Chapter Text
"I wonder why I haven't ended it all yet," Rayman pondered, gazing at himself in the mirror, his disaffection for the world evident. "Maybe it's because I'm the last of my kin." Before Rayman could finish his thought, he was interrupted by his assistant mid-smoke break. "You're about to come on stage in five," the assistant said. Rayman, with a dismissive flick, tossed his cigarette at them. "I know," he replied as the cigarette made contact with the assistant's head. "Yes, sir," they said urgently, moving quickly out of the room, a burn mark now marking their skin.
"I honestly don't care anymore," Rayman muttered apathetically, retrieving his revolver from the drawer and placing it against his temple. "Even though Eden has given me what I need, they were never there for me during the struggles with school, life, or even my dimension, for that matter." He rested his finger on the trigger. "At least my death would help alleviate my suffering." The blast went off, and Rayman's body slumped to the floor, his hand falling beside him at a slower rate than his head. His vision faded to near black.
Another assistant entered and found Rayman's lifeless form. They immediately called for help, while Rayman muttered to himself, "I wish these people would just leave me alone," as he closed his eyes. The assistant leaned in to assess their boss's condition, but something unexpected happened during their examination; As the gunshots echoed from the studio's backside, panic rippled through the crowd. They feared a shooter had come to reclaim their target, but it was quite the opposite; When the assistant returned mere seconds later to see what had happened, she discovered Rayman's motionless body, the gun still in his cold hand, blood staining everything it touched, even splattering onto the wall and the CCTV camera "Oh God," the assistant gasped, her face contorted in shock and disbelief. "Surely this is some kind of joke, right?" she said in disbelief
As she tried to lift his head to check for signs of life, her hand came away bloody. It was no surprise; he had shot himself in the head. But then something strange happened when she touched him — an electric shock coursed through her as if she had touched live wires with wet hands; What the hell is this?" someone exclaimed, looking at Rayman's corpse with revulsion in their voice. it was one of the board members he was here to watch the execution live; "I'm not sure, but he shot himself," the assistant said. The person shoved her aside with disinterest, as soon as the board member went to Rayman's dead body to poke and prod, Rayman began to stand up. shocking everyone in the vicinity including the board member
Despite half of his skull being exposed, he stood up, the hair still there though now covered in brain matter and blood, his eyes before radiant blue now his eyes are like those of tone cold unfeeling but yet somehow i can detect someone in there, his smile wicked; blood all over his clean suit and tie, his teeth before a pretty model type of teeth now a pointy mess only belonging to the monster in horror movies, and his hands with before normal as it could be; now claws that can kill anyone with one strike, his movements peculiar like that of a stumbling old bafoon. He fixed his glazed eyes on the people he had seen earlier, a wicked smile forming on his face. Without hesitation, he bit the assistant, blood rushing out of her neck like water in its natural form.
After a few seconds, she realized something was wrong. "Oh shi-," she gasped, sweating profusely, before collapsing lifelessly. The board member, witnessing the gruesome scene, turned to leave but was halted by a searing pain in his chest. As he turned his head around, he found the assistant with bloodshot eyes, her hands morphing into something resembling paws; "What...", backing away in astonishment at this inexplicable transformation. But before he could react further, darkness swallowed him whole, his vision consumed by the sensation of tearing flesh and the drip of his blood, the board member clang to his life the best he can
'join us' the voices rang out to the board member, as he saw the once-dead girl alive, and standing with no injuries to speak of, the same can be applied to Rayman too he's all too cheery for the situation that unfolded, though the mere existence of them being alive is impossible since he has saw them both die one to a self-inflected wound while another to a vital organ failure, after a few moments of not moving, everyone in the vicinity lunged at him, causing darkness to unfold for him and many others.
