Chapter Text

“WAIT WHAT??"

"HUHHH??? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MOVE??" "I DON'T KNOW?? my brother and sister said they wanted to move away soon, they were getting tired of our house..,” Chuuya was explaining to her childhood friends that she was moving soon. She honestly doesn't want to move, since this was her house she always lived, the house she was raised in. Chuuya would do anything to not move, she doesn't want anything to change but nooo her siblings just had to sell the house..It's not like she had any decision, she was 15, still a kid.. She wouldn’t want to get into any meaningless arguments, so she just stays quiet. Chuuya doesn’t want to make anything harder on both of her siblings.

"It's so unfair... YOUR SIBLINGS NEVER LISTEN TO YOUR OPINIONS!!" Yuan growled, pacing around a bit. What she was doing and saying snapped Chuuya out of her train of thought, a bit of a smile divulged. What Yuan said certainly cheered her up a tiny bit. Yuan always knew how to somehow make Chuuya feel a little bit better, no matter how bad the situation. Shirase added, "YAA WELL GO SHOW BOTH VERLAINE AND KOUOU WHO THEY SHOULD LISTEN TOO!!" After Chuuya heard Shirase say this she glanced at Yuan and started to laugh. "I'm going to miss seeing the both of yall around." Chuuya said, with a smile that had hints of sadness to it. "Hey... hey, don't worry, Chuuya!! you can always text us!! I won't change my number ever just in case you need me" Yuan grins with saddened eyes. "YA and we can still hang out!! and once one of us gets our drivers license we can come visit!! or you can come down!!" Shirase mentions. They all continued to chat, Chuuya told them when her last day there was, it was soon, too soon.

After some time it was a few days before the move. They all decided to hang out in person all one last time, first they went to Yuan’s house. They booted up her old console and played all of their favorite multiplayer games for one final time. They used to play these games all the time. Across multiple genres, Yuan, Shirase, and Chuuya played on that old console for hou5rs at a time when they were younger. Now that Chuuya was moving soon, she would have to drive a good hour or so just to see the both of them in person. Chuuya would rather not think about this at the moment, seeing how she still had time to spend with her 2 childhood friends. She figured a fighting game would go well to take her mind off of it. It was her v.s. Shirase this round. While they were in the middle of their round, Yuan had an idea, when she mentioned it to the others they agreed,so she jumped and went to go get her camera. She took a picture and waited for the film to develop. Yuan got a camera a couple of years ago, she loved taking pictures of things. She cherished each picture she took. While Shirase and Chuuya were in the middle of a round, Yuan took another picture of them two. After 10 or so minutes, Yuan noticed that the pictures were done developing. She told the other 2, so they paused their game and came to take a look at them. Yuan always knew when to take pictures, she has a good eye for photography. In Chuuya’s eyes at least, her photos could win 1st place in a competition if she submitted them. After chatting about the photos a bit, mostly complimenting Yuan’s skill, they decided to switch locations.

Since they all lived next door, next it was Shirase's turn. They all played in the treehouse they used to stay in for hours on end. Chuuya swinging in Shirase’s tire swing, thinking of when she was younger. She loved Shirase’s house a lot, especially the backyard. Chuuya was deep in thought about her old memories about this backyard, until she heard a snap and giggles coming from the treehouse. Chuuya turned her head seeing Shirase holding Yuan’s camera. She gave a little chuckle, thinking if she had a photo of them, they should have a photo of her back. Chuuya climbed into the tree house as quickly as possible and sat next to the both of them. She took the camera and took a photo with all of them in it. She took multiple pictures with them. Chuuya wasn’t the best with photography, while taking the pictures she just knew they would come out a bit blurry. That’s not the point though, who cares if they come up blurry! It was just fun for her to hang out and take pictures of her childhood friends once more before she moves far away. Chuuya is so glad she got to hang out with the both of them at least once more.

As the photo develops they went to Chuuya’s house one last time. The 3 of them went up to Chuuya’s room. The house looked so empty.. It felt as if a dark cloud had engulfed them, knowing this is the last time they all will step in the house. They headed into Chuuya’s room, a couple of things still not packed yet, and sat down on her bed. Shirase placed the photos on the desk and they all talked in her room, for the last time. They talked about a plethora of things, like music they liked, their favorite T.V. shows at the time. All of their conversations were just talking about random things. Yuan glanced at the photos and yelled out "THEY ARE DONE DEVELOPING!!" they all swarmed around the pictures. The first one was with all of them at Yuan’s house, the next one was the one of Chuuya on the tire swing, her dark ginger hair glistening in the sun deep in thought, and the last was when Chuuya grabbed the camera and took a couple of pictures of them. They all split the pictures evenly then walked out of Chuuya’s house for a final time.

The sun was about to set. Knowing this was her last time living in this neighborhood, they decided to just walk around it one final time, just like when they were younger. They talked about everything, how they were all going to miss each other and hanging out on a daily basis. Chuuya didn’t want to leave this neighborhood, she never did. She just wants to stay in that house forever, never moving and always being next door neighbors with her closest friends. She was going to miss them, miss walking to school together, miss going home and hanging out. Chuuya was going to miss it all. The sun was setting soon, tomorrow in the morning is when she’s leaving. They all split up after the sunset, giving their last goodbyes and see you soon. Chuuya knows she can still talk to them over messages, hell she’s planning on texting their group chat everyday when she has the chance, but it still won’t be the same. There’ll be no more walking to school or sitting on the bus together, no sitting in the school yard talking during their lunch period anymore, not that much time spent together in person anymore. All of that depends on if either one of them or their guardians, which she doubts, or if Chuuya convinces Verlaine to drive down there to let her visit them because she knows Kouyou won’t for the life of her. They were all getting tired, yet the 3 of them didn’t want the day to end. They all shared their goodbyes and ‘I missed you’s, saying how they’ll talk everyday and somehow visit. Then after that, they split up. They all went to their houses, knowing what tomorrow was.

A little after Chuuya came home, Verlaine and Kouyou came home, and she was finally finished packing her stuff. Kouyou reminded both Verlaine and Chuuya to have one last check around to make sure they didn't forget anything. She’s going to miss that house dearly. Chuuya wanted to stay in the house forever, until she died. She doesn't like change. Chuuya hates it, she hates it more than anything in the world. She couldn't take this anymore. She wanted to grab a blade and relieve this pain, but she remembered that her siblings made her throw away the blades she had, anything that could hurt her. Stupid councilor, ever since those sessions, she can't find a better way to cope. Even though she felt like it was barely helping, she was still forced to go to them. The best she could do was pick at her skin. The skin around Chuuya’s nails were a bit bloodied and didn't even get started on her lips when it got dry. In the winter and drier months, she’d pick at them alot. This was the main way Chuuya got over her anger problems, by somehow hurting herself. Even if she wasn’t allowed to have things like blades or knives, she will still find a way around it. If this was the best she could do, then she'd do it. That’s just how Chuuya was. Everything was packed, nothing left. Everything was accounted for. Chuuya went to her room one last time, putting her share of the pictures in her carry on bag, and started getting ready for bed. She knows tonight will be a sleepless night, too much to think about and too stress filled to even go to sleep without troubles. Chuuya laid there for what seemed like hours, overhearing what Verlaine and Kouyou were talking about. It was what you’d expect, talking about how she was tired of that house and wanting to leave, doing one last check of the house to see if they left anything behind. Verlaine honestly didn’t care if he was moving or not, as long as his siblings are happy then it’s ok. But one of them wasn't, Chuuya would rather die than move, yet seeing how it’s too late and not wanting to start another pointless argument with Kouyou, she agreed. Wait, no, she never agreed to this. Verlaine knows this, Kouyou knows this. She would do anything in her will to not move, yet that isn’t good enough. They were moving and it’s final. After hours of just laying, tossing and turning, Chuuya finally got to sleep. In the morning, around 10, they were packing the last of their carry ons in the car. Chuuya looked back at the house, the house she spent her life in, the house that she spent time with her friends in, one last time. That house knew her better than anyone in the world, it saw her when she was a baby, saw her in her happy times and sadness, and Chuuya is being forced to abandon it just like that. She got in the car with both of her siblings, looking out the window seeing her old house get smaller and smaller until it disappeared. Then, they were officially on their way.

It took around an hour to get there, and all that time there were only 3 things she could do. Talking to siblings, sleeping, and to think. Think about the old life she was abandoning, the school she spent her time at, her friends that she spent most of her life, and most importantly of all, her old house. The house she spent her whole life in, the house Chuuya lived in with her siblings and parents. That house was a part of her, she could never forget that house, hell she'd even kill if Chuuya could still live in that house again, if everything could go back to normal. Yet, no one always gets what they want. She thought about the future, about when she was older and had the money she would buy that house back. She kept that day in the back of her mind, thinking about how she would decorate everything the exact same as it was, as if nothing changed. Chuuya hates change, she wants things to stay the same forever. Of course, she knows they can’t for the most part, but she can still hope. She thought about her new school, knowing it’d be hard to fit in. She was moving halfway through the second semester. There is no way she would find a group to sit with just like that. Chuuya was going to be lonely with no one to talk to, unless she somehow makes at least one friend the first day there, but that’s not likely. She’ll probably just end up talking to Yuan and Shirase during every break. Chuuya’s going to miss both of them a lot. There was nothing much to do during the drive. If it wasn’t obvious, Chuuya didn't sleep well last night. She tried sleeping in the car but with all the bumps in the road, it'll be better to wait until they get to her new house. She tried joining the conversation with her siblings, but it bored her to death. All of it was things she didn’t really care for. So, she just looked out the window for most of the time. It was the most interesting thing she could do, seeing how there was nothing else she could've done.

That long hour finally passed, Chuuya and her family were finally at their new house. Chuuya thought the house was decent, not as good as her old house but still decent. It was a biggish white house, 2 floors. She saw pictures of the inside of the house but that was it. She went to grab her carry ons and enter the house with her siblings, a little scared to take a step into her new house. Chuuya got the smallest of the 3 rooms of the 3, her sister got the biggest, and her brother got the middle room. She carried hee boxes in while Verlaine helped Kouyou carry her and the living room's stuff into the house. As she unpacked her stuff, it got more and more tiring. She got all of her furniture set up and unpacked. All of Chuuya’s clothes are still in boxes, her still in the white tank top and black jean shorts she traveled in. She finished setting everything up, arranging the room how she likes it. It looked just like her old room. She was struck with grief, remembering she will never live in that house again unless she buys it later on in life. Yet, Chuuya was too tired and busy to be sad. She just wanted to actually sleep decently, that’s all she asks. As she finished with her table and bed, she decided to take a break. Chuuya just wanted to rest, it felt like she was going days without sleep. Right when her ginger hair hit the pillow she passed out. Hours have passed, she is still asleep. They got to the new house at around 11 in the morning, and when Chuuya awoke it was well past 18:00. She sat up in her bed, Chuuya was confused at first, wondering why she was in a different room. Then she remembered that she moved, she knew well that it would take a while to get used to it. She wanted to somehow get her mind off of this. Then, Chuuya had an idea and dashed downstairs. Her sister was down there, eating the dinner she made for her siblings. Chuuya greeted Kouyou, and she greeted her back. Kouyou also told Chuuya that dinner was ready and to get some. Chuuya grabbed a bowl out of the cupboards and got some of the soup Kouyou made. She then sat across from her at the table. It was a silent dinner, like no one was really there. After they finished their supper, Kouyou went upstairs to get ready for bed and wished Chuuya a good night. Chuuya decided to go out a little after, she wanted to explore her new neighborhood, seeing how she's going to be staying here for a good while. She used to go on walks like this alone and with her friends all the time without permission. It’s just like how it used to be, so Chuuya doubts Kouyou would mind that much.. She knows Kouyou is a bit… overprotective of the people she cares about, so Chuuya thought to just use the ‘I used to do it all the time!!’ excuse might work a bit. She made sure her phone was charged, just in case if either one of her siblings got worried, and made it where her phone would just vibrate if someone messages her. Then, she was off to explore this new neighborhood.
