Work Text:

A laughing chaos filled the private room they were in. All 13 of them decided to meet  in a pretty luxurious restaurant for their monthly team meeting. Once the arrived with a van, they went in to the private room that Seungcheol has reserved for their safety and comfort. Even if some of them couldn’t stay until the end, they had a great time together before others started to leave. Seungcheol was the first one to leave since he had an another meeting with the company and staff. But he made sure to give the rest his card since he was going to pay for all of it at the end anyways.

After Seungcheol left, Jeonghan left after about half an hour to go to the meeting to keep Seungcheol company. Junhui and Jihoon left with Soonyoung soon after Soonyoung started to cry and try to kiss people around him because he got a bit too drunk. There wasn’t anyone who was going to leave the meeting after them so they all got comfy on the black leather chairs. “It’s useless to have 12 of you as my hyungs, you know?” Chan said bluntly and giggled when the room suddenly filled with clapping and loud laughters.

They all cheered for their maknae when he grabbed the soju filled shot glass and drank it. “Lee Chan! Lee Chan!” When they all started chanting his name, their voices echoed in the large room. The loud atmosphere calmed down after more than half an hour, everyone got exhausted as the time went by. Well, except for some of them. “Hey, hey, hey! Helloo!!” Seokmin shouted loudly just be screamed by Seungkwan to shut up. “Hey, hey, hey!” He continued shouting after a few minutes. Chan groaned and leaned on Minghao who was sitting next to him, a newly filled wine glass in his other hand. Chan slowly drifted off to sleep as Minghao quietly sipped his red wine and ruffled Chan’s hair with his other hand.

“Hyung, should we get going? Channie is going to pass out any minute and the same thing goes for Seungkwan too.” Mingyu said after placing his empty water glass on the table. He had a early schedule tomorrow and didn’t want to deal with a hangover. Joshua hummed and took a look around the table. Everyone was wasted, including himself. Thinking that no one could drive, he grabbed his phone and got up from the table.

“I’m going to make a call to someone from the company to drive us to our dorm.” He turned around to Mingyu before walking away to the door. “Can you make sure that everyone is staying here? I’ll be quick and you are the most sober one since you didn’t drink.” Mingyu nodded, most of them were drunk, but a few of them was definitely better than the others. “Gyu, when are we going home?” Wonwoo asked, tiredly. Mingyu patted his head and placed a kiss on his forehead.

“We’ll go soon, Shua hyung is going to call a car for you guys. I’ll go back with my own car.” Wonwoo nodded and leaned on Vernon. “Guys, gather your stuff and don’t forget anything. We will leave in a moment.” Seungkwan announced, loud enough to make Minghao and Vernon flinch who were almost sleeping. “Channie, We have to go. I also need to get up.” Minghao said softly, his voice sounded tired and raw from all the singing they did earlier. Chan whined and snuggled closer to Minghao and hugged his arm. Vernon giggled and caressed his hair. After getting their phones, wallets and jackets Mingyu walked up to the employee and paid for their meal with Seungcheol’s card.

Once he returned to the table, he saw everyone ready to go and standing. Except Chan. He frowned and walked up to Wonwoo who just put his head in Mingyu’s shoulder. “Where’s Channie?” Wonwoo didn’t answer but instead he pointed at the corner where the chairs were pushed together. When he looked closely, he could see Chan’s fluffy hair peeking out behind the table that was hiding him. Chan was laying down on his, probably really uncomfortable, bed made by the chairs.

He giggled and got Wonwoo off his shoulder, who just headed to someone else to lean on. Mingyu walked up to Chan and slowly started to caress his hair. “Channie, wake up please. We’ll go to home and then you can sleep.” Chan moved around uncomfortably and slowly opened his eyes. He yawned and got up from the chairs. They, the rest of them, started to walk to the van that was waiting for them. Joshua, who arrived at that moment, called out to Mingyu. “Gyu, can you get Chan with you? He is going to sleep on the way home probably. And it won’t be that comfortable in the van, Seokmin started singing.” Mingyu nodded and picked Chan up.

He walked to his car with the sleepy boy in his arms. Chan whined but hid his neck in the curve of Mingyu’s neck. Mingyu tried hard to hold his laugh when Chan started to whisper some weird things into his ear. “Hyung, am I actually Jeonghan hyung’s baby?” Mingyu let out a chuckle as he walked to his car. “Yes, Channie. You are his baby.” He could feel Chan frowning. “I’m not a baby. I grew up.” Chan whined as he was placed in the backseat of the car. Mingyu laughed and closed the door. He walked to the other door and got in, and started driving to the dorm.

The car ride was calm and quiet, Mingyu didn’t even play music thinking that it could disturb Chan. So, he just lead the way as the van behind him followed. Once they made it to the dorm, Mingyu’s stopped the car, opened his door and got out of his seat quietly to not wake Chan up. When he headed to the back side of the car to get Chan out, he saw Minghao getting out of the van behind him. Minghao stumbled and he felt like he was losing his balance as his eyes felt heavy. But instead of hitting the hard concrete, his tired body met with Mingyu’s muscular arms wrapped tightly around him. He was feeling a bit more awake now. “Hao, are you okay? You were going to fall.” Mingyu let out worriedly, mumbling his last sentence. “I’m good, just, let’s get inside. Yeah?”

Minghao tried to get out of Mingyu’s hold but his harms wrapped righter around him. “Gyu, I can walk.” Minghao slurred his words and yawned, he probably mispronounced some of the words but he didn’t really care since he spoke Chinese more than Korean when he was drunk. Mingyu chuckled and he picked Minghao up. Getting Chan out of the car and bringing him inside slipped out of his mind. “I’ll carry you inside, you are too drunk to make it inside yourself. You’ll probably fall over a few times if you try to walk.” Minghao laughed out loud at his answer and snuggled closer to Mingyu’s muscular built.

A worried Joshua was waiting on the doorway, welcoming them when Mingyu came to the door with Minghao in his arms. Joshua frowned and took a step closer to them. “What happened, are you guys okay?” Joshua reached out and caressed Mingaho’s hair, who was fast asleep. “I got out of the car and saw Minghao stumbling. He almost fell but I managed to catch him in time. I think he’s a little too drunk.” Mingyu giggled. Joshua let out a relieved sigh and let them in by getting out of the way. “Did everyone go to sleep already? It’s…” Joshua completed his sentence before he could do it himself. “Quiet?” Mingyu nodded. He was surprised by the unexpected quietness surrounding the dorm.

Joshua hummed and nodded. “I checked if everyone was asleep and they mostly are, some are still getting ready for bed. Just, Channie’s room is locked though and I don’t know where the spare key is, So, I couldn’t check on him but he’s probably sleeping.” Mingyu frowned, he couldn’t remember seeing Chan getting out of the car. “Did you tried calling him?” Joshua nodded again as he followed Mingyu to Mingaho’s room to put him in his bed. He opened the door and covers for Mingyu. “Didn’t he leave his phone in the dorm because he wanted to change it?” Mingyu said as he gently placed Minghao on his bed.

“Yeah, but it must be changed by now. Also, he didn’t answer my calls or messages. He’s probably asleep. We don’t need to worry much.” Mingyu nodded and yawned, Joshua smiled at him and closed the door behind them when they got out. “You should sleep too, Hannie and Cheol hyungs are still at the company. I don’t know when they’ll be back so i’ll probably wait.” Mingyu nodded and walked to his room. “Good night, if they are not back after half an hour, call them. If they’ll stay for a little longer, than just sleep.” Mingyu said before closing his door. “Yes sir!” Joshua answered.

He sat on the couch and stretched his tired limps. He was sobered up by now. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the silence for a few minutes. Then he headed to the kitchen and got himself a glass of water, After waiting for half an hour, he did what Mingyu told him to and called Jeonghan, thinking Seungcheol would be in the meeting. “Hannie, when are you coming back?” Jeonghan’s tired voice filled his ears “ We are on our way, you can just sleep. I have my keys with me.” Joshua nodded, and only answered after a awkward silence built between them, remembering that Jeonghan couldn’t see him right now. Jeonghan giggled.

“ Yeah, you should really sleep now. We will check on others when he get home.” Joshua hummed and hang up the phone. He yawned walked to his room. He brushed his teeth and was quickly under his covers. Jeonghan and Seungcheol arrived only after half an hour later. They checked the each room, except Chan’s. They tried calling him, but he didn’t answer. They just thought he was asleep, so they shrugged and went to sleep in their room.

The morning was just chaos. Seungcheol woke up alone in his bed, Jeonghan was not next to him. He frowned in confusion but he could hear the members voices from the living room. He groaned as he got up from his bed and looked around the room. He grabbed his phone and walked out of the room. He quickly realized something was truly wrong when he entered the living room. “What’s wrong, why is everyone getting in and out of Chan’s room?” He approached Jeonghan who was clearly looking nervous and asked. Jeonghan glanced at the direction of Chan’s room and sighed.

“When we got home, Chan’s room was locked, right?” Seungcheol nodded as a frown appeared on his face. “Well, I woke up right before you and I saw everyone standing next to the door. I asked them what happened and they said Chan’s room was still locked.” Seungcheol held his hand as Jeonghan closed his eyes and took a deep breath to rid of the anxiety that’s creeping inside of him. “I-I got the spare key from our room and unlocked it. Chan isn’t inside of the room.” Seungcheol looked at the members who’s watching his reaction. probably waiting for him to speak. “Did you tried calling him?”

“Yes, we did. He didn’t get his phone when we went out for the monthly meeting yesterday and now it’s still there.” Jeonghan felt his eyes getting teary as he spoke. Seungcheol wiped away his tears before they could even fall. “I’ll call the manager and see if we can find him, okay?” Jeonghan only nodded. “He should be around here anyways.” Seungcheol let go of Jeonghan’s hand and unlocked his phone. He quickly called their manager.

“Hyung, are you around our dorm?” He said after getting away from the members to hear the manager clearly. “ Yeah, I’m in front of the dorm actually. A friend dropped me off, what’s wrong?” The manager sounded confused when he heard Seungcheol’s ‘leader’ voice. “Chan is not in his room. His room was locked when he came to the dorm yesterday. He also left his phone to charge yesterday, and it’s still here.” Seungcheol felt the manager getting nervous. “ Should we look for him? There could be sasaeng fans near.” Seungcheol hummed. “You are at the dorm, right? We’ll look for him together.”

Seungcheol hang up the phone when the manager accepted and sighed. He headed to the members. “Did anyone see my car keys? We will look for Chan with manager hyung.” Everyone looked around themselves to see if keys were anywhere near. “Hyung, I don’t know where your keys are but Mingyu’s are here.” Soonyoung yelled from the kitchen. Seungcheol glanced at Mingyu, who was standing in the other side with Jun, looking for the keys. Mingyu nodded at his silent request and grabbed the keys from Soonyoung before handing it to Seungcheol. “My car is in front of the dorm, hyung. Let us know when you find him.” Seungcheol nodded and headed to the door after giving Jeonghan and others a reassuring smile. He sighed as he closed the door behind him.

The manager waved at him and he waved back. “We are going with Mingyu’s car.” The manager just nodded and walked in the direction of Mingyu’s car. “Should I put my bag on the back seat?” The manager asked as Seungcheol unlocked the car. “Yeah, actually hand me the bag and i’ll put it” The manager handed Seungcheol the bag and Seungcheol gave him the keys. “You should drive, I didn’t drink a lot yesterday but my head still hurts.”

Manager nodded as Seungcheol opened the car door. He froze in his place when he saw Chan lying on the backseat, almost falling down. He closed his eyes and exhaled deeply. “Kim Mingyu…” He mumbled under his breath as he called out for the manager. “Hyung, stop. Chan is here.” The manager frowned but almost burst into laughter when he saw Chan lying on the black leather seat.

They carried Chan to the dorm and everyone gathered around them. Memories filled Mingyu’s mind as Seungcheol, glared at him. “Oops, I forgot.” Everyone laughed when they learned what happened. Mingyu was embarrassed but was relieved that Chan was safe. Just, he had to sleep with one eye open for a few days.
