Summary:

Alois compliments Ciel. The latter hates every second of it.

Work Text:

“And your eyes are like the stars-”

“No they’re not, you idiot,” Ciel huffed, fruitlessly pressing a palm to Alois’s forehead.

The boy only clung tighter to the other, nuzzling into his midsection and trying to quell his laughter. “Yes they are. Brilliant and beautiful, glimmering with enough love and resolve to-”

“Oh my god, no!” Ciel groaned as he tried to shake his boyfriend yet again.

But Alois was not giving up so easily. “And your teeth, bright white like the, uh, snowy peaks of mountains against the sky, warm with the shades of the setting sun…” He had to admit, this position was growing tiring, but he refused to back down. He had his knees on the ground and his chest resting on his boyfriend’s lap as he burrowed his face into his shirt, which smelled like sweat and negative vibes from Ciel’s very evident bad day out working a case.

Ciel practically shrieked in his protest, and he could have easily gotten Alois to leave him alone if he really wanted, but to the latter’s delight, he seemed to be holding back from doing so. “Sure, the peaks of mountains, why not! Now if you don’t shut up, I’ll use them to rip you apart!”

Alois sighed, making the sound a blissful one. “Ah, my love, you have no idea the agony I would put myself through for you… you are worth every second of pain ever felt by anyone to ever exist…”

Ciel’s sound of displeasure was weaker this time. “I hate you…”

Alois kept going. “Oh, my dear, and your scars! They show how much you’ve survived, winding over your skin like a uh, corn… maze…”

Ciel let out a soft snort. “That’s not even flattering. You’re shit at similes.”

Alois chuckled. “Yeah, I know.”

Ciel was silent for a moment, then exhaled sharply and gripped Alois by his upper arms. “Come on up.”

The boy happily complied, clumsily scrambling the rest of the way up onto the couch so that he could curl up in Ciel’s lap. “There we are.”

“Why do you do this every damn time?” Ciel grumbled, but despite the sour expression on his face, still accepted when Alois pulled him into a gentle kiss.

“Because,” he murmured once he had pulled away, “The best way to improve your moods is to make you suffer under the horrible wrath of someone admiring you.”

Ciel rolled his eyes. “I don’t hate it, I just wish you would do it less obnoxiously.”

“Nahhh.” Alois snuggled in, and yawned, mouth contorting into a smile. “Now, time for a nap.”

“But I need to take a bath, you bloody nuisance!”

Alois’s smile only widened. “Love you too. Night.”
