Chapter Text
"Laios?"
Laios turned around, surprised to see the party's newest member approaching him. She only stopped when she stood right in front of him.
Before him stood a feathered monster. Her talons were about an inch long. Her dark sea-colored hair draped over her face and around her shoulders. Even though the monster had breasts, she chose only to wear a loin cloth and bandages around her arms.
"That's your name, isn't it?" She giggled at his reaction. "What are you doing?" she bowed to his level since he sat on a chair. "Uh…" He was surprised, really; no one entertained his interest in monsters. He quickly overcame his shock and looked from her to the book in his hands. "I'm reading some of the notes Senshi has on monster meat. This page is about a new species I found that lives in armor. They're actually Mollusks!" She lit up at the last part. "Mollusks? Oh! I love those guys! What did you call them?" Laios sighed. "It doesn't actually have a name yet..." he looked disparagingly at the pages and then set the book down. "I haven't figured out how to even go about naming it. I get the scientific names and how they work, but I'm not sure how to give them their common name." She watched his brows knit together. "Well..." The avian smiled at him. "How did you name me?" He looked shyly at the girl in question. "Well..." 'I named you Teal because your wings and hair are teal! But I can't just say that! It sounds like I was careless!' "Because of my feathers, right?" He cradled his face in his hands. 'She already knows...' "So just name them based on how they look!" Teal's grin grows at his action, and she pats his back. "I've heard you humans call some Mollusks' sea cucumbers,' right?" She laughs again, and he starts glaring at her. "I like that name. It's very silly." She taps his nose and makes a 'boop' sound. "Your face is red, by the way."
