Chapter Text

There was nothing more the two could be besides friends. Responsibility called on both of them like shepherds to their flock, preaching of the life and woes that would come as they would soon grow to face the world that wouldn't be forever as kind to them. Both boys knew this and the dangers that came with growing close, and yet, they seemed to indulge such risks. When the rain poured against the sturdy bark of their hollowed our tree, or when the light splintered through its cracks. When the winds howled like hounds to their God of the Moon, to the still silence in which nothing made a sound at all. Through every moment of the short time they could spend together, Lucian and Ezekeil would sneak against their shepard's word, running under the cover of night to reunite beneath the fairy lights of their stow away, resting beside one another. The bull's arm laid draped over the wolf, securing the crimson cape he wore as their blanket, their air was cold, and yet as their bodies lead pressed together, neither shivered under the warmth of their "platonic" love for one another It was all the two could share under the elms of public eye. And yet what laid beneath such a thin veil was far greater. A love that extended past the planes of the mortal realm, reaching horizons even farther than the dawning sun's. A love stronger than death, one that could live past it's cold grasp and be immortalized into the stars themselves. A love unspoken, yet far more potent than anything the two would come to know. Yet for now, in the small fractions of a moment the two could share like this, huddled in the others embrace while melting beneath the warmth of his crimson cape, both boys would enjoy their simple bliss of friendship, allowing themselves to lavish in the warmth of their shared embrace
