Work Text:
"Who's that," Loki asks calmly as he pats Noa on his back.
"Only the richest, most powerful, most influential family in Japan's, youngest daughter," Karasu explains.
"Sounds like a big deal," Loki hums.
"The biggest deal."
"Can you call your mom," the interviewer asks. "Is that too much."
"Sure," Bachira smiles fishing out his phone.
"Isn't that phone from like three years ago? Why not get a new one?"
"If I have money to spend the last thing I'm spending it on is my phone. It's trivial," Bachira answers as he types in his password and looks through his contacts. "I'll be calling her now."
The phone rings and it's the only sound crying through the Blue Lock walls. "If she doesn't answer, I'll be sad."
"Hmmm," a light hum flits from the phone.
"Ma?"
"What is it my love," his mom answers.
"Please, introduce yourself. Government name edition."
"Hello, I'm Yuurei Fujiwara. Better known as Yuu Bachira the artist. Nice to meet you."
Otoya drops to his knees in a bow.
"Eita is bowing Ma."
"Eita, get off the floor."
"I can not ma'am."
"I wasn't asking you," Yuu says coolly, Otoya straightens up instantly.
"Can we make this a video call, Fujiwara-sama."
"Bachira-san is just fine. Yeah why not, just give me a minute," Yuu agrees and there some shuffling from her end. Bachira let's his phone be connected to the monitor.
"Ma," Bachira calls out.
Yuu pops into frame, with a bright smile and a smudge of dark purple paint on her cheek. "I was taking a break from painting," she explains trying to wipe her cheek. "It's acrylic."
"You're real," the reporter breathes out in shock.
"I am," Yuu chuckles, while tying her hair in a high ponytail. "Am I still that famous?"
"You're all everybody talks about. Any glimpse of you and the media goes wild."
"Ay, come on now. I'm in my thirties, I've had a kid. Got a mortgage," Yuu waves off the idea with a graceful hand.
"You don't look a day over 25. And a mortgage? Why?"
"I wanted my child to grow up normal. But now that I think about it, maybe Meguru should've just been brought up like me."
"I think I would still be the same, Ma," Bachira laughs.
"You would baby," Yuu smiles, then frowns as something shuffles behind her. "Give me 2 seconds," she excuses herself. The sound of a smacking follows. "Stay away you mutt."
Yuu slides back in with a tight smile.
"What were you painting Bachira-san," the interviewer asks.
"Can I show," Yuu brightens up.
"Ma," Bachira complains. "Please."
"Aye, how boring," Yuu pouts.
"Ugh, fine. You always do whatever you want anyways," Bachira huffs and Yuu picks her phone and starts moving through the house.
While she's climbing up the stairs, "I'm telling Gramma," Bachira mutters and Yuu gasps as she opens a door.
"Meguru don't you dare," Yuu says. "I told you to stay away you mutt," she curses at someone.
"Damn, I'm leaving you witch," a gruff voice complains followed by more shuffling.
"Faster than that," Yuu urges.
"Yes, yes, Fujiwara-sama," the voice drawls out. "What a pain."
"Have something to say, mutt?"
"Woof woof."
Yuu laughs brightly, "This is the most recent painting." The camera turns and the silence grows.
"Is that Don Lorenzo," Lara asks in awe.
"Yo, Michael?" Otoya says the iconic line, neck bending at the same time.
"It is," Yuu says. "Doesn't Lorenzo look twisted in this painting. Its a little more on the abstract side for a portrait. I think this captures, Lorenzo's undead attributes and movements very well."
"And how much would this sell for?"
"I was planning on gifting it to Don Lorenzo. He'd probably sell it after he signs it. To make more money. This piece 20 million Dinari."
"So about 70 million dollars, add a autograph 75 million dollars," Bachira calculated.
"That's cheap," the Bachiras react at the same time. "None of my paintings sell for less that 50 million dollars. It's not particularly outstanding. But it's also not on sale," Yuu explains.
"I think I have another one. I painted Kaiser's Goal," Yuu says as she starts shifting canvases. "Mutt!"
"Find me the recent Kaiser piece," Yuu says.
"The blond kid, with the tattoo?"
"Yeah."
"Here."
Yuu turns the camera to show the work of art. Otoya whistles.
"It's great right? It's oil and acrylic mix."
"Because you told us it was Kaiser, I saw it right away. But I don't think anyone would think of Kaiser when then see this," Otoya replies.
"The Blue roses and thorns gave it away," Lara points out.
"Wait? Blue roses," Yuu repeats confused. "That's not Kaiser. That's Meguru~"
"Blue roses and thorns is literally Kaiser."
"No but this is Meguru. Look," Yuu goes to random drawer and pulls out a photo.
It's a picture of Bachira and his mom at a tattoo parlor. Bachira is lying on the chair while Yuu is taking a selfie of her pointing towards the tattoo on his right thigh. It's a thorn garter, with little buds of blue roses.
"You have a tattoo," Otoya jumps out of his chair once more.
"Yeah? It's old. I had that done two years ago? Am not sure."
"You walk naked in the changing room. How did we not notice?"
"Because I covered it," Bachira answers like it's obvious.
"You deceitful lad," Otoya gasps. "You've betrayed me."
"Calm down. Nobody knew."
"I'm not nobody."
"I'm afraid I can't show anymore paintings, I'll have another opportunity to show them off," Yuu announces. "I have a meeting to go to. So can we wrap this up?"
"Yes, no problem. It was lovely having you Yuu-san."
"It was lovely for me too. Bye-bye, good luck Rin. Bye my happy bee~"
"Bye Ma~"
Soon the day came, when the MVPs family's came to Blue Lock.
