Shooting stars never fly for me
My heart's on Mars, kinda hard to see
They’d always promised each other they’d always be there to back the other up.
All they’d known was war, to kill and to fight.
But you know, you know I'll see you again
You know, you know I'll see you again
They promised each other they’d spend their days together after the war was over, spending time with each other. Catching up on what was taken from them, the life they had never had.
Shooting stars never fly for me
My heart's on Mars, kinda hard to see
Watching as the other was sawing at his own neck, being made to by another’s twisted mind. Trying to stop the other from doing it at the destruction of his own self.
But you know, you know I'll see you again
You know, you know I'll see you again
Wishing he hadn’t made that stupid promise, it looked like he’d failed. Neither of them would survive this, there was no-one else coming.
Feel it in the sunrise
Even in the night time
Seeing another appear in a cloud of smoke. Is this friend or foe? Do you have to defend against another attack? No it was a friend, come to beat the hell out of the twisted one.
It's hard to adjust now
'Cause you ain't around
He’d stopped the other sawing his own head off but he was lying there unmoving. He had to try and get over to him.
Do they treat you real nice?
How'd you like the new town?
No, it can’t be. The other was gone. He was too damaged to continue. He had failed his friend.
Hard to adjust now
'Cause you ain't around, yeah
The newly arrived friend took the other back to base. To see if he could be fixed and brought back. You stayed behind to keep battling.
When will I see you, see you, see you again?
I just wanna hold your hand
Wanting desperately for the other to be ok, to be back with him. He thought there’d be no way so he threw himself into the fight not caring about his own injuries.
When will I see you, see you, see you again?
I just wanna hold your hand
All of a sudden he feels the other’s hand on his shoulder making him stop fighting. Pulling him around and holding him close. This is why he kept fighting, this was the reason for his life.
Shooting stars are flying for me.
My heart’s right here, easy to see.
