It was such a simple spell that it tripped off his fingers without effort or even conscious thought these days, so the first time it didn't work, Jazz nearly had a panic attack. He'd picked the lock the hard way instead, gotten into the Victory and back out with the information they needed, but he'd still been rattled when he went to recharge. He didn't know what to do if his magic was failing.
The second time he tried it on Earth, the lock popped open like it was supposed to and he slipped into the above-ground base like a shadow and Jazz thought maybe he understood what was going wrong. Earth's magic was wilder and more untamed than Cybertron's, harder to access for someone who thought in binary and rigid pathways. Fortunately, Jazz was the most flexible of the Autobots and he would learn how to make it work consistently.
Whether or not he could teach any of the others, though, would remain to be seen.
