The monstrosity of a space station looms before them, cold and merciless. Even with the knowledge of its weak point, their chances are slim, and the pilots know that many of them will not survive this.
But that was a risk they accepted when they joined the Rebellion. However small their chance, they must take it, must believe in it, or else they will all die, and the galaxy will live in even greater terror as more planets follow Alderaan.
The Empire sees this as an act of desperation, and perhaps it is, but the Rebellion will see it through.
