Jogo sighed, after a long day of having to deal with Geto and the others shenanigans it was nice to finally wind down. Hanami and Dagon were currently playing a round of mahjong but the small grumpy spirit didn't feel like joining in. No, he had other plans. When it seemed like the other members of the group seemed distracted, he snuck out. Tonight he had plans of his own for the first time. During a fight a few weeks ago was where it all started. This is when Jogo met Y/N.
Three weeks prior
The disaster family and Itadori were fighting in the middle of Osaka, Japan. Hanami and Dagon did most of the fighting to be honest as it was a rainy day, Jogo was useless on rainy days. Jogo was mainly feeding into the fight trying to get Itadori, or would refer to as Sukuna in this, to try and understand them. Cursed spirits were not equals to humans, and being the truest forms of humans traits and desires that was unfair in the eye(s) of Jogo. However, something odd did catch his attention for a split second. Y/N, was on looking at the situation but you didn't seem scared per se but infatuated with the conversation. Granted, the fear of being possibly killed like others around you did speak in your facial expression but your eyes looked with curiosity and understanding.
Jogo in all his years has never seen this reaction from a human before. However, the fight snapped him back into reality. Geto had Itadori by the throat, commanding the other three to leave as this fighting was pointless as Geto's intentions were just to send a message to the real Geto's ex. The three looked at one another before obeying, heading to leave but Jogo fell behind. He was approaching Y/N. This obviously annoyed Geto as he told him to fall back. When Geto snapped at him, Jogo grabbed Y/N's hand which caused a small confused sound from you but you had no time to react as he started to flee the scene but not without bumping into a taller man with half and half hair into a Filipino girl but that love story was for another day.
When the two of you reached the forest lines, Jogo's pace slowed as he turned to look at you. He seemed to not believe his own actions due to his cause and the fact he did not bring you outside of the city to kill you caused him more confusion. You obviously were scared, unsure of what was going on and why you were taken out of everyone in downtown Osaka but this fear halted when Jogo began to speak.
"Why were you not scared like the rest?" He asked, his voice soft but rugged but that made sense as he did smoke.
"I would be lying if I said I wasn't but what you said made sense." You replied, calmly. Humans have been fighting for equality in their own race since the dawn of time so it did make sense in retrospect even if they are spreading their cause in a very extremist way.
"If you are to expected to live amongst us in peace, you should only be treated the same and the jujutsu sorcerers aren't really helping with that cause. It feels all too familiar with what some of us humans deal with on a daily biases."
Jogo listened, he never payed attention to human politics or situations so this was obviously news to him. He knew that he was going to get shit from Geto later for disobeying and potentially exposing their hiding location but he was glad he did or he wouldn't have had this perspective and mutual understanding from a race he never expected to have that with.
Back to now
Jogo smiled at the thought, as he reached what had become a regular meeting spot for the two of you when you both had the chance to meet. You were waiting with a picnic basket, deciding since it was a beautiful night a picnic would be nice. Jogo was shocked by the gesture but approached the blanket and sat on it as you sat down as well. As you began to get everything out and ready, you looked up as you realized something felt off about Jogo today.
"Whats wrong?" You asked, almost too bluntly.
"Geto and them is all. I mentioned you and your perspective on things and how things should be but Geto didn't like that." Jogo, pulled out his pipe as he spoke, rolling his eye in the process.
You sighed, nodding. You knew, what he called the disaster family, were a bit disconnected on motives and their end game and Jogo's was definitely the most passive even if it wasn't the best way to go about these types of situations.
"Well just know we're equals in my heart, I'll never treat you like you're anything but." You smiled softly at him, Jogo seeming shocked by the wording before returning the smile and puffed out the smoke created from the pipe.
Maybe being good enough for one person was all this poor soul needed, relaxation hitting the cursed spirits face for the first time as he replied.
"I like the sound of that."
