My House Is My House

Summary:

Teens Sebastian, Silas, and Mar go to a creepy "abandoned" house in the middle of no where. Little do they know that it is not abandoned and none of them will be walking out alive. Someone is angry and looking for revenge.

Notes:

This was something I had to do for school. I really enjoyed it and so did everyone else so I thought I would post it here. I hope you enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

They were coming back. I just knew it. The kids who had come here an hour ago. They didn’t know I was here. Didn’t know I was here. Didn’t know I was watching them. But this is my house, I live here. Why did they come? Why did they come here uninvited? I am going to trick them. I am going to make them think they are safe, but really they will be in peril. Major peril.

Silas and his friends were going back to that house again tonight. The house that looked ancient and was more than certainly abandoned. Silas sighed, he didn't want to go back, he wanted to stay home watching T.V. and eating junk food. Something about that place gave him the creeps, as if something was watching them.

6 Hours Later
Silas and his two friends, Mar and Sebastion, are going back. Back to the house. It was past midnight but before one. They were all in Sebastion’s car. It was pitch black and no one was on the road.

Silas was nervous. Something was off, something would be different about tonight and Silas didn’t think it would be anything good. He didn’t say anything though, not wanting his friends to think he was a chicken and just trying to get out of going.

20 Minutes Later
They were here. The house in the middle of nowhere. The house looked even more rickety and haunted than it had last night. Still, Silas didn’t say anything.

As Silas and his friends walked up to the house, something seemed to watch them. Silas felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up and he shivered.

Sebastian, who was at the front of their small group, opened the old black door. As he did this, Sebastion turned on his flashlight Mar and Silas doing so as well.

Sebastian told them that he would go scouting ahead making sure that the coast was clear. Neither Mar nor Silas complained.

As Sebastian disappeared into the darkened house the air shifted, growing colder. Now Silas was sure that something was watching them.

Suddenly a blood curdling scream came from within the house, “SEBASTIAN” both Silas and Mar yelled, racing inside. The door slammed shut as the two boys raced in, pushed by something neither of them could see.

When they found Sebastian both Mar and Silas stopped; in shock at what they were seeing. Sebastian was lying face down on the dirty ground with 2 arrows sticking out of his back. Even as Mar leaned down to turn Sebastian over, Silas knew there was no hope, Sebastian was dead.

Mar stood up looking at Silas. Even without words Silas knew what the other boy was thinking, they had to get out of here. Out of this house.

Silas and Mar headed toward the door at a brisk pace, leaving Sebastian’s lifeless body behind. The door however when they reached it, was closed and locked.

Silas was about to ask Mar what they should try because he was too scared to think properly, when something whooshed through the blackness of the house. A thunk and a thump later and Mar was dead, a singular arrow sticking out of his chest.

Silas stared in horror, then he let out a scream full of pure terror. He was next to get killed and he could feel it. Silas knew, he just knew that he wouldn’t leave this house alive.

There was a laugh, a ghostly awful laugh rang out in the deafening silence that remained after Silas’s scream had stopped echoing. The laugh seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere.

Silas couldn’t move, couldn’t think. He didn’t think he was breathing. Something, someone, was in the house and it was coming for him. It was going to kill him just like it had killed Sebastian and Mar.

“You can’t escape,” a raspy voice said, “you have come here uninvited, now you shall pay the price. You can not escape.” Then that creepy laugh again.

Silas desperately tries the door, rattling the handle. The door wouldn’t budge though and it stayed firmly locked.

Silas spun around then crouched down to grab his flashlight, which he had dropped in his terror. Leaning down though puts Silas closer to Mar’s dead body than he would like. He scrambled back into a wall, desperate to get away from the corpse. Then the wall moved and Silas realized too late that it was not a wall. What Silas had actually been leaning on was a person. A very tall, very alive person.

Silas screamed and tried to scramble away but a bony hand clamped down on his right shoulder preventing Silas from moving.

Suddenly something cold and definately metal was pressed against Silas’s throat. The only warning Silas got was the words, “I told you there would be no escape.” Silas didn’t even have time to scream before the man pressed the knife deeper into his throat and slit it.

Silas felt only terror though. He knew he should have felt pain but he didn’t. Mar and Sebastian were dead. His best friends who had become his brothers were dead. So as Silas toppled over, being released by the man, he wondered who would find their bodies and when? How long would it be? Would the three of them just rot here?

These were the only things Silas could think of as his vision faded to black. Now Silas too was dead.

I got them. They are dead now. I finally can get some peace and quiet. I’ll drop the bodies near the road. That way it will be a warning to stay away. This was not wrong. Though they were teens, maybe 15, it was not wrong. This was not brutal in fact I feel that it was quite merciful. I could have killed them a million other ways, all more brutal than what I did to them today, I can feel myself smile, I imagine it is a proud smile. I have defended my home. I have defended it well.
