Chapter Text
Sunlight ran across through leaves as it enlighten a small purple head, a round surface can be found on top of it, silky if you will to touch the top of it.
Yep, the lavender melons are ripe and not raw guessing from the texture as you feel it from your arms, hugging the melons securely before turning to see another standing lavender... Err... Oh, it's a boy!
"Here! These are the melons that I've found around here", you offer the melons to the boy and he takes one of them reluctantly.
"Are you sure these are for me?", he asks though he still holds the melon.
"Yup! And to the villagers around you! I'm sure there's nothing more delicious than partying while roasting a lavender melons in your village!", you continue to convince the boy.
The young boy makes a thinking expression, considering your idea before he let out a small excited sound, "you should come and eat with us!"
"Ah, no, no, no. They won't accept me to be around the village, let alone get inside", you reject quickly.
"Why?", he asks.
"Because I'm a blue oni", you point to your horns which already explain what you are.
He only tilt his head innocently with pure confusion painted on his face.
"Which, it means the villagers are going to kick me out", you try to explain. "No, they won't kick you, the villager of Tatarasuna are good people!", now it's his turn to try convince you to follow him.
"Yeah even so, people know about blue oni causing mischives around the village"
"But you're a good oni... Right?", he asks though it sounds more like he's convincing you.
"Well- Um... Y-Yeah! But even so I don't think if they will think the same", you look down scared of the thought getting rejected again. "Here, just take these!" You shoved the other lavender melons to his hands, which almost caught him off guard and drop all the melons.
"I'll be back again tomorrow, okay?"
And so, you left him alone under the tree with lavender melons in his arms, still trying to balancing them to not drop a single melon to the ground as he watched you walk away in nervousness.
The longer he watches, the long gone your blue horns showed from his vision. The blue that the boy won't forget.
____________
Blue, the sky shows. Telling the peaceful the day's gonna offer to the people of Sumeru who are living below it. Unlike the dark purple sky the land of the boy's home land used to offer in his youth.
Even if that long "gone" boy's body never seem to change, his mind had been through a lot of changing through his years. Betrayal after betrayal tearing up the once innocent boy inside of him into something cruel and twisted, and it disgust him. Both the innocence and the cruelty he used to possessed in his past life.
Blue, the color that shows peaceful and calmness. Now the purple that he used to have to show his nobleness—that have burdened his used-to-be-twisted mind aswell, have long gone to a calm blue like his mind now in this reincarnation he had.
No longer affiliated to his home land, as a wanderer now, He wanders. Anywhere the wind leads him. Without any strings attached from past, free as the wind.
And so, the wind had lead him to show another way to show him a form of peace. Another form of blue have been appeared on his vision, unrealized that he had been following that blue form for too long to his own usual wandering.
Two blue horns visible above a head of the long dark haired tall figure. Horns that back in the land of the eternity would be associated to the Oni kind. And the blue oni have caught the wanderer's attention, other than how out of place the blue oni seem in the middle of the Sumeru City, their blue horns hold a story that the wanderer never knew would come back to him again.
The blue oni seems to be having trouble around directions. Constantly looking right and left anxiously as if unsure of the directions.
They look pathetic like that, the wanderer thought. But he can't fully blame them fully, it's not like this is a familiar area for them. He even wondered what have made the blue oni to get here in the land of wisdom—which he can tell it's the most opposite of what planted inside their brain.
But it seems like he can't help it, he's been following them for too long isn't he? Might aswell help them to get to a proper direction.
"You seem confused. Does the surrounding seem too unfamiliar for you? Or maybe they seem too familiar instead, because you look like you just circled the same place all over again"
He didn't mean it to be sounds as mean, but he can't help it with how irritated it is to see them keep walking without a thought of when they have no idea where they're going. "Typical", he thought.
The blue oni look down at him, with a startled look in their eyes before shifting into a gladsome one, for they have found someone to approach them kindly—well, atleast he asked a form of some concern, you thought. Atleast it's making it easier for you without having to be the one to approach people first.
"Oh... I guess you can say that", you laugh at your own confession of foolishness.
"Oh! While you're here, can I ask you a for a direction? I've been lost in this city for a whole half hour", you immediately bow half your body to the stranger you just met and talked first after arriving to the city. Being an oni sure makes people around you seem much smaller than you, but this blue hat stranger do seem much shorter than the most man's height you've met, maybe calling this stranger as a hat boy would be fitting for him as your first acquaintance here in Sumeru. Well, he did seem much younger to your guess, maybe a teenager?
"I can see that by the lost look in your face. So go on, tell me about the destination you were about to get to", the wanderer crossed his arms on his chest as if to show unimpressment, even though he's the one who actually offered the help in the first place by walking to you.
"Well, I was meant to deliver this package here to this address", you showed him the adress note that got plastered on the package to show your package's destination.
"I thought that most of these building are almost the same shape that I can't find the one I'm looking for, especially the rooftops are almost identical shaped I got a deja vu everytime I walk a circle in the city"
"You have a whole address, and the one you're looking for is a house rooftop?", the hat boy make a bewieldering remark on your confession, and even putting a disappointment look on his face. Now that makes you felt a bit stupid than you already are now.
"Well, I was just got caught up by the big tree and the rooftop's unique rooftop that I thought if I found a different design, I would found the right house. Because I found out about the package is for an architect"
"I can't believe your boss hired such a courier like you on this job"
"H-Hey! Don't be like that! The most I can do atleast, is doing my job properly"
"And getting lost while still holding an adress doesn't seem properly to me, unprofessional even"
"Hey, Komaniya Express is the most professional delivery express you could ever hire! So it makes me a profesional worker aswell!", you quickly defend yourself to not make another fool of yourself, but it's already a long lost fight for you anyway.
"Though, I just got hired a month ago... Beside the point. This is my first international deliver, so I'm sorry if I got lost in a foreign land, hat boy"
"What", he seem to baffled by the nickname, but he quickly ignore it. Maybe this isn't his first time getting a silly nickname for him. But the way he's making that unimpressed look on his face that just made you want to wipe it off all over again.
He sigh, "You know what, let's just make this quick. I'll lead you the way instead", the hat boy finally offer instead. Maybe despite his mean remark on you before, he still has a generous heart in him, you thought.
"Alright", you stand up straight again and put both your hands on your hips while still holding the package in one of your arm. You look down at him with an enthusiasm as you're happy now you can finish your job now after the whole long walk you have done after you have landed on the nation. "Lead the way, hat boy!"
"Please don't call me that. I don't need another weird nickname on my list", he stated before walking through the street without waiting for you.
Unhesitatingly, you follow right behind him. You're glad that you got off the hook of trouble in your first international job after meeting this boy. What a saviour, despite the grumpy and annoying persona. Nevertheless, still a saviour
