Work Text:
He had looked terribly earnest and so taken with her.
Which Fangxia was only willing to endure because he had distracted the other Lan long enough to allow her to kill him.
The boy was devastated.
Both by the fact that his senior was dead but also that his senior had done her such harm.
Which she was fine with letting him believe.
His guilty conscience and his attraction were useful to lure him with her.
One of her associates had recently landed himself a new employment and had hinted that his master was willing to take in more of his kind.
For the right price, Ye Fangxia was pleased to oblige and follow the call.
The Lan boy was a bit wide-eyed when she suggested running away with her but he was infatuated enough to do it.
In the end, he was as easy to catch as his senior had been.
In some ways even more so.
The only advantage being a woman had sometimes.
People didn't always believe she was innocent when she used that ploy but the Lan boy did.
She had rather artfully struggled when she caught sight of him.
A good idea.
Now, he had stabbed one of his own in the back only half metaphorically and was her accomplice.
Fangxia smiled.
Sometimes men were easy.
Even though most people said that about her.
Not completely unfounded but she didn't have an endless well of power at her fingertips.
You made do with what you had.
In her case, a pretty face and a gorgeous body that made men lose their heads.
Quite literally.
She laughed and dragged him along by the hand.
She should ask his name.
So she could offer him at a good price to Zhuliu's sect leader.
Though…
She glanced at him sideways.
With that windswept hair, his expensive robes, and an air of desperation around him, he wasn't bad to look at.
Maybe she'd keep him for herself.
If he behaved, she'd let him into her bed.
And then make him take responsibility.
Whether it was his kid or not.
He seemed the kind who would do it.
She smiled lazily at him and he almost stumbled.
Only great reflexes kept his forward momentum from making him fall flat on his face.
He'd give her talented kids.
Good bargaining chips.
(Famous last words. But to her credit, the kids were adorable. And also hers, so they barely counted as a disadvantage.)
