Work Text:

Izuku had clearly been in a bad mood all day. He’d stared off into space during class, replied to questions with grunts, and barely even written in his notebook. Come lunch time, his concerned friends finally dragged him to a table in the back of the cafeteria and asked him, nearly at the same time, “What’s wrong?”

Startled by three loud voices, Izuku looked up. “Oh, it’s nothing.” He scratched the back of his neck. “I’m sorry.”

Clearly it was not nothing. Shouto, Tenya, and Ochaco waited in silence for Izuku to continue.

After hemming and hawing, Izuku finally admitted, “My father returned from his job in America. Apparently he’s not happy that I’m attending U.A. He’s always disliked heroes. But what makes him think he has a say after being gone so long? He just expects us to pick up where we left off! He’s acting like he wasn’t gone for years with some weird excuse about how he ‘lost track of time.’ Excuse me, who mislays a decade of time? Does he think he’s an immortal cryptid? To make matters worse, he gave me all this anti-hero propaganda and ordered me to read it like homework!” Izuku threw up his hands. “Even Mom won’t save me because she thinks it’s her duty to ensure we have a good relationship. I know she’s not happy with his absence either, but in front of me she always makes excuses for him.”

Shouto groaned in sympathy. “Fathers are the worst.”

“I can’t say the same, my dad is the best in the universe,” Ochaco said. She shook her head. “I can’t imagine how I’d feel if he abandoned me, then showed up like nothing happened. I’m sorry.”

Cheerfully, Tenya said, “I would probably kill him.” Then he continued eating his lunch as the others stared at him. From anyone else, they would have taken it as a joke, but Tenya did have a history of jumping to straight to murder when upset.

“It gets worse.” Izuku fiddled with his fingers. “I need both of my parents to sign the permission slip for me to attend the Forest Training Camp. My dad won’t sign. I’ve tried begging, silent treatment, even bribing him with demon king merch. He keeps insisting he doesn’t have confidence in U.A.’s safety standards. He’s even played on Mom’s anxiety to make her hesitate. But I know he just wants to sabotage my hero career.” Izuku put his head down on the table. “Sorry, it looks like I can’t go with you all.”

Shouto patted his back. “That’s horrible. I could stay behind so you don’t feel lonely.”

“No, I can’t ask such a great sacrifice from you.” Izuku shook his head vigorously. “This is your rare chance to get away from your own father.”

Ochaco said, “My parents can barely afford the camp fee, maybe I should be the one to stay behind.”

Tenya said, “Maybe you should—”

Shouto held up his hand. “As tempting though I agree it is, murder isn’t always the solution. Hisashi Midoriya is an ordinary citizen, not some kind of villain. All fathers deserve to die, but unfortunately, killing him could derail our friend’s hero career.”

“I wasn’t going to suggest murder. This time.” Tenya glared. “You’re the one who jumped straight to patricide. I was going to suggest annoying him into submission.”

Ochaco clapped. “What a surprise from our teacher’s pet class president!”

Tenya adjusted his glasses. “Many unpleasant reporters have plagued our family in the past. I’m well-versed in the art of being annoying in return.”

“I like it.” Izuku sat up straight. “Maybe it’s time to remind my dad why America is more pleasant for him. If he snaps at me, then Mom will finally take my side.”

Shouto tapped his chin in thought. “Should we try practical jokes? Destroying his belongings? Framing him for crimes? If you change your mind about patricide, then I’m available to provide an alibi.”

“There’s an even better way to annoy any parent.” Tenya steepled his fingers together. “This idea comes straight from my amazing big brother.”

The other three leaned closer, eager to hear the wisdom of the legendary Tensei Iida.

Tenya said, “My parents are a tad old-fashioned. They wanted to arrange a marriage between my brother and a high-ranking hero. Tensei fell in love with Masaki Mizushima—aka Manual, the Normal Hero. But he was afraid our parents would act like a low-ranking hero wasn’t good enough for the Iida family. So Tensei paid Gunhead to pretend to be his boyfriend for a dinner. Gunhead played up his bad boy image and acted like the rudest, most repellant future son-in-law ever. He contrived to break a plate, drip half his meal down his face as he ate, and spill a drink on my mother. Then afterward, Tensei pretended to dump Gunhead and brought his real boyfriend to dinner. Our parents were so relieved, they gave Manual an extremely warm welcome.”

“Clever,” Ochaco said. “You’re saying that Deku could pretend to have a horrible significant other, then offer to dump them if his dad signs his permissions slip.”

“Your brother is as wise as you always say.” Shouto nodded.

Tenya beamed. “Yes, he is. My brother is the physical manifestation of perfection—”

Izuku raised his hand to cut off another rant about the greatness of Tensei Iida, best brother in existence. “You might be onto something. My dad is already weirdly touchy about me dating. It has something to do with his brother.”

“You have an uncle?” Ochaco asked curiously.

“Apparently my uncle and my dad are estranged because my dad didn’t like Uncle Yoichi’s choice in romantic partners. Dad says that Uncle Yoichi died because of his evil spiky-haired boyfriends, but I was never totally clear if he was literally dead or if Dad just disowned him. My father can be dramatic.” Izuku made a face. “In my anti-Hero Society ‘homework,’ my dad rants for pages about how much he hates the two brother thieves and all spiky-haired people. Apparently my uncle had two partners, one with spiky red hair and another with blue hair in a spiky ponytail. My dad claims those two kidnapped my uncle and then brainwashed him, but this is my dad talking, so I’m sure his version with the weird bank vault thing isn’t accurate. Dad still thinks All Might brainwashed me as a child using subliminal messages in his commercials.”

“Not All Might, but I’ve heard some advertisers do use subliminal messages.” Shouto cut himself off as the others gave him a look clearly telling him this was no time for a conspiracy theory.

Izuku tapped his chin. “I could get my dad to sign my permission slip by manipulating this sore spot, and maybe even more concessions too.”

Shouto said, “This is an excellent plan. I volunteer to pretend to be your absolutely awful boyfriend.”

Ochaco stuck up her hand. “And I can pretend to be the worst girlfriend ever. Between the two of us, we can imitate both of your uncle’s boyfriends.”

Tenya said, “I would offer to help too, but this task doesn’t play to my strengths. Adults always like me.”

Izuku patted Tenya on the back. “You’ve already done me a huge favor coming up with this idea.”

Tenya smiled. “The credit goes to my big brother. Who continues to be the best ever. If this works, then you owe me an hour-long rant about how I won the brother lottery.”

Shouto said, “Please let us look at your father’s notes, so we can better imitate the spiky-haired duo that he hates.”

Izuku said, “I’ll bring you copies tomorrow. Thank you so much, you’re doing me a huge favor.”

Ochaco bounced in her seat. “It’s a pleasure! I’ve always wanted to pull off a romcom plot.”

Ahead of the great predestined meet-the-father, Ochaco and Shouto met outside U.A. to plan their strategy. Shouto showed up with his hair dyed all red and gelled into spikes. He’d even put in red contact lenses. Since Shouto had a scar across his face, they’d both agreed he should copy the red-haired one with the facial scar. He wore a tattered sleeveless black trench coat and black fingerless gloves. The dragon tattoo on his right shoulder and oni tattoo on his left shoulder looked like yakuza tattoos. A skull piercing dangled from his ear, and a ring from his nose.

Ochaco clapped. “You look fantastic! You went all in.”

“You did too,” Shouto said.

“Thanks!” Ochaco wore a blue wig with a very spiky ponytail. Spinning around, she showed off her golden booty shorts, sequined knee-high boots, and a black top that looked more like a sports bra, with a naval-baring keyhole shaped like a dollar symbol. “I decided to lean into the trashy braindead gold digger angle. Do you think my shirt is too unsubtle?”

“From what I’ve heard about Mr. Midoriya, unsubtle is necessary,” Shouto said. “I’m playing the part of the borderline abusive bad boy.” His nose ring slipped off. Quickly, he caught it and stuck it back in. “Ugh. These piercings are all clip-ons, and I’m not used to keeping them in. The tattoos are temporary, I hope they last.” He hiked up his coat and tightened his belt. “These clothes are a bit too big. I borrowed them from my oldest brother. He’s a villain named Dabi, and sometimes he drops by our house at night to do his laundry.”

Ochaco blinked. “Um, should you tell a teacher about that?”

Shouto shrugged. “I would, but it will be too funny when my dad finds out. I can’t ruin that moment. Besides, Dabi is cool. He gives me tips on how to annoy our dad. He even helped me dye my hair, after I told him about the plan. He approves of tormenting fathers.”

“Does your brother know you stole his clothing yet?”

“That’s a problem for future Shouto.”

With a chuckle, Ochaco said, “I’m just glad Mrs. Midoriya won’t be home today. Thank goodness Izuku arranged our surprise meeting while she’s off at her bookclub. I’d hate to make an impression like this on her.”

“Me, too. I’ve been practicing my scowl in front of the mirror.” Shouto furrowed his brow. “I borrowed this glare from my oldest brother. Do I look brooding enough?”

“You look like a dangerous criminal,” Ochaco said. “Any father will hate you. Though weren’t Izuku’s uncles all heroes?”

“From what I read, his uncle Yoichi was a hero, but the other two were dangerous vigilantes.” Shouto shrugged. “We’re going more off Mr. Midoriya’s impression than objective reality, and he rants a lot in his hate journal about how those two were unintelligent thugs.”

“Knowing you, I’m sure you did your research and came up with the best possible plan.” Ochaco smiled. “This will be fun! I haven’t gotten a chance to use my acting abilities since my middle school theatre club. I was Cosette in Les Miserables, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, and Heather Chandler in Heathers the Musical.”

Shouto sighed. “I always wanted to be in a school play, but my dad used to homeschool me with private tutors. This is my big chance!”

Izuku ran over, waving. He double-took. “Whoa, you two look perfect! I can’t believe you pulled off such similar hairstyles just based on my dad’s angry sketches.”

“Why, thank you.” Shouto bowed.

Izuku pulled out a diamond bracelet and fastened it around Ochaco’s wrist. “You look deeply inappropriate for a meet-the-parents, and I mean that as high praise. This bracelet is a family heirloom, so make sure my dad sees it.”

She saluted him. “Aye-aye!” The bracelet slipped, a bit too big for her. It had a masculine style with two layers of sterling silver chains. She tied a handkerchief around her wrist to keep the bracelet in place.

“This is going to be glorious,” Izuku said gleefully. “Whether I get my permission slip signed or not, at least I’ll have my revenge.”

“We’ll do our best,” Shouto and Ochaco chorused.

Together, they headed for the Midoriya residence.

Naked except for his underwear, Dabi glared at the empty dryer. Dammit! He should have known that all little brothers were thieves. After stealing his coat, Shouto had left a note and blue jeans with a T-shirt. But Dabi refused to be caught dead in that preppy outfit. Instead, he was going to wait here until his little brother came home. Under his breath, Dabi muttered, “Shouto is dead when I get my hands around his neck.”

Unfortunately, even a low voice drew attention from someone passing by in the hallway. Endeavor opened the door, then gaped. “You appear to be a naked man standing in my laundry room.”

“Mostly naked. Great insight, forever number two.” Dabi crossed his arms and refused to make any effort to cover up as he stared his sperm donor down. Dammit, years of sneaking around the laughably easy security system, and this was how he got caught? Little brothers ruined everything!

“Are you…dating Fuyumi?” Endeavor asked slowly.

“Ew, that’s my sister,” Dabi blurted out without thinking. Aargh! There went his big dance reveal!

Endeavor toppled over in a dead faint.

Dabi poked the body. “If I spill alcohol on him, maybe I can convince him this was all a drunk hallucination.”

Izuku pushed open his front door. “Dad, I have a surprise for you!”

Sitting in an armchair in the living room and reading a comic book, Hisashi glanced up. “Is this another bribe to persuade me to sign the permission slip to your death trap of a camp?”

“No, I’ve given up.” Izuku sighed theatrically. “The only possible way for me to assuage my disappointment about not attending camp with everyone else at U.A. would be for me to date not one, but rather two spiky-haired people.”

“You must be kidding—” Hisashi dropped his comic as he laid eyes on Shouto and Ochaco with their respective red and blue spiky hair. “Second and Third?!” He clutched his chest as if having a heart attack. Shouto and Ochaco exchanged glances, a bit confused by the numerical names but pleased their disguises seemed to be working.

“I just find the spiky hair irresistible,” Izuku said brightly.

“The family curse!” Hisashi gasped.

Ochaco’s demeanor shifted, from the cheerful girl who had vowed to help her friend to a ditzy expression. She grabbed Hisashi’s limp hand and shook it. “Nice to meet you, future father-in-law.” She gazed closely at his watch. “Longines Automatic Stainless Steel? Worth at least a hundred thousand yen. Oh yes, I’ll be marrying into this family as fast as I can baby trap. Kids can be safely ignored in a family wealthy enough to afford a nanny.”

Hisashi sputtered, eyes fixed on her hair, barely seeming to register her words.

Shouto swaggered in, plopped down on the sofa, and put up his feet (still wearing shoes) on the coffee table. Although not as skilled an actor as Ochaco, he made up for it with extra drama. He demanded, “Why is your hair white? Are you old?”

“Get those shoes off,” Hisashi hissed.

Shouto shrugged. “Whatever, boomer.” He did not move.

Ochaco and Izuku sat on the couch too, with Izuku in the middle. Putting his arms around both of them, Izuku said brightly, “All three of us are in a triad.”

“Money is the fourth person in our relationship,” Ochaco said, raising the diamond bracelet to her lips and kissing it.

Hisashi dissolved one of Shouto’s boots with a subtle quirk that no one else noticed. Before he could do the other one, he noticed the bracelet. “Excuse me? Is that the bracelet I gave my dear departed little brother for his birthday? Then he refused to join the family business so I had to take it back.”

“Worth over a million yen.” Ochaco giggled. “I already have a few buyers lined up. Then I’ll double the money betting on horses.”

Izuku sighed dreamily. “She’s beautiful and smart.”

In his fury, Hisashi lost control of his ability and decayed half a throw pillow. He shoved it behind his back to hide it. His wife would not be happy.

With a sneer he’d copied from Dabi, Shouto demanded, “Give me your phone so I can install an app to track your location.”

“I’m too much in love to resist,” Izuku said in a very flat voice. He was clearly the worst actor of the bunch.

Hisashi blinked. “What, you don’t have that already? Isn’t it normal to track your loved ones?”

Realizing he’d failed, Shouto switched tactics. “Get into the kitchen and make me a sandwich.”

“I’m helpless to resist your animal magnetism,” Izuku said, then turned away quickly to disguise his laugh.

After Izuku left the room, the three of them stared each other down. Hisashi cleared his throat. “Are you two from that dreadful child soldier factory masquerading as a hero school?”

Ochaco shook her head and lied, “No, school made me sleepy, so I dropped out. I want to be a stay-at-home mother. But without children. Or pets. Or doing chores. Or staying at home, I’m a party girl at heart. Basically I just want someone to bankroll my life while I contribute absolutely nothing in return.”

From the kitchen, Izuku called, “I love how honest you are, darling.”

Ochaco said, “I love how gullible you are, piggy bank.” She pretended to check a message on her phone. “Excuse me, I need to reply to this text from my other sugar daddy—I mean, a good friend.”

Hisashi growled. His eyes flashed light, then the bracelet vanished from Ochaco’s wrist and appeared in his pocket without her seemingly noticing. In reality, she didn’t care since she’d been planning to return it after the ruse finished.

Determined not to be outdone in the acting department, Shouto said, “I’m more vigilante material than a hero. I specialize in stealing other people’s little brothers and sons. That’s my school major.”

“I would believe U.A. has such a detestable major,” Hisashi muttered.

Izuku returned with a platter of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, each cut into halves. “I made enough for everyone.”

“You’re very kind, ducky,” Hisashi said, adding with a glare, “These two don’t deserve you.”

“Ack!” Izuku tripped on the edge of the carpet.

“Deku!” Ochaco leapt forward and touched him with her quirk to stop him from falling. Shouto caught the sandwiches and put a hand on Izuku’s back.

“Tha—” Izuku stared to say before giving them both frantic and worried looks.

Ochaco quickly covered up by slapping his shoulder. “Ugh, you nearly fell on me. Don’t you dare be so clumsy again. I hate physical contact with you.”

“I only saved the sandwiches,” Shouto claimed, sitting back down on the sofa with the plate.

“Sandwiches are way more valuable than your life,” Ochaco agreed.

Hisashi looked a combination of infuriated and confused. Izuku did his best to tip the needle in favor of fury: “I’m sorry I forced you to slap my lowly self.”

“Mmm, delicious,” Shouto said around a mouthful of food. “Uh. I meant to say, barely acceptable.”

Ochaco looked down at the handkerchief tied to her arm. “Oh, no, I lost my bracelet. Piggy bank, you’ll buy me a new one, won’t you?”

“I love your affectionate nicknames,” Izuku said. “You can have both a bracelet and a necklace, my spiky blue-haired angel.”

Shouto belched in an obviously fake way. “I demand beer!”

“At once,” Izuku said, turning around toward the kitchen.

Hisashi glared at the spiky-haired duo. “Since we have limited time before my son returns, I will be blunt. How much money do you require to break up with him?”

“I dunno,” Ochaco said. “I’d be giving up a steady paycheck for the rest of my life.”

“Money can’t replace the thrill of stealing other people’s relatives!” Shouto declared.

“How about power and influence?” Hisashi asked. “Do you want to be the next president of the HPSC? You could hardly do worse than the current one.”

“What’s the HPSC?” Ochaco asked. “Is that a boy band? LOL.”

Hisashi gazed at her in horror. “Did you just say the letters L-O-L out loud? Do you have no brains at all between the spikes on your head?”

Ochaco twirled a lock fallen from her fake ponytail. “I’m already president of the fanclub for a couple idols. I need somewhere to waste all my sugar daddies’ money. Ooo, that vase is worth at least fifteen thousand yen.” She emptied the flowers and water on the floor, then tucked the vase into her purse.

Izuku returned just in time to see Hisashi digging his fingers deep into the sofa arm and glaring at Ochaco as if strangling her in his imagination. All according to plan, of course. Izuku wondered why his face felt flushed and his pulse raced faster at the sight of Ochaco driving his dad utterly mental. It was even more beautiful than the moment at the Sports Festival when she’d nearly murdered Kacchan in cold blood.

Shaking off the strange feeling, Izuku handed Shouto a bottle of wine he knew his father had been saving. The date on it came from the dawn of the age of quirks. “Here, thief of my heart.” He’d already opened it.

“Hey, that’s my—” Hisashi protested.

Shouto took a sip, then spat it out directly at Hisashi’s face. The wine dripped down the angry father’s expensive suit. Shouto, who had never tasted alcohol before, gagged on the sour flavor. Then he tried to pretend he’d done it on purpose. “Serves you right for serving me swill instead of proper beer!” For good measure, he smashed the bottle on the floor.

Hisashi wailed as if the stain on the carpet had damaged his heart. Endless tiny screams sputtered from his lips like a broken record.

Izuku hid his massive grin behind his hand. His heart was beating so loudly it seemed strange that no one else in the room could hear it. Before, he’d thought Shouto had been his most entrancing when using his fire side for the first time. But watching Shouto drive his dad to the brink of a mental breakdown had completely overwritten Izuku’s heart.

Hisashi screamed, “You two, get a mop to clean this up! I need a moment alone with my son.”

Izuku wanted Shouto to have a chance to wash off his mouth, so he jerked his head at the door to indicate for them to leave. Besides, this way Izuku could negotiate and the other two could launch the second part of their plan.

Carefully, Hisashi pulled Izuku aside, stepping around the wet puddle. “Ducky, no matter how spiky their hair, you can’t possibly like those two. They’re imbeciles. I know you’re upset at me, but that’s no excuse to destroy yourself. What if I buy you a new All Might poster?”

“What if you sign my permission slip?” Izuku asked sweetly. “Then maybe I could meet someone more suitable.”

That last bit had been a tactical error. Hisashi looked horrified. “Among hero students? You could only go downhill!”

Izuku clenched his teeth in a fake smile. “If I was busier at school, then I wouldn’t have time to date at all. For example, if you allowed me to go to the training camp.”

Hisashi frowned, but he didn’t say no. Clearly he was wavering.

Shouto and Ochaco returned, each carrying boxes full of Demon King merchandise. Cheerfully, Ochaco said, “We broke into your vault for fun.”

With a wicked smirk, Shouto added, “We both happen to be expert vault breakers.” They’d been practicing nonstop for this part of the act.

Hisashi’s eyes went wide with terror. He rocked back and forth, seeming to be having a PTSD flashback.

Ochaco held up a Demon King figurine. “Dawn of the Age of quirks merch. I could sell this for about five million yen to the right collector.”

Hisashi straightened, surprise bringing him back to his senses. “That’s a very accurate assessment of value. You can’t be as stupid as your hair makes you look.”

Ochaco paled, then covered for her mistake: “Lucky guess! I’m not even sure which character this is a figurine of. Is it Hellboy?”

“Hellboy?!” Hisashi yelped. “That’s the Demon King from the comic Captain Hero. He’s the single greatest character in existence.”

“Oh, I watched Captain Hero as a kid,” Shouto said. “The show was trash! The animation was cheap, the plot lines were predictable, and the Demon King was the most basic villain in existence. Yawn, what kind of boring villain wants to take over the world? I skipped ahead to the part where the Demon King died, because that was the only funny bit.”

In reality, Shouto hadn’t had time to both learn how to break into vaults and watch Captain Hero. He’d just reversed everything Hisashi had written about the good bits of his favorite show in order to be annoying. It worked a little too well. Hisashi started exhaling smoke. The entire room shook with his fury. His eyes gleamed red, darkness pouring from the holes in his hands. The sky outside turned black. A nauseating pressure filled the air, seeming on the brink of a disaster.

Ochaco leapt in to lighten the mood. “Ooo, more loot.” She stole a painted egg off the mantle. “Nothing here is quite expensive enough to fund my trip to Korea to see all my favorite bands. Piggy bank, after you break your bones so many times that your body fails, can I sell your organs?”

“Anything for you, love,” Izuku said. “I’ll even sell my All Might collection to fund your trip.”

The pressure vanished. Hisashi threw back his head and laughed. “Nice try, ducky! You really had me going there. I know all about the wicked magnetism of spiky hair. But you’d sell every last bit of your body before you’d ever let go of a single piece in your collection.”

The three exchanged worried looks. Twisting his hands, Izuku said, “Uh, I’ve lost my mind to love?”

Hisashi snorted. “Or you faked this circus just to trick your poor old man into signing a permission slip.” He inclined his head at Shouto and Ochaco. “You two were skilled, but a bit too over-the-top for me to believe your acting. No one who’d ever seen Captain Hero could have an even worse take than Yoichi!”

Shouto gaped. “That’s the part you found hardest to believe?”

“Sorry, Deku,” Ochaco said, hanging her head.

“Don’t be,” Izuku said firmly. “You two were magnificent. I’ve completely lost my heart to your amazing performance. It turns out that rather than spiky hair, I love people who can drive my father insane. I’ve fallen in love with both of you.”

Shouto and Ochaco threw their arms around Izuku and blubbered an incoherent attempt to accept the confession.

Hisashi gulped. “This is still fake, right? Ducky? Please, I’ll sign any permission slip, just tell me that it’s fake!”

OMAKE TIME!

Izuku: I think my uncle is still alive, Dad just hasn’t spoken with him since he eloped with two spiky-heads.

All Might: The First One for All holder died in battle. It was a tragedy.

Yoichi: Nope, actually, I’m still alive. I got an immortality quirk forced on me, shared it with my partners, and now we all live on a small island. Big brother, stop telling people that I’m dead just because you don’t approve of my love life!

#

All for One: Don’t panic, if I can’t persuade my son to dump these losers than I can always lock him up in a bank vault.

Ochaco: We broke your vault door while stealing your merch.

Shouto: Then I set it on fire.

#

Second: What an amazing act, how did you come up with such a loathsome boyfriend?

Shouto: Uh, I was pretending to be you.

Second: Hey!

Shouto: Or rather, how All for One sees you.

Second: Yo, All for One, if I’m an idiot then what does that make you for losing your brother to me?

#

Tenya: I don’t think of myself as murderous. I’ve only ever tried to kill people who hurt my beloved big brother.

All for One: You, I like. Izuku can date you.

#

All for One: Of course the Forest Training Camp won’t be safe, I’m planning to send your brother and his group of villains to attack it.

Izuku: You cheated on my mom?!

All for One: Adopted brother. I thought you’d be more focused on the villainy.

Izuku: Your career (and your continued breathing) will cease to be an issue after Mom murders you for hiding a child from her.

All for One: You wouldn’t.

Izuku: MOM!

#

Izuku: Weird, why am I attracted to my friends when they annoy my dad?

Yoichi: Everyone in our family is anti-All for One sexual. The spiky hair is a red herring. I too fell in love with how much All for One hated my partners.

Notes:

Izuku didn’t know that his father was All for One, and he was playing with fire. If the masquerade hadn’t been revealed, All for One might have tried to murder Shouto and Ochaco. At least now he’ll be so relieved they don’t have spiky hair, it might put him in an accepting mood. Just imagine another meet-the-parents with Inko present too, and Shouto and Ochaco desperately trying to make a good impression to replace the bad one.

Edited to add: naelina drew adorable art of Shouto and Ochaco's outfits. I'm squealing at the cuteness. Check it out at https://www.tumblr.com/naelina/758300606191583232/fanart-of-shouto-and-ochacos-outfits-in
