As dangerous as it was and he knew it, he still ran, ran and ran. He didn't care where he'll end up at. He just wanted to get away as far as he could.
You're maybe wondering who's running or why is he running?
Well. It's Choi San that is runnning and that is because he just escaped from humans' hold.
I'll show you how it happened...
30 minutes earlier
In the corner of the small cold cement room with steel bars, uncomfortable steel bed and toilet sat a skinny boy. Well not a boy. A Siren. A Siren named San sat there, like everyday for the past 5 almost 6 years. He sat there emotionless.
Why is he there? You may be wondering. Well, he was just a small reckless Siren back then.
He was 14 that day and he was just casually swimming around the shore of the human island, not really far away from their island. And why? He needed to try his beautiful alluring voice for the first time on someone.
Now he knows that he should've said someone where's he going or he should've said someone to come with him...
He didn't know what would happen, he couldn't see the future, not like Seers could.
That day he was trying to lure a little girl closer to the shore. Not to drown her or anything. He just wanted to try... And he didn't see a big fish net behind him, going right for him.
It was and still is known that humans try to catch and kill or at least torture Sirens the best they could. But he didn't know that they would do that so close to their shore. And it took away his freedom for what felt like an eternity.
He was waiting in the corner of the cell, like everyday, only for his breakfast, which consisted of only one small fish and a few pieces of seaweed. Not much, but it fed him and it made sure that he doesn't die here. Even though he was really close to it, shown by how skinny he was and how hurt he was.
It was quick and he literally didn't plan anything. Once the human guard of the prison got down to his cell, this time suprisingly without any weapons, to give him his breakfast, he acted!
He just basically grabbed the guard by his shirt and smashed his head against bars of his cell and that knocked him out, literally. That was his chance!
He grabbed his key, unlocked his own cell and quickly ran. It was pretty early in the morning, so he was lucky that everyone was still asleep. And he escaped through a broken wooden part of the tall fence all around the prison, which he broke before, in his previous attempt to escape.
And now here he is. Trying his best to get away, as far as he could so the guards won't catch him.
He's running for 10 minutes straight now, his breath heavy, lungs on fire and throat sore. His legs already weak even shaky and slowly becoming heavier and heavier.
He didn't even realize that he somehow got to Light Elves territory. And after another 2 minutes of running he felt too heavy. His feet felt too heavy, shaky and weak and he couldn't breathe. His throat felt like it was closing itself.
He ended up on a little small field with big stones around and light shadows from the trees all over the place.
And that's also the place where he ended up falling, his body landing harshly on the grass, his head hitting the dirt.
And falling unconscious... Hurt and exhausted...
Wooyoung
Woooyung. A Light Elf. Normal life, kinda boring, but normal. Wake up, clean up, eat breakfast, go hunting or training, see a poster of a missing Siren boy, cook lunch, eat, relax, talk to others, start to make dinner, eat dinner, shower and clean up, go to sleep. That was his normal routine.
It was around 10 am when he went hunting. He just took his bow and arrows before he announced to his best friend that he's going to hunt some animal, just so they can have lunch. And with a signal his best friend Yeosang heard him, he walked away deep into the forest.
He couldn't shoot any animal today. First, he missed to shoot a rabbit, second, he missed to shoot another rabbit. So he moved to bigger animal. He missed to shoot a doe, then second, then he missed a deer and another.
He was so unlucky today. Like a lot.
That was until he saw a small small field in the middle of the forest, with stones all around it and light shadows all over the place thanks to all the trees around it.
He didn't see anything at first. That was until he came closer and saw another doe. And if he wants to have some meat for lunch, then he needs to shoot something.
So he prepared, took a deep breath and!... Got it. He shot it. Straight to the head. At least it didn't suffer.
He went to get it and once he entered the field he saw a body. Pale skinny body. It was still breathing, you could see that.
Of course he had to went to it. He turned it on his back. Only to find out that it was a boy. A SIREN BOY.
Black hair on top of his head, blonde on the bottom under his ears, his hair a bit longer and wavy, hanging a bit over his eyes. He is the one that went missing 5 almost 6 years ago. He is the one that was claimed as dead. He was the one that hanged on a poster of a missing person everyday for past 5 years. HE IS THE CHOI SAN!
