Work Text:
Deon brought so much joy to her life, he let her experience things she never would have without him.
From the second he appeared Ririnell had loved every moment she was with him, from waiting to him at the gate to sending him off.
She always treasured the warmth from the hand that pat her head whenever she did something good, or the smile he gave to her when he was pleased.
She remembered when he handed her those pretty cookies, she had savored every bite and if she tried hard enough she thought she could still remember the taste-- the sweetness that was only intensified by the kind person who gave them to her.
Deon Hardt was good, and before she knew it she had been caught up in his kindness, swept away in an affection she had never known before.
In the end he even accepted her monstrous traits
She smiled brightly as she thought: I made a religion, ate pretty shaped cookies, felt a warmth so sweet, and was happy just looking at his face, she had fun thanks to him.
Now it was his turn.
Ririnell didn't want to die, because she wanted to see Deon smile, a true smile, but she was sure it would be more beautiful than life itself.
She had seen enough of his hardships and his displeasure; the haunted look in those void red eyes that screamed of a desire for death.
She wanted to see that look disappear replaced by one of true joy-- a true happiness she would never see.
But love was something that only gave asking nothing in return,
She knew what he was asking of her, that her soul would be gone forever-- lost to time, and she knew she would never be able to see that pure and beautiful smile of his.
A selfish greed made itself known as a small voice whispered "Don't you want to live?"
She shook her head ignoring the practically non-existent voice, no I cannot let my own greed get in the way of his happiness, for anything he asked she would do, a faithful servant to her god.
Still a part of her hoped that he would always remember her; that whenever he smiled happily he would remember her own smile, because in that way she could be with him forever, even if only a memory.
She was willing to give her everything for Deon including her own life
Because for him to be happy she had to die.
She had lived her life for him, so it was only right the Ririnell died for him.
So she gave it easily with a small smile, giving the last of her life force thinking only of him,
His beautiful and angelic white hair that would shine so lovely in the moonlight, his bright folded blood red eyes that would no longer looked steeped in misery, and finally the peaceful happy smile that would sit on his face.
A picture without any room for her.
Still to her nothing could have been better, after all he was one she had betrayed everything for.
Including her own existence
"Its done; therefore, be happy" she said with a smile so bright and innocent, before she felt her body falling apart, her very life slowly fading away forever, but if she was dying for Deon then it was okay, no it was perfect.
A pure smile graced her lips as she closed her eyes for the final time.
