“Okay, who’s going first?”
“I can go first.”
Taylor suspects that Scary proposed a game of spin the bottle in an attempt to get kissed by Erica, which he can respect.
He volunteers to go first because he wouldn’t mind kissing anybody in this circle. Taylor’s had a little crush on Erica for years now, Normal’s kinda gross but he is cute, there’s probably no chance Scary would kiss him but he’d like to kiss her, and Link…
Well. Taylor has a massive crush on Link.
He spins the bottle, watching it go in circles as he reflects on how he’s never kissed anyone.
He’s not sure he even knows how to do it.
The bottle stops, and it’s pointed at Link.
Taylor bites his lip in an attempt to suppress an involuntary grin, but that act might be even more suspicious.
“You know, I never thought this game would be the first time I’m ever forced to see you two kissing,” Scary says.
“No one is forcing you to do anything,” Taylor says, crawling into the centre of the circle and meeting Link halfway.
Link’s hands immediately land on Taylor’s cheeks, cupping his face and tilting it up a little. “Is that okay?” he asks, his face serious as ever.
Taylor is surprised that he’s not commented on the way his hands must be absolutely burning with how hot Taylor’s face is. “Yeah, that’s fine.”
“I can’t kiss you when you’re smiling like that.”
“Shit, sorry, I—mm,” Taylor fights to turn his smile into pursed lips, but all that does is end with him giggling.
Link pulls his hands away. “Are you okay?”
“I’m good, I’m good, I’m good,” Taylor says through giggles before covering his face. “Oh my god, sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Link chuckles. “I don’t really know what’s funny, but you can take a second.”
“I think he’s just nervous,” Erica chimes in.
“Yeah, from that massive crush he has on you!” Normal adds.
“Norm, shut the fuck up!” Taylor shouts, though it’s muffled from his hands still covering his face.
After a few minutes and a lot of deep breaths, Taylor’s laughing fit finally passes, and he looks back up at Link and grabs his hands, placing them back on his cheeks.
“You ready?”
“Yes.”
Link leans in, and Taylor closes his eyes. He’s never kissed anyone before. It kinda just feels like lips. On his lips. But it’s nice.
And once it’s over, Taylor’s grinning again, and covering his face, because he just knows it is the brightest of reds.
Instead of crawling back to his spot in the circle, he crawls into Link’s spot, and drags him back there by the arm, and once they’re next to each other, he still doesn’t let go, burying his face in the fabric of Link’s letterman.
It smells nice. It smells like Link, and Link smells nice.
And after another round (of Normal kissing Scary, Taylor thinks via context clues), Link extracts Taylor from his arm only to pull him into his lap, and wrap his arms around his torso. And to top it all off, Link kisses Taylor again on the top of his head, and Taylor suspects it’s just to see him get all flustered again. And if it is, well, he succeeds.
