Early Morning Cookies

Summary:

You and Avdol wake up before everyone else, and decide to bake some cookies.

Notes:

This is one of my older works where every line I read I cringe. You have been warned.

Work Text:

It was a peaceful morning, something you couldn’t get a lot of the time. You were an early bird, and it just so happened Avdol was, too. So, since you both didn’t have much else to do before everyone else woke up, you talked with each other, a lot. You ended up having a lot in common, one of them being that you liked to bake. In fact, one morning, Avdol asked if you wanted to bake some cookies for everyone else once they woke up.

“We don’t even need an oven,” he prodded. “I can fully control Magician’s Red’s flames, making them low enough to bake the cookies.”

“I like that idea,” you answered enthusiastically. “It’s been a while since I had the chance to bake, so I’ll gladly take your offer!”

“Then it’s settled!” Avdol stated. “I’ll get the ingredients, and you can get the tools and bowls.”

You nodded, and both of you scrambled off to find everything. You searched through the hotel room’s kitchen drawers and cabinets, getting out measuring cups, mixing bowls, whisks, and baking pans, then put them on the table.

“Alright, I’ll mix the wet ingredients, and you can get the dry ingredients,” Avdol said. Obediently, you took the measuring cups, scooped up the flour and sugar, put them in a bowl, and mixed them together.

“Okay, I’ll pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones, and you can stir,” Avdol said enthusiastically.

“Stirring it up!” you replied happily. “These cookies are going to be the best that anyone’s ever tasted!”

When the batter was completely mixed, the two of you poured it into little circles on the baking sheet, then Avdol summoned his Stand to heat them up.

“It shouldn’t take long,” he said. “Even if we have to wait for them to bake all the way through, it can go faster than normal, since I can make the heat seep through tiny pores in the cookies, and stay there longer.”

You were both very excited when you heard footsteps coming to the main room. From the sound of the footsteps, you assumed it was either Jotaro or Joseph, and confirmed it was Jotaro from the yawn.

“Morning,” he mumbled, still half asleep.

“Good morning, Jotaro,” you chirped.

“Something smells nice.”

“They’re cookies,” Avdol told him, handing the sheet to him.

“Cookies?” Jotaro took one, and chewed on it for a while. “They’re good.”

“Thank you,” you both said at the same time.

“It smells amazing in here!” Joseph announced as he made his way to the main area, followed by Kakyoin.

“Cookies,” Jotaro told them. “(Y/N) and Avdol made cookies.”

Each of them took one, and ate the whole thing before talking again.

“Those were some of the best cookies I’ve had!” Joseph exclaimed as he reached for another one.

“They’re amazing,” Kakyoin added. “I would love to learn how to bake these one day.”

You and Avdol had smiles on your face the rest of the day. When the two of you worked together, who knows what you could accomplish?
