So proud of Alban for getting a 3.0 and a solo cover!!

Work Text:

Stupid, he's so fucking stupid. Why did he even agree to that date with Alban anyways? It was an impulsive decision, he had barely put any thought into it. His brain had completely blanked when his beloved underclassmen asked him to go ice-skating with him, TV static noises playing through his head until he just nodded and accepted his invitation. Just when was it that he could ever say no to Alban? It's pretty dang obvious that Sonny is very, very soft for him. There was just no chance that he'd ever be able to muster up the word “no” to his sweet, cute and utterly adorable otouto.

Before he knew it, he was now dressed in a better looking outfit than his normal “whatever-he-grabs-first” outfit whenever he goes anywhere at all. Sonny was waiting at the bus stop for the bus to get to the mall that Alban said the skating rink was located at. Once he had gotten on the bus and his head leaned against the window, it was then that panic started to settle into Sonny’s brain. He doesn't know how to fucking skate.

At the arrival of the location, Sonny pulled out his phone to check where the two had decided to meet. The loud beating of his heart in his ears was all he could hear as he rapidly walked towards the center ground of the mall. His clear purpley-blue eyes scanned the area, and immediately, his eyes caught on to that head of fluffy brown hair. Alban Knox. He hurriedly walked over to the boy, who also seemed like he was looking for somebody. Tapping his shoulder and waving slightly when heterochromatic eyes met his own. “Nii-chan!~ You made it!” The brunette smiled so sweetly at him, just like the golden rays of sunlight that basked down on him on a warm summer day, lunging forward at him and trapping him into a big hug. Sonny hadn't expected that, stumbling backwards and laughing awkwardly.

Alban quickly pulled away, clearing his throat and making an attempt to hide his awkwardness. “Uhm, sorry about that. I just, uh, got too excited” He uttered out, shyness obvious in his tone.“ Ah- It's, It's alright really. I just wasn't expecting. It's okay, Alban.” Sonny gave him a small smile, warming back up to him slowly. He couldn't say that he hated it, because he didn't. Maybe he should get Alban to hug him more.

“Shall we go over to the rink now, Alban?” Though Sonny would've loved to put that idea aside and do something else first, he didn't know what else he wanted to do anyways so why not just head over. “Yes! C'mon, I'll lead the way~” The brunette seemed excited about it, happily dragging him along to the direction of where the ice-skating rink was. Well atleast one of them was looking forward to it.

The ice-skating rink was cold, even from the outer areas unlike the usual warm atmosphere Sonny was used to being in. Alban had gotten a pair of skates for them both and led him to the benches near the side where they could put them on. He was feeling very nervous. How was he going to do this? Would he even survive from the utter embarrassment that he'd feel today? Fuck, just how was he gonna live after this experience?

He took slow steps towards the open door to the inside of the rink, anxiety filling his insides. He watched as Alban stepped in and began skating. He looked so.. natural doing it, there was absolutely no chance that Sonny could even do this without his help.

Alright. Confidence. Surely it couldn't be that difficult—

Ah.

The moment Sonny had stepped on the ice, he wobbled and leaned against the walls of the slippery rink, holding on to it tightly because his life DID depend on it. Alban was skating off not too far from him, so he was glad that the other was having fun skating around and couldn't see his silly mistake.

He tried to move away from the wall, but immediately went back to it from how he almost tumbled over. This was harder than how easy Alban had made it seem to be. Did Alban invite him to this just to see Sonny make a fool of himself? If so, it was working terribly well.

He whined softly, sliding on the ice while still holding tightly onto the wall. His nose was scrunched, desperately trying to get himself to at least be able to stand up without needing support. Sonny pushed away from the wall, immediately regretting his decision as he slid away from the wall and fell right on the ice with a thud. He saw Alban skate over to him while he was.. laughing at him. “Need some help?” Sonny huffed softly, nodded reluctantly as he made a stupid attempt to sit up.

“Here, hold my hand!” Alban reached out to help Sonny up, but all Sonny did was confusedly lay there on the cold ice. “Wh-What?-” His voice came out softer and squeakier than he'd wanted it to, sounding like a dumb prepubescent boy. “Hold my hand! Let me help you, okay?” Ah right. Of course. He would have to hold Alban's hand to stand up. “..Ah. Okay.”

Together. Together, Alban led Sonny through the basics of ice-skating. Alban held his hands tightly and stood in front of him, teaching him how to walk and balance his weight. Sonny was still a little clumsy despite the brunette's help, but he definitely was doing better.

The taller male could walk on his own now, but still held Alban's hand in his. He felt pleased to visit the rink with Alban. It might've been a guilty pleasure, but he was also really enjoying the amount of hand-holding he was able to do with Alban. He was getting the hang of ice-skating already.

“Onii!~ You're doing amazing!” Alban complimented him sweetly, his eyes were so shiny from the spotlights that shone down on them that it made it seem like he had stars in his eyes. Unfortunately though, the compliment sounded so sincere that it made Sonny start stumbling when he was just beginning to actually do well, slipping and pulling Alban down with him.

The two slid and flopped onto their backs, like in those cliche teenage romance films. “Fuck!- Ah.. I'm sorry. This is embarrassing.” Sonny uttered out as he sat himself up. Alban let out a soft giggle as he sat up next to the blonde haired, squeezing his hand softly. “It's alright! That was kinda funny, and I’m used to it anyway.” Right. If Alban was that good at skating, then he must've fallen down more than Sonny did today, right?

Sonny stood up, slipping a little but he still managed to. He watched as Alban stood up as well, and continued to skate like nothing had happened.

They skated around for 30 minutes, Sonny watching in awe whenever Alban did a twirl or jump. His heart thrummed a little as he always managed to surprise him with the simplest of tricks. It was nice, he quite liked being with Alban.

All good things eventually have to come to an end however, Sonny didn't want to leave, but it was getting late. They drank some tea together before separating, courtesy of Sonny since he was so reluctant on leaving their date on just that. After a few minutes from getting on the bus back to the dorm, he got a notification on his phone. Instantly, he pulled out his phone and checked it, a small smile appearing while he typed quickly.

Albie 🧡

Hey Sonny! Thanks for the great time today. I loved hanging out with you ^__^ We should go out together again sometime soon!

Okay. That sounds good.

I had fun with you too, Alban.

Maybe today didn't go that bad after all. If Alban wanted to go out with him again, then surely he wouldn't think about saying no this time either.
