Chapter Text
“Will you marry me?“ Mariano asked, kneeling before Isabella Madrigal, the perfect princess of the Madrigal family.
Isabella sat in her chair frozen with fear. She didn’t want this. She never wanted to marry Mariano. Yet she knew she had to say yes. It was for the family. She was going to be his wife, have his children, and live with him forever. That thought terrified her.
“I will.” She had said, with a plastered smile.
She had stared at her Abuela’s delighted smile and wished she had the strength to say no.
And he had smiled awkwardly as if he wasn’t completely happy, or maybe that was her imagination.
And that had been that. Two weeks later she stood at the front of the church isles. She wore a beautiful white dress that complimented her figure. There she was the perfect bride to the perfect groom.
Isabella stared straight ahead paralyzed with fear and as the preacher spoke the binding words to curse her. She had spoken again “I do.”
She had felt Mariano’s lips on hers with passion in his eyes.
She knew what came next.
And as Mariano carried her bridal style off to her room as everyone watched she felt her heart pounding against her chest. Her life was going to end. How could she share a room with a man she barely knew? Let alone a bed?
And as the door opened, she could tell her fate was sealed. There was no going back. No end to the nightmare. This was it. This would be her life.
