Chapter Text
After Izumi’s Mother passed away at the age of eight, she was sent to live with an old friend of her mother who lived in Europe. Shirou Emiya, his wife Artoria and their daughter Mordred. Unbeknownst to Izumi the change in country and housing would be nothing but a boon for the girl. Shirou and Artoria took an instant liking to the young girl and taught her how to fight in case she ever got roughed up by her classmates. Though due to Europe’s more quirkless friendly attitude, and an all around greater quirkless population than Japan the instances of her bullying was few and far between. But when people did bother Izumi, they instead had to deal with the hot headed Mordred. The two girl’s quickly formed a bond with one another and even eventually blossomed into something more in their teenage years.
In their high school careers Izumi and Mordred trained hard to become pro heroes together, and with the help of Artoria, the famed number three hero in Europe, they managed to break into the scene with a blast. During their first months as pro heroes they managed to skyrocket in the rankings as a power duo nearly no one one person could keep up with. At the nine month period the two had already breached the top fifty hero rankings in Europe and were projected to break into the top ten in the coming months, and some even said that in a year's time they would already have suppressed Artoria in ranking. Though the two girl’s had no desire to really climb the rankings, they were just having fun bringing in criminals and spending time together.
It was around the same ninth month period of time that a request came in from across the sea’s from Japan’s prestigious UA University. Requesting the presences of Izumi and Mordred to teach a special “Lecture” to the new and upcoming students of Class 1-A. Izumi was hesitant to do so, but Mordred eventually convinced the girl to do so, and the two were on a flight to Japan.
Class 1-A was gathered in a training hall dressed in their hero costumes and awaiting the arrival of their homeroom teacher.
“Anyone have any idea what teach has planned for us today?” Denki Kaminari questioned. He was in a relaxed posture and his hands were placed behind his head as he leaned back slightly.
“No clue, though he did say something about a special guest or something like that.” Hanta Sero replied. He had his arms placed on his hips while he tapped his foot on the ground.
“He also hid his mouth under his capture weapon right after he said it, which can only bode poorly for what's to come.” Hitoshi Shinso said. He was fiddling with a mask in his hands before he placed it on his face and sighed when it stayed on. A scoff was heard after the words left his mouth and everyone turned towards a spiky blonde guy.
“Special guest my ass, we’re being taught by All Might himself. There is nothing special about this guest.” Katsuki Bakugo stated. His arms hung by his sides and his eyes roamed the coward with barely hidden disdain in them.
“Now Bakugo that is no way to speak of someone who UA has spent their resources on bringing here to teach us.” Tenya Iida responded sternly. His arm chopped back and forth towards Bakugo. The blonde just scoffed and ignored the glasses wearing boy.
“I mean as rudely as Bakugo put it, he does have something of a point. With the number one hero himself teaching here, what special guest could UA bring that would really be worth our time?” Momo Yaoyorozu questioned. She was standing proudly with a thoughtful look on her face.
“Maybe another hero from the top ten? I don’t think that it would be too much of a stretch for UA to get one of them.” Eijiro Kirishima responded. His arms crossed, and he looked down in thought.
“But why bring in someone so early in the year? It’s not like we’ve done really anything to need a special guest to come talk to us.” Mashirao Ojiro stated. His shoulders were slightly tense, and his tail was flicking back in froth in mild unease.
“Maybe our showings in the entrance exam prompted them to get a special guest?” Ochako Uraraka suggested. She was standing in a mundane manner, say for her shifting her weight to one side or the other every few seconds. “But I doubt that, since I don’t think everyone did a stellar job on the entrance exam.” Uraraka stated.
“Don’t remind me.” Mina Ashido muttered. Her posture was slouched and she had a defeated look on her face. “I’m pretty sure I only just passed the entrance exam by the skin of my teeth.” Ashido stated.
“There's no need to worry mon ami. If you are here now you surely worth standing in the spotlight with moi.” Yuga Aoyama stated. He had one hand on his chest and another raised high above his head as sparkles seemed to shine around his face.
“I feel so reassured.” Ashido muttered.
“I would assume they brought the special guest in for some reason, maybe to teach us something really important that we couldn’t learn from the current teachers. Kero.” Tsuyu Asui suggested. Her head was slightly tilted to the side, she had her index finger placed on her chin and she had an obvious slouch.
“I don’t care what they teach us, as long as they're a hot babe!” Minoru Mineta declared a moment later. He had a fist raised in the air, his eyes were closed, and he had a smile on his face, with a slight drool coming out of the end of it. “I can just a imagine
the beauty now.” Mineta stated in bliss.
“Even if they are beautiful, I doubt they would pay much attention to you.” Kyoka Jiro responded. Mineta didn’t seem to hear the comment causing Jiro’s shoulders to sag and her to sigh. “Why do I even bother?” Jiro mumbled. Yaoyorozu gently patted the girl on the back for comfort.
“Maybe they brought in a special guest that’s going to train with us, considering we’re in one of the gyms and all.” Rikido Sato suggested. He had his arms crossed and he seemed to be somewhat deep in thought.
“I hope not! I would rather get a lecture than have to fight any special guest UA would throw at us.” Toru Hagakure responded. Her hands were at her sides, though due to her quirk not much else of her posture could be seen.
“I hope we get to fight this special guest, that way I can prove to everyone I’m better then them and show you all who the real best student in this class is.” Bakugo declared. He turned his head towards a white and red haired boy who was staring off into space. “You hear that half-and-half I’m going to show you up today!” Bakugo yelled. The white and red haired boy ignored him and continued to stare at one of the benches on the higher floors of the gyms. “Hey don’t ignore me!” Bakugo shouted.
“He’s not ignoring you, he’s looking at something.” Fumikage Tokoyami stated. Everyone turned towards the boy and found that he was looking in the same direction as the white and red haired boy. His posture was relaxed, though his eyes were narrowed in slight confusion.
“She’s been there for the past few minutes just, looking at the entrances in anticipation.” Mezo Shoji said. His posture was a bit tense, but all of his arms were crossed and he seemed mostly relaxed.
“Hey, what are you doing up there?” Kirishima called out to the girl on the gym’s benches. The girl turned towards them and her eyes seemed to shine in anticipation.
“My homeroom teacher let slip who the special guest was, and I couldn’t pass up on the chance to meet someone so famous!” Nejire Hado answered. She was bouncing up and down in excitement, even floating up a few times by accident. “Though from your conversation, I guess you guys don’t know who the special guest is, do you?” Hado questioned.
“No we don’t.” Shoto Todoroki answered. Hado frowned in disappointment.
“Really, I thought your homeroom teacher would tell you about the special guest.” Hado commented.
“Mister Aizawa isn’t the most froth coming on information most of the time.” Shinso stated. Hado nodded in understanding.
“Ah it makes sense now! Mister Aizawa was never one to let things slip unless he wanted them to.” Hado stated. There was a moment of silence between all the students before one person spoke up.
“Are you going to tell us who the special guest is?” Kamirari questioned. Hado laughed in response.
“Oh heavens no!” Hado exclaimed, much to the surprise of the others. “If Mister Aizawa didn’t tell you, I don't see any reason why I should spill the beans either.” Hado explained. Most of class 1-A frowned at the response.
“It doesn’t matter. I don’t need to know who this b-lister is, I’ll still thrash them before they know what hit them!” Bakugo declared proudly. Hado’s laughter echoed through the air a moment later. “What!? Don’t think I can beat this shitty extra!?” Bakugo yelled. Hado’s laughter died down a moment later, and a small gleam appeared in her eye.
“I am a third year hero student, and I’m not even confident I could beat the person you’re about to meet.” Hado stated. Most of class 1-A shivered at the certainty in Hado’s tone. But Bakugo just smirked.
“Then I’ll make sure to beat this person! I’ll show you, and the rest of the other third years, that I’m better than you!” Bakugo dearled, with certainty in his voice. Hado just stared at him in response before a smile appeared on her face.
‘Well, I can see now why UA let the special guest go up against the first year’s this time around.’ Hado thought to herself.
“What’s all this racket about?” Shota Aizawa’s voice cut through the lull in noise and everyone in class 1-A straightened up to varying degrees.
“Nothing sir, just discussing why we’re here.” Iida stated. Aizawa glanced at the boy before looking over to Hado.
“What are you doing here Hado?” Aizawa questioned. The girl smiled in response.
“You think I’m gonna miss my chance to meet this hero sooner than the rest of my class?” Hado questioned. Aizawa simply rolled his eyes, and lowered his head so his mouth was hidden behind his scarf.
“You can stay, but don't interrupt the “lecture” until it’s over.” Aizawa stated firmly. Hado leaned forward a little and placed her hands on the rail at the edge of the seating area.
“Oh please Mister Aizawa.” Hado began a small smirk appearing on her face. “We both know what happens when a special guest is brought in.” Hado finished. Aizawa rolled his eyes again. But for those who looked closely they could see the edges of a giant grin on Aizawa’s face. The entirety of class 1-A shivered at Hado’s tone, though Bakugo still wore a confident grin, and Todoroki looked indifferent to the whole event. The others were either nervous, frightened, or preparing themself for what’s to come.
“Alright class, I think Hado did a good job of painting you part of the picture, but let me make this clear.” Aizawa began. All of class 1-A focused on their teacher listening closely. “UA brings in special guests every year for the hero classes to test their skills against. Most of the time only the second and third years are allowed to go up against the special guest, but this year Nedzu out did himself and decided to bring in someone who would click the most with the first years.” Aizawa explained. He wavered his hand behind him, and not a moment later footsteps echoed from the corridor Aizawa had just come out of. “Let me introduce you to one of the youngest heroes to ever breach the top fifty in the rankings.” Aizawa started, he moved out of the way of the entrance and soon a person became visible. Long curly green hair fell from their head, sharp green eyes scanned over the crowd of students, and her face was stuck into a stoic look. Yaoyorozu’s breath hitched as the person stepped into the light letting the entire class see the person in all their glory. She wore red heeled boots that ended at her ankles, with gold lining above the feet and on the sides of the ankles. She wore long black tights that ended with red trimming at the top. She wore a fancy red and gold skirt, with black straps and gold lining attached at her hips. A maroon cloth fell over her crouch, held in place by a red strap going along her hips. The rest of her torso was exposed, minus the strap that covered her chest completely. Her shoulders and the top of her forearm were visible, while the rest of her arms were covered by red arm guards that had gold detailing on them. The last thing of note was a red choker wrapped around the girl’s neck with two small green gems impeded at the front of it. A second person appeared right next to the green haired girl to everyone’s surprise. She wore a matching outfit to the other girl, but this one was a dirty blonde with her hair tied up into a ponytail, the choker around her neck was gold with red gems in it, and to top it all off, the blonde was a few inches shorter than the green haired one. “Let me introduce you all to the number 37th ranked hero in Europe, Avalon, and Clarent.” Aizawa introduced. There was a moment for silence before the blonde, Clarent, spoke.
“So these are the arrogant brats we have to whip into shape.” Clarent remarked. Her Japanese was flawless, but had a noticeable accident. Clarent leaned back in place a little and tilted her head back so she was looking back at the green harried girl. “I guess you were right Avalon, maybe it wasn’t worth coming to Japan if these are the kids we have to deal with.” Clarent stated. The comment got a small snort out of Avalon, the green haired girl sprouting a smile on her face, that Clarent matched with almost the same fondness in her eyes.
“Yeah, no one really stands out amongst the crowd.” Avalon agreed before turning over to the benches above. “Though she looks interesting.” Avalon stated. Clarent flicked her eyes over to Hado with her partner who was waving at them with an eager smile on their face.
“Show them who's boss, girls!” Hado shouted down to her. Avalon and Clarent’s smiles both turned into smirks as they gave the girl a thumbs up. Everyone in class 1-A blinked at the unity of the two’s movements. Bakugo began shaking for some reason and some of his classmates were glancing at him warily.
“Ah mon ami, a fellow European, and the famous Avalon, and Clarent at that! Oui these are the perfect people for me to share the spotlight with!” Aoyama declared happily. Avalon and Clarent glanced at the boy.
“I’m sorry to rain on your parade but if you wish to share the spotlight with us, you’ll have to prove yourself first.” Clarent declared.
“I apologize if this is rude, but who exactly are you two?” Uraraka questioned. Avalon and Clarent both looked over to Yaoyorozu. who seemed to be brimming with excitement.
“They’re the amazing power duo in Europe that has taken the world by storm.” Yaoyorozu began with excitement in her tone. “Right after they finished schooling for hero work they began rising in the rank at a rapid pace, they started off as sidekicks to Pendragon, the number three hero in Europe, and within the first two months had already left her agency and had cracked the top 250 in the hero rankings. Their rise through the rankings shattered nearly every single record in the world. By the time they turn nineteen most people think that they'll have set the world record for youngest hero to ever break into the top ten hero rankings in the world.” Yaoyorozu explained happily. Avalon and Clarent giggled at the girl’s actions.
“I see we have some fans in the halls of UA.” Avalon commented.
“A fan!?” Yaoyorozu almost sounded offended by the word. “No you’re one of my inspirations, I hope to be capable of even a fraction of what you do when I become a pro hero!” Yaoyorozu declared. Avalon smiled at the words.
“Just keep up with that attitude and I’m sure we’ll be hearing about you in Europe in no time.” Clarent responded. Everyone in class 1-A was now looking at the girl’s in front of them with tiny bits of awe and surprise in their eyes, all save for one.
“You think Deku is worth all this attention!?” Bakugo screamed. Everyone’s eyes turned to Bakugo, who had a mad look in his eyes. Aizawa shifted and began to open his mouth, but then he caught sight of Avalon raising her hand and looking towards him with a serious look on her face. Aizawa saw a look in the girl’s eyes, and he closed his mouth and began walking further away from the entrance and to the side lines. “She is worthless, she doesn’t even have a quirk!” Bakugo yelled. Everyone save Hado, Yaoyorozu, and Aoyama were taken aback by the statement. Bakugo glared at Avalon, his hands sparking and popping as the green haired girl stared at him with a stoic look on his face.
“This lecture is a group fight against Avalon and Clarent, if you manage to defeat them you automatically pass heroics for the semester. Other than that the only other thing to note is that anyone who survives longer than five minutes will automatically get an A+ on all their midterms.” Aizawa explained from where he was leaning against the wall of the gym, Hado hanging right above him, snickering at his explanation. “You will not be graded otherwise for your performance in this lecture, however I will bump your overall grade down in my class if you do not participate.” Aizawa warned. The entity of class 1-A, minus Bakugo, flinched. Each one of the group fell into a hesitant battle stance, while Bakugo had a mad grin on his face.
“It looks like everyone is passing heroics this semester, because I’m going to reduce Deku to nothing but ash before this is over.” Bakugo declared proudly. Clarent’s eyes twitched at the statement.
“We’re going to give that boy an ego check.” Clarent muttered. Avalon nodded in agreement, holding out a right hand towards her partener.
“Will you share a dance with me, milady?” Avalon asked with a smile on her face. Clarent blushed a little, but smiled brightly in response.
“Of course I will!” Clarent responded, grasping onto Avalon’s hand tightly.
“Begin!” Aizawa called out. Not a moment after the words left his mouth Bakugo launched himself forward with an explosion. He was upon Clarent and Avalon a moment later with a mad grin on his face. Clarent glowed bright red and a moment later she had disappeared into thin air, Bakugo didn’t care one bit and kept flying towards Avalon with a hand outstretched in front of him small pops coming out of his hands. Avalon stood still as an item took shape in her right hand. At that moment Bakugo finally closed the distance the palm of his hand was right in front of Avalon’s face.
“DIE!” Bakugo shouted and his hand grew bright red. Not a fraction of a second later Bakugo found a foot deep in his chest, and all the air left his stomach. Bakugo went flying backwards, and he crashed into the opposite side of the arena out cold as his hand stopped glowing red. Avalon had a large grin on her face as she lowered her foot back to the ground and pointed the sheathed sword now in her right hand at the remainder of the class.
Mordred Emiya aka Clarent
Quirk: Bonded Sword
When Mordred forms a deep enough bond with someone, she is able to turn into a sword for them. While turned into a sword the bonded person becomes more powerful in accordance to how strong the bond between the person and Mordred is.
Avalon looked at the rest of class 1-A with a focused look in her eye. “Anyone else want to try charging in recklessly?” Avalon asked. Some glanced at the unconscious form of Bakugo nervously. Other’s looked at Avalon and were frightened. Ten seconds of silence stretched on before Avalon spoke again. “Very well then, I guess I’ll come to you.” Avalon declared. She pushed herself off the ground using her back foot and became a blur to the students eyes. The next thing the students knew was a shout of surprise from Kamairai, then Sero, then Iida, followed by Uraraka. Everyone still standing looked over to the four and found Avalon standing in the middle of them, with the other four all being out cold on the ground. Avalon turned back towards the rest of them, and became a blur again in the next moment. The next thirty seconds was spent in utter terror for the Class 1-A students as each and every one of them dropped like flies in seconds. Almost everyone in the class took only a second to dispatch, save for Todoroki who was able to put up a five second resident via a shield of ice, but even that didn’t last long before he was also out cold on the ground. The only people left at the end of it all were Yaoyorozu, and Aoyama. Who were staring around at their classmates in surprise, shock, awe, and terror. “I’ll give you one chance to surrender or-
“We surrender!” Yaoyorozu and Aoyama exclaimed before Avalon even finished her sentence. She smirks in response, placing the sheathed sword on her shoulder and looking at it with a smile. In the next second the blade glows red and then Clarent was standing next to Avalon once again with a matching smile on her face.
“I was expecting something a little more fun, but this was still entertaining.” Clarent commented before yawning a bit. “Anyways, I want to grab something to eat. Know any good restaurants in the area?” Clarent asked, turning to Avalon.
“I haven’t been back to Japan in over a decade, I don’t think I even remember where to find a good restaurant.” Avalon answered. Clarent frowned in disappointment.
“Oh I know a good place just outside of campus grounds!” Hado stated, as she floated down next to Clarent and Avalon. “I’d be willing to show you where it is, if you let me join you during your meal.” Hado added, a sly smile on her face.
“You clever girl.” Clarent muttered. The blonde turned to Avalon and gave her a toothy grin. “I say we dine with the girl, what do you say?” Clarent asked. Avalon nodded in agreement.
“I see no reason not to.” Avalon stated.
“You wouldn’t mind if we joined you?” Yaoyaorzu asked. Aoyama and her approaching the pair.
“Sure why not, the more the merry.” Clarent exclaimed. She turned her head towards Aizawa. “Well as long as it’s okay with your teacher.” Clarent added. Aizawa waved them off a moment later.
“Talking with pro’s is a perfect excuse to miss the rest of class.” Aizawa stated. He then looked to the still unconscious group of students around the gym. “Not that there will be much of a class anymore to begin with.” Aizawa muttered. Avalon and Clarent didn’t even look guilty at the comment.
“Well you did ask us to strike the fear of god into them, and I do believe it worked.” Avalon responded. Aizawa simply nodded in return.
“That it did, that it did.”
After the event Izumi and Modred were asked to stay in Japan until the Sports Festival had wrapped up. And seeing how they had a new group of friends to hang out with for the time being, the two girl’s decided to stay in Japan for the time being. Not only to hang out with their friends, but to also teach them some lessons while they were at it.
