It’s Raining Somewhere Else

Work Text:

The sun slowly set beyond the horizon of the day, clouds beginning to roll in from the west. Dream had just gotten home from a long day, needing a well needed break from work and helping others needs. It wasn't specifically that he didn’t enjoy helping others, but rather it was a copious amount of work for a singular person. Especially when it was hundreds of millions of humans and monsters alike that craved for the touch of positivity Dream could only hope to bless others with.

Sitting down, the Guardian tiredly yawned into his oranges toned yellow clad glove, grabbing an apple off of the table. Rain slowly began pattering steadily against the windows as wind knocked upon the more or less sturdy cabin Dream resided in.

Nightmare would be home soon, to their little cabin of which few knew about. A safe haven for the twins to calm from the anxieties of the day. Days which always took but never gave in return. Days that stole but were never punished for their crime.

But as Dream waited for his twin to arrive, he calmed. He calmed as he listened to the rain's rhythmic patter against the window sill. He allowed his joints to untense and the coolness of the small, old cabin set in.

For some days are not worth dwelling on, rather leaving behind. For hurt must come after love. For after positivity must come after negativity. For the moon must come after the rain, and as for the sun the same.
