This was Hermitcraft, many weird things happen, especially with the newer members joining. Etho was prepared for most things, but not this. The man who claimed wasn't obsessed with Etho was currently sitting in a boat, at his front door in some weird outfit, maybe a king? Joel always swore that Etho was the one obsessed with him, but this wasn't helping his accusation. Joel had gotten out of his boat and held out a hand for the other man to grab.
" You could say it's a date. "
Etho took Joel's hand and took a seat in the boat. Joel went to sit back down in front of Etho and started to row. Etho had started to become very confused about what he got himself into.
" Joel what is happening..? "
" A cause to celebrate! " Joel had a wild smile on his face, a smile Etho loved. He may have been confused but he knew Joel was having fun. It evened out in his mind. After being soul-bound to the man for an entire season he knew how Joel could be, this might just be him being a weirdo.
" I've always just felt so close to you. " Joel had turned around to look at Etho, waiting for a response from him.
" You live quite far, though I suppose it could be true. "
At this point, Etho was laughing to himself. Instead of thinking about it too much, he just played into Joel's little bit. Maybe it could lead to something interesting, It's not like he had much planned for today. Joel faced the front and continued to row until he eventually hit a lake which he went into. Etho had excused it for easier travel, as they were moving quite slowly on land.
" In Japan, they call it koi "
Etho had snickered. He had thought because of Joel's little king getup he could be the little princess. It wasn't new for Etho to be someone's princess in Hermitcraft.
" Isn't that a type of fish? "
Joel stared down at the water and sighed. He looked back at Etho stopping the boat for a couple of seconds.
" Italians say ' amore ' "
" That's a type of eel. "
Joel started to row the boat again before he took a quick turn, they seemed to be heading to spawn. This brought back a slight confusion for Etho, what were they going to do at spawn? It's not like Joel lived that close to spawn, the Neighborhood was closest to where they were heading.
" I guess what I mean is that I wanted to say, I can't express how good you make me feel. This could be love! "
" Love you say? ' Reel love ', perhaps? "
Etho looked over Joel's shoulder and laughed in his face. Joel rolled his eyes, he knew that Etho was catching onto what he was doing but still, continued.
" Let's make our kingdoms stronger! "
Etho clasped his hands together and fluttered his eyes, he was a princess after all. He had to go all the way if he wanted to play into Joel's act.
" Make weapons, go to war?! "
After Etho had spoken they reached their destination, and he was right. It was spawn, there was a sea lantern on the floor that was immediately evident to him. Joel got off the boat and held his hand out to help Etho out. Etho took his hand and when his feet met the land Joel led him over to the sea lantern.
" Just stand right on this spot here. "
Etho did as he asked and stood there awkwardly. The confusion had started to come back, especially since this was all still unexplained.
" Sure, but what's it for? "
Joel walked in front of Etho and looked up at the man, he still had the massive grin on his face he had from the start. Etho wasn't scared to admit it, he loved Joel to death. That stupid smile he always had was the cutest thing to Etho, just being near Joel was enough to make him blush.
" Here's a proposal, I just need the ring. "
That's when Etho finally realized what was happening, he was in absolute disbelief. He wanted to think it was a joke, for goodness sake, they weren't even dating. Joel had turned around and took something out of his pocket.
" You've stolen my heart "
"Joel. What the hell are you doing? "
" My love runs deeper than the ocean. I'm saying there's an awful lot of fish in the sea, but there's only been one for me. "
Etho was taken aback, he took a couple of steps back when Joel turned back around to face him and had a ring in his hand.
" Etho, will you marry me? "
Etho burst out in laughter, he saw Joel giggling as well. He wiped some tears from his face and looked down at Joel. He took Joel in for a hug and pulled down his mask so he could kiss him. As they let go of each other Etho took the ring and slid it onto his finger.
" Of course, but we weren't even dating. "
" So what? I don't wanna end up like Scar and Grian just acting like they don't wanna marry each other. I'm better than that! If I want to marry my soulmate I will. "
Etho was laughing his ass off at Joel's reasoning, it's not like it was false. Joel had only been on Hermitcraft for about 3 weeks and he already got married.
They decided to walk to the Magical Mountain so Joel could show off to all his neighbors and friends. On the walk there Etho took the opportunity to ask Joel something.
" Will this make you finally admit to how much you are obsessed with me? "
" I don't know what you're talking about, you're the one who accepted to marry me. "
