Chapter Text
Computer. Office. Joja. I'm so sick of it. It's like every day is the same. Up at 6:00 in the morning. 7:30 to be at work. Make it to my 30-minute break, eat what I can buy on the way. Make it through the evening. Oh, you've missed work again and you have to go, Cindy? Oh, I'm already gone. And you left your job to me. How disgusting... 8:20... Finally, home. I wonder if last night's dinner was left over? Oh well...
It's been like this for a year. Initially, it certainly didn't feel this way, or rather, it didn't feel this way..... I've been working at Jojo Corporation for a year and a half. Initially, I was very happy, trying to fit in, helping my colleagues.... Eventually I became comfortable to leave me my job with the phrase: "Man, my boyfriend called me for a date! Oh, well you don't need to go anywhere anyway...", and ran away..... Huh. Funny how it came to this.... Now work only brought pain and emptiness.... I couldn't pursue my hobby... I'd forgotten what it was... I dreamed of having a cat, but I could hardly feed myself ... I was chronically sleep deprived. I didn't come home on weekdays and I didn't go out on weekends. My parents were worried about what was happening to me. They're worried. I'm ashamed of it. They have their own worries, and I'm an adult now....
I hated my life...

One day when I didn't feel like working at all.... But I had to... Memories of my grandfather's farm, where I was when I was 5 years old, came to mind.... It's been 16 years since then... The farm was peaceful, warm, bright.... Peaceful....
A letter...
A letter.
A letter!
It was like thunder in my mind. If I made it to the end of the day, I ran straight home at 6:00. Another date, Cindy? I have my own things to do.
As soon as the threshold of the house was crossed, I ran to find the letter without even bothering to change my clothes. In the files, I could find a letter from 15 years ago... when Grandpa got sick. He handed it to me.
I opened it.
A note and the papers for the farm.
I read it over and over about 10 times... Too bad it didn't have a plan for me to follow to claim the farm for myself....
From now on, I will change my life.....

I quit Joja... It was like a fresh breath. Even though it was hard to do, and even harder to decide..... First, I worked for a month and then I MUST have a party.... Costly...
My mum insisted I see a psychiatrist..... What can I do? Two months with a psychiatrist... Huh, and it turns out I have different preferences and hobbies.....
During those two months I went to a notary and confirmed that I am my grandfather's granddaughter and yes, I really am his granddaughter, yes, that's my name, no, I'm not a fake, etc...
In the third month, I packed up my things.... And there are a lot of them... Dad was able to provide me with a car so I could load up my stuff at one time and move.... Oh, well. Something new and scary...

4 hours... 4 hours of travelling... I should have wondered what the distance to Pelican City was....
At least my dad and I were joking around during the drive.
We were met by a very... Masculine woman, she introduced herself as Robin. She looked to be about 30-35 years old. She took us down the path to the farm.....
Well, Nakota, here's your new life.
