Work Text:

“What just happened?” Alastor looked down at his staff that was broken in two. “Fuck” He sweared. He wasn’t exactly the demon to swear, pretty much the only other person he had done so to was Lucifer, the literal king of hell.

Oh, and maybe Adam before this…

He was not the type of demon who liked other more powerful than him, as, pretty much everyone could hear and see.
Before he could think of anything more, he was slammed into a wall by the first man on earth. He fell to the ground when he hit it, his ears twitching.
He got up on his knees, feeling blood fall out of his mouth. Where is it? He looked around until he found his broken radio staff, quickly grabbing it as he saw Adam make his way towards him.

“Have to disagree with you there” He put on an even bigger and faker grin as he leaned his back against the wall, thinking of a way to escape Adam. He never thought he’d ever loose to someone, not even Adam, so when the realization hit him, he needed to act. He was so used to winning, winning in souls, money, everything! And now, he was on the tip of being defeated, his ears pinned backwards as he tried to hide his panic.

“Radio’s not dead, but it is ending this broadcast.” And with that, he let his shadow teleport him next to his tower.

Alastor laughed demonically as he felt his shadow appear behind him.

Even if his smile was huge, it was still fake, it was always fake. His knees were shaking so much he had to lean backwards. His back was supposed to hit the wall, but he fell backwards on his tail. He winced as the scar on his chest hurt when he hit the floor. He leaned his head back, feeling the blood drip out of his mouth like drool. It felt as if he had broken a thousand limbs even if he just moved his fingers. He wouldn’t be able to get up in a while…

He sighed before a static laugh filled the air. He sounded like a maniac. And it was true! He was a maniac. The pain gripped him like claws as his chest moved up and down with the laughter, causing him to groan instead.

One day… One day he would get revenge… On Adam, heaven, everyone.

But his thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang. Had something exploded? No, it couldn’t, nothing seemed to be falling apart. He thought it was just in his mind util he saw shoes around a corner.

“Ah, are you back for a round two?” He brought the grin back to his face and pushed himself up. The pain oozed in his body, and he swore he hadn’t had it this bad since he died.

But when the one stepped out from the corner so he could be visible, Alastor felt as if he had been hit in the stomach. He didn’t know what to feel. Anger? Relaxation? Shock?

Lucifer stepped even closer to him, looking him up and down. He didn’t look exactly like the normal Alastor would, and he knew his eyes showed in how much pain he was, even with his grin on.

“Ah, it’s you” Alastor’s grin dropped a little to bring some sarcasm with it, and he felt his ears twitch backwards.
“Another round, huh?” Was all Lucifer said.

Alastor hissed through his gritted teeth, letting the blood fall out faster. He clenched his fists, digging his nails in his palms. Lucifer took another daring step towards the deer demon, tilting his head as he saw his ripped clothing on his chest. “Was that Adams doing?” He asked. Alastor dug his nails even deeper in, feeling blood spit out slightly. Why did he sound like he cared? Why did he sound worried? Alastor figured that he was probably making fun of him.

“Wouldn’t you like to know…” Alastor growled. He wanted to snarl at the fallen angel, he wanted to rip out his throat. But he couldn’t. The pain in his body was unbearable, and he didn’t want to break his character. And even if he tried, Lucifer could just snap his fingers and kill Alastor.

“Is it a celestial wound?”

“What?”

Alastor’s head hurt when he tried thinking what Lucifer tried to say. It went in one ear and out the other.
Then, he lost his breath. He looked furiously at Lucifer. What was he doing? But… He wasn’t doing anything, he looked, in fact, worried.

The pain took an even bigger grip at his body, and he couldn’t stand up anymore. His knees felt wobbly, and he couldn’t feel them. Before he could think straight, he was falling to the ground. He expected even more pain and a harsh landing, but none of that met him. He looked up curiously and saw that Lucifer had caught him just in time.

Charlie’s dad brought Alastor back to his hooves and let him rest on the wall behind him.

He wanted to thank him, but not a single word came out of his mouth. Too painful.
Then, Lucifer was even closer to him, studying him even more. He took one hand closer to Alastor, and then he realized he was going to touch his wound.
Quickly, he shoved the fallen angel’s cold hand away from him and turned around. He could just teleport away, after all.

He knew that his elbow was on the side of the devil’s neck, but what was the point in moving?
“Alastor- “

“No- AGH!” He grumbled as the pain took over him again, but this time he had a wall to lean on

“Alastor!” Lucifer was now yelling.
But the deer demon didn’t reply, he was simply… Too hurt. But there was a mix of emotions too. Sure, he didn’t want the king of hell to see him like this. But there was something else, another feeling. The feeling that Lucifer cared. And the bottom on his stomach fluttered, like a volcano waiting to spit out it's lava.
It felt… good?
He wasn’t sure. He’d never felt this, and it was even more weird now that he was in so much pain he could barely feel Lucifers place his cold, white hand on his shoulders.

“Alastor, look at me.”

He sighed, a static one, before finally turning around to face him.

“I can see it even from here, it’s a celestial wound. And they don’t heal on their own. Only angels can heal them.”
He brought his hand closer to Alastor’s chest, but he didn't shove him away this time.

He was tired of all the pain. The miserable pain.
He looked away, but in the corner of his eyes he saw something gold and shining. Suddently, some of the pain was gone.
He faced Lucifer again, surprised. “Uh… Thanks” He gave him a shaky smile.

Lucifer sighed. “It will take about a week for it to heal, so try not to get in so many fights, alright?”

There was an uncomfortable silence until the deer demon nodded.

“Good”

Lucifer silently took off his jacket, and Alastor’s cheeks turned red. Okay, what was going on? When the devil had taken off his jacket, he saw Alastor’s rosy cheeks.

“Ah-I’m not gonna do anything to you!” He yelled, his face getting the same color as his cheeks.

Alastor’s face went back to normal, but quickly turned red again as Lucifer handed him his jacket. “Here, in case you begin to bleed… uh, more,” He looked away, embarrassed. Alastor grabbed his jacket and held it close to his chest. It wasn’t as cold as Lucifer’s hands, but it wasn’t as hot as hell itself.

“I gotta go back” Lucifer mumbled.

“Oh, okay” Alastor’s ears fell, almost as if he were sad. Wait, was he? No! He hated this man!
Lucifer gave him one last look and a smile before his wings came into sight as he flied away.
The last thing Alastor heard Lucifer say before he was gone, was:

“Allow yourself to be vulnerable for once”

Notes:

I wrote this in around an hour save me 😭🙏

Before people start hating on my tags yes it is confirmed that Luci has autism. He loved ducks even in heaven, but other angels thought it was a waste of time. Poor him. And he suffers from PTSD. Never would i have thought that i would feel bad for someone from the bible, and I def didn't think I'd feel sorry for the literal DEVIL.
