Work Text:
As the sounds of a banjo begin playing , a series of colorful orbs fly out before the scene changes to a young boy sitting on the deck of a cargo ship at night looking at a broken moon. He had black hair and red eyes, his gaze filled with awe as he had many thoughts run through his mind as the ship gently sways in the ocean. The scene then shifts to him in a school’s training room with another boy in front of him with golden hair, he tossed a wooden sword to him which landed at his feet. The black haired boy looked confused as he was prompted to grab it before picking it up finally, the other boy then charged at him right as he held it in his hands. Immediately striking him with his own wooden sword before knocking the blade away from him in only a few strikes. The black haired boy looked shocked before picking up the sword again, swinging it a few times before breathing out and nodding. He looked at the other boy with a smile which was met with a confident yet happy smirk.
The scene then shifted to the black-haired boy reading books with a girl that had purple hair, he had a pensive look on his face before looking at the girl who created a ball of flame with a small smile on her face. He looked at it in awe before it disappeared, making him nod resolutely as he read the book more. Doubling his efforts in understanding it. The young boy was later outside with green trees nearby him, aiming an odd double-barreled revolver at a glass bottle on a wooden box. He tried firing it but it missed, an older man with white hair shook his head. Saying something and helping him aim it better. The boy had a thoughtful expression before nodding as he focused and lined up his shot.
It then shifted to him swinging a wooden training sword, albeit clumsily before slowly getting better as time went on. The scene then changes to him writing down on a piece of paper, he looks at his hand before creating a ball of light. His eyes glimmered as he stared at it before making it disappear, making him write down more before picking up another book to read from a nearby pile of various other books. Later he’s then running outside, panting heavily before collapsing onto his knees. After a few moments, he gets up and then continues running with sweat pouring down his face. His body was exhausted but his eyes determined.
The scene changes once again to him fighting against the golden-haired boy once again. This time clashing the wooden blade against the other boys’, dodging his strikes and blocking them with the spar intensifying. As the scene played out, another began to play with him creating a lightning bolt in his hand as it sparked and glowed. Soon a third scene began to play as he held the double-barreled revolver, focusing his shot on a glass bottle with a determined expression.
Soon afterward, all three scenes came together with him knocking the sword away from the other boy as he shot out lightning from his hand in another with the final scene having him pull the trigger with the glass bottle shattering into pieces. The golden haired boy blinked before smiling, wrapping an arm around the other boy’s shoulder with a proud expression. The purple-haired girl watched as the lightning bolt hit the wall, also proud of the black-haired boy. With the older man smiling softly as the young boy grinned happily at his success.
Soon, the scene shifted to the young boy still training. Swinging a sword while going through various forms, casting magic with a wide variety, shooting guns with each one being different, reading books with a silver-haired boy, and running with a dragon Faunus that had blue hair. Time passed as he grew older, stronger, faster, and more confident. His technique and skills improving more and more with time.
The final scene as the music began to die down was the older man handing him the double-barreled revolver with a proud smile. The young man took the gun, clearly shocked before nodding with a soft expression as he looked at the gun with a gaze filled with memory. It then began to shift to black as the banjo played the last few notes, with colored orbs briefly illuminating a determined expression of the young man’s face as he held the revolver in his right hand. His eyes gleaming with untold strength within before it all finally faded to black.
