Chapter Text
Walking around VoxTek I make my way to the printing room and head to one of the copy machines. “There they are.” I say as I grab the stack of paper I’ve been looking for.
Adjusting the stack in my grasp I head out of the room and to Vox’s office. On my way there Velvette stops me. She places a hand out in front of me until she is finished sending her text.
“Hey girl, it’s been a minute since I’ve seen you.” I hum in response realizing it really has been a while.
“Anyway,” she continues. “Vox needs to see you.” I give her a confused look. “Did I do something wrong?” I ask confused.
I went to get these papers almost immediately after he requested them. Sure I got a little lost but I’ve been doing pretty well so far as his assistant. At least I thought so.
She just laughs in response. “Girl no. He didn’t say why but if you were in trouble you’d know it.”
I let out a sigh of relief as she gives me an amused look. “He likes you more than you think. We all do. You’re one of the Vee’s now don’t forget that.”
Smiling at her I put the stack of papers under my arm so u can give her a side hug. “You’re not too bad yourself.” I readjust the papers again as I released her from the hug.
“Well I should go see him then. Thanks Velvette.” I say before walking off. She gives me a wave and walks off in her own direction as well.
I continue to make my way to Vox’s office not bumping into many people and eventually make it there quickly.
I pause for a moment after I make it to his door debating on if I should knock or not but decide against it.
As I turn the doorknob I make my way inside and walk up to his desk.
He is sitting in his chair facing his multitude of monitors that show him many different views that his security cameras can see.
“You wanted to see me Vox?” I ask as I place down a stack of papers on his desk.
“That good for nothing radio demon refused to join the Vee’s.” Vox huffs out clearly agitated enough to not fully notice my presence.
His fists clench on his desk as he stares out in front of him. I sigh as I place a hand on my hip.
“Yes Vox I know. I was there. He’s just cocky and thinks he’s better than us. That’s all it is.” I reply even though I know his comment wasn’t necessarily directed at me.
“Not only is he cocky, he’s ignorant and too stuck in the old ways.” He huffs again. He then pauses as he seems to fully notice me this time.
As he spins his chair around he stares at me for a while. After a few seconds I start to get annoyed. “Earth to Vox.” I say as I wave my hand in front of his face.
“You specialize in radio don’t you?” He suddenly asks me, catching me off guard. I lower my hand back down to my side as I nod. “Yeah...” I begin, interested in where he’s going with this. “I worked in the radio department in VoxTek before you made me your assistant.”
“Hmm... well you know radio in and out, you seem very dedicated and passionate about it.” He starts off.
He mumbles the rest more to himself than to me. “You know this company like the back of your hand.” As he is saying this I immediately raise an eyebrow having a feeling I know what he’s going to suggest.
“Therefore you’re the perfect person to take over as head of radio for the VoxTek.” He finishes, waiting for my reaction.
My eyes widened even though I expected him to say something along those lines. “You want me to be the new head of radio?” I ask bewildered before adding, “You just made me your assistant barely a few months ago.”
Vox nods his head slowly. "Well, you've proved yourself and it's not like you have much competition.”
I glare at him slightly at that comment. “You've worked in radio all your life, you know the ins and outs like I said, and with Alastor gone you are perfect.”
I have a feeling he just wants to start up the radio portion of the company again now just to piss off Alastor.
He probably had this idea to make me the new head of radio ever since Alastor declined his offer. That’s probably why he send Velvette out to find me.
I sigh as I take time to think it through. “Fine. Fine I’ll do it. But if Alastor comes back I’m done. I’m not risking my life and getting in the radio demon’s way for this.”
He smiled warmly at me. "I'm sure Alastor will never come back. But if he does, you'll have no trouble fending him off." He says half-jokingly, making me sigh louder this time.
“Ha ha very funny.” I say as I start to walk out of his office. “Call me whenever you fix up the recording studio for me to start.”
The actual radio section of VoxTek has been out of commission for years. Due to the vast changing of electronics, a bit of thanks to Velvette, there hasn’t been a need for VoxTek to continue radio.
Especially since Alastor had such a tight grip on the radio industry no one even tried to touch it.
Of course there were still workers to keep it tidy and such but not much else happened in that part of the company.

It doesn’t feel like I’ve been doing radio for the Vee’s for seven years now. Time moves just as fast in Hell as it did on Earth.
Sometimes I still think it was only yesterday Vox promoted me from one of the average workers to his assistant before becoming the VoxTek’s head of radio.
As I’m reading the newspaper of the current events currently happening in and around the pride ring I feel a buzzing in my ear as my ear piece begins to turn on.
I groan annoyed that my quiet reading time will most definitely get interrupted by whatever information I’ll be given.
“(Y/N) get to your recording studio. You’re doing a segment on that wildly stupid idea of a redemption hotel that Lucifer’s daughter is running.” Vox says in my ear piece before hanging up.
A radio segment on the Hazbin Hotel is an interesting broadcasting choice on Vox’s part. I’m surprised he wouldn’t want to cover it himself on his show.
Then again Charlie was not the nicest to Killjoy and Tom when she went on their live broadcast. I shudder at the thought of the mess that recording studio was in after that incident.
An unexpected broadcast was also interesting. Vox usually always talked about when I will broadcast on his show to make sure listeners tuned in every time.
I shake my head to get out of my own thoughts before Vox calls me again asking where I am.
“Just another fucking day with the Vee’s hey hey hey.” I mutter and I stand up from the couch in the lounge and start heading to my recording studio.
