Work Text:
Saki usually wakes up in a good mood anyway, but today, she's absolutely ecstatic!
Why?
Its Valentine's day, and that means that she gets to spend a whole day showing her girlfriend how much she loves her!
The blonde practically throws the covers off of her and sprints to the bathroom, wasting no time to get ready for her super yolofleek wonderhoy date!
She puts on a cute outfit, a white jumper over a pink pleated skirt, leg warmers and her favourite jacket over it.
Saki does a little spin in the mirror, giggling to herself.
Then of course she does her makeup, making sure that its absolutely perfect for today!
Today is so important, that she can't afford to be anything but perfect for this date!
The blonde decides to do a half up half down hairstyle today, a stark contrast to her usual twin tails, and she really hopes it'll sweep her girlfriend off her feet.
She's just about to rush out of the door, before remembering a very crucial thing that she's almost forgetting.
Her gift!
She can't possibly forget that after she spent so long preparing it!
She grabs the bag, laden with hearts on it, and rushes downstairs.
“Saki? Where the shidingle are you rushing off to?”
“Ah, brother-! I have a date!! Gotta flee! Bye!”
“A D-D-DATE?!?? WHO-“
Saki pays no heed to his shouting, closing the front door behind her, leaving Tsukasa with his jaw hanging, bamboozled beyond words.
The blonde giggles at his expression through the window, before going on her way.
When Saki arrives at the spot that her and her girlfriend had planned on meeting at: a cafe loved bu the both of them, she’s met instantly with the smell of food and coffee hitting her, and warm lights that shine everywhere.
The atmosphere is cosy, like a little home, and as she sits down at a table, waiting, she lets a smile form on her face.
Since it’s Valentines day, the place is very crowded, but there’s no sign of her girlfriend yet.....
But suddenly, a head of short, grey hair catches her eye, and Saki perks up immediately as the girl walks closer, flinging herself on her.
“Shiho!! You finally came!”
“S-saki-! Too- tight-!!”
Saki lets go, but her face is still radiating warmth, grinning wide enough that she can feel her jaw start to hurt.
“Ehe, im just so glad you’re here!”
“Of course I’d come Saki... I’m right on time, but by the looks of it, did you come early?”
“Ah.... yeah, i guess i did...”
“Typical Saki.... you’re always too exited...”
Shiho shakes her head, but there’s a fond smile on her face, and the two sit down opposite each other.
A waiter comes by and asks them for their order, and Shiho orders for the both of them before Saki can answer; strawberry ice cream and waffles for Saki, and a mint chocolate chip milkshake for her.
“How did you know....”
“Saki, that’s the same thing you order every time we come here.”
“Oh yeah! Well, they always make it the best here, so i always have it!”
“Hm, true, this place makes really good ice cream.”
“Yep! Although I don’t see the hype of mint chocolate chip.”
“Excuse me?!”
“Im just saying! Mint chocolate chip tastes like toothpaste!”
“Okay well strawberry ice cream tastes like the red vaseline.”
“What does that even mean-?!?”
Saki would have argued more, but the waiter came by with their food, and so she just huffed and started eating.
“Im only joking, dear.”
“Yeah you better be....!”
“Fine, let me try some of yours and ill let you try some of mine?”
“Alright!”
Saki feeds a spoon of strawberry ice cream to Shiho, and the other girl does the same, giggling as she does.
“Well i guess strawberry isn’t so bad...”
“Exactly! Mint chocolate chip isn’t.... too topthpasty i guess!”
“I’ll take that as a win in my book.”
The two finish their meals fairly quickly, and Saki sighs, leaning back.
“God, I’m stuffed.”
“You’re full already?”
“Yeah! The waffles were so large!”
“Hm, i guess that’s true.”
As the two walk out, Shiho takes in how the sky has changed into a light orange, clouds tinted with shades of grey and pink.
“What do you want to do now, darling?”
“Hmm.... We should just walk around that nice grassy area!”
“Grassy area...? You mean around that lake?”
“Yeah! That place is so nice!”
“Sure.”
Saki wraps her hands around Shiho’s, the two walking until they get to the lake.
A few ducks swim together, creating small ripples in the water that go on for just a few seconds.
Saki is looking at the ducks swimming, but Shiho’s attention isn’t on them, but rather on the blonde standing next to her.
“Shiho. Why are you staring at me?”
“Ah. I didn’t notice.”
“Suuureee you didn’t....”
As one would expect, staring at ducks doing almost nothing proves to become very boring after a few minutes, and their steps are slow as they walk away.
It was Saki’s idea to walk up a random hill for fun, and Shiho had complained about how long it had taken to get up it, but now that they’re sitting down on the grass at the top, leaning against a thick tree, the sunset that they can see is worth it.
“The sunset is so pretty....”
“Not as pretty as you, Saki.”
“Shiho....”
The grey haired girl has been looking at Saki for a while before the blonde turns her head, seeing Shiho looking at her intently with a light smile on her face.
“Hm?”
“Nothing. I just like looking at you.”
“Ehe, you’re teasing me too much today...”
“What, i can’t tease my girlfriend now?”
She laughs along with her, taking in the way Saki blinks as she giggles, her eyelashes long and thick, mascara evident on them.
Her cheeks are flushed and red, and Shiho can tell quite quickly that it’s not because of the blush on them.
“Saki, did i tell you how pretty you are?”
“Yeah, you have Shiho. As if you’re not pretty too....”
“Have i told you how much i love you?”
Saki leans in, kissing her on the lips quickly in place of an answer, and while Shiho expected it, her eyes still widen in slight surprise before she too, closes them and kisses her back.
Saki doesn’t need to tell her anything, and she doesn’t need to either, because the two know how much they love each other.
The blonde finally pulls away, but keep their faces close, fingers touching and eventually becoming entwined.
“Happy valentines day, darling.”
