Work Text:
Wei Wuxian thought about his husband’s passionate declaration at least once a day.
No matter how many times he relived that tender moment, his heart would flutter as if he were experiencing it for the very first time.
“You can try and see if I would deny you anything now,” he said to himself, imitating his husband’s deep, soft manner of speaking.
He squeezed a pillow to his chest and rolled around on the bed, flailing his legs back and forth.
When Lan Wangji said those words, it was like an arrow of love had been shot straight through Wei Wuxian’s heart. Not that he needed any outside help to fall in love with the man; he was already impossibly smitten with his husband.
Wei Wuxian had recited the phrase more times than he could count. And over time, he came to a gradual realization.
Lan Wangji’s words sounded more like a dare than a compliment. And Wei Wuxian liked dares.
Like a moth to a flame, Wei Wuxian was naturally drawn to mischief. And no matter what, he would find something that Lan Wangji would deny him.
But as he mulled about in bed, he realized that he was already… remarkably spoiled.
Though the entire Lan Clan was subject to strict wake times and had likely already been awake for hours, Wei Wuxian had only recently opened his eyes.
He had a bleary recollection of Lan Wangji’s attempts to wake him earlier, as he always did every morning. It was accompanied by the vague sensation of being kissed a few times, followed by the sound of soft footsteps leaving the room.
Lan Wangji was a stickler for the strict Lan Clan rules about waking on time, but he was surprisingly lenient when it came to Wei Wuxian.
With that, Wei Wuxian could already cross something off the list of things that Lan Wangji would deny him: sleeping in until noon.
He mentally ran through the rest of his morning routine - bathing, getting dressed, brushing and tying up his hair, preparing breakfast.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t much of an opportunity there, either.
Lan Wangji always insisted on taking care of all of it - and he usually did so while Wei Wuxian was still fast asleep.
Wei Wuxian glanced down at himself. As expected, his hair had already been neatly brushed, his crumpled robes had been replaced with fresh ones, and his body was wrapped in the pleasant smell of soap.
He sunk back into the sheets and imagined his husband’s handsome face as he gave his pillow another big squeeze.
“Oh, Lan Zhan!” he squealed.
Even Wei Wuxian couldn’t find the words to describe his heartfelt appreciation for his husband, who diligently pampered him each and every day.
He suddenly felt that finding something that Lan Wangji would deny him was going to be near impossible. But that wasn’t going to stop him from trying.
The sound of soft approaching footsteps pulled Wei Wuxian out of his daydream. He lazily turned his head to the side as the door was gently pushed open.
Lan Wangji carried a tray of steaming food and carefully placed it on the table. He then sat himself down on the bed and gently rubbed Wei Wuxian’s back.
“Wei Ying, you’re finally up,” he said softly with a smile. “Come, have breakfast.”
Wei Wuxian snuck a peek out the window, and the strong sunlight nearly blinded him. It was definitely way too late for breakfast. The rest of the clan had probably long since eaten lunch.
With a pouty face, Wei Wuxian flipped himself over and lifted his limp arms up into the air.
“Lan Zhan, carry me,” he said in a childish tone.
Lan Wangji didn’t hesitate in the slightest and offered his reply, “Mm.”
He effortlessly lifted Wei Wuxian into his arms and carried him over to the table.
Wei Wuxian salivated at the sight in front of him. The Lan Clan typically ate worse than rabbits, but today’s spread had been perfectly crafted and catered to his own palette.
There was rice, fish, steaming soup, tea, and even his favorite spicy sauce. The delectable smell wafted through the room and fueled Wei Wuxian’s growing appetite.
“Lan Zhan, am I dreaming? Did you make all this for me?” he asked, drool pooling in his mouth.
Lan Wangji nodded as he calmly weaved his hands through Wei Wuxian’s silky smooth hair, tying it up into a tight bun.
“You seem extra tired today. I have prepared food that will help you replenish your strength,” he replied.
“Lan Zhan, you’re the best!” Wei Wuxian smiled and leaned over for a kiss. His eyes suddenly flickered with mischievous delight as he remembered his new mission.
“You know, I am extra tired today. It’s pretty weird. I think I might be getting sick,” he said with an obviously fake cough.
He leaned harder against Lan Wangji’s chest and tilted his head back, fluttering his eyelashes a few times.
“Feed me?”
He opened his mouth like a baby bird and patiently waited for Lan Wangji to start feeding him. Sure enough, Lan Wangji picked up a pair of chopsticks and diligently offered him perfect portions of each dish until he’d had his fill.
Wei Wuxian’s eyes squinted as he smiled to himself in satisfaction. Being bathed, dressed, and handfed all fit within the scope of the mission. He’d cleared the first hurdle easily, but that was a given.
It was time to push the boundaries, just a little.
“Lan Zhan, what are you going to do today?” he asked, failing to realize that while he’d slept the morning away, Lan Wangji had already completed a myriad of tasks.
“I will be assisting Uncle with some reports,” Lan Wangji replied as he cleaned up the mess of empty plates. “Wei Ying, what will you do?”
Wei Wuxian tilted his head back and forth in contemplation. “Maybe I’ll just spend the day in bed.”
“Are you still feeling unwell?” Lan Wangji asked. He immediately set down the dishes that he’d been tidying up so he could press his hand against Wei Wuxian’s forehead.
“You do not have a fever,” he continued with a sigh of relief, though his furrowed brows still showed his deep concern. “It’s unlike you to sleep this long. You must tell me if something is wrong.”
Wei Wuxian wasn’t ready to confess that he’d actually been awake for a while and had just been swooning over Lan Wangji’s dreamy words for the millionth time.
“If I wanted to sleep all day, would you let me?” he asked instead with a playful grin.
“...Mm,” Lan Wangji replied after a brief moment of contemplation. “It is best for you to rest if your body needs it,” he added.
He ran his large hands across Wei Wuxian’s entire body, lifting his arms and spinning him around to thoroughly check him for injuries. Once he’d confirmed that not a hair on Wei Wuxian’s body was out of place, he reluctantly let him go.
Wei Wuxian couldn’t fight the happiness warming his entire body. Sleeping all day had also passed the test.
Though he was tempted to keep laying in bed, preferably with Lan Wangji, he had more important things to do; namely, continuing with his mission.
“I’m just screwing with you, Lan Zhan. I feel fine,” he said with a smile.
Lan Wangji didn’t look entirely convinced, but his stern face still softened up a bit.
“What will you do, then?” he asked.
Wei Wuxian shrugged. He hadn’t actually thought that far ahead. “Maybe hang out in the Library Pavilion?”
Lan Wangji’s eyes widened slightly, enough to make Wei Wuxian feel a bit insulted.
“Lan Zhan, what’s with that look? Even I like to read sometimes,” he said, preemptively defending himself from whatever mildly insulting words were sure to come out of Lan Wangji’s mouth.
“...And what kind of books are you planning to read?” Lan Wangji asked. There was a deep sense of apprehension seated on his face.
Wei Wuxian chuckled. “It’s nothing like what you’re thinking, I swear. You already confiscated all of my erotic books, remember?”
He flashed a playful wink at his husband, who exhaled a heavy sigh and nodded.
“Alright,” Lan Wangji eventually replied. “Let us go, then. I will take you there before returning to Uncle,” he said as he stood up and extended a hand towards his husband.
Wei Wuxian’s eyes sparkled as another golden opportunity presented itself.
He dramatically flung himself to the ground and glanced up at Lan Wangji with big, innocent eyes. He rubbed his hips a few times while sighing deeply.
“Lan-er-ge, did you forget what you did to me last night? I don’t think I’ll be able to walk today after being screwed so damn hard,” he pouted.
Though the part about getting screwed into the ground was true, Wei Wuxian actually felt pretty good. Every day meant every day, after all, which also meant that his body had plenty of time to grow accustomed to Lan Wangji’s passionate techniques in bed.
He smiled devilishly when he caught sight of the inevitable blush that had spread to Lan Wangji’s earlobes.
“You gotta take responsibility for your actions, Hanguang-jun. You fucked me so hard that I can’t even stand up. The least you can do is carry me to the library, right?”
“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji said in a low voice. Though, the chiding tone of his voice betrayed his actions as he obediently scooped Wei Wuxian into his arms once more.
“Good boy,” Wei Wuxian whispered as he wrapped his arms around Lan Wangji’s neck, trailing his fingers along the length of his headband. “If you do a good job taking care of me today, I’ll give you a really nice reward later.”
He planted a light kiss on the end of the headband before using it to softly tickle Lan Wangji’s chin.
“... I have much to do today,” Lan Wangji forced out a reply as he stared down at the playful man nestled comfortably in his arms. “Do not tempt me.”
Wei Wuxian chuckled as he nuzzled himself against Lan Wangji’s neck. The scent of sandalwood was as strong and vibrant as ever, washing over him like a refreshing breeze.
“Alright, alright. I won’t tease you anymore… Lan-er-gege,” he whispered with a light kiss to the neck.
Lan Wangji stopped in his tracks and glared down at his lover. “Wei Ying.”
“Hmm? What’s wrong?”
Lan Wangji sighed again and silently shook his head as he carried his husband towards the Library Pavilion, ignoring the wide eyed stares from the Lan Clan disciples they passed along the way.
He gently placed Wei Wuxian down on a comfortable cushion nestled under one of the large windows. It had a perfect view of the garden and was enveloped in pleasant rays of light.
Wei Wuxian was determined to continue his mission to be as willful as possible. He collapsed into his seat and propped his feet up against the windowsill, happily soaking up the sunshine that spilled through.
“Lan Zhan, I wanna read something interesting today. Are there any good books here?” he asked.
It didn’t take long for him to receive his answer. Lan Wangji quickly gathered a tall stack of books on his behalf. His movements were swift and diligent, as he knew the layout of the library better than the back of his hand.
Wei Wuxian smiled as the pile of books grew and grew. A quick peek at some of the titles had him nodding his head in approval - Lan Wangji understood his taste better than anyone.
He mentally checked a few more items of his list - getting Lan Wangji to carry him around the Cloud Recesses and cater to all of his whims had been a resounding success so far.
“I think that’s enough books for now,” Wei Wuxian said with a nod. “Thanks, Lan Zhan.”
“Mm,” Lan Wangji replied, leaning down for a quick kiss. Wei Wuxian eagerly snatched the opportunity to pull him down with one strong tug to his headband.
He coiled his arms and legs around Lan Wangji like a snake and gripped him extra tight.
“Quickie in the library?” he casually suggested.
They still had the entire room to themselves, as the Lan Clan juniors were still all locked away in their classrooms for the day.
Lan Wangji took a series of deep breaths, desperately steadying himself in the face of his lover’s lecherous suggestions.
“...I am already late for my meeting with Uncle,” he finally said. Wei Wuxian swore he could detect a hint of disappointment in his voice.
Wei Wuxian clicked his teeth and shook his head in mock disapproval. “Lan Zhan, I’m disappointed in you. And here I thought you wouldn’t deny me anything.”
His breath hitched when Lan Wangji suddenly returned his embrace with an overpowering hug of his own.
“The library will be empty later tonight,” Lan Wangji whispered.
He left a few kisses on Wei Wuxian’s forehead before standing up and straightening his robes, fluffing them out a bit to cover the protruding evidence of his thoughts on the matter.
Wei Wuxian rolled onto his side and watched his husband awkwardly walk away with a smug smile on his face. He then jumped up and started flipping through the books that Lan Wangji had carefully selected for him.
The library had been empty when they first arrived, but the Lan Clan juniors gradually spilled in as the afternoon dwindled away and classes came to a close.
They all politely greeted their lackadaisical senior with respectful bows before scurrying on to complete their assignments.
A group of them huddled into the corner and curiously glanced over at Wei Wuxian, who was laughing loudly as he flipped through the pages of his book.
“What is going on with Wei-qianbei today?” one whispered. “He hasn’t left his spot for hours. He’s just… reading.”
Lan Jingyi had been the only one in the group bold enough to approach Wei Wuxian, asking him about his plans for the day. His boisterous, inconsiderate voice had interrupted their studies, after all.
His steps were heavy as he returned to his peers. He plopped himself down and joined them at their table, angrily glaring in Wei Wuxian’s direction.
“He’s waiting for Hanguang-jun to pick him up. He says he can’t walk on his own today. So shameless,” he grumbled. “He’ll probably be here all day. Let’s just ignore him and go somewhere else.”
The other boys nodded in agreement and moved their homework session to another building, as their loud senior had selfishly seized the library for himself.
As Lan Jingyi had predicted, Wei Wuxian spent the rest of the afternoon lazing about in the library until Lan Wangji finally came to pick him up - literally.
Wei Wuxian still insisted that his legs weren’t working properly, for reasons unclear to the naive juniors, and he beamed a bright smile as he was once again lifted into Lan Wangji’s strong arms.
“Lan Zhan, are you all done for the day?” he asked, settling into Lan Wangji’s broad chest.
“Yes,” Lan Wangji replied. He pressed a kiss to the crown of Wei Wuxian’s head.
“Great! Let’s go into town, then. I wanna do some shopping together, Lan Zhan. Please? Pretty please?”
It was becoming clear that he wouldn’t find anything that would push the boundaries of Lan Wangji’s promise within the Cloud Recesses. If he really wanted to test the limits, he’d have to make a scene somewhere else. And there would be no shortage of opportunities in the city.
“Is there anything in particular you need?” Lan Wangji asked.
“Not really. I just wanna spend some time with my husband,” Wei Wuxian playfully responded. “What do you say? Can you spare a little time for Wei Ying?”
Lan Wangji had been walking towards their room, but he quickly pivoted towards the gates of the Cloud Recesses upon hearing Wei Wuxian’s words.
“Of course. Let us go,” he said, attempting to hide the growing smile on his face.
Wei Wuxian grinned to himself. He would’ve pumped his fists up and down if he weren’t so tightly snuggled up against Lan Wangji.
Lan Wangji carefully propped him up on Little Apple and escorted him down the mountain, all the way to Caiyi Village.
Once they arrived, Wei Wuxian hopped off his trusty donkey and tied it up to a nearby tree. Lan Wangji offered to carry him around town again, expressing worry over his aching hips and back, but Wei Wuxian casually brushed him off.
He’d already thoroughly tested and proved that carrying him around like a princess all day was not a problem for Lan Wangji. And if he wanted to go even further, he’d need to scamper around a bit and look for trouble.
The pair leisurely strolled through the market, standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Wei Wuxian bounced from stall to stall like a child.
“Lan Zhan, I want that,” he said, pointing at a random trinket that caught his eye amongst all of the other goods for sale.
Without hesitation, Lan Wangji pulled out his coin purse and purchased the item. And the next one. And then the next one.
He didn’t ask questions as Wei Wuxian happily scurried about, grabbing items one after the other. Every time, he would silently place a few more coins on the table, nod to the shopkeeper, then trail behind his excited lover.
Wei Wuxian grinned as he eyed the growing pile of goodies in his sack.
He hadn’t really needed to test this particular theory; Lan Wangji never spared any expense on his behalf. On the contrary, it would be stranger if he suddenly refused to buy him whatever he wanted.
“Too easy,” he said to himself with a proud smile.
“What is too easy?” Lan Wangji asked.
“Nothing you need to worry about. Anyway, Lan Zhan. Here,” Wei Wuxian said, lifting one of the candies they’d bought up to Lan Wangji’s mouth.
“Say, ‘ah’.”
“Ah.” Lan Wangji calmly did as he was told, and his expression didn’t change in the slightest as he sucked on the tart candy.
“How is it? Good?” Wei Wuxian asked as he popped his own candy into his mouth. He always boasted about his strong palette, but the extreme tartness of the candy made him cough and choke a bit.
“It is fine,” Lan Wangji replied evenly. He didn’t show the slightest trace of discomfort as he swallowed the candy.
Wei Wuxian moped and made a series of strange faces, desperate to scrape the lingering flavor off his tongue.
“Lan Zhan, you’re crazy. That was way too sour. I think I need something sweet to cleanse my palette,” he pouted, coyly glancing up at Lan Wangji.
Lan Wangji didn’t need any more instruction than that. Without missing a beat, he leaned over and kissed his grumbling husband on the lips.
“Better?” he asked.
“Mm, much better,” Wei Wuxian replied with a grin. He nodded to himself in satisfaction. Feeding each other and kissing in public seemed to pass the test, too.
But Wei Wuxian was convinced he could do better. He wasn’t going to get any interesting results like this. And for whatever reason, he was compelled to do something a little bit… crazy.
He looked around as he pondered what to do next. And as he watched several happy families leisurely stroll by, a bright idea flickered through his mind.
“Lan Zhan, I’ll be right back. Let’s meet back here in thirty minutes or so, ‘kay?” he shouted, as he began sprinting off.
Before he could make it a few steps, Lan Wangji quickly captured him by the wrist and pulled him back to his side.
“What are you doing?” he asked, eyeing his husband with an incredibly suspicious and well-warranted glare.
“Hmm? Nothing, nothing. Don’t worry about it. I just need a little time by myself. I’ll see you soon.”
Wei Wuxian patted his confused lover on the chest a few times, pulled him down for a deep kiss, then dashed off into the sea of people.
Lan Wangji watched him run away with a puzzled look on his face.
The puzzled expression on his face grew immensely when precisely thirty minutes later, Wei Wuxian returned to their meeting spot with a toddler in tow.
“...Wei Ying? Where did you get that child?”
A young boy of about 3-4 years old dangled from Wei Wuxian’s arms. Wei Wuxian was holding him the same way he held rabbits: completely carelessly. The boy looked incredibly uncomfortable and silently stared up at Lan Wangji, as if pleading for help.
“Lan Zhan, look. Doesn’t this boy look familiar?” Wei Wuxian asked, swinging the child in his arms around a few times.
“No,” Lan Wangji swiftly replied. “I have never seen this child before.”
“No, no. You’re missing the point,” Wei Wuxian continued, bringing the child’s face right next to his own. “He looks kinda like me, doesn’t he?”
Lan Wangji tilted his head, giving this ridiculous situation a level of diligent consideration that it definitely didn’t deserve.
“...What are you trying to say?” he reluctantly asked.
“He’s mine. My long lost child,” Wei Wuxian casually replied.
Lan Wangji had moved to support the child that Wei Wuxian was dangerously dangling around like an animal, but he immediately tripped over his feet at his husband’s straightforward confession.
“...Stop joking around,” he said with a stern expression. But Wei Wuxian only doubled-down and sighed.
“Lan Zhan, look at me,” he said, stuffing the child under his arm so he could hold his fingers up against his heart, “I’m being completely serious here. I am… the father of this child.”
Wei Wuxian donned an uncharacteristically serious expression, and he steadied his gaze as much as possible in hopes of selling his boldfaced lie to Lan Wangji.
“I didn’t know how to tell you, so I’ve been keeping it a secret all this time,” he continued. He thought back to the taste of that painfully sour candy in an attempt to make his eyes water.
Lan Wangji stared blankly at him.
“...And when did this happen?” he asked. It was evident in his tone and expression that he didn’t believe a single word of his husband’s story.
“Let’s see,” Wei Wuxian tilted his head as he scrambled for an answer. “It must have happened back when I was the Yiling Patriarch.”
“...That was over 13 years ago. This child is no older than four.”
“Lan Zhan, don’t worry about the math. Stranger things have happened, right?” Wei Wuxian said with a laugh.
“And just so you know, Lan Zhan… You weren’t the only one lusting after me back then. I was pretty popular with the ladies,” he continued with a smug grin, even though all of his sexual experience had come from Lan Wangji.
Lan Wangji’s pale eyes narrowed as he folded his arms.
“Wei Ying.”
Lan Wangji never needed to say more than those two words to put his playful husband back in his place.
“I’m being serious here, Lan Zhan!” Wei Wuxian replied, staring back at his husband with fierce eyes. He took a few confident strides forward.
“I want…” he trailed off deliberately for added flair, “I want to raise this child together. Forget about everything else. You and I can give him a better life together. He deserves to know his father,” Wei Wuxian pleaded.
He tightly clutched the child against his chest. He paid no mind to the fact that they were in the middle of the street, drawing curious gazes from everyone within earshot.
The child remained as still as a statue as he was ruthlessly hugged. Wei Wuxian poked at his cheeks a few times to get a reaction.
“D-Daddy,” the child awkwardly responded, as if he’d forgotten his role in this insane act.
“...”
Lan Wangji continued to pierce Wei Wuxian with his stern gaze.
“Lan Zhan? Do I need to remind you of what you said before? I think it was something about never denying me anything,” Wei Wuxian said, acting as if he couldn’t recite Lan Wangji’s words backwards in his sleep.
Lan Wangji exhaled deeply and pinched his forehead.
“...Return the child to his family, Wei Ying.”
“But we are his family, Lan Zhan! I’m the father, so I guess that makes you his mother now.”
The child quirked his head to the side in confusion as he stared at Lan Wangji.
“Mommy?” he asked.
“Mm, that’s right. He’s gonna take good care of us. Your mommy is totally loaded, and he’ll buy us anything we could ever want,” Wei Wuxian said, showing off the bag of goodies he’d collected during their shopping trip.
“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji’s stern voice interrupted them.
Wei Wuxian had been scolded by his husband enough times to know that he wasn’t going to fall for his little charade.
He pouted as he reluctantly lowered the child to the ground.
“...Alright, fine. I lied. He’s not mine,” he conceded.
His footsteps were heavy as he begrudgingly followed the boy back to his true father, who had been watching the strange scene from a hiding spot around the block.
He spun around to Lan Wangji and held out his hands.
“I told him I’d pay to borrow the kid for 15 minutes. Can you cover the cost?”
Lan Wangji solemnly lowered his head, but he dutifully paid the family and even left the child with a piece of candy as a parting gift. He bowed respectfully before tugging his mischievous husband away by the arm.
Wei Wuxian furrowed his brows in contemplation, paying no mind to the fact that he was being dragged away like a small animal.
“Does this count as a pass or a fail?” he muttered under his breath.
Lan Wangji had refused to raise their child together. But it wasn’t actually their child to begin with, so it might not have counted as a true denial.
He suddenly realized that his surroundings were no longer familiar, and the light had been blanketed as they turned into a dark, remote alley.
“Lan Zhan, where are we going?” he asked as he glanced around. But just as he was about to step away and further examine his surroundings, he was pushed up against the wall.
Lan Wangji stared down at him. The gentle expression he’d shown the little boy had been replaced with a dangerous glare. It was enough to send shivers down Wei Wuxian’s spine.
“Lan Zhan, what are you - “
His lips were immediately sealed with a forceful kiss. Lan Wangji pinned him in place, kissing him with a surprising intensity that nearly took Wei Wuxian’s breath away.
Wei Wuxian tried to part their lips so he could quip back with something witty, teasing Lan Wangji for lusting after him so hard, but Lan Wangji grabbed the back of his head and pulled him close.
Lan Wangji ravaged his lips over and over. Once he’d teased him enough to prove a point, he lightly bit down on Wei Wuxian’s lower lip before slowly pulling away.
Wei Wuxian’s entire body trembled. His eyes were teary, his hands shook, and his knees went weak from the pleasure. There was no way he’d be able to walk without help.
“Lan Zhan, what the hell are you trying to do to me? This kind of thing isn’t good for my heart. I might melt on the spot,” he pouted. His quivering lips were extra red and plump from being teased so relentlessly.
Lan Wangji kissed away the little tears that had pooled at the corners of his eyes.
“You say you fathered a child,” he whispered in a low voice, “yet you still go weak from my kiss.”
Wei Wuxian was ready to melt to the ground. Lan Wangji’s sensual attack sent him spiraling, and his head nearly exploded from the suddenness of it all. His heart raced furiously in his chest.
Lan Wangji was getting dangerously good at seducing him.
“Lan Zhan, didn't I say you have to warn me before you do stuff like this? It’s not fair,” he said, placing a shaky hand against Lan Wangji’s sturdy shoulder for support.
“It is your fault for saying such nonsense. I don’t even want to imagine you doing those… things… with others,” Lan Wangji replied. His voice was uncharacteristically heavy and unsteady.
Though he was still reeling from the sudden kiss, Wei Wuxian eagerly latched on to the temporary weakness in Lan Wangji’s defenses.
“What things?” he prodded, a devious grin spreading across his face.
“...Do not make me explain,” Lan Wangji replied. He brought his lips to Wei Wuxian’s neck and nibbled down.
The hot breath caressing his sensitive neck made Wei Wuxian want to melt even more. He desperately craved and needed more of his husband’s fierce touch. And he knew the best way to get it was to keep pushing.
“Alright, Lan Zhan. You got me. I’ll admit that you were my first kiss,” his lips tilted upward as he deliberately hung on his words, “but I never said you were my last.”
There wasn’t an ounce of truth to his words. His lips belonged solely to Lan Wangji, in both of his lives. He would rather transcribe the entirety of the Lan Clan’s 3,000 rules over 3,000 times than even think about being intimate with someone other than his husband.
But his heart raced at the thought of teasing his normally calm lover into doing something a little wild.
“…What?” Lan Wangji couldn’t hide the shock in his voice.
Wei Wuxian rarely saw his husband get upset. But there was no denying that behind those pale eyes, Lan Wangji was kindling dangerous flames of jealousy.
“Who?” he nearly shouted, tightening his grip around Wei Wuxian.
Lan Wangji’s body normally ran cold, and touching his skin was like dipping into a cooling wave of water. Everything about the man was refreshing and calming.
But right now, his fingers burned with a feverish heat. His ironclad mask looked ready to crack at any moment. And with just one more little push, Wei Wuxian could send him over the edge.
“Hmm, I guess it’s hard to say. There were too many people to count,” he lied through his teeth.
His breath hitched as Lan Wangji forcefully pushed himself between his legs, rubbing their lower bodies close together.
“Wei Ying!” Lan Wangji yelled, his deep voice tinged with lust and anger.
Wei Wuxian smiled in delight. He knew that the best games involved a little bit of push and pull. He would offer Lan Wangji a little lifeline - a little reprieve - before teasing him once more.
“Lan Zhan, you really believe the shit I come up with? I’m just screwing around again,” he said, kissing Lan Wangji’s scowling face. “I’ve never kissed anyone else. Ever. You know you’re my one and only.”
There was a brief pause as Lan Wangji processed his words and exhaled a deep sigh of relief. But soon enough, Wei Wuxian found himself at his husband’s mercy again, being helplessly kissed.
“Do not even joke about such things. You are mine,” Lan Wangji reminded him with his blunt words and actions, emphasizing his point with another deep kiss. He swirled his tongue around in Wei Wuxian’s mouth, eliciting a few soft moans.
The dizzying intensity of Lan Wangji’s kisses made Wei Wuxian’s already shaky knees give out beneath him.
Though Lan Wangji didn’t give him much opportunity to use his lips for anything else, he managed to let loose a loud moan as Lan Wangji sunk his fingers deep into his hips.
“Yeah, you’re right,” Wei Wuxian continued between excited, labored breaths. “How could I ever have the chance to have a kid, let alone hold a girl’s hand. You never let me out of your clutches long enough to even try -”
His loose lips were silenced again.
Lan Wangji forced their burning lips and bodies even closer together. Wei Wuxian eagerly thrust himself forward, and as if by instinct, his hips began grinding against Lan Wangji’s.
The sensation was already too good, and he couldn’t stop himself from digging his fingers tightly into his husband’s broad shoulders.
He loved possessive Lan Wangji, and he couldn’t resist the urge to torment him even further, eager to find out what else he could tempt him into doing.
“Hey, Lan Zhan. What would you do if I did end up kissing someone else? If they pushed me down and had their way with poor little me,” he said, his voice naturally growing more excited the more lecherous and absurd his words became, “what would you do then?”
His cheeks flushed bright red from the excitement of simultaneously touching and teasing his lover. He wrapped his hands around Lan Wangji’s neck and pulled him dangerously close.
“If someone else wanted to fuck me… what would you do, Lan Zhan?” he whispered into his ear.
Lan Wangji groaned as he pounced on Wei Wuxian, tumbling with him onto the ground. His breath was labored and uneven, and his pale eyes flickered with burning intensity. His piercing gaze never left Wei Wuxian’s smiling face as he removed his headband with one swift motion.
“That will never happen… for the rest of your life!” he growled before sealing Wei Wuxian’s lips with yet another kiss.
He relinquished his iron hold on Wei Wuxian just long enough to tightly cinch his wrists together.
Wei Wuxian shuddered as waves of pleasure coursed through his veins. He’d finally found the thing that Lan Wangji would deny him. And it made him indescribably happy.
“Say, Lan Zhan,” he whispered, leaning up and nibbling Lan Wangji’s bright red earlobe, “how about that quickie?”
Lan Wangji was in no state to respond with words. He’d exerted so much energy into kissing Wei Wuxian that he was nearly left breathless. His chest heaved up and down as he fixed his gaze onto the flushed man eagerly writhing beneath him.
Wei Wuxian’s body heated up at the sight. He could feel his husband’s large heat pressing down against him, teasing him.
He wanted to see more. He needed to see more. Images of Lan Wangji’s bare body taking him for his own relentlessly played in his head.
He cried out in relief when Lan Wangji quickly lifted him into his arms, carrying him towards the closest inn with hurried steps.
Soon enough, he would get a sweet taste of reprieve. And while they were safely tucked away in their own private paradise, he would be free to torment Lan Wangji with his teasing words to his heart’s content.
Amidst that burning heat surging through his body, an overwhelming sensation of love washed over him. Lan Wangji had spent the whole day catering to his every whim. The mere memory of it made him heat up even more.
He couldn’t love his husband any more than this. He couldn’t want him any more than this.
“God, I love you, Lan Zhan,” he whispered.
Since his hands were still tightly bound, he licked his lips a few times and helped himself to Lan Wangji’s neck, sucking down with an intensity that matched his husband’s previous vigor.
