[ Max Verstappen the future Leader of the Dutch political party The Christian Democratic Appeal become a new member of the European Parliament ]
The news came this morning and Lewis couldn't believe this. Max Verstappen is joining the European Parliament. Lewis almost didn't recognize him. He read the news article after a colleague sent the link of the web article.
According to this article Max is the new face of the Right wing in the Netherlands and now he is part of the European Parliament and fighting against Lewis’s political party.
Reactions weren't long to come. Max has a lot of “fans” according to the "edits" made on TikTok; but a lot of videos are exposing his questioning ideas and choices too.
Lewis and Max have met each other when they both entered the University of Zurich in political science.
Lewis and Max’s friendship started when they were obliged to work in groups in an History class. They were glued to each other, if you wanted to see Lewis you just needed to find Max and vice versa if you wanted to talk to Max search for Lewis.
They did everything together, they stayed late in the University library to work together or revised for their exams.
Each time, one of them had finished their presentation and the other one was the first to applaud. They supported each other every time. And so on, other students suspected them to be together.
They weren't wrong though because when they were in the dark street of Zurich, in front of Lewis' porch, Max would grabb Lewis’ waist, pulling him closer and finally kiss him.
But the following day they would be just Max and Lewis just best fiends. In fact, other students had any proof so they didn’t say anything about the two of them.
The time went by and Max and Lewis filled the perfect love after school in each other's apartment.
But one day Max didn't come, Lewis became worried because Max wasn’t answering his texts nor his calls. So he showed up at his apartment but it was empty, like Max did not live here.
Lewis was made at the idea that Max didn't want to be with him anymore.
From there, Lewis wasn't the same anymore and his classmates couldn’t disagree. His temper was getting worse as well as his work.
After this news about Max, Lewis spent the day dwelling on his past with Max.
And Hell, these memories shook him up.
Lewis is going for the first time to Strasbourg since the announcement of Verstappen as a new deputee.
He doesn’t know why but a strange feeling, commonly called stress, grew up in him.
When all the deputies entered the lower chamber, Lewis sat on the left side with his party. Once seated Lewis looks at the party in front of him to just see Max.
This doesn't happened, because Max never showed up.
So Lewis just focused on the new law about refugees status after giving his vote and opinion on the law project, he excused himself and left for the toilets, feeling nauseous.
He locked himself in the toilet and when he finally got out of it, he found someone.
he could recognize him from the crowd, but just to be sure he obliged himself to look up in the mirror.
There he was.
Max Verstappen was here washing his hands.
Max felt a pair of eyes scanning him and turned himself to face his not so discreet spy.
“Are you spying on me Lewis?” says Max with a haughty attitude. Which made Lewis laugh.
"So, you like what…abandoned me like a stinking socks and the first thing you do before excusing you for what you did, is doing a fucking joke. Are you serious? Or can you be for a second? Because Me. I suffered because of you” replied angrily Lewis. “You disappears and come back in the party you hated the most what happened Max?” asks desperately Lewis
“You don't know what you’re talking about Lewis” Just says Max
“So tell me ! Explain me” begged Lewis
“Cause I can't recognise you anymore You are not my Maxy anymore" added sadly Lewis
"I’m Max now Lewis, Not Maxy" Just responds Max like he doesn't have feelings anymore.
"I didn’t want to leave you like a stinking socks according to you, but my father obliged me to, he saw our messages and forced me to dump you, and then he made me enter a right wing party after my degree, and I’m happy like that so please respect my choice” and like that he leaves the toilets letting Lewis alone without words.
Max had changed so much that he became more stranger to Lewis.
Lewis stayed here some long minutes alone in the toilets still with his nauseous feeling before leaving for another meeting in the parliament.
Today a debate takes place about refugees' status. And for this event, all journalists of European countries have been called to cover the event.
Of course, Max was there against Lewis in this debate.
The debate was entertained by left-wing party's arguments while the right wing party just booed when somebody wanted to speak.
At the end, nobody could agree on a solution so another debate was set in the following weeks.
Max rapidly left the assembly, and went to speak to the journalists who were waiting outside.
“Mister Verskappen, did you find an agreement with the opposition about refugees ?” Ask a journalist to Max.
“Unfortunately no, I’m disappointed because it shows that the opposition doesn't care about European people well being and doesn’t care about Europe’s fundamentals” Replied Max to the journalists. “Before taking care of foreigners, European governors should take care of their population” added Max before leaving the Parliament.
“Lewis, could you tell us about the meeting, please ?” Ask another Journalist and Lewis nods.
"If the right-wing is disappointed by our generosity. Wе are disappointed by their egoism ; those refugees need our help to be protected and we are willing to give them the security they need and to which they have the right to have.” Said Lewis while the journalist was attentively listening.
“Thank you Mister Hamilton for sharing this” said the journalist before Lewis leaves the press to go home.
The evening when Lewis watches all the interviews recorded after the debate, he can’t stop thinking about Max.
“What an idiot” thought Leurs before turning off the TV.

And this time Lewis couldn’t help but feel tears running down his cheeks.
He lost the love of his life and he can’t do
anything. Just admire his Maxy from miles away and just draw Max’s attention on him on the other side of the lower chamber.
Between two votes of Project of law, Max and Lewis find time to forge new ties and become more friends. Lewis was more than happy to find back his old friend.
Even Sebastian, Lewis' closest friend and colleague in the Greens European Free Alliance could see that his friend was happier since Max was back in his life.
In fact, Lewis was telling everything to Sebastian after each time Lewis and Max have been seeing each other.
[Wanna go out? take a drink?] sent Max and at this moment Lewis felt his heart melt and excitement growing up in him.
“Oh my god Seb ! Max asked me to go on a date !” Screamed Lewis standing on Sebastian's couch while the owner of the poor couch is in the kitchen.
"What ? Did he tell you that?' Sebastian asks, taking aback, taking a step in the living room.
“Well he asked me to go out, but maybe it’s just something between friends. Should I ask him if it’s a date or not ? " replied Lewis unsure, his phone in his hand Sebastian shrugs his shoulders.
[like a date ?] answers Lewis to Max's message, a bit nervous.
[If you wank it to be a date then It can be one] Replied Max in the same minute.
Lewis screams by hopping on the couch “Seb It's a date”
“My poor couch he is surferring” Said Sebastian desperately. But Lewis was too happy to care about this recycled couch.
Lewis left Sebastian early in the afternoon to have time to prepare himself.
Lewis leaves his apartment around 7pm to join Max in a quiet and discreet bar. When he arrived Max was already there waiting outside of the bar.
“Hey you !” said Max, when he saw Lewis arriving
“Hi ! How are you?” asked Lewis, while Max pulled Lewis into a hug.
“Good and you ?" Replied Max by another question. Lewis nods and Max puts a hand on Lewis's waist to encourage him to enter the bar.
They take some drinks and take time to remember their past as a couple.
When they quit the bar, an awkward blank takes place between them.
“Do you want to take me home ?” Asks Lewis shyly to Max.
“Of course Darling” Max grins, insisting on the letter R.
They walk together until they arrive in front of Lewis' front Door.
“So, you're not going to kiss me?” Lewis smiling innocently at Max.
Max smiles too and nods, he gets closer to Lewis and kisses him.
Lewis put his arms around Max 's neck.
They were so happy to be together again that they didn't hear the ‘clap’ of a camera taking them in picture.
"bye! Have a good night!" says Max after leaving Lewis who entered in his apartment.
"Good Night You" Said Lewis before turning his back to Max. They both went to sleep, head in clouds.
The next day, Lewis woke up because of his phone’s ringing, a lot of photos of him
appeared on the internet. Photos of him and Max kissing in the street.

Lewis and Max spend the morning on a call, reading all the stuff that was written about them and making a plan to avoid another scandal or to nourish this one.
The news came as a shock on social media.

Lewis was aware of that, he received a phone call this morning from the president of the party saying he felt betrayed by Lewis being fired.
Now Lewis is again doing Heads lines like yesterday after he had kissed Max. But now because the left wing - the party who constantly fights for Human rights - fired him because he kissed another man.
After the news took a big step, Lewis received thousands of calls from his family, friends or even Max.
He chose to ignore all calls from Max.
Lewis didn't want to talk to him.
Instead he went to Seb's place to spend the day with him. Sebastian’s goal was to cheer Lewis up.
“Come on Lewis ! Don't be sad, if you want you can come with the Greens party. We will welcome you with pleasure” says Sebastian Joking
“Seb! I don't want to be in another party.
I wanted to fight for Europeans rights. Now I Just need to take a flight to London and say bye to my international political career.” replied Lewis, sighting desperately from the situation.
“No ! You’re not going anywhere, you stay in Strasbourg. And please just answer your phone cause I can't hear it anymore” Says Sebastian with a bit of angriness.
“It’s Max…I don't want to talk to him” moaned Lewis and buried his head in a cushion.
“It’s not his fault and you Know this” Says Sebastian comforting his friend.
Lewis sights with exasperation.

[don’t reply to me if you don’t want to, but at least answer the phone and listen to me please] Max begged by Messages. So one last time, Max tried to call Lewis which this time he responded to.
"Lewis…I hope you're okay…I...I am sorry. It was not my intention to get you fired and I hope you know that. I would not do…again if I knew what would happen the truth is that, since I saw you in the toilet. I can't stop thinking about you, think of what would've happened if I didn’t leave you at school, if we would still be together. I am just worried for you, I am going to hang up Lew’. Thank you for letting me talk to you” And Max ended up the call.
Lewis was lost in his thoughts after the call, he didn't know what to do with Max, but he certainly didn’t want to miss another chance with Max.
So when he was in the bottom of his bed under his blanket. He sent Just an orange heart, since orange is the favorite color of Max.
When Max saw Lewis in the toilet, he was stunned. Not because Lewis was there he always knew Lewis would have a big career in front of him. He was more stunned by the man Lewis became, very different from what Max saw him last time at school, more confident, more beautiful with a bright smile on his face.
Max explained why he left during their Uni years and It breaks his heart to remember the past and to see Lewis sad because of his stupid choices.
But he wanted to excuse himself for his behavior and to just be friends, or more if it happens again, with lewis.
So when he found Lewis's phone number through another party's member. He waits a few days before sending a message. Of course Lewis didn't reply directly and waited a few days even if he read the message.
Once the conversation started they talked almost every day and called too. Max knew it was not like before, cause Lewis was more private and sometimes Lewis would answer coldly to Max’s messages and Max was understanding about that cause Lewis didn't want to be hurt again.
So when Max asked Lewis out on a date and the answer was positive, Max couldn't be happier. Max found back the love of his younger life.
But Max couldn’t anticipate what would happen after their date.
He couldn’t anticipate that a paperazzi was there and taking photos of them kissing and moreover he couldn't anticipate the fact that lewis would get fired.
That made Max laugh, A party who constantly fight for Humans rights fire one of his biggest deputee because of his sexual orientation.
And all could Max do was to call Lewis to excuse him and to support him. Lewis still had to deign to answer him.
And then, by magic, Lewis agreed to let him speak so he opened his heart again.
Late in the night when Max was ready to sleep he sent a message to Lewis.
And knowing the Brit, he was already asleep so he would see the message the next day.

And when Lewis sees that in the early morning his heart skip a beat, almost having a heart attack. It was the first time that Max said something like that to him.
Lewis wanted to be with Max, but he wanted to have his international career too. But all he could think about was Max’s embrace.
Max was more than happy when he saw in the morning a positive answer from Lewis.
So they stayed together, Max was staying in Lewis’s apartment most of the time.
“What are you doing this early?” Asks Max entering the kitchen.
“I am working” said simply Lewis still looking at his computer
“Working on what” Max has again while making himself a coffee
“I’m choosing a new party” said simply Lewis and Max gave him a kiss on the temple and caressing Lewis’ hair.
“You could join us, you know” said Max jokingly. But apparently a joke didn’t reach Lewis because he just sights in response.
“You can’t ask me that Max I could never join your party it’s against my values, and I don’t understand why you are staying with that kind of people” said Lewis angrily at Max
“So what do you want me to do ?" Said back Max
“Nothing, don't worry" replied Lewis before Leaving the kitchen and instead went to his office.
The past few days were calm after this disagreement.
Max and Lewis never talk about work after that. They even made a compromise: Never talk about work after passing the doorstep.
But today Lewis was obliged to, after he received from a Dutch newspaper that Max dismissed his fonctions in the CDA party to join a Dutch left-wing party.
Max wasn’t home already, so Lewis waited around 2 hours for Max to come home and talk to him.
“Hey Maxy !” Said Lewis kissing his boyfriend approaching the sofa.
“Hey” replied Max “why are you so happy to see me ?” Questions Max kissing back his boyfriend.
“Because you’re my boyfriend and I missed you the whole day” said Lewis innocently “and because you need to explain something to me No ?” He added after kissing shortly his boyfriend.
“Oh…so you know it ?” Asks Max
“Yeah ! It’s everywhere on the web” said Lewis with a bright smile on his face.
“I just want to be happy with you, and if my political party is an obstacle I’ll change for you, because you are what matter the most for me” said Max looking at Lewis in his arms.
“Yes, but you were almost the leader of the party…” mumbled Lewis, snuggling up more in his boyfriend’s arms
“Yes but this was never what I really wanted, it was more something that my father wanted for me. I’m obviously changing in the European Parliament too” said Max sitting on the sofa with Lewis on his laps.
“We could just celebrate that in bed, no ?” Suggested Lewis nestling his head in the neck of his boyfriend. Just with that Max gets up from the sofa still with Lewis in his arms and goes to their bedroom.
A month now that Max changed his political party.
A month that Lewis and Max are officially together and don’t give a damn fuck of what could think electors or other party’s members.
“We could have a better apartment Lew’, why are you so obstinate to stay here” asks Max because again he just kicked himself in a wall too short for him.
“Because it’s not far from the Parliament” explains Lewis to Max
“Yes but it’s too small now that I have officially moved in” said Max kissing his boyfriend.
They started kissing more sensually when Lewis’ phone started to ring.
“Wait” said Lewis, stepping back from Max answering his phone.
Lewis went to another room of their apartment and stayed on the phone for at least forty minutes. When he came back to the kitchen, Max could see that Lewis was shocked by the call.
“What ? What happened?” Asks Max worried
“I…the left party asked me to become the new leader of the party…apparently they didn’t like the way I was fired so they decided to destitute the former leader and now if I say yes, I am the new leader” says Lewis still shocked of the news
“So ? What are you going to do ?” Asks Max with a big smile on his face. Even if they are not in the same party (Max chose a centre left political party), Max will always be proud of Lewis.
“I don’t know…” says Lewis hesitantly. The thing is, he didn’t want his relationship with Max to change. Lewis was finally happy to find back his first love, and he didn’t want to change anything about the little routine they created.
“Babe…this is the best opportunity you could have ! And I’m 100 percent sure you will be successful in this role” says Max cheerfully to show his support for his boyfriend seeing him hesitant.
“But promise me that, if I accept this job, nothing will change between us” said Max
“Of course not dumbass” said Max laughing. His boyfriend could be dumb sometimes but it makes Max laugh.
Lewis nods and takes his phone, he calls back the phone number and says yes to the proposal.
Later in the day, when the night was coming, the web was exploding because of the News. In fact Lewis wasn’t expecting the news to be announced this early.

“I’m proud of you Lew’” says Max before kissing his boyfriend
“To show me some respect I think you should call Chief or Leader” said Lewis before laughing when he saw the face of Max. “I’m joking, don’t worry” he added when he was more calm.
Max sighted and kissed his boyfriend to shut him up. “I love you idiot” said Max and Lewis mumbled a “love you too” and cuddle with his boyfriend.
