Chapter Text
When I finally open my eyes I'm greeted by the sight of vermilion blood and delicate and vibrant purple petals covering my pale hand. I raise my head and my blue orbs meet the familiar face who's painted on the shining glass plate right in front of me.
One of his blond and long locks is glued to his forehead thanks to the cold sweat that's running down his cheeks. His blue and once calm eyes are now wide open, as if to express his shock and disbelief regarding the whole situation. And how can I not notice the little drop of very pigmented blood flowing down his chin?
It is a really unusual way of referring to your own self like this. Like a stranger who you can't help but stare into his eyes. A person who you feel a type of connection with, but the more you stare at him, the more he looks like a "stranger". This is exactly how I'm feeling at the moment: a different version of myself. An unknown and frightening side of my being.
My wide eyes, my shaky hands and my heavy breathing mixed with the loud pounding of my heart are clear signs of something I've never felt before, a new kind of emotion that I can't yet understand or classify.
My trail of thoughts is abruptly interrupted by the unpleasant feeling of something growing from inside my lungs, tickling its insides like tiny paws ready to scratch.
The air in my lungs is quickly knocked out as those little things keep growing. I start coughing like my life depends on it, and the more I cough the more I feel those delicate, but at the same time sharp as knives, petals slowly but surely cut the inside of my throat, causing me to feel an agonizing pain. The petals were stubbornly attached to the insides of my throat, not wanting to leave the warm and wet place that they've got used to know. My loud coughs were muffling my screams of pain and my sobs as I desperately try to get rid of those beautiful parassites that are residing inside my being.
After a few minutes I finally throw up all the petals and blood that made it impossible for me to breathe. My shaky hands hold the sides of the bathroom sink firmly as my eyes are fixated on the image before me. It looks like an art piece, an agonizingly painful art piece: the petals float silently on the red pigmented sea of blood that, at the same time, rests calmly on the wet and cold surface of the blinding white sink.
My focus quickly turns towards the pain that I'm experiencing at the moment. Breathing feels like a torture and I try my best to hold in tears. My hands and legs shake from the boost of adrenaline running through my pulsing veins.
It wasn't bound to happen. I should have never fell ill from such sickness.
I already know what kind of disease I'm suffering from, and I can't help but ask myself who is the cause of all of this.
I let out a shaky breath before slowly sitting down on the cold floor. I feel physically exhausted from what just happened, but my mind doesn't seem to stop analyzing who could have done this to me. I am but a synthetic human, created with only a goal in mind: to be a mere tool to help over with alchemical researches.
I find my current position fascinating and exciting, since I've never felt anything other than physical pain and physical exhaustion. But at the same time I find it strange and somewhat frightening to feel such strong emotions; like anxiety, stress, nervousness and....love. Because I've probably felt the latter at least once in my life to be in this uncomfortable position. But I don't remember who the receiver of my affection is. And...it's almost like he disappeared from the world.
