Work Text:
One weekend afternoon, Cheol was absolutely drained. He had just finished his book report on Macbeth , and all he wanted was to snuggle up to his boyfriend, whom he hadn't seen all day. Oh man, he needed a recharge.
Without wasting another second, he threw on his windbreaker, rushed to his window, and called out.
“Hannie-ya!”
Music was blasting from the other room— figures . His boyfriend probably couldn’t hear him.
“Jeonghan-ah!” he tried again, just as a new song started playing.
Hmm? Mariah Carey?
Right as the beat kicked in and Mariah started humming, Hannie appeared, his back to Cheol, hips swaying to the rhythm. His tiny, tiny shorts left little to the imagination, and his silky, long-ish hair swayed as he moved.
Then, as if on cue, Hannie spun around dramatically, pink hairbrush in hand, belting out the lyrics like he was born for the stage.
“Oh, when you walk by every night, talking sweet and looking fine, I get kinda hectic inside~”
He swayed to the music, making sure to gesture toward Cheol, who—like the utterly smitten fool he was—leaned on his windowsill, resting his chin in his hand, completely mesmerized.
“Mmm, baby, I’m so into you. Darling, if you only knew all the things that flow through my mind~”
At the last line, Hannie bit his lip and wiggled his eyebrows.
Cheol giggled, utterly endeared. “I’m so into you, too. If that wasn’t obvious enough, baby.”
“But it's just a sweet, sweet fantasy, baby~” Hannie swayed a little more dramatically, playfully tapping his butt twice.
Cheol let out a louder giggle, covering his face with one hand, his ears burning.
“It’s so deep in my daydreams, but it's just a sweet, sweet fantasy, baby~” Hannie continued, singing into his hairbrush as if performing for a sold-out concert.
Cheol beamed. “It’s not a fantasy, Hannie. I’m your boyfriend already! In fact, I’m asking you out for milkshakes—”
“Hold on. I’m not done yet, Cheollie!”
And so, the second verse played on, then the chorus, then another. Hannie gave it his all, like he was Cheol’s own little pop star. At one point, he even pulled one of his bunny plushies into the act, treating it like an adoring fan as he sang into his imaginary mic.
Of course, he didn’t forget to tease Cheol, throwing in a few extra sways of his hips that were downright sinful. But they both ended up giggling at the sheer silliness of it all.
Cheol sighed dreamily. “This is unusual, Hannie. What’s gotten into you, baby?” Oh, he sounded gone . If this were a cartoon, hearts would be popping out of his eyes by now.
Hannie only grinned wider before singing directly to him, voice softer now.
“I’m in heaven with my boyfriend, my laughing boyfriend. There’s no beginning, and there is no end~”
He took a slow step closer to his window, until he was leaning against his own sill, mirroring Cheol.
And, oh boy, did he look lovely like this—his bangs falling perfectly across his forehead, the oversized Janet Jackson shirt slipping off one shoulder, revealing smooth skin as he tucked his hair behind his ear.
“Feels like I'm dreaming, but I’m not sleeping…” he finished, biting his lower lip to stop his growing smile.
Cheol exhaled, almost in awe. “I could say the same about you, Hannie. Gods, you’re so pretty. Smart and funny, too. You’re the fantasy.”
Hannie scrunched his nose. “Stop~ Be glad I’m not close enough to smack your shoulder.” But the way his eyes sparkled, like they had caught a thousand stars, said he didn’t really want him to stop at all.
Cheol’s voice softened. “Come have milkshake with me?”
“Just milkshake?”
Cheol grinned. “Hmm… you could give me cuddles, too.”
“Just cuddles?” Hannie’s lips curled mischievously. Ah, his boyfriend was a menace.
“Hannie, if you don’t stop that, I’m jumping over this window and kissing you until you tap out.”
“I’d like to see you try, big guy.”
After a beat, Hannie ran his index finger along his windowsill, feigning innocence. “Cheollie… you know, I bought a new lip gloss today…”
“Oh?” Cheol narrowed his eyes playfully. He knew where this was going.
“Mhm. It’s…” Hannie trailed off, locking eyes with him before continuing, “It’s cherry-flavored. Wanna taste?”
Cheol shot up. “Alright, that’s it. No milkshakes—we’re making out!”
Just as he was about to climb out the window, two voices rang out in unison from the first-floor windows of their respective homes.
“Choi Seungcheol, jump out that window and you’re grounded!”
“Jeonghan-ah, finish your homework and stop flirting with your boyfriend!”
The sweethearts froze, their eyes widening, before bursting into laughter so loud it echoed through the neighborhood.
Cheol wiped a tear from his eye. “I’ll just help you with your homework then?”
Hannie giggled. “Okay. I’ll wait for you downstairs?”
“See you in a minute, Hannie.”
“Give me a kiss when I open the door~”
“I said no flirting!” Hannie’s mom yelled again.
That only made them laugh harder.
