Chapter Text

It started when Yuu was young, that day she was sick and her mother had left her alone at home, she remembers her mother leaving the TV opened and seeing, for the first time in her life, an idol performance. Yuu remember's thinking things like: "Wow! She's so good at dancing and singing!" and  "She's so cute! She looks like she's shining!!"

At first she thought that maybe if she worked hard enough she could also be as good as that idol, but a small part of herself told her that even if she tried her best, she'll never be as good. That's when she heard her idol say something that she remembers till this very day,"The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. So even if today isn't a good day, it may be better tomorrow. This is the hope I want to deliver as an idol to everyone... that's my wish."

That day she learned that an idol's job was to make people smile and she decided from that day onwards that she also wants to become an idol. She remembers her parents supporting her and even getting her music and dancing lessons. When she was old enough she tried to audition to join an idol agency again and again, she failed each time but continued to try because she had people to support her and her dream, people she did not want to disappoint. That was before the tragic day her parents passed away in a car accident, just a few days before she got transported to a magical world called "Twisted Wonderland".

A few days after the VDC accident, Yuu finally had some time for herself so she decided to make the most of it. All of Vil's lesson reminded her of her music teacher's lesson back in her world 'I haven't practiced in a long time' she taught 'may I should practice again soo–' her thoughts were interrompt by her fellow first year

"Hello??? Twisted Wonderland to Yuu?" she heard Ace say "Huh what happened??" She asked, she should stop zoning out. "I was about to give you your dare but then you started zoning out!" Ace pouted "Are you okay Yuu? You've been zoning out for quite a while now" Deuce asked worried. Yuu looked around and noticed that Epel and Ortho also seemed quite worried (Jack and Sebek too but she wasn't gonna put these two tsunderes on the spot) "Yeah! I'm fine! Sorry for making you worry" she said sheepishly.

"ANYWAYS! Yuu you're dare is to show us something embarrassing that you used to do back in your world!" Ace yelled "H-huh?! No way!" Yuu yelled back blushing furiously "C'moooon!! A dare is a dare!" Ace yelled back "Yeah!! I wan't to see too!" Epel butted in. "Epel! Not you too!" Epel just grinned while Ace burst out laughing 

"I got to say, I'm also curious but if you don't want to do it Yuu, we won't force you." Jack interrupted, out of the corner of her eyes she could see Deuce and Ortho nodding to what Jack said "Hmph! She was the one who said that a dare was a dare! You humans just love too go back on your words!" Sebek complained (yelled) and Grim just was sitting there, laughing.

"Yeah, yeah, just laugh it all up. Fine I'll do it." She sighed. "But just don't laugh at me!" She said as she got in position. All of the first years just sat down and watched curiously.

As she she started dancing, suddenly it turned dark and around Yuu, a few blue staves with music notes appeared out no where and it suddenly looked like they were floating in space

Singing so bright is what makes me feel alive

It's the life I decide as I run and belt throughout the night

"It's your voice that is guiding me and gives me piece of mind"

As she danced and sang Yuu took in the look on her fellow first years face trying to find out what they were thinking 

Zero up to one is all that I'm dreaming of

But you showed me a world beyond the skies that I can touch

From that day evermore I felt my heart so brightly beating

Bursting with this lovey-dovey feeling now

Ace sat there eyes and mouth wide open as if trying to catch a bug. Yuu couldn't help but think if she was singing or dancing horribly.

It's the pulse through the night that sets my heart alight

Can't believe even me could laugh on so easily

As I'm taken by the beat in the quantum breeze

As the refrain hit, Yuu continued to dance to the rhythm ('where did the music come from?!' The rest of the first years cried out) hands and legs moving in sync she noticed Deuce and Grim sitting beside Ace eyes just as wide as him looking almost incredulous ('Is my voice really that bad?' Yuu thought)

All that I know is I hate being alone

'Cause wherever I go there's the fear I'll end up on my own so

Right by your side take my hand and hold it tight

'Cause it's you that is guiding me and gives me peace of mind

The next chorus came in and Yuu couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia, this was the first ever Vocaloid song she listened and performed, she remembers performing this for her parents after the first month of lessons, she remembers them crying out of pure joy and giving her the brightest smile she has ever seen on their face

When I'm all alone I'm just nothing but a joke

Yet you gave me your song and let me sing it even so

From that day evermore I felt my heart so brightly beating

Bursting with this lovey-dovey feelin- now

Epel and Ortho's eyes twinkled with wonder, was this a illusion spell?! Suddenly Yuu who was in her dorm uniform was wearing a completely white dress with some blue accents, she even had wings coming out of her back! She looked just like those angels described in books!

As I'm taken by the beat in the quantum breeze

As the end of the song was nearing Yuu was more confident in herself and fully concentrated on the rhythm of the song. Jack and Sebek were left dumbfounded. They thought Yuu was magicless?! So how does she just get space into her dorm just by singing?! They had so many questions yet so little answers 

All I need to survive is to be right by your side

It's the pulse through the night that sets my heart alight

Can't believe even me could laugh on so easily

Like an angel in the sky flying high and free

Since it was nearly the end, Yuu decided to close her eyes and let the rhythm of the instrumental and Miku's voice guide her. ('Wow I listened to this song so much I even hear the instrumental' she thought, little did she know she wasn't the only one hearing it)

As I'm taken by the beat in the quantum breeze

Once the song finished, everything turned back to normal. It was as if nothing happened at all! All of the first years remained silent until Yuu broke the silence "So? What do you guys think?" She asked curiosity on her face

"Henchman... what was that?! Didn't you say you were magicless?!" Grim yelled out "Huh? What do you mean?" Yuu tilted her head confused "I am magicless you were there during the entrance ceremony weren't you? Even the mirror said so!" Yuu retorted 

"Then there must have been an error! Ain't no way that was normal!" Ace yelled incredulous "Yes, human, I that was clearly an advanced type of illusion magic!" Sebek added

"Illusion magic? What are you all talking about?!" Yuu questioned curiously "I have a recording of everything! I can show you if you don't believe us prefect!" Ortho offered.

After Ortho showed them the recording, everyone was left even more confused, turns out even Yuu herself didn't know what was happening. They decided to investigate another day since it was getting dark.

After seeing everyone out Gril suddenly asked "Henchman are you sure you don't have any magic? That was really weird!" He wasn't wrong, it's not everyday that you see a recreation of Miku's MV in real life, in a world where she probably doesn't even exist nonetheless! "Yes I'm pretty sure, beside if I do have magic I would've been assigned to a dorm the entrance ceremony day!" Yuu answered, "I guess you're right..." Grim replied, to tired to say more.

As they went to bed you couldn't help but think 'I don't have any magic right?...' they fell asleep with many questions but little answers.

Chapter Text

As Yuu entered the classroom, she was greeted by the first years ( minus Sebek since he was on guard duty) and the light music club. A few months after the incident (they were busy with they Idia and Malleus's overbolt) decided that they could ask them for help, after all they do have more knowledge in both music and magic than them.

"Remind me why do I have to wear this again?" The prefect deadpanned. She was wearing a dark blue dress/suit with gold accents, with a black shirt underneath, she also had black straps as sleeves on her left arm with a black belt. She had a white bow around her neck, white gloves. On her head was a blue rose with two light blue feathers and a dark blue bow. 

"It's to get in the mood!" Kalim replied excitedly, Cater nodded in agreement with his phone in his hands ready to record the prefect, shame the prefect didn't want them to tell anyone. That meant he couldn't post it on magical. Ever since the first years showed Kalim, Cater and Lilia the video of THE prefect of Ramshackle singing he couldn't wait to see her sing in person.  

"Remember you will only be singing since this classroom isn't big enough to dance in so just focus on your singing" Lilia reminded them, truth to be told he was also curious about the prefects magic since according to the mirror the prefect WAS magicless.

Yuu just nodded, took a deep breath and the performance began. Suddenly out of nowhere an music started playing and instead of being in the classroom they were a few seconds ago, they were now at what seemed to be the front row of a concert if the blue lightsticks around them were anything to go buy while Yuu was standing on the stage.

Do you know who I am?

Do you think I look cute?

What do you think about my singing?

Did I manage to sing well?

As Yuu began to sing, they all went silent. The prefect voices will never seize to shock them, they had an amazing voice and sounded just like a professional singer.

My costume and make-up,

Do I look cute wearing them?

My dancing and my fanservice too,

Do they make you happy?

My hands are getting cold

And my legs are shaking

Even so, I still wanted to keep on fighting

Because I’m an idol

As the refrain was about to start, Yuu couldn't help but relate to the lyrics, it reminded her of her first time auditioning for an idol agency and how she cried when they rejected her, how she pulled herself up after and continued to try even harder.

I hate the people who make fun of me

I don’t like to be looked down on either

And words like “Idols are nothing”

Don’t say them when you haven’t even actually seen them!

As the refrain hit the prefect opened her eyes and Cater couldn't help but look at her, the sheer look of determination in her eyes, it was the same look she had when they decided to stop the overblolt Riddle, the same look that made him want to try harder every he saw it.

Don’t take my hard work for granted

And words like “Idols are nothing”

are the one thing I hate the most in this world!

As the idol continued to sing, Ace thought of the first the day of school, of how he mocked both Yuu and Grim and called them lame. The pure look of anger on the prefect's face still gave him shiver to this day.

Because you can’t see my private life

I don’t think you’d know this side of me

My personality is actually pretty bad

Did I manage to fool you?

As Yuu sand the lyrics, Epel couldn't help but feel cut by them. It reminded him of how he felt before his dormhead's overbolt how he wasn't able to act like himself or speak with his accent. How he was expected to act with elegance and grace everyday.

But it’s the truth, I’m being serious

Please love me the way I am

And become my fan

Is that a selfish thing to ask?

Kalim felt a mix of excitement and shock, after all isn't it amazing that the prefect of Ramshackle, who mas magicless managed to get a whole concert venue into a sigle classroom?! He wondered if Yuu used to perform back in there world? If so why did she never say anything it?! She's so talented her voice is amazing and after according to the recording her dancing was amazing too! He couldn't help but wonder if she'll accept joining the light music club.

I’m sure that I’m not cute

I already knew it all

Even so, I still wanted to be liked

Because I’m an idol

The lyrics reminded Deuce of the prefect, how even if they didn't have any magic they still managed to get it NRC, how they would fight someone who overbolted even if it was dangerous and it meant they could possibly day, how they would help anyone with no hesitation (if they were rewarded). He thought that the song suited them quite well.

I hate people who say sarcastic things

I hate people who keep making excuses too

And words like “Is that all?”

Don’t just say them so lightly!

Suddenly everything around turned pink, from the lightsticks to Yuu's dress. Ortho was once again left in wonder by Yuu's power, surely this had to be some kind of advance illusion magic! He'll have to ask the light music club later, for now he'll just admire the prefect's singing.

are the one thing I hate the most in this world!

Jack is reminded of the time, 2 days before Azul's overbolt where she beat up some students from Savanaclaw with ease, how he thought that she was just some defenseless damsel in distress trapped in an unknown world, you really can't judge a book by its cover.

Cutting through the headwinds

Suddenly, a blinding seemed to surround the prefect as she extended her hand, Lilia could just stare in awe, the Ramshackle prefect looked ethereal with the way the lights framed her face. He was pleasantly surprised by how well the illusion spell was working, the fact that Yuu, a otherworldly person who wasn't able to use magic and yet managed to use such an advanced spell is something that he couldn't wrap his head around. And the song itself was amazing, despite not understanding anything, he could feel a feeling of pure determination, it suited the Ramshackle prefect's image really well.

Without all the support

I can’t do any work

I can’t live my life

by doing only the things that I like

Even though I’m supposed to give you energy,

I continue to receive them instead

Until the day I can repay you comes,

Wait for me!

Yuu thought back to all the times where even if it was her job to cheer up her friends, they were the one who cheered her up instead. They would hang out with her when she felt like an outcast, protect her whenever she gets in trouble and just listening to her when she needed to vent.

Even when the cheering have died down

Even when people have gotten bored of me

I still wanted to keep smiling

Because I’m an idol

Just as the song was about to reach the end, the lights from the lightsticks down and the rhythm of the song seemed to die as if to say that the song was coming to an end and that the crowd seemed to lose their interest, but there stood Yuu in the middle of the stage still wearing the same smile on her face, as if the diminishing crowd didn't bother her.

With the love given by my passionate fans

With the love given by the staff members

With the love my family have always given me

I continue to live

“As an idol”

Yuu thought back to her parents who supported her dream no matter how many times she failed, to her teachers who were so patient with her, to all the idol agencies staff who were gentle with her even while rejecting her and to her friends in Twisted Wonderland who made her feel accepted. She knows that she'll probably never be able to express how she feels just with words so she hope that one day, she'll be able to put on a show and express how she really feels by doing what she loves.

Don’t say them when you haven’t even actually seen them!

Everyone in the room could see just happy Yuu was, her her eyes seemed to shine as bright as the stars, how she sang like her life depended on it and how much fun she was having just by singing. That happiness was contagious and they couldn't help but smile with her. As the song was ending, the prefects dress turned back to it's original state and the lightsticks, instead of turning back to blue, turned into a golden yellow color.

As the song ended, Yuu raised her fist up just like Mona did in the MV and smiled the biggest smile they have ever seen on her face. Once it ended, they were back in the classroom where they were in the beginning.

"That was amazing Yuu! How did you manage to get a whole concert venue into the classroom?!" Kalim asked excitedly holding Yu's hands in his with stars in his eyes and continued to ramble.

The prefect just smiled at him clearly flustered and trying to form a sentence while Grim just deadpanned and said "That's what we wanted to know too! We went to see you guys cause we thought you'd know something!" He yelled sounding annoyed.

"Here some water. You're throat must be dry after all that singing" Lilia said as he gave Yuu a glass of water, Yuu thanked him and chugged half the glass in one go . "Though I must say that you're performance was magnificent, I'm guessing that the song is from your world? After all I've never heard that language before." He said in a matter of fact tone.

"It is! The language is Japanese as it's a song from my country, Japan!" Yuu confirmed. "Interestin—" "What is it about?! I want to know!" Cater asked cutting Lilia off enthusiastically, the rest of the first years agreed with him, Yuu doesn't talk about her world often. This is a great opportunity to learn about her world's (or country's in this case) culture!

"The song is about a girl boasting pride in her profession as an idol. In the song, she talks about how hard she and others have worked to stand where they are, how much her fans and family's commitment means to her, and that being an idol has been a passion for her." Yuu explained as she remembered how understood she felt when hearing that song for the first time.

"Anyways, do you guys know anything about the illusion "magic" that happened while I was singing?" Yuu asked, getting back on the reason why there here in the first place as Epel and Ortho looked toward there upperclassmen expectantly. "Oh yeah I totally forgot that's why where here" Ace mumbled mound enough for Deuce to hear, if his snickering was anything to go by.

"Oh yeah! Uh I don't know anything about it... what about you guys!" Kalim asked Lilia and Cater, with too enthousiasmant if you asked Yuu. "Nope!" Cater said popping the 'p'. "Although I have lived quite long, I have never seen anything like this before." Lilia said shaking his head "Although it seems harmless, and you don't seem to be accumulating blot so you should probably be fine." He added.

"I see..." Ortho said disappointed, seems like even Lilia didn't have any information on this. Maybe it's because the prefect is from another world? "Ugh, in the end we did all this for nothing." Jack sighed tiredly. "Hey! At least we got to hear Yuu sing again!" Epel tried to cheer him up. "Yeah! Speaking of singing! You should DEFINITELY join the light music club prefect!" Kalim said excitedly, he really wanted Yuu to join them that way he'll definitely get to hear them singing more often, maybe he'll even get to see them dance!

"I totes agree! You'd be an amazing addition to the club prefect!" Cater eagerly agreed with Kalim and Lilia just nodded, after all who where they to deny an opportunity to hear Yuu sing again? "Really? I can?" Yuu asked, will she be able to sing and perform again like she used too? "Of course! Plus we would love to hear you sing again, maybe next time we could even see you dance, khee hee~" Lilia said, although a bit mischievously. "That's not fair! I want to hear the prefect sing too!" Ace said, one would say that he sounded like a child throwing a tantrum. "Should've joined the music club then! Though who knows maybe you could drop by practice when you're free! So whaddya say Yuu? Care to join the club?" Cater asked eagerly surely Yuu wouldn't deny them?

"Id love too! Please take care of me!" Yuu responded happily, as she did a perfect 90° bow "Hooray! We get to see prefect more often now!" Kalim shouted out happily as he and Cater cheered while Lilia just smiled. "Whe should do a official performance soon! It could be like an official debut for Yuu! Who knows you might even get recruited by a few agencies!" Cater proposed as he, Kalim and Lilia planned things out while Ace just whined, something about hoping the prefect doesn't accept since that meant they would have less time with the prefect, the rest of the first years tried to calm him down even tho some of them (namely Deuce, Epel and Jack) agreed with him while Ortho was just happy for Yuu.

'A debut huh?' Seems like she could still become an idol, even if she wasn't in her old world, she still had the chance to become one and this time around, she won't be alone anymore (even though she wasn't exactly alone since she had her parents), this time she was surrounded by her friends who supported her, and she wouldn't dream of disappointing them.

Chapter Text

The members of the light music club where now standing on the stage, Yuu couldn't help but feel nervous. This wasn't the first time she would be performing on stage but it is her first performance in a while even if it's only in the Monstro Lounge she couldn't help but feel grateful for the light music club for letting her join them. To her left she could see Lilia finishing tuning his electric bass, on her right stood Cater who was looking back at her throwing her a peace sign and in the back she could her Kalim humming the song they were about to perform while sitting on his drum chair.

As the curtains opened, the light in Monstro Lunge closed while the stage lighted up everyone looked towards, from where she was she could make out Ace, Deuce, Jade, Floyd and Azul from the crowd

As the music started, even though the public could only see Kalim on the drums, Cater on the guitar and Lilia on the bass, somehow they could also hear other instruments such as trumpets and other instruments. They couldn't help but wonder if it was some sort of magic as suddenly they all found themselves in what looked like an theater instead of the Monstro Lounge.

Hey! Sometimes upbeat, sometimes calm

Turning around? Back and forth?

Let me hear your music

Cater's relaxing yet upbeat voice resounded in the "theater" as the crowd quiet down, everyone coudn't help but feel a bit more cheerful because of the upbeat music.

No matter the sound, it's our own precious feelings

There's no mistaking it, my heart is shaken

That will be your original music

As Lilia's part came one, his voice slightly lower and sounding almost mischievous complimenting Cater's higher voice.

Yuu's part came up next, you could her the joy in her voice, it was like she was having the time of her life (she may as well have), though her voice was softer and higher than her club mates, no one could deny that they sound good together.

I can do anything!

And finally, it was Kalim's turn, his energy's matching Yuu's while he played the drums with mirth, the word "joy" was practically written all over his face.

The possibilities of the rhythms that leave a mark on everyone's mind are endless

And we'll find a brand new song!

"Everyone together!" The Ramshackle prefect said out loud, even if she knew that they probably did not now the lyrics to the song, she had learned to interact with the public from times to times so they don't get bored.

As the four sang together, their public let a smile creep onto their face, they couldn't help it really, the song was so fun on the energy of the four was just too contagious.

Today is again the first page of the musical score

Cater and Kalim sang together, their voice fitting surprisingly well together as they hit a high note surprising the crowd.

As the refrain ended and the chorus started, the instrumental calmed down a little but it's rythme still staying upbeat as well as the singers contagious joy.

As Kalim sang he bobbed his head to the rythm of his drums, tuning out the sound of Cater's guitar and Lilia's bass.

In the corner of the room, you could see Azul working on something (probably some sort of contract to get the light music club to perform more at Monstro Lounge) while tapping his finger the the rythm of the song.

It's a parade full of cuteness~! (Music!)

It's not a dream but a brand new song!

"Good job, everyone!" Kalim whispered to his club mates, the song was quite long but they distributed the lyrics evenly among the four of them, it was quite a upbeat song the required some energy to set the mood so it could be quite tiring. After he said that his club mates just smiled at him while he did a quick trick with his drumsticks.

Harmonizing tututuru

Ever since the performance began Ace and Deuce had been quiet not even talking to each other, they couldn't help but think of how the music seemed to fit the light music club like a glove. They couldn't explain maybe it was the vide of the club? It just seemed so lighthearted just like the tone of the song. No matter, they continued to listen to song while Ace recorded their singing to send it to the other first years who couldn't attend because of their Houswarden (Cater convinced Riddle to let them come watch the performance).

This time it was Lilia and Yuu's turn to sing together, though you could easily make out one voice from the other they still somehow sounded good together in a weird but not bad way.

If you listen carefully, you'll hear the tick tack!

I heard your music

"Everyone! Let's go!" Cater cheered while pointing towards the crowd even though he was speaking to his club mates. An "OK!" resounded throughout the room as everyone cheered with him.

"Let's do it together too~!" Lilia said right after confusing the crowd who soon understood what he meant after hearing the rest of the club screaming saying "Wonderhoy!" (What does that even mean?!) you could hear a few people also saying out a quiet "W-Wonderhoy..." from the crowd

"Guys, let's go!" Kalim all but yelled out scaring some Savanaclaw students though it was not loud enough to damage their ears. Besides him Floy hear Jade mutter a quiet "What a powerful voice..." as the rest of the crowd hear Lilia chuckle out a "He sure is energetic now."

"Go, go!" Yuu cheered just like an idol would, somewhere in the crowd you could hear Ace laughing saying something like "As expected of an idol..." though Deuce could nearly hear him as the crowd and the rest of the light music club yelled out a "Go, go!" Cheering with Yuu.

"Let's go even further!" Continued to laugh while Cater and Lilia laughed out and said "That goes without saying!" while Yuu, slightly dazed as she didn't expect the crowd to cheer with her so suddenly (She was just following the lyrics!) let out a quiet "Y-Yeah!"

"Everyone, well done! Khee hee~" Lilia chuckled, he was having quite a lot of fun if he does say so himself, the lyrics to this where quite interesting aswell, he'll have to ask the prefect for the synopsis of the song later.

As the song ended, everyone was once again back in Monstro Lounge while the lights slowly turned back on again the light music club bowed and went off the stage and into the backstage to take a small break before going off their own way.

As Yuu rejoined Ace and Deuce, a bright smile on her face as they starting talking between themselves as Ace and Deuce complimented her (mostly Deuce cause Ace is a big tsundere) she saw Azul and the Tweels approach them with food and drink wich confused her since Ace and Deuce already ordered.

Azul seemed to notice her confusion as he shook his head "This is for you, as a thank you for the performance" he clarified giving her the food with his signature business man smile.

"Koebi-chan~ that song was from your word right~? I nerver heard it before~" Floyd said dropping himself over Yuu as she tanked Azul for the food and started eating.

"That's right! It's a song from my world!" Yuu responded (after finishing chewing on her food) "Oya? Since you rarely talk about your world , would you care to share the story behind the song?" Jade butted in with his usual smile.

"Oh! Sure! Though I'm not very sure about the story behind the song myself..." Azul looked slightly disappointed since that probably meant that it wasn't reliable information "but I've heard that this version of the song was supposed be a school's anthem, hence why it began with a "Welcome to MIKUdemy" and that each time there's a graduation ceremony the students have to sing this sing as a some sort of graduation performance" Yuu explained, she wasn't sure if this is true since she only read it somewhere but couldn't find any confirmation.

"Schools have anthems in your world?!" Ace yelled out shocked. "Umm... not most schools but I think private schools does sometimes? Or so I heard." Yuu explained trying to calm Ace down

"I see... well thank you for the performance again prefect, but we have to get back to work. I trust we'll see you again sometime?" Azul said getting up while Yuu nodded at his question. Though Azul had said that they had some work to do, Floyd didn't want to let go so they had a hard time trying to get him off of Yuu, though after some coercing and the promise of Yuu coming again to perform sometime he finally let go.

When Yuu arrived at Ramshackle after she bid good night to Ace and Deuce she was exhausted, but happy at the same time, she hadn't had that much fun singing in a long time! Guess she should be grateful for appearing in a new world huh? She made her first friends here and had her first performing experience ever, and since she had no one to go back for she hoped she could stay here with all her friends... well that was a subject for another day.

When she arrived in her room Grimm was already asleep having decided to stay back at the dorm since he hear Yuu practice that song many times already he was already tired of it and didn't want to hear it again. As soon as she hit the bed she immediately feel asleep and drifted off to dream land.

Chapter Text

A few days after the show, Yuu was wandering around the school's campus until she passed the music club's room. Inside, you could see a bunch of different music instruments playing but her eyes zoomed into a piano.

'Huh, I haven't played the piano in a while.' She thought to herself getting inside the room leaving the door open, she was alone today, the rest of the light music club were busy with their own lives and her friends had club activities to attend.

She sat down and put her fingers on the piano keys, a feeling of nostalgia rushing through her, she could remember her teacher berating her saying something among the lines of straightening her back, and doing it on instinct.

'Since there's no one here, I may as well occupy myself with something.' She told herself, unbeknownst to her, a certain someone happened to be nearby.

Ruggie was going around the campus looking for Leona to remind him to go to his remedial class (also to wake him up cause there's no way he's not asleep somewhere) when suddenly he heard the sounds of a piano coming from the music room.

'Huh, I just saw Cater though? Isn't the light music club busy today?' He tought to himself, deciding that he probably wouldn't be in too much trouble if he stopped looking for Leona for a short while.

As he approached the music room, the sound of the piano got louder and louder until he stopped right at the door, not expecting to see Yuu, the Ramshackle prefect sitting there.

He was about to greet her when suddenly, she started singing a cherry blossoms petals started appearing swaying in the "wind", 'I could've sworn the windows where closed?! Wait... the rumors about the light music club's illusion magic was really true?!'

As the song begun, Yuu closed her eyes and imagined herself in a field full of Sakura trees, the pink flower's petals flowing in the air, the feeling of the cold air flowing through her while she leapt across the field.

Ruggie was stunned, not only was the prefect super good with the piano but her voice sounded amazing, now that he thinks about it, he had heard from some random student about a performance by the light music club in monstro lounge, seems like she decided to join the club huh?

As the prefect continued to sing, completely unaware of her surroundings, Ruggie quietly sat down at a table closest too the door to listen, for once he was grateful for Leona's uncanny ability to disappear for a nap.

In Yuu's mind, she could see herself on top of a mountain shrine, with people all over wearing traditional clothes from Japan and at the very top, there stood a guillotine that was molding, from not getting taken care for many years she imagined.

Ruggie was feeling more relaxed than he'd ever been this week, the song itself was like a lullaby, and Yuu's relaxed and calm voice wasn't helping with his sleepiness, though as calming as the song was, the lyrics were pretty dark, something about revolution shouldn't be associated with such a calm rhythm. (Little did he know that the original version was much more upbeat than this)

Veterans who've trained through struggles are now officers in battle

Here and there, we see the harlots in procession  

This one, that one, doesn't matter, every single person gathers

On the imaginary mountain in Yuu's mind, she could hear the sound of soldiers behind her, marching forward to protect the people who they had dedicated their life too, she always had a profound admiration for soldiers, being able to even want to lay down your life for your nation, even if you didn't half the people in it, was something to respect.

As Ruggie listened to the song, Ruggie wondered what the song was about, was it all invented with no real historical facts behind or was it, on the contrary based on true historical event? He wondered if he the prefect would answer his questions, this was a chance to know more about the prefect's world and hometown.

A sense of hope washed over both the people in the room, a feeling of peace that made them feel like everything was gonna be alright, that once the rain finished pouring the sun will shine once the more, they couldn't help but cling onto that feeling in fear that it'll disappear forever.

The song was about to reach it's end, if the the sound of the piano getting quieter was anything to tell by, for the occupants of the room it felt like it was ending all too soon, they wanted the song to continue on forever, to cling onto that feeling of hope forever.

Yuu was starting to get emotional, though it wasn't a necessarily emotional song for most people, for Yuu, the song meant a lot, for her it was a song about forgetting the past and focusing on today to forge a path for tomorrow. It was a song about hope, hope for a better future for both herself and her loved ones.

As the song ended, Yuu kept her eyes closed for a little while longer, enjoying the peace she felt inside the comfort of her mind, the peaceful atmosphere reminding her of where she came from. Even though she made the choice to not return to her old world, to stay here with her friends, the first friends she ever had, her family.

She sometimes felt homesick, it wasn't something she could control, it was only natural to feel homesick after spending so long in another place where she didn't even have an identity. But she couldn't and wouldn't say that she regretted anything, ever.

When the song ended, Ruggie sat there quietly, observing the prefect, she seemed so relaxed and calm, an expression he rarely see on her face, after all, when he sees her, she was either smiling or laughing at a joke someone from her little gang of friends made.

Once he deemed that he was staring for long enough, he sat up as quietly as he could, as to not startle the prefect was was lost in her own world. He left the room and began to do what he came for, which was to drag Leona to class.

Though in the back of his mind, Ruggie was laughing at Leona for missing this performance. Serves him right! If he wasn't sleeping everyday and everywhere than he wouldn't have missed this!

Chapter Text

It's been a few days since the performance, after a discussion with Ortho, Yuu agreed to go to Ignyhide for some more research about the illusions that keeps on happening every time she sings.

That's how she found herself in a empty room in Ignyhide waiting for Idia to get started on the examination. She wondered how Ortho even managed to get Idia to agree to this anyways.

"I can't believe I agreed to this..." Idia muttered, though she was able to hear it since he was speaking loudly enough for her to hear it.

"Anyways, you got everything right? Start from songs you're less used to sing and slowly start singing some that you're more used to sing." Idia explained to Yuu as he looked at anywhere but her.

"You got it!" Yuu explained, actually excited since she got to sing songs she normally wouldn't since it was outside of her comfort zone.

When Idia agreed with Ortho to do some research on the Ramshackle prefect's so called "illusion magic" he didn't expect to witness Ignyhide's drom to get darker then it already is and hear the prefect cursing him out, telling him to shut up and for her voice to go lower than it has ever been.

There were some telltale hints of illusion magic but they weren't strong enough for him to get any info. So as the prefect started singing songs she was more used to singing, the signs were augmenting more and more.

It wasn't until the last song the prefect sang that he finally witnessed the "illusion" magic Ortho mentioned.

Instead of the white room they previously where, the room suddenly turned it a random street which scared the living heck out of Idia who was immediately blinded by the bright ass sun.

As if not bothered by the sudden change of environment, the prefect just started walking around the street, skipping while still singing the whole time. It seemed like the walls of the room also disappeared.

As the refrain was about to hit, Idia was once again amazed by the prefect to make everything much more interesting. When Ortho first came to him talking about the prefect and illusion magic, he had scoffed saying something along the lines of "Don't be dumb Ortho, the prefect doesn't have any magic how could she possibly have illusion magic?" But now that he was able to witness it for himself, he couldn't help but stare in awe.

Let's jump into our world "SEKAI"

Suddenly, they found themselves back in a white room but this time there was a classroom, colorful triangles, a staves with even more colorful music notes while started jumping up and down while dancing. Just looking at her made him feel tired.

I'm not even scared of getting lost on the way to the unnamed world that we call "SEKAI"

Because I'm with you

I can change myself as I imagined

Now is the tile for us to continue on

To the place where wonderful new experiences await

Ortho was once again in awe, he'll never get tired of Yuu's singing no matter how many times he listen to it. The prefect's voice was just so soft she could probably put him to sleep.

As the prefect finished singing, Idia felt kinda disappointed. He wanted Yuu to sing for even longer but he knew that she couldn't since she had other things to do. Maybe he could ask Ortho to show him other recordings of Yuu singing?

"This is quite unusual... you don't seem to be making any blot which is kind of weird with the amount of energy illusion magic seem to take. Especially while dancing and singing." Idia explained "but it's possible that it's only magic from your world or something. Which would explain why the Dark Mirror did not detect any magic in you" he finished.

"So there's technically nothing wrong with me? But that's strange since nobody in my world have any magic anyways..." Yuu asked to no one in particular, she was quite confused. 'How could this be possible though? I thought that magic didn't exist on Earth?'

"Yeah while this is the only explanation I can come up with for now." Idia sighed, this was going to give him a headache for sure. "I'll look more into it but I can't guarantee any result." He shrugged.

"Thanks Idia! I should get going now, thank you for your time!" You exclaimed getting ready to go. She waved to both Idia and Ortho and exited the room. Once you was out of the room Idia let our a sigh of relief.

"Hey Ortho, got any more recordings of Yuu singing?" He asked, looking at Ortho straight in the eyes.

It's been a few weeks ever since the examination with the Shroud brothers, nothing eventful has happened at Night Raven College shockingly. Well, before now that is, the headmage decided to hold a last minute meeting with everyone attending NRC, on her way to the Mirror Chamber, Yuu could hear people complaining about the meeting and how they had to put everything on hold just for it.

Not that Yuu blamed them for complaining, if anything she agreed with them as she was planning on hanging out with the other first years after quite the stressful year. But seems like that would have to wait now.

As Yuu arrived at the Mirror Chamber, she immediately noticed her fellow who had saved a spot for her, even if some of them would never admit it, which made her smile fondly before she headed towards them. "Prefect, you're here." Jack said, being the first one to notice her, which immediately got the other first years attention, who all greeted her in turns. "Good morning guys." She beamed. "Do you boys not what this meeting is about?" She inquired curiously. "No idea, though knowing, can't be any good. "Ace replied, before Crowley walked out into the center of the room, catching all of their attention.

"Good morning students of Night Raven College! I am here to make a truly wonderful announcement!" Crowley exclaimed as soon as everyone's attention we're on him. "Crowley. Please, we don't have enough time for your drama." Leone sighed in irritation, probably because his sleeping time has been interrupted. "Shishishi." Was heard from a carefree Ruggie besides him.

" Ahem. But of course! For I am truly gracious!" Crowley exclaimed, clearing his throat. "After the... action-packed events that happened in VDC." Crowley started, to which some people responded by tensing up. Especially the dorm leader of Pomefiore.

"I have graciously decided to host another event!" Crowley exclaimed, lightening the atmosphere. "Oh? What type of event?" Malleus asked in curiosity, yes, he was warned of the meeting, by Yuu herself.

"Well, Mr. Draconia. I'm glad you asked!" Crowley replied happily. "The event will be a musical theater competition!" He exclaimed. A gloomy atmosphere filled the room, all of the students looked at Crowley with a deadpan. "There will be a total of three teams, each team will be representing their year, of course the fourth years will not participate as they are currently on internship." Crowley explained, ignoring the gloomy atmosphere.

"Each team will be given a month to prepare for their performance. The teams will be judged by Professor Crewel, Professor Trein, Professor Vargas, Sam and I! There will be four prize so each team will be given a reward no matter what. Each students representing will be chosen at random via pull." Crowley explained, while the room atmosphere seemed to get lighter at the mention of prize.

"And the teams are unanticipated..." Vil sighed disapprovingly. "Well can't be worse then VDC that's for sure." He added. "No objections? Wonderful!" Crowley exclaimed happily making Jamil scoff. "As if he would listen to our objections." He said nonchalantly. "Don't say that! I'm sure he would've at least listened our reasoning!" Kalim scolded.

"Let's us begin with the pulls!" Crowley exclaimed gaining everyone's attention, as he started pulling names for each year. The team representing the third years were Vil, Leona, Lilia, Cater, Idia, Trey and Rook. "Leona and Vil in one team... that's just a disaster waiting to happen..." Jack noted, while the other first years sweated. The second yeats were represented by Riddle, Ruggie, Kalim, Silver, Azul, Jamil and Jade and the first years by Ace, Deuce, Yuu, and by technicality Grim, Epel, Sebek, Jack and Ortho.

Once they decided the teams, they also needed to decide which team will be going first, so Crowley pulled at random again, the second years will perform first, then followed by the third years and lastly the first years.

"Hey, Ortho, what are the chances of this ending well?" Epel asked with a deadpan, turning towards Ortho. "My calculations says that there is a fifty percent chance of this ending well!" Ortho exclaimed after some time. "So a fifty-fifty. Wonderful." Sebek huffed before Crowley dismissed all of them.

"So prefect, what are we going to perform?" Ace asked, having made himself comfortable on one of the couches in Ramshackle. "Huh?! Why ask me?" Yuu asked, a little shocked. "Well, you're the only one of us who has any background in performing." Deuce replied. "That's true.. we'll lucky us, I did have something in mind." Yuu replied, motioning at her fellow first years to approach her, taking out her phone, that she thankfully did not lose.

"This is a musical from my world, I think we have just enough people to perform it." Yuu explained, showing them the musical called: "The Daughter of Evil ~Gemini of Charm~"

After making them watch three songs of the show, Yuu happily inquired  their thoughts. "So what did you think?" She asked. "Prefect..." Epel said. "What was that?!" He exclaimed in tears. Now that Yuu looked, all of the first years, except Ortho who did not have the ability to cry were in tears. "What do you mean?" Yuu asked, slightly confused, sure this story was sad, but even Yuu didn't bawl her eyes out as much as the first years were right now, heck even Jack was crying. "What do you mean human?!" Sebek yelled through tears.

"Such a tragic story, the twins being separated then the princess only realized that her loyal servant was her twin when he gave up his life for hers..." Ortho said, with a complicated look on his face, Yuu was pretty sure that if he could cry, he would probably be crying right now. "Ugh, I don't really understand you guys reaction... even I didn't cry when watching this..." Yuu sighed in exasperation. "But get yourselves together, we can't start planning for the performance if you guys are bawling." She said, before going upstairs to grab a notebook so that they could start planning.

After a while, the guys had finally calmed down, and they could finally start planning. "Okay, so we need five person to act on stage, since there are five important characters in this." Yuu explained, writing down each roles. "That leaves one person for all the effects and another one for the instruments.". She added. "Any volunteers?" She asked, but was only met with silence, making her sigh. "No? Then I guess I have to make the call." Yuu said before they got started on distributing the roles.

After weeks of ceaseless repetitions, it was finally time for the performance.

"Kufufu. I wonder what our first years are going to present today." Lilia laughed. "I expect great things from Epel. After all, not only is he representing the first years, he will also be representing Pomefiore." Vil said sternly from besides Lilia, far away from Leona. Though he will never admit it, he actually was looking forward to the performance.

"Hey this means that we'll get to hear Yuu sing again!" Kalim exclaimed happily from where the second years were sited. The headmage had requested that all the teams sit together for some reason. "What do you mean by again?" Riddle asked in confusion, though only him, Jamil and Silver seemed to be confused. Huh you didn't know? The perfec-" Kalim began explaining before the light close off, announcing the beginning of the show.

"Grim walked onto the stage with a wide grin on his face. "Good day students of Night Raven College!" He exclaimed, shocking the people closest to him with the sudden politeness and charisma, it must've taken a lot of time to get Grim to remember his lines...

"Today, we present to you our musical! 'The Story of Evil', starring Epel Felmier from Pomefiore, Yuu the prefect of Ramshackle, Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade from Heartslabyul and Jack Howl from Savanaclaw as the main cast!" Grim exclaimed, as the lights lit up one by one showing each firstbyears as their name was mentioned. "The ghosts from Ramshackle as the background actors, Sebek Zigvolt from Diasomnia for the visual and Ortho Shroud from Ignihyde for the music and props!" He added before they all bowed and the curtains closed once again.

ACT I. The King of Swords.

"In its reversed position, the King of Swords can symbolize oppressive and brutal behavior. You may be prone to harsh judgments, cruelty, or a dictatorial approach. This oppressive energy can create a toxic environment, causing harm to yourself and those around you. The King of Swords reversed calls for a shift in your demeanor, encouraging you to embrace empathy and compassion" Grim voice, suddenly calm, was heard even though he was not seen.

Suddenly, the curtains opened once again, though it was pitch black, Epel's voice resounded loud and clear. "Ohohohoho. Now, shall we begin?" he laughed before music started resounding across the room.

"A story about an oppressive and brutal king huh..." Riddle thought, a complicated look on his face, thinking back to the behavior he had before his overbolt.

"Once upon a time in a land so far away. Was an evil kingdom that no person dared to face." Epel sang as the light lit up, and revealed Epel sitting with a peaceful smile on his face and a purple bird perched onto his finger. "Ruling with an iron fist and standing center stage. Was a noble prince only fourteen years of age."

"Tch. Fourteen is way to young for someone to be ruling a whole country on his own." Leona rumbled. "Oh? Is the second prince of Savanaclaw planning on educating us of how a proper prince should ask?" Vil asked, raising one elegant brown irking Leona.

"There wasn't anything the princes couldn’t have." Epel sang as the decor slowly lit up. "With a girl just like him serving as his right hand man." Then standing beside Epel, Yuu's firgure slowly lit up, showing her wearing a medieval maid outfit. "Stable full of horses and his favorite, Josephine." A painting of a horse soon lit up. "He could buy the world no matter what the price may be." The room was the fully lit up, revealing a table of beautifully decorated cakes, a brioche and roses. Instead of the bird he once that was one perched onto his finger, Epel was holding a cup of tea gracefully with no one but Yuu in the room.

"All that food and only one person to eat..." Ruggie grumbled. "Rich people clearly don't have any idea of the value of food in the slums." He huffed before continuing to watch the show.

---

"If there wasn't money for the tyrant left to spend. He'd take it from his loyal subjects to no end." the scene changed, showing Epel happily requesting money from his subject.

---

"Taking money from his own subjects? How cruel." Lilia commented with a frown on his face. "Those poor people I couldn't imagine what it would be like to live under such a horrible king." He added, Malleus nodding in agreement besides him.

"Anyone opposing him was punished for their crime." Behind Epel, was a man, eerily resembling Ace but older, trying to stop Epel. "All those who defy me are to die!" Epel, turned around angrily ordering the guard to take him away.

"Now, kneel before me, peasants." Epel said cruelly with a smile on his face, while the man was being taken away.

Kalim gasped in a mix of shock in sadness as the man was being taken away. "That's so... cruel!" Kalim exclaimed, though quiet enough as to not disturb others. "Unfortunately, that's what greed does to people." Jamil replied drily with a scowl on his face.

"Blooming ever-sweet, the evil flower reaps. Drowning in colors til it's all you can seem" Epel and Yuu sang in chorus as they danced together while red rose petals dwindled in the magical wind, both of their faces blissfully peaceful and smiling.

"Pitiful as ever, they were growing by his side. Just to pave the road ahead for her, their destiny to die." The light on Epel and Yuu dimmed slightly, making the audience focus on all the thorns surrounding the roses in the background.

"Ah, I see, the roses must represent Epel and the thorns his sins." Vil commented, quite impressed with the metaphor. "How wonderful!" Rook added happily even though the play in itself isn't exactly happy.

"Don't forget this prince was like any other boy. Falling for a prince in blue who lived across the world." The scene changed to Epel looking at Deuce with admiration as Yuu stood besides him.

"But it came to pass he was in love with someone else. A man all in white who ruled a kingdom full of wealth." Epel's admirative faced soon turned into one of envie and jealousy as Deuce was showed happily talking with Jack.

"Jealousy... I feel like Jack's character isn't going to meet a happy ending." Trey commented, while Cater nodded besides him. Cater was fully immersed into the show, not taking out his phone even once.

"Envy enveloping, he started seeing green. Summoning his minister, as not to make a scene'" The scene soon changed into a messy room. The mess probably made by Epel in a fit of rage. Said boy was standing infront of a large window while Yuu was bowing down behind Epel. "Speaking very low, he gave a terrible command."

"Go seek out the kingdom Green, destroy all of their land" Epel ordered with an eerily calm expression, his voice resonating through the silent room adding to the atmosphere.

"Goodness... to think that he would go as far as killing innocent people." Jade gasped. "Eeeeh. Guppy-chan's character is sooo annoying." Floyd added a tad angry, while Azul only nodded at their comments.

"Quickly burning houses right before their very eyes." Suddenly, the scene changed, showing people running away from a huge fire. "No more crying out, they murdered everyone on sight. News of how the innocent were dying in the streets."

"Never swayed the prince in the least." The scene changed to Epel sitting innocently at a table. Yuu soon approached him with a Trey filled with sweets and a cup of tea. "Oh, is it tea time." Epel exclaimed happily as if nothing ever happened.

"To think that people are dying and he's just sitting there enjoying his tea..." Idia muttered, honestly kinda mad.

"Blooming ever-sweet, the evil flower reaps. Drowning in colors that'll drive you crazy" As the chorus hit once again, both Yuu and Epel where dancing, the only difference this time was that Yuu was looking at Epel with a complicated face while the latter has stopped smiling.

"Beautiful as ever and still growing every day." The scene changed, showing Epel with an innocent smile and a bird perched on his hand. "And yet far too many thorns keeping them all too far away." Shadows of aristocrats suddenly appeared, surrounding Epel with a sinister smile on their face facing the public.

"Such... creepy smiles." Crewel commented, honestly a little surprised at how well the play was written. "Honestly, they kind of remind me of my friends from the other side. Just... much more creepy." Sam also added, while the other staff members nodded. "Marvelous! Who knew our first years had so much talents for plays!" Crowley added cheerfully.

The next scene changed, to Ace, sitting at a table with clothes from the man that was executed previously. Ace looked towards the crowd with a serious expression on his face.

"I've never seen Mr. Trappola actually this serious before..." Trein commented. "That's quite the surprise." Vargas mused, both were quite immersed into the story.

"To overthrow the evil prince high above. Taking to the streets at last, they all had had enough." Destruction, fire, weapons were shown. "Leading from the front of such a violent mob, in red was a noble man in armor, coming for his head." A mob of angry people lead by Ace and Deuce were shown.

"Of course Ace would be the one leading the rebellion." Riddle said, unimpressed. "This remind me of the first weeks of school." Trey commented amused. "Ugh... don't remind me! He caused so much trouble in just a few weeks! #notcool." Cater groaned, making the people around them amused.

"Angry from the many years of suffering in vain. Swallowing the kingdom's people in a wild rage." Slowly but surely, the mob were steadily making their ways to the palace. "Soldiers all too tired from a long and violent war." Destroyed armors of fallen soldiers and broken swords were shown. "Didn't have the energy to even hold a sword."

"No energy to even hold a sword... it must've been a tiring war." Silver commented while Lilia nodded at his side.

"For them to lose so much energy in such a short amount of time... they must've been outnumbered easily." Lilia added.

"Finally they made it to the palace at the end. Servants didn't wait around and very quickly fled" The mob made their way inside the castle while all servants rushed to get out. The scene changed to Epel in his room, also trying to flee but getting caught. "Even such a prince so adorable as he, captured by the people he should lead."

"How dare you, barbarians!" Epel yelled furiously while a sword was pointed at his throat.

"Blooming ever-sweet, the evil flower reaps. Drowning in colors growing sad and weeping." This time, as the chorus hit, Epel and Yu weren't dancing together instead, the scene showed Epel getting taken away.

"Living in a paradise created by his mind. Aah, everything will crumble in this fleeting dream of lies" The scene changed, showing Epel's room completely destroyed, chairs on the floor, paper shredded, glass broken...

"Honestly, even if this is all a show, seeing Epel getting taken away is still nerve-wracking." Vil sighed crossing his arms. "What? Gettin' worried for ya lil cub?" Leona said teasingly. "Oh, shut it." Vil glared.

"Once upon a time in a land so far away, was an evil kingdom that no person dared to face." The scene once again showed Epel standing straight, with crown on his face. "Ruling with an iron fist and standing center stage, was a noble princess only fourteen years of age." Suddenly, the crown fell of his head and the background behind him turned dark.

"Knowing his beheading is at three this very eve, listen to the sound because the bell will toll for thee." Epel's prison cell was shown, barren, except for a window letting a little light shine in.

"Once a wealthy prince, now a prisoner to die. What could he be thinking in his jail cell tonight?" Epel was shown, sitting emotionless while tied to a chair.

"Y'know, this makes me wonder to who did all his money?" Ruggie asked mischievously. "Probably to his servant no? I mean she probably had to deal with the most bullshit since he was 'the most loyal one'." Jamil said.

"Well, 'the most loyal one' still left in the end. Guess even she couldn't stand him." Azul laughed mockingly with Jade and Floyd.

"Walking to the gallows, hear the chiming of the end. 'Tis a better place they go than ever known ahead." Epel was once again shown emotionless, accompanied by guards as he was walked up to the guillotine.

"Never laying eyes upon the people in the crowd, whispering aloud their final sound." A crowd of people was gathered in front of the guillotine, as Epel smiled before opening his mouth. "Oh, is it tea time?" He said, before the blade of the guillotine fell.

As the blade fell the whole room turned dark as Kalim gasped loudly in shock. "Thank the sevens they didn't show the full decapitation scene, I think I would've thrown my lunch up." Cater shivered.

"Blooming ever-sweet, the evil flower reaps. Drowning in colors til it's all you can see." The lights turned back on, showing Yuu and Epel dancing together once again, only this time, Yuu looked disturbed while Epel smiled.

"History remembers, singing to this very day. How a daughter of such evil lived in such a wicked way." Flowers petals flowed through the magic wind, as a bird flew across the crowd.

"Magnifique! What a beautiful play!" Rook exclaimed happily in wonder, before the second act was about to start.
