Work Text:
Anakin smiled as he looked out the window of their ship.
Usually he didn’t find space too beautiful.
When he was a padawan he did, what with being born on Tattoine.
Whenever he got the chance he’d look at the stars and imagine flying through them.
But the years had dulled the magic of outer space, and he’d grown accustomed to it as a simple part of his reality.
However in this moment the stars were beautiful, the planets were beautiful, even the grey metal of the ship was beautiful, because this ship was taking him to Padmé.
He was going to be a father, and his wife was going to have a little girl, he just knew it.
They’d stayed up late imagining her with his eyes, her mother’s smile, and the stubborn toughness of the both of them.
Padmé insisted it was a boy though, and so they’d decided on the name Luke just in case.
But Anakin knew in his heart that he was going to have a daughter, little Leia Skywalker.
