awsten was new to the whole ‘him-and-geoff-dating’ thing, but geoff felt completely different; he was super affectionate, super lovey. and trust awsten, he loved that, but it just made him super flustered most of the time.
he was bored hanging around his apartment one day and decided to call geoff, seeing if he had anything to do today.
he answered around the second ring, “hey baby, what’s up?” awsten was screwed off the get-go.
“hey,” the purple haired boy replied shyly, feeling his face heat up at geoff’s soft tone alone. “wanted to see if you were busy today?”
there was silence for a minute, awsten biting his tongue to just say “it’s fine, nevermind.” but he didn’t need to, as geoff said, “never too busy for you, love. did you have something in mind?”
“not really,” awsten replied, wanting to laugh at how hard this was for some reason. “wanna just swing by so i can see you?”
“‘course, i’ll be right there,” he could practically hear the smile in geoff’s voice, warming awsten’s heart.
they hung up and awsten felt hot all over, smiling widely into his hands. this felt like such a supreme victory for some reason, even though him and geoff had been going out for a couple months at that point, but whatever whatever, it’s fine. totally fine.
it didn’t take long for geoff to show up, it never really did. awsten paced the floor another three times before he heard the familiar knock at the door, he took another breath before he opened it. he smiled at his boyfriend, moving to the side so the taller could slide in through the doorframe.
he took his shoes and jacket off before hugging awsten tightly, chuckling a little when the shorter jumped up and wrapped his legs around geoff’s waist, nuzzling even closer to him. the brunette simply kicked the apartment door closed behind them with his sock-cladded foot, before bringing the smaller to his own bedroom.
the taller playfully threw awsten onto his bed, smiling at his little giggles. he lied down next to him, immediately gaining the weight of awsten lying on his chest.
“gee?” the lavender boy asked softly, tracing tiny shapes onto geoff’s chest.
“yeah, love?” the brunette replied just as soft, rubbing his warm hand up and down awsten’s back.
“can we move a little? ‘m sorry,” the shorter replied.
“yeah, ‘course. what were you thinkin’?”
“could you turn on your side and face me?”
and the brunette did just that, arms out and waiting for his boyfriend to fall into them, which didn’t take long—it never did. awsten cuddled into the warmth of geoff, smiling when one of geoff’s hands migrated into his soft purple hair.
“this good, love?” geoff asked, gently kissing the top of awsten’s head.
the purple boy didn’t even reply verbally, nodding instead. but the brunette was okay with this, knowing how his acts make awsten feel, and how overwhelmed he got. but it wasn’t a bad thing at all, for either of them.
they lied like that for a while, geoff’s hand moving from his boyfriend’s hair to his waist, but mostly kept to his hair. he noticed awsten really liked when he messed with his hair, and it was a pretty subtle thing that geoff only just understood; he would cuddle closer, and kind of lean his head into the touch. it was cat-like, and adorable to geoff.
the brunette smiled as awsten hummed against his chest as he began to scratch his scalp. “you like that?”
“mhm,” the purple-haired boy sleepily hummed, leaning into the touch.
“you’re so cute, sweetheart,” the taller found himself saying, his heart feeling full.
“no ‘m not,” awsten’s muffled voice came, sleep-ridden.
“oh but you are,” geoff replied, kissing his head over and over.
awsten soon picked up his head to complain a little but the kisses just migrated to his face, geoff’s soft lips kissing all over, unrelenting.
“geoff! c’mon,” awsten giggled, not making any move to make him stop, instead relishing in the warmth he got.
“oh but you don’t want me to stop, do you?” geoff asked teasingly, stopping his onslaught.
“i don’t like you,” awsten replied, stuffing his face back into the brunette’s chest, huffing and puffing.
the taller rolled his eyes, hooking a finger under the shorter’s chin, making him look up into his eyes. geoff maneuvered his hand to cup awsten’s cheek, smiling at how red he immediately got. “hi sweetheart,” the brunette said, watching awsten get even more flustered.
“shut up, oh my god,” the shorter laughed a little, trying to hide his face again, but geoff wasn’t having it.
“what, love? what’s wrong?” geoff asked teasingly, making awsten look at him again.
“just- god you make this so hard,” the shorter was almost aggravated at himself.
the brunette cut the act and rubbed awsten’s cheek a little, smiling at how he melted into it. “hey, tell me what’s going on. please?”
“you just make things so hard,” awsten replied in more of a whisper. “like don’t get me wrong i like what you do,” he loves it actually but he doesn’t wanna say that quite yet. “it just makes me all,” he just pointed to his face with a slight giggle.
“if you want me to cut back i can,” geoff replied. “i don’t wanna make you uncomfortable, aws.”
“nono,” awsten replied immediately, “keep doing what you do. i gotta get used to it.”
“but what if i don’t want you to get used to it?” geoff mumbled, leaning in a little.
“w-what do you mean?” the younger asked, kind of intimidated by the closeness.
“i like when you’re like this, all flustered and red, can’t even talk back,” the brunette replied, leaning in even more.
“kiss me? please?” awsten whispered, whimpering a little when geoff finally made the distance. it was such a soft kiss, so warm and gentle.
the brunette slowly pulled away, smiling at awsten’s blissed out expression, a small smile playing on his lips as well. “you’re so adorable, sweetheart.”
and that sent awsten over the edge, leaning in a little to initiate another kiss, which geoff fully accepted. the brunette pulled awsten on top of him, lying on his back. the kiss remained timid and light, their hearts accelerate with every small movement.
they pulled away again, awsten immediately laying down on geoff, not wanting him to see his bright red face. but the brunette didn’t press him, knowing how timid he was about relationships, especially since they were best friends years prior to this. they wanted to take this slow, make sure this doesn’t get messed up. losing each other was always a fear, but they tried not to think about it—wanting to just live in the now, worry about future shit later.
“you okay?” geoff asked after some moments passed, rubbing awsten’s back under his t-shirt.
“mhm,” the purple boy hummed.
“okay, sweetheart,” the brunette replied, kissing his head gently.
“i r’lly like that one,” the shorter sleepily mumbled, feeling so cozy he could just nap right there.
“oh yeah?”
“mhm.”
“then i guess i’ll just hav’ta use it more.”
