Chapter 1: Prologue: The Awakening of the Unknown
Chapter Text
He was falling.
His body fell towards the void into which he let himself fall as a sign of surrender and freedom.
He didn't care about anything anymore. I just wanted to end the suffering I had been enduring for a decade. Everything was coming to an end, he could feel closer to the concrete, he could hear the screams of some of his classmates and his former teachers, he could also hear the panicked voice of the one who had initially given him the idea of doing that An act that for many would be cowardly but for someone like him it would be liberating.
Oh my dear... magnificent... and noble flower of evil
He closed his eyes to see the clear sky one last time before surrendering to the darkness.
You are the most beautiful of all
Her hair fluttered in the wind that divided the ground from her body.
Mirror, Mirror… please tell me who it will be…
He let out a smile before colliding with the pavement causing a sickening thud to form that was overshadowed by the panicked screams like the cries of those people who made his life hell.
Those who are accepted by the mirror of shadows
People were so hypocritical, despite his last moments of life he could hear their regrets, mockery and even empty cries surrounding him, there were also those laments that will be of no use.
He was bleeding to death on the floor.
In his last moments he thought about all the problems he had to face thanks to his peculiar state, he was not allowed many rights as well as school and work opportunities were limited.
Just listening to his mother cry every night about the problems she has caused his heart would shrink. The woman who gave birth to him loved him, there was no doubt about that, but it was not difficult to discover that the estrangement he had with his father was due to him, the man had left as soon as he found out that he had no quirks, putting it like excuse the trips abroad were for work.
Then the bullying and denigration with which people treated him had not helped his decision to jump from that roof at all.
Entre opened his eyes to meet Bakugo's crimson gaze. I hadn't seen the tears and despair on his face since they were children and had encountered a villain who had decided to hide in the preschool they attended.
He continued smiling as he bled to death, the sound of sirens beginning to be heard in the distance and Katsuki's muffled voice tried to keep him awake, but his eyelids didn't seem to give in to the demands.
"Hey! Don't fall asleep," the blonde shouted, desperate, he kept shaking him and shouting things he regretted. He did not expect Izuku to actually follow his advice to jump off the roof, he knew that the minor was stubborn and faithful to his beliefs and dreams, so it was difficult for him to understand why the green-haired boy easily gave in to his words. “Hey, Deku! Izuku! Zuzu!”
As long as your heart desires
The darkness surrounded him, the cold he felt was undoubtedly a thousand times worse than the cold winter and his body did not stop seeking the warmth of the non-existent sun. He huddled on the dark floor seeking protection. He could remember his last moments of life, the ambulance and police patrols were parked on the outskirts of Aldera and many of the students made way for the specialists who helped their classmate. It was difficult to separate the explosive boy, who was clinging to the victim trying to wake him up.
Something that never happened, nor will happen.
Izuku let out a sigh when he felt something soft beneath him, he looked at the dark carpet with white patterns that stretched across the center of a room that wasn't there before. He stood up and looked around; The furniture looked old, the table in the center of the room was covered in dust, and the walls were a depressing gray. The only thing that stood out was the large mirror that was hanging on one of the walls to his left, it was oval, with golden details and did not seem to match the age of the things, but even so it did not seem like a common and ordinary object.
He knew it well when a familiar silhouette appeared on him.
Take the hand that appears in the mirror
Without knowing why, his body moved on its own, as if he had many strings holding him and moving him as if he were a puppet, and he took his hand in the mirror without being surprised by the fact that it went through the glass.
… For me…
… For them…
… For you…
His eyelids closed again, letting himself be carried away in the darkness again.
no time to lose
The sound of horseshoes hitting the ground reached his ears although he did not wake up.
No matter what
Do not let go my hand-
Prologue: The Awakening of the Unknown
He shifted uncomfortably on the cushion he was lying on. The sounds were very far away from him but he could identify the sound of keys and doors opening, the light murmurs along with small laughter, something that for a moment made him think that he was sleeping in his room and his mother was just returning from home. job.
Silence continued to be his companion for a long time, to the point that he felt like hours had passed since he closed his eyes. The tranquility of death was something he had never experienced, which is why he found such an experience interesting. He moved again trying to get comfortable but his elbow ended up hitting something... hard.
He opened his eyes when his hands touched the padded wood. It was dark and a small place, although he fit perfectly in it as if it had been made to measure for him.
Midoriya paled in realization.
I was in a coffin!
His breathing quickened, he really was dead. Possibly the noises he had heard previously were from the morgue or his funeral and now he was in his grave. His ramblings stopped when he heard a loud thud followed by bangs.
“What is that noise?…” he murmured, somewhat scared.
“Damn, people will be here soon…” he heard on the other side of the wood. “I have to grab his uniform soon while I still have time,” the lid of his coffin moved a little but it seemed like it wasn't enough to open it. I could hear the efforts of whoever was trying to disrupt his grave, it seemed like they were making a great effort. “This cover… It's too heavy. If so… It's time for my secret trick… FFFUGYAAAA… Take that!…”
“Fire?!”, the freckled man asked in panic when he saw how the wood in front of him was burning. That scared the young man enough, causing him to sink deeply out of his coffin and then his eyes adapted to the sudden light.
“Okay, okay, I'll take your-... TUKYAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!” In front of him was a very strange creature, it had many similarities to a cat. Its fur was gray with a white patch on its chest, its pads were a pinkish color, and it also had blue flames glowing in its ears. His eyes were large and the same bright blue color and around his neck he wore a tie that looked more like a black and white striped bow that was torn at the bottom. “WHY DID YOU ALREADY WAKE UP?!'' asked the creature.
“A talking raccoon?!”
"Who are you calling a raccoon?!" the cat reprimanded, the truth is that Izuku no longer knew what that thing was. “I am… The great and supreme Grimm! Whatever… Your human… Hurry up and give me your clothes. Otherwise…”, the raccoon set fire to the coffin where he was, causing the freckled man to come out of it in terror. “…I will burn you alive!…”
“I didn't die just to be burned by a floating raccoon!”
“I told you I'm not a fucking raccoon!” The creature continued to reproach him.
But Izuku did not stop to listen to what followed, he preferred a thousand times to be lost in hell than to be burned alive. He ran out of the large doors and through hallways, seeing classrooms and crossing a patio until he reached what seemed to be a library. "Where am I?!"
The blue fire ended up cornering the young man, causing him to stop. “Did you really think you could escape from me? “Human!” the cat mocked. "Now...If you don't want me to burn you while you're alive, quickly give me those clothes-...", the sound of breaking air ended up interrupting Grimm's last sentence, causing him to scream in surprise when a rope caught him. "Did it hurt! What is this rope?”
“It's not a rope… It's the whip of love!” A strange-looking man appeared at the entrance to the library, frowning at the tied animal, only to then turn to look at the green-haired man a little more calmly. “Ah, I finally found you. You... Are you one of the new students? You should not do that. Exit the portal early. Also… You brought an undomesticated pet that disobeyed many rules” he crossed his arms scolding the freckled man.
“Let go of me!” he shifted on the whip. “I’m not related to this guy!”
“Yes, yes… Untrained pets always say that. Shut up for a moment, okay?” He placed one of his hands on Grimm's mouth causing slight pressure that prevented him from speaking. "My God! This is the first time a new student has left the portal alone!” He let out a defeated sigh. “Haa… How impatient can you be? Come on, come on, the opening ceremony has already begun. Let's go to the mirror room."
Izuku looked at him strangely, the world of the dead was very strange. "New student?"
“In the room where you woke up, there are all the doors,” the older man began to explain when he realized how disoriented the teenager was. “All students hoping to come to this school must use one of those doors. Normally, students don't wake up until the door is opened with the special key, but…”
“The fire must have caused the lid to explode,” the freckled man murmured when he realized that the cause of everything had been Grimm who had burned the lid of his coffin, but even if he knew about this, something inside told him that the one who had waking up had not been a coincidence.
"In the end. “The culprit looks so familiar,” he said, referring to the raccoon. “If you take it with you. Take responsibility and take care of it properly. “Oh, this is not the time to be so talkative,” he murmured as he saw the time on one of the clocks. “The opening ceremony will end soon. Come on, let's hurry."
“W-Wait… W-Where am I exactly?” the green-haired man asked, following the man.
“Oh? Could it be that you are still lost? It seems that the transportation left you confused. Well, it doesn't matter, it happens often,” he brushed it off, though that only caused Midoriya to panic. “So… I'll explain everything to you on the way… Since I'm very kind,” he said, smiling in a way that didn't encourage Izuku.
The two began their journey, being calmer. The green-haired boy was able to observe the infrastructure, from the library to the patio that, despite the darkness of the night, he could witness the small well that was in the middle of it and not far away a large Apple tree. He looked at the lights coming out of the windows of one of the buildings in front of him, his steps were taking him there so he assumed it was where the ceremony that the subject was talking so much about was taking place.
“Ahem… You are in Night Raven Collage. Wizards from all over the world who have special magical abilities gather here. It is the most prestigious academy in Twisted Wonderland”, Magic? the youngest asked himself. “And I am the director. “I was appointed to run this academy by the president of the board of directors: Dire Crowley.”
“¿Magos?...”
“Only wizards recognized by the shadow mirror can attend this school. Those selected from all over the world use the portal and appear here” the adult continued explaining. “A dark horseman carrying a portal should be there to pick you up.”
Izuku's mind clicked as he realized what she meant. “I think I saw a dark horse with a scary face.”
“That dark rider meets the chosen ones by the mirror of shadows. There are special riders who carry doors that lead here. "It was decided long ago that horsemen used it to transport people on special days."
"Did he say that... this rider only brought me here?" Grimm kept grumbling with the whip surrounding his body, now the director was no longer holding him, but the same whip had him gagged.
“Now, let's go to the opening ceremony,” Crowley turned around and continued on his way to the room where the happy ceremony was currently taking place. Izuku followed him closely, he was nervous, he didn't understand what was happening. I was in a school, there was no doubt about it, the classrooms, the library and even the hallways screamed that this was it, but the situation didn't seem real at all.
Wizards? Magic? Twisted Wonderland? He did not know any of those terms, especially the last one that he doubted that that name really existed on any map. He was increasingly certain that his corpse had been kidnapped by some fantasy sect that loved medieval tales.
On the other hand, not far from Midoriya's location, a sea of people was inside a room very similar to the one the boy in question had woken up in, the "doors" floating around the room like a mirror. that was in the middle of everything.
“Now… Is that all for the new dorm duties?” asked a red-haired boy who was in front of a specific group of students. “Listen to me new students. Here at Heartsbyul I am the rules. In other words. If they break them they will lose their heads''
“The opening ceremony is finally over. Let's go back to the Savanaclaw dormitory soon, follow me,” next was a taller man who had animal ears.
“To the new students. Congratulations on entering this academy,” a boy with glasses said with a smile. “Enjoy your stay here to the fullest. As leader of the Octavinille dormitory, I will support you as much as I can.”
Quickly, a tall, handsome-looking boy interrupted his companion as soon as he finished speaking. “By the way, where did the director go? “It flew right in the middle of the ceremony.”
“He abandoned his position,” a tired voice was heard from the other side of the tablet that was floating in front of another group of students.
“Did you have a stomach ache or something?” asked a boy with dark skin and red eyes.
The door flew open revealing the director with the two troublemakers he had gone to look for. "They are wrong!"
“Oh, it arrived.”
“Seriously, we were missing a new student so I went to look for him,” he said, looking at the freckled man, causing the others to look at him carefully. The teenager shrank in place when he felt everyone's heavy gazes. For a moment he thought he was again in Aldera. “Now, you're the only one who hasn't been assigned a dorm yet. I'll watch the raccoon for you. “Hurry up and go to the front of the Mirror of Shadows.”
And so he did, he wanted to get as far away as he could from all those people, who because of their clothes could claim to be a sect. He moved close enough to the mirror to see his reflection. He raised his head slightly when he saw the green flames peeking through the glass. His eyes were reflected among the green tide, he could notice in his reflection how misaligned he was, from his uniform to his hair were unkempt due to all the sudden movement that Grimm made him go through, his face was a little dirty and he lowered his feet. There were large circles under his eyes that made him look like a dead man.
Something that already was.
“Tell me your name…” he came out of his thoughts when that mask appeared asking.
“Izuku Midoriya,” the youngest murmured.
“Izuku, your soul form is…” he trailed off as the mask narrowed its eyes as if searching for something, holding its breath as it returned to its initial neutral face. " … Don't know…"
"What did you say?" The director also seemed very confused about it.
“I don't feel… Not even a hint of magic in this creature… The color… the shape… everything… there is nothing…” the mirror began to say. “...Therefore…You are not suitable for any bedroom.”
Whispers filled the room in a matter of seconds. Izuku had gasped and a few tears had gathered in his eyes. He cursed inwardly when he realized that in that place he was the same as Aldera, he could feel the undisguised stares of the people, how they pointed at him and mocked him as if he were worthless. He shrank in place, biting his lip. it was always the same.
A useless one.
A Quirkless.
Un Deku.
“A dark carriage would never go to pick up someone who can't use magic. It's impossible!” said the director excitedly. “For more than a hundred years there were never errors in the selection of students. So how is it possible?”
The adult continued rambling to himself that he didn't notice when Grimm, the raccoon broke free of the whip holding him. “So… in exchange…! I will take your place!”
“AH!... WAIT! …Your raccoon!…” Crowley shouted.
“Unlike this foolish human, I can use magic, you know!” Grimm mentioned with an arrogant smile. “So in exchange… I can enter school! If you want proof… I'll show it to you right now, you know!”
"All! "Back off!" the redhead shouted as Grimm set half the room on fire.
“Wahh?!! Burn! Burn! "Burn!" the one with red eyes began to shout as he began to run around the room. “My butt is in llamas!”
“At this rate, the school will be a sea of fire!” The principal also did not seem to be happy with the cat's performance. “Someone, please catch that raccoon!”
“Tche!... ordering so suddenly”, the one with lion ears did not seem very willing to help.
"Hey? Aren't you good at hunting?” the handsome-looking boy sneered. “Isn't that a nice, plump snack?”
"Because I? You do it"
“Principal Crowley, leave it to me,” the boy with glasses smiled brightly. benevolent. “I'm sure the others can't bear to harass a poor creature. So I'll take care of it."
“As expected of Azul, he always tries to beat everyone,” said the one on the other side of the tablet, he did not seem very surprised by his partner's attitude.
"Hey, could someone turn off my butt now?" on the floor.
“T-Try to roll over the area, that should help put out the f-fire!”, the boy a few years older than him heeded what was recommended and little by little the hot flame was extinguished.
“Everyone, did anyone hear what I said?” demanded the director.
“If it's just catching a stupid raccoon you should do it yourself, director.”
“How many times do I have to say I'm not a raccoon?! I am the great Grimm! That he will become the best magician in history, you know!”
“He certainly has character,” Blue said, looking seriously at the raccoon. “Riddle, will you help me please?”
“I can't ignore those who break the rules,” the redhead simply said. “Let's hurry up and get this over with.”
The two approached the Grim as if they were capture experts. Izuku could admire the skills of the two teenagers who were trying with all their might to capture the rule-breaker, as Riddle had called him. Midoriya took refuge with the boy with white hair and dark skin behind one of the pillars, neither of them understanding the somewhat creepy situation that was taking place.
How did a welcoming ceremony end up being interrupted by a flamethrower cat?
Many of the students had grouped together to defend themselves and hide in whatever place they found, they did not want to be burned so late at night.
For them it would be a pathetic death.
The freckled man mocked his own thinking. His death had been very pathetic.
“...Off with your head!” Riddle shouted, causing a strange necklace to be placed on Grimm's neck, taking him by surprise.
"...What is this?----"
“Laws of the Queen of Hearts: Number 23,” he began to recite. “ One will never bring a cat to a ceremony . Since you are a cat, you have broken the rule. “I will make you leave immediately.”
“I'm not a cat! I will burn this necklace and free myself from-…” he tried to summon his fire again but for a strange reason it didn't come out. “...Huh?...I can't use my fire!”
“You will not use any magic until I remove the necklace. "Now you're like an ordinary cat," the teenager mocked.
"That?! “I’m not a pet, you know!”
“Don't worry, I would never have a pet like you,” the disgust on his face was quite evident even though the hood covered half of his face. “Well, I'll take it from you anyway when they kick you out of here.”
“Wow, as wonderful as always. Any and all magic is sealed with your unique magic, Riddle. I definitely want it,” despite her sweet words Izuku could see the greed in her eyes. “I mean… I would never want that thing for myself.”
Although his face said otherwise...
“Please do something about it! "He's yours, isn't he?!", the director addresses him as if he were responsible for the whole disaster. “Discipline him properly-”
“H-He's not mine!” the youngest responded between stutters.
“...Huh? It is not yours?"
“I tried to say it but it won't let me do it.”
“Did you?” I clear my throat to divert the topic. “We're going to get him out of school anyway,” he grabbed Grim by the collar and lifted him up. “We won't turn you into stew because I'm very kind. Someone help please”
"Let me go!" Grim stirred sharply, trying to break free of the hold. “I…definitely…. I will definitely become the best magician!”
And with that they took him out of the room. The green-haired man looked at where the animal had gone, feeling a little identified with that last statement, he wanted to be a hero but his peculiar situation did not allow it. She felt bad for him.
“Well we had some problems along the way but this closes the entrance ceremony. Dorm leaders, please take the new students back to the dorms,” he looked at the teenagers in charge and then realized that one was missing. “Hm? Now that I think about it. “I don’t see Diasomnia’s leader, young Draconia, at all.”
“He's no different than usual, right?” the cat-eared one was the first to respond.
"That? “Didn’t anyone tell you about the ceremony?”
“If you're going to complain, you should have told him yourself,” the beautiful-looking one reprimanded the albino, who looked a little guilty.
“Hmmm… but I really don't know anything about that guy.”
The murmurs arose again after the last name was revealed, some seemed scared and others incredulous at the information they had been given, some began to wonder if it was really the person they thought. Izuku couldn't help but notice how someone in the crowd was heading to the front.
“Uhh… as I thought…” he said looking around. “I thought he might come but Malleus didn't really come. It seems that your invitation never arrived again"
"My deepest apologies. “I swear, we didn’t mean to exclude him,” Azul said, though his words sounded as fake as his smile.
"Does not matter how. His aura makes it difficult to approach him.”
“Well, okay, the members of the Diasomnia dormitory can come with me…” he drew the attention of a group of students. “I hope this doesn't bother you…”
“Now… I'm really sorry about this, but… you have to leave school as soon as possible. Those without talent for magic cannot attend classes here,” Izuku looked away, he should have known, he was not and would not be accepted anywhere, his peculiar status could be equivalent to that of that place. He was definitely not at home, that became very clear to him when the director again made the young man stand in front of the mirror so that he could take him home only to receive the surprise that the place where he came from did not exist and he was seconded. when the two went to the library to investigate since it seemed the mirror was failing.
“There is nothing here,” Midoriya said when he looked at the world map, it was not at all similar to that of his world, yes world, it seemed that he was in another universe, dimension or planet different from his own. The only difference was that in their world Quirks existed and in Twisted Wonderland magic existed. When he told him about what his world was like, the adult was surprised and ended up looking at him with a look that he knew very well... pity.
I hated that look.
His entire life was based on that look that disgusted him to the core.
It made him angry.
He was tired of them all the time feeling sorry for him as if he didn't know about his condition, but he was the most aware of what others believed.
“This is a problem,” he said when he realized that the teenager had nothing more with him than the ceremonial robe. “I can't let someone who can't use magic stay at school. As an educator, I cannot throw a teenager out on the street without money and without any form of communication. Because I'm very kind” the man seemed to be thinking about something until his eyes shone as an idea came to his mind. “I know…There is an unused building on campus. It was once used as a bedroom in the past. So if you clean it you should at least be able to sleep there. For now I will allow you to stay there while I look for a way for you to return home.”
I wasn't sure about the latter but it was better than being in a world full of cults.
If someone had told him that that night would be the start of his problems, he might have jumped off the roof again.

Chapter Text
Prologue: The Ramshackle Dorm
When they told him that the bedroom was abandoned, he didn't think they meant it literally.
The building in front of him was almost falling down from how old and neglected it was, the graves in the courtyard alone left a lot to be desired about death, for a moment he thought that Crowley was playing a bad joke on him.
“This is… too charming,” he didn't know what to say since the man seemed very proud of the infrastructure. The two entered the bedroom to realize that the outside was prettier than the inside. From spider webs to insects and rodents. That place looked like a hive full of bugs and diseases.
“For the time being, staying here will at least keep you safe from the rain. I'll be back to investigate more so make yourself at home,” he started to walk out the door but not before giving her a smile and telling her. “Don't be wandering around the school!”
Izuku couldn't believe he would do such a thing. That place was a death trap! There was no way a place like that existed in a school that looked more like a castle than anything else, he had seen the entire place completely taken care of only for this “dorm” to be about to fall down. He almost screamed as he saw a rat run over his foot and the wood of the floor almost broke. He sighed as he removed one of the sheets that covered one of the armchairs, everything in that place had to be changed, the armchairs were moldy. “I have to clean to at least sit down.”
Just as Crowley said, the rain came unexpectedly. It seemed that the sky was crying for his misfortune and he knew it well when some drops began to fall on his head, the roof was leaking.
“Great, no, the building loves me,” he dropped to the ground, letting the raindrops get him a little wet. I was tired and trying to process everything that was happening. The first thing was that he had died, he committed suicide, there was no doubt about that; Later he was in a coffin and is taken out by a talking raccoon and flamethrower, he is chased by it to what appears to be a library and meets the guy who dresses like a character from the Black Death and discovers that he is in a school of magic, they arrive at an entrance ceremony where they make him speak to a talking mirror which saw his soul and told him that he was as empty as a shell, the latter does not surprise him, he already imagined that this would be the result due to his condition, Grimm tries to cook him alive and the headmaster almost throws him out only to later discover that Japan does not exist and they end up going to the library to look at the maps and discover that he is not from there but from another world or another planet, something not encouraging. “It's like life is going mocking from my."
He was silent for a few moments until he heard a screech. “GIIIIGHHH! “The rain is really very strong!” he heard behind him. Izuku turned around in surprise only to see Grim who seemed to be very amused by his reaction. “Gyaahahahaha! You have that stupid look on your face like a spider attacked by water, you know.”
"What are you doing here?! How did you go inside?! Hadn't they kicked you out?!”, His questions only seemed to raise the ego of the creature who only limited himself to smiling and looking superior.
“I won't have any problems sneaking back to school. If you think that being expelled will make me give up on entering school, you are wrong, you know.”
“Why do you want to enter this school?” I asked when I saw how desperate the animal was to be integrated.
“That's a very simple answer, you know. “I am a great genius who is destined to be a great magician of all!” His gaze became dreamy. “Always, always… I have been waiting for the dark carriage to come pick me up,” then his face had been clouded by the tears contained in his eyes. "...But... but...", his gaze was dull and many emotions were identified by Midoriya. “The shadow mirror doesn't have a good eye for that, you know. That's why I came here alone on my own. Not letting me in would be a loss to the world,” The freckled man highly doubted that that last bit was true. “I just don't understand humans, you know, Hyaaa!... How cold! The roof is leaking, you know!”, the human sighed, it was already taking him a long time to realize that he was right under a leak. “Fgyaaa! Keep dripping more water, my adorable ears will go off at this rate!”
Where is it leaking?” Her question was stupid, but it was enough for the cat to divert the topic from her wet fur.
“With some magic you should fix it, you know.”
Izuku was silent for a moment, hesitating, but he answered anyway. “I can’t… use magic.”
“Oh! Can't you use magic?”, the animal began to mock in a sly and not pleasant way. "You can not! You suck!"
Useless.
If that was what it was.
A useless Deku without value or power.
Izuku Midoriya was very used to that term and had no doubt that every time someone looked up the word Useless His framed photo would appear in the dictionary.
He squeezed his hands
“Then help me!” the teenager reproaches him.
"Hey? Help you?”, the creature questioned confused. "No way. I'm just a normal monster seeking shelter from the rain. You better prepare a can of tuna before doing any work.”
Another drop fell on the green-haired man's head. “I have to find a bucket.”
And so he did, the young man began his search through the bedroom. He went up the stairs and entered the hallway, the windows were covered with wood and the cobwebs spread almost all over the ceiling, many paintings were on the floor and the doors were very worn and old as if they had not been occupied in a long time. time. “Hmmm… I don't like this environment,” he muttered looking at the corridor, he walked down the long hallway avoiding the broken things, he would have to clean the place. A dull noise made him stop, he turned behind him and was surprised to see what was on the other side of the hallway.
There were three subjects, they were all white and their silhouettes were transparent and their sizes varied. They dressed in capes and dark-colored top hats. They were laughing as if they were amused by the situation.
“We haven't had a guest in a long time,” one said with a laugh.
“I'm so eager for action,” the chubby ghost's chilling tone made him shudder.
“F-Ghosts!”, he almost screamed in fright, but he didn't, knowing what death was like, plus his theory that he was in the world of the dead was still present in his head.
"Why did you suddenly go crazy?" Grimm asked, scaring the young man even more. He had appeared behind him, he looked over the freckled man only to find the three supernatural beings. “AHHHHHHHHH! Fa-........Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Ghosts?!”
“The people who lived here were so scared of us that they ran away,” said the smaller ghost.
“We're always looking for more ghost friends. What about you guys?” continued the chubby ghost.
“They're going to kill us!” Although he wasn't entirely surprised, he was already dead to begin with, making friends with ghosts wouldn't be a problem. But even so he didn't understand their reasoning, he was already dead, they couldn't kill him again, could they?
Grimm seemed to have a panic attack at the three individuals. “I, Great Grim, the great wizard who is not afraid of ghosts!” And with a great roar He spat fire.
“Where are you aiming?” asked a ghost, the tallest and thinnest of all, moving from place to place before the flames reached him.
"Here! “This way!”, mocked another.
"Curse! "Stop appearing and disappearing!" Grim cursed them when he saw that their attacks did not reach them and with that he set the fire again.
Izuku looked at him in disbelief, it was pretty obvious that he wouldn't even give them a second thought. They were ghosts! They could be crossed and nothing would happen to them. That's when she wondered if he was really dead, since he hadn't gone through things nor looked anything like the other three. He looked at the animal only to realize that every time it shot fire it closed its eyes. “Are you shooting with your eyes closed?!”
Yes, I was definitely going to die a second time.
"Be quiet! "Don't try to order me around, you know!" the bull shouted angrily.
The boy dodged one of the raccoon's attacks, which was very crazy, launching attacks left and right, for a moment he thought he was dealing with Bakugo. “I'll give you a can of tuna if you win!”
That seemed to attract attention. "That? Hmm, I'm a genius who won't leave anyone standing!”, but that wasn't enough because the ghosts continued doing their thing. "You! They are momentary cowards!”
“For a moment, I'll give you one more can!” If they had a chance to get the ghosts to leave them alone they needed to work as a team. But what Grim was most interested in was the food.
“Gmmmm! Hey! You! “You better tell me where the ghosts are!” the cat shouted.
“On your left!” the teenager pointed out. Grim attacked and one of the ghosts retreated after being hit by his attack, at least Izuku already knew that they could be damaged, at least with magic.
“Oh! I gave him… Good! “We’re going to chase them until we throw them out of here, you know!”
“He already gained confidence,” Midoriya murmured as he saw that Grim attacked again as if he were not afraid of anything. They stayed like that for a few minutes, although it seemed like hours, trying to drive away the ghosts. Izuku was getting tired, his body had never been in as much movement as it was at that moment, and he seriously thought that the idea of exercising was not bad.
“Ghihhhhhh! “We retreat!” the three ghosts shouted. “Run away!”
And with that the three of them flew away until they crossed one of the walls causing one of the paintings to fall and hit the floor.
"Hey? "Do we win?" Grim asked himself as he watched them leave.
“Your power is amazing,” he praised a little, knowing that the cat did most of the work.
“Haaa… Ighh! Fu-...It was scary-...”, he said, almost scared to death but recovered quickly enough to hide his feelings. “I mean!...I wasn't afraid at all, you know! "This is nothing to the great Grim, you know!" He looked at where the ghosts had gone and shouted at them. “How about that, ghosts?! They saw it?!"
“Good night!~” Crowley greeted, scaring the other two, he had come out of nowhere. “I have kindly brought you dinner~” the adult paused for a moment before starting to rant. "Hey! but if you... You are the monster that was fighting at the entrance ceremony! I just kicked you out so… Why are you here?!”
“Hmph! I'm done with the ghost problem, you know! Be grateful!” Grim boasted, not knowing that the adult had no idea what that meant.
“Hm? "What do you mean by that?" the adult asked, confused, so the green-haired boy had to explain everything that happened from the moment he left until he returned. “Now that you mention it, there were some prankster ghosts around so students stayed away from this dormitory. And that's why it's empty now. I had forgotten about that though, hmmm…” he seemed a little thoughtful at the moment. “For you two to work together to get rid of the ghosts.”
“I will not ignore the comment altogether. “I was just standing there watching and I did this for a can of tuna,” the angry animal noted. Izuku looked at him in disbelief when he said it because it was obvious that he couldn't do much without some power, plus he was more focused on not getting burned. vivo. “Ah! I still don’t have my can of tuna.”
“You two… Once again… Could you show me how the two of you exterminated those ghosts?” asked the director.
“But we already got rid of all the ghosts,” Grim pointed out again, looking at the empty place. “Before that… My-can-of-tuna!”
“I'll be the ghost,” the duo looked at him strangely. “If they win, I'll give you cans of tuna,” then he smiled. “Because I'm very kind!~” He took out a small bottle from his clothes and drank it. “Then transformation potion.”
In front of them was no longer the man in the strange suit, now there was a ghost very similar to the previous ones, but the differences were somewhat noticeable; He still had the cloak, but his top hat was adorned with a gena and a crow's feather and the recognizable mask of the Black Death was still on his face.
“Ehhhh! I do not want to do it! This is annoying, I have to hang out with him again,” he grumbled, a little annoyed at having to be working as a team with the useless boy without magic.
“This is your chance to enter the school,” Midoriya did not miss the opportunity to try to manipulate him a little. Something told him that it would be good for the two of them to prove themselves to the director.
“This is the last time! Absolutely, you definitely have to give me tuna!” he gave in to the other's insistence. The two fought against the director although it was much more difficult since he sometimes used magic to hinder them but in the end they managed to make him return to his original form. “Eghhhh… Haaaaa how about that?” Grim asked tiredly.
"Oh. I can't believe you can order monsters,” the adult became thoughtful again. “Actually, my teacher sensed the commotion during the initial ceremony. “What… You!…” he pointed to the freckled man. “You have talent as a trainer of animals and wild beasts,” Izuku mocked, if that were true he would have been able to handle his bullies a long time ago. “But… No matter what,…he doesn't have any magical ability…” he muttered.
Ignoring what the adult said, Izuku said, “Can you let Grim stay here with me?”
"As you say?! To a monster?!”
"... That..."
"Please! He could be a lot of help since I don't have magic!” Izuku used that card knowing that the adult would not refuse.
“...Hmmmp... It can't be helped. Alright."
“Really?!” Grim asked happily.
“But, I can't just allow anyone, much less a monster, to enter the school that wasn't chosen by the shadow mirror. Plus you…” he looked at Izuku. “I can't let you be a free shipper here until you return to your own world.”
"What's that? What a short-lived joy,” and Izuku couldn't agree more.
“Well, listen to the end. About the fact that your soul was called here the school has to take responsibility as owners of the dark mirror. For the moment you will be allowed to stay in this dormitory for free but…other needs you will have to provide for yourself”, he took a moment so that the minor could process what was mentioned before continuing. ”As for what someone empty-handed can offer…Humm…Humm…Humm…I know…”
That smile didn't give him any confidence. “What exactly are you going to do?”
“You don't have to get defensive. I'll have you do maintenance or odd jobs around campus. From what I see you have good cleaning skills,” he owed that to his mother who didn't like the house to be dirty. “What do you think of two people in a group like maintenance managers ? If you do that, you will be able to go around the campus with my approval. I will let you use the library to find information on how to return to your world and also to study since I am very kind!~”
The offer itself wasn't bad, he had to give the man credit for allowing him to investigate how he got there in the first place and maybe disprove his theory of life after death. He was also aware that he was in no position to refuse since he had nothing with him and really everything rests on the decisions of the man in front of him.
“But!” Crowley suddenly raised his voice causing the other two to come out. “Only after you have finished your work.”
“Ehhhh, I don't want to do that, you know,” Grim started to complain, “I want to wear that cool uniform and become a student too, you know.”
“If you're not satisfied with that, I can kick you out again,” the director suggested.
“Understood, I just have to do it right? I will do that"
“Understood,” the green-haired man simply said.
"Very good. Then, starting tomorrow, you two will be in charge of maintenance at Night Raven College,” the adult said.
After that the three returned to the entrance of the dormitory and ended up devouring the food that Crowley had brought although Grim was the one who had eaten leaving Izuku a little hungry but it wasn't something the young man couldn't handle. Then they looked for a room stable enough to settle in, so they ended up in one of the rooms on the first floor, made up the bed and prepared to sleep even though the rain was still as strong as at the beginning. The first to sleep was Grim, who as soon as he touched the mattress fell into Morpheus's arms. On the other hand, Midoriya thought about everything that had happened since the moment he had decided to jump from the roof of Aldera. He looked out the window as the raindrops hit the glass and the green thunder left a light show, he could swear the sky was angry.
“He's very angry,” he murmured before closing his eyes and falling into exhaustion. Tomorrow will be a very long day.
But, without knowing it, three pairs of eyes were looking at him hidden in the darkness of the room; a few hours ago they had realized something. That stain covered the body of the minor who was asleep at that moment. They could see that recognizable color since they themselves had that stain, but he still had a body.corporeal so I don't know there was carried completely carried out the process and that in some way makes you happy because they were notOK with which such a young life extinguished no matter how much jokers they were and wanted more company.
The Ghosts looked at each other and smiled.
They would make the child's stay in this world the best possible.
The sun barely passed through the wood that blocked the windows of the room but it was enough for Midoriya's consciousness to begin to awaken even though he was not completely awake, he was tired and the storm had not helped much because He had woken up repeatedly thinking it was a dream only to realize it was his new reality. He shifted uncomfortably in the dusty bed, Grim hadn't stopped snoring and that bothered him a little.
“Ghiheeheehee!... Don't you two have to prepare to clean the school?” A voice in the distance caught his attention a little, but he still refused to wake up.
“Hmmmm miñyaaaa…. “Five more minutes,” Grim said in his sleep.
“If you rest longer you will never wake up,” another voice followed closely behind.
“Just like us,” the third stranger finished with a big laugh that ended up waking up the stowaway.
“Fgyaaahhh! "Is it the ghosts again?!" Grim shouted when he saw them very close to the bed, causing Izuku to stir as if nothing had happened. Grim looked at him again. “Hey you, wake up!”
And that was the signal I needed to fully wake up. He looked at the four beings in front of him and sighed. It had not been a dream, I continued in the other world.
“Will you live here?” asked the thinnest ghost of the group. “We will play many pranks on him from now on.”
"Curse! Someday we will get rid of you.” Grim cursed, angry at being woken up.
Footsteps were heard from the hallway until they reached the door of the room. The knocking of the door made everyone turn and look at Dire Crowley who stood with a tray of food and a package in his arms.
“Good morning to you two! Did you sleep well?”
“I was completely asleep when they surprised me out of nowhere,” Grim said, crossing his legs. “How abandoned did they let this place get like this?”, that was a good question. “Being woken up by ghosts is the worst, you know!”
“I didn't sleep very well,” Izuku muttered to such a degree that it seemed like he hadn't said anything.
“Although you have just been expelled, you can be very shameless. Wonderful!”, congratulated the eldest. “Okay, now I came to talk to you about your work today.”
He handed her the clothes and the tray of food and then left the room. Izuku knew that the changes of clothes were for him to change into. When he finished changing he looked in the mirror, the clothes were a little big on him but it was due to his short height and how thin he was, he assumed it was because of his age. He went down the stairs to the living room, where Crowley was waiting for him next to Grim who seemed so bored with having to work.
“Today your job is to clean the campus. But the campus is quite big. Cleaning everything without magic will be almost impossible. “Then I would like you to clean the Main Street to the library,” at least not clean the entire castle. “Did you understand? Please watch Grim closely so that he doesn't cause a similar scene like yesterday.”
“Understood,” Izuku agreed.
"I count on you. You are allowed to eat lunch in the school cafeteria,” that was a good thing. “So, take care of yourselves by working with enthusiasm.”
“Chee… there's no way I'm going to clean, I want to go to class and do… Bang! Boom! Boom! Boom! and do a lot of amazing spells, you know.”
“W-We'll study in the library after cleaning,” the human reminded him, causing the opponent to mutter unintelligible things.
The two finished breakfast and went to the main street, where they found other workers who, like them, were starting their work day. Some smiled and gave them instructions on where to find the warehouse and cleaning supplies.
“Woahh! Incredible! "So this is the main street, yesterday I couldn't see it well, but..." Grim said, amazed by the place, just like Izuku, he had not seen the place well because it was night and it was dark but now that it was day He could completely see the place and couldn't help but compare it to some park in Musutafu. “Who are those in the statues? There are seven of them, but do they look pretty scary? “That grandmother looks pretty smug, you know,” he said, pointing to a specific statue.
“Don't you know about the queen of hearts?”, a voice made the duo look at the owner, he was taller than Izuku, he had dark orange hair and red eyes. Over his left eye he had a red heart-shaped spot. He was dressed in what would be the institutional uniform and had a red and red ribbon that was attached to his left arm by a brooch with the emblem that the freckled man did not recognize.
But despite his friendly appearance, there was something that didn't quite convince Izuku.
"Queen of Hearts? Is she important?” Grim asked.
“Long ago, she was the queen who lived in the Labyrinth of Roses,” the three looked at the statue, it was an old, fat and very ugly woman who was dressed in a glamorous and strange dress, wearing her crown on her head. and a heart-shaped fan. “She valued rules and discipline, written in everything, from the march of the card soldiers to the color of the rose bushes. They were lands where madness lived, but everyone submitted to its rules.”
"Why?" Izuku asked, not understanding much of what he was talking about.
"Why do you ask? Because otherwise she would cut off their heads,” that last statement made the green-haired man shudder. That didn't sound good at all.
“That's terrifying!” and Izuku couldn't agree more.
"It's great. I like it. Because no one would listen to a queen who is nice all the time, right?”
“I wouldn't say that,” the other teenager mentioned, remembering how the heroes were listened to despite their passive or happy nature, it reminded him of All Might.
"It's true. A strong leader is better,” Grim’s statement did not surprise him at all. “By the way, who are you?”
“I'm Ace, a fresh-faced first year. Nice to meet you,” he introduced himself with a smile.
“I am Grim. A genius who will become the best magician, you know,” and they came back with the same thing, sometimes it was getting tired of Grim sharing that insistence with Bakugo. “And the fool here is Izuku. “My henchman.”
“I'm Izuku Midoriya, nice to meet you,” the freckled man murmured.
“You have a very strange name,” the orange-haired man pointed out.
“Hey, hey Ace. "So the lion over there with the scar, is it important?" The cat pointed to another of the statues.
"Of course. “This is the king of the beasts that once ruled the savannah,” the one from the heart began to relate. “However, he was not born to be king, but rather took the throne with effort and elaborate planning,” that sounded like usurpation. “After becoming king, he even allowed the hated hyenas to live in his kingdom without discrimination.”
That last bit caught Izuku's attention.
Without discrimination.
Discrimination was a very delicate topic but little seen in their world. They were all discriminated against in different ways, whether it was because of their appearance, type of Quirk, their parents were villains, and the one who suffered peculiar discrimination. The Quirkless were the weakest in the social chain according to statistics, they are described as fragile people without any rights and even though in the past the world was full of quirkless people the world lost interest in them and they began to discriminate against them by calling them the weakest link in society.
The Quirkless are of no use in a world full of heroes and villains.
The Quirkless are nothing.
Quirkless are useless and do not deserve to live.
Izuku let out a sigh trying to calm himself, he didn't want to start crying about his problems in the middle of a street full of students heading to their morning classes. He looked at them out of the corner of his eye, some of them were murmuring while he pointed at them without concealment, others were laughing as if they were not present. He was used to that happening and felt intimidated by the wide variety of people doing it, this was not Aldera, where there were only a limited number of students, this was a school ten times larger and therefore more student body. He tried to maintain his composure as Ace continued to explain each statue Grim asked him about.
If the king of beasts had been in his world he would have really followed him.
“Ohhhh…looking at it closely? He seems to be standing proud on the rock, you know… And… Who is the lady with the octopus legs?”
“The sea witch who lives in a Cavern in the depths of the ocean Her purpose was to help all the mermaids in misfortune”, another person I wish I had met. “As long as you can pay the price she asks she can transform you, you will find love, anything she can give you”, Give and take. “With his ability there was no such thing as a wish he couldn't fulfill. Well, they say the price was high, but… That's how much anything costs.”
He was very right about that.
“Ñyahaahh! “So, can I ask you to make me rich if I become a great magician?” the youngest asked excitedly. “So, then… Who is that old man with the big hat?”
“The sorcerer of the sand. He was a cunning grand vizier for a foolish sultan who saw through a false prince. The prince was actually a street rat who deceived the princess. Then he got a magic lamp and became the most powerful sorcerer of them all! With that power they say he became sultan.”
“Hoho! "So it's important that the magicians are the center of attention, right?" the kitten reasoned and then pointed to another statue. “Ohhh! The lady over there is really beautiful.”
The woman in that statue was dressed in robes and a cape along with a large crown on her head while holding an apple with a skull. “She is the beautiful map queen of the entire kingdom. Every day she checked her state of beauty in her magic mirror. And when it looked like he might fall from first place, he never hesitated to do something to get it back,” that sounded quite familiar. “I guess she had a strong will to continue being the most beautiful in the world. So cool, right? They also say that she was even an expert in making poisons.”
“I-It's beautiful, but… I don't need them,” Grim didn't seem very comfortable talking about poisons and neither did Izuku.
"Yeah? But it's great that she has something that she would never give up," that phrase made the green-haired man stop sweeping the leaves on the road. Give up, that word gives him a bad taste in his mouth, the first time he had heard it was from the doctor who diagnosed him as Quirkless, the second time it was his mother indirectly, Bakugou repeated it to him all his life and the teachers and companions with society shame I know repeated every second of your life...
Even All Might told him.
“It-...It's true. That determined character is pretty good. Over there, who is the man with fire on his head?” Grim asked, changing the subject, the three looked at the other statue at the end of the main street. “Just looking at it gives me goosebumps.”
“The lord of the underworld,” Ace mentioned, trying to give a mysterious voice although it didn't come out at all. Izuku looked interested and finally found something recognizable. “She is ruled by a land full of evil spirits on her own. So it's no joke that he is a powerful being. He has a terrifying face, but… he did his detestable job without ever taking a vacation, and also… The Cerberus, The Hydra, even the titans fought for him under his command.”
I could already understand which lord of the underworld he was referring to. In his world they knew him as Hades, the one who ruled the underworld and all the beings that lived there. He is a Greek god, very different from the culture in which he grew up. But he never knew that the titans had fought for him, in fact according to what he had been told and read in the library, Ades and his brothers fought against the reign of the titans to overthrow their tyrant father, Kronos.
“Hmm… Hmm. So being talented doesn't mean you're arrogant, you know. Lastly, who is the one with horns?
“She is the thorn sorceress of the magical mountains. Noble and elegant. Even among the seven, she is the best at magic and curses. She can summon lightning and storms, cover a country with thorns,” he began to list the things the woman could do. “His ability for magic is on another level, there was even a time when he transformed into a great dragon!”
“Ohhhhh!~ A dragon! "All of us monsters admire you, you know!" Grim commented excitedly.
“They're incredible, right?” he said dreamily and then changed his face to one that the other teenager could identify: arrogance. “Unlike a certain Apache.”
And there is your bad feeling.
Notes:
Little Izuku feels strange living with three ghosts and a magical creature Hahaha
Writing this chapter is somewhat difficult since he is interacting with the dead and they realize that Midoriya is not normal, they can see the stain of death.

Chapter Text
Prologue: Broken Spider
Both the creature and the younger teen looked at the orange haired man in surprise. Grim seemed to be the most surprised of the two, his eyes had become bulging and his fur stood on end while the student laughed out loud, amused by the expressions of the animal and the other young man who had shrunk in place at that sound. so recognizable and overwhelming to its existence.
“I can't take it anymore!” the older man said laughing. “Hey you guys! Aren't they what went crazy yesterday at the entrance ceremony? The guy who summoned the dark mirror despite having no magic and a monster that wasn't even invited. Wow, I was trying hard not to laugh during the entrance ceremony.”
"That? What a rude guy, you know!” Grim complained with a frown.
“And now they weren't allowed in, they had to be made janitors?” His arrogant and not at all friendly smile was still on his face causing the other teenager to shrink further in his place. “Ahahaha! How pathetic”, Grim could only continue grumbling in anger. “Besides, you don't even know about the Big Seven, how ignorant are you? “I recommend that you go back to the nursery before coming to Night Raven College.”
Grim was fuming from his ears while Izuku tried not to panic at the arrogant attitude of the guy in front of him. Although I couldn't help but give him a little reason that he needed to learn more, but it wasn't his fault! He wasn't from that place to begin with! “At this rate they are going to…”
“I thought about teasing you a little, but…You didn't dispel my expectations. “Unlike you, I have to attend classes,” he turned on his heels and looked at them over his shoulder, showing a big, mocking smile. “Work hard to keep this school sparkling, you two~.”
And with that he began to head towards the main building.
"That kind! He'll just say that and walk away! "I'm already angry, you know!", with great fury the raccoon launched a large flame towards the student who almost did not dodge that attack.
“Whoaa!... Burn- Be careful! What the hell are you doing?!”, the armed Ace asked when he saw the fire almost touching him.
“That's what you get for making fun of me! That head of fire, I will burn it so that it is truly a big head of fire!”
“Firehead?” Ace's attitude changed to a more alert one. “Hee! “They really have guts to fight me,” he looked back at the other teenager. “Same for you, I'll make sure they end up like dogs with their tails between their legs,” with a roar, GrimHe launched another fireball that was dodged by the heart boy. “Oh… Be careful! …Take this!…” he said, taking his pen and in one movement he launched “wind?”
“This guy… There is wind blowing everywhere! "My fire will go out, you know!" Grim said angrily as he saw how his flames were reducing.
"What's that? A fight?” asked another of the students who were on the main street. Izuku looked at him again, he had the same bracelet as Ace, but he looked older enough that they were in the same grade.
"Very good! “Catch them!” shouted another.
“There's even magic to control the wind,” Izuku muttered, his mind completely engrossed in the theories popping up in his head, lamenting that he didn't have his notebook with him to write down his analyses, maybe he could ask the director for a notebook and a pen.
“A fire as weak as that wouldn't touch me a hair,” Ace said smugly.
But that didn't stop you from almost getting roasted anyway, Izuku thought as he remembered that the orange-haired man almost ended up without hair.
"What did you say? You better get ready, you know,” the two continued fighting and at one point Izuku realized that almost the entire courtyard was destroyed. "Screw you! Don't dodge him!”, Midoriya was scared, he had never seen Grim really angry and seeing the other teen just mock them didn't help matters, no matter how much he yelled for them to stop, none of them listened to him and all only to end with a burn on one of his arms since Ace had not correctly calculated the trajectory of his attack. Grim was increasingly annoyed by the young man's skill so in a fit of anger he threw a fireball straight at Ace. "Take this!"
“I just change the path of the wind and… Take that!”
While this was happening, Ace's attack ended up completely targeting the green-haired boy, who was scared to see that the attack was heading directly at him. "Be careful!" someone in the crowd shouted when they saw the minor in the middle of the road. Many began to shout in alarm when he almost ended up set on fire if he didn't duck in time.
He had to thank Bakugo for this.
Otherwise he had to get used to avoiding his explosions.
However, he had not been the one affected. Everyone was silent when they saw the statue of the Queen of Hearts burning like a torch. “Ahhhhh! Shit! The statue of the queen of hearts is burned!”
It's because you changed the trajectory of my fire, you know! Stay still and let me fry you!”
“Do you really think someone will let themselves be burned by you?” Ace didn't seem at all amused by what was said.
The two tried to escape, leaving Midoriya there without seeing if he was okay. Ash was covering most of his face and the pain from the burn was making it difficult for him to move his left arm. He looked up when he saw Crowley's recognizable hat and mask.
Without a doubt… they were screwed.
"Enough! "What's going on here?!" he asked with a shout, everyone could see his frown and the danger he radiated. He was furious.
“... Director…”
"He…! He will hit us with his whip of love! Let's run away!"
And just like he said, he traps them both with the dark leather rope. "Hurts!"
"It hurts much! "It's the second day in a row!" Grim screamed when he had to feel that sensation again.
“It's my love whip!” the adult crossed his arms. “It will be another hundred years before they can outrun me and surpass me in speed!”, and Izuku couldn't agree more, he had seen him disappear that morning only to find him at the fence smiling, all in the blink of an eye. eyes. Then the older man looked at Grim. “Even though I told you yesterday that it won't cause any problems, right? And then you go and char one of the statues of the big seven! “I WOULD VERY LIKE TO SEE THEM EXPELLED.”
“Wait, that's not…” Ace tried to speak but the words didn't come.they went out from his mouth. But Crowley ignored him, turning to look at Midoriya who had already managed to get up from the floor.
"...And you... Is this how you supervise Grim-kun?", unlike with the other two, the director sounded disappointed, something that surprised Izuku a little.
"I'm sorry…"
“My God,” he shook his head. “...Your...Your name and rank?”
He was referring to Ace who had his head lowered in resignation. “Ace Trappola, first year.”
“So… young Trappola, young Grim, and you too,” he pointed to the three of them. “As punishment he ordered the three of them to wash a hundred windows around the campus.”
“Fuñya! "It's all because he was making fun of us!" Grim complained, he was tired of being sent to clean up and even more so having to be watched by Izuku and now getting in trouble for a guy who the only thing he didn't know to do was keep his comments to himself.
“Me too?!” Ace asked excitedly, as if he didn't believe what he was hearing. He had already heard that tone of voice from Katsuki every time Aunt scolded him and didn't let him get his way.
“Of course!” confirmed the oldest. “After school, we'll meet in the cafeteria, right?”
“... Fiiiiine…”
“Nothing but misery since yesterday, you know.”
After that they just continued cleaning the main street. By collecting the leaves from the trees that had fallen, Grim managed to concentrate to burn them to ashes while Izuku continued with his work of cleaning the statue that had become so black as to blend in with the walls of Ramshackle Dorm, it took several hours to clean it. to be able to remove every last gram of ash he had but he was proud of his work. The two headed to the cafeteria as the Director indicated, it was the largest place he had ever seen, the chandeliers hung from the ceiling and instead of lights they had shiny stones that illuminated the entire place. The tables were made of dark wood and the fireplace on one side of the room gave him the impression that at some point he would end up cleaning that soot-filled place. On the opposite side of the Fireplace there were large windows that showed a great view of the patio.
Grim was lying on one of the benches, his fur was standing up and he had some leaves on him. “I'm already tired of cleaning all day, you know. On top of that, now we have to clean a hundred windows…”
“We have no choice…” Izuku said, looking at the creature with pity. Just like Grim, he was tired of having to go up and down from high places just because the kitten couldn't reach certain parts.
“Besides, that guy Ace is taking too long,” there was truth in that, classes had already ended and Trappola was nowhere to be found, they hadn't been there for long so it shouldn't take that long if he was already there. building to start. “Who does he think he is for making me wait? It bothers me.
From there, several hours had passed when they finally understood something that did make them both angry. "....Gh!... I don't care that... You're too late!" he said angrily, they had already cleaned seventeen windows each and Ace didn't show up. “It could be that he ran away, right?”
“Maybe,” Izuku couldn't rule out that possibility; throughout his life he had seen many of his classmates leave him alone cleaning.
“It's unforgivable that he gets away with punishing us!” He jumped off the table and went straight to the door. “Come on henchman, let's get Ace and make him clean windows! You know."
They had to ask several students and staff to find the other teenager's classroom. "Hey! Where is Ace?!” Grim asked angrily. “We won't let you hide and leave us with everything, you know!”, then he looked at the empty room. “There is no one anymore?!”
“No, I'm still here,” that voice sounded old, the two looked around until they found another talking picture.
“Ahhhh! The painting speaks!”
“Haven't you noticed,” Izuku asked somewhat credulous, a few moments ago they had spoken with one.
"What's happening? There is nothing strange that paintings speak in this school, right? The lady on the wall over there, The knight on the wall over here. “Everyone can talk,” he pointed to the painting. “Portraits can speak because they have a mouth. That's normal, you know?"
“W-Well, usually paintings don't talk,” Midoriya said, remembering his world. There was nothing like it, unless he was under a Quirk.
“Your normal and my normal differ regarding our quirks, don't they? Other than that, are you guys looking for someone?”
“We're looking for a guy named Ace, you know. “He has a heart mark on his face and bright orange hair.”
“Oh, I know him. He is one of the freshmen who started today, right?” he recognized the painting. “Although he returned to his dormitory not long ago, but…”
That?! That bastard escaped after all!” Grim growled. Do you know where he went?”
“The entrance is behind the east building.”
“Hey!” the cat called. “Let's go get him!”
The murmurs of the tired students reached his ears. The instructions on the paintings had been too precise to get lost so he had to quicken his pace before Ace thought of running away. The truth is, the last thing he wanted at that moment was to get into trouble, but his day was hardly the best so far. He looked through the crowd of students entering each of the mirrors in the place, according to what he had heard those mirrors led to the school dormitories so they had to find Trappola before he entered his designated mirror because he was no longer there. They couldn't do anything to him in the dorm unless they talked to their Dorm Leader and Izuku didn't really think he was capable of facing the red-haired boy from the entrance ceremony.
“There's no way I'm cleaning a hundred windows. I'll just leave now…” he heard them say to his left, there he was, at the entrance to the hall of mirrors and unfortunately he wasn't the only one.
"...¡You!..."
“Geh… They found me.”
"You! Wait! We won’t let you be the only one to escape, you know!”
“I'm not going to wait at all,” he said with a smile, only to run directly to the mirror in his bedroom. "I'm out of here!"
“It's not fair that you just leave!” It's not fair that you put me in trouble , thought Izuku running with Grim after Ace. “I wish I didn't do it too!”
On the other hand, a blue-haired boy turned around when he heard the scandal. He was about to enter through the mirror when he saw one of his classmates approaching at full speed and he was not the only one since he saw a green-haired boy much shorter and younger than them on their heels.
He's very fast for being short and having almost no muscle mass.
“Get off! Ace yelled at them to get out of his way.
“...Huh?...Ah!...Y-Yes!”, he moved away from the gear before the boy crashed into him. But upon seeing this Izuku did what he very rarely dared to do...
"Catch him please!" His scream echoed through the room, drawing the blue-haired man's attention. “Some spell or something.”
“Magic to capture someone?” asked the third teenager. “I should freeze his legs…No…immobilize him with a rope…Or it would be better…”
“Whatever is fine, just hit it hard! Quick!” Grim shouted.
"Anything?! Anything…” the boy seemed to hesitate. "Good! Anything is fine so let's go!”, he took his pen and waved it in the orange haired man's direction. "Something heavy!"
Suddenly a giant cauldron appeared in front of Ace, falling on top of him. Izuku had to stop before his fate was the same thanks to the closeness he had with the other boy. He murmured, thanking his reflexes that had saved him from a dangerous situation again.
"What the hell is this?! A cauldron?!”, he asked, a little hurt, that attack had taken him by surprise since according to him the green-haired boy had no magic but he had still managed to throw a cauldron at him but looking around, he could notice the characteristic uniform from his bedroom.
“...Gaaaahahahaha!...Look at it! That Ace looks like a pancake under that cauldron, you know,” Grim said laughing and Midoriya couldn't agree more, a small smile appeared on his lips, he knew it was wrong to laugh at the situation they had caused but he couldn't help it. “How pathetic.”
And that was a clear mockery of what happened that morning.
“I didn't think a cauldron would come out,” the third boy said thoughtfully. Izuku turned to look at him carefully, just like Ace, he was a little taller than him, he had dark blue hair and light green eyes, nothing compared to the dead green that Midoriya was wearing at that moment. Unlike the other two teenagers, his hair was mostly brushed down one side while a portion hung over his right side. Above his right eye, he had a black mark in the shape of a pike. Like Ace, he wore the institutional uniform with the same dormitory ribbon. It was more than obvious to Izuku that they were companions. “I think… Did I go a little overboard?”
“Ouch! Hurts! "It hurts!... It's okay, right?..." Trappola complained about the pain when he got up from the floor. “Those hundred windows should be cleaned in no time.”
“It's not something that is done in an instant,” Izuku said tiredly, the other two teenagers looked at him, the clothes he was wearing were all covered in dust and much of his hair was messy, the smell of chlorine and soap came from him. him despite his tattered appearance and the fact that his hands were red due to the carvings he had to give to the statue and the windows.
“Clean a hundred punishment windows, what the hell did they do?” asked the blue-haired man.
“You don't want to know,” Izuku replied, his stutter gone after running all over campus trying to find the defaulter.
“I messed with the furball,” Ace explained. “And we might burn the Queen of Hearts statue a little.”
“Did they damage one of the statues of the seven great ones?!” the young man asked excitedly. “That's something that definitely makes anyone angry. Even though you get into a prestigious school and do something like that on the first day…”
"How annoying. By the way, who are you?” Ace asked.
“I'm Deuce, Deuce Spade,” the boy introduced himself. “Does it hurt you to at least remember the faces of your classmates?”
“...Umm... You don't remember mine either.”
“A-Anyway. If the director ordered it, it means you have to take it seriously.”
"...Yes, yes... Understood... Okay, let's just get it over with," at that moment the three of them realized something.
“Grim is… strangely quiet,” he said, turning to look at where the animal was supposed to be only to see nothing.
“Ah! The furball is gone!”
Izuku ran towards the entrance of the classroom only to see Grim running at full speed in the distance with a big smile, it was not difficult to know that he had escaped. “Hehe! I'm entrusting everything to you, Goodbye!~ Goodbye!~”
“That bastard, he made me take his place,” Ace cursed, noticing that it was the creature's plan from the beginning. “Hey you,... Um... Ju-Juice?”
“I'm not Juice! I AM DEUCE! With It gave !”, the other boy was really offended, who confused his name with juice?”
“You are also responsible so help us catch that furball.”
“Why me?” asked the boy.
“This dead weight here can't use magic, so it doesn't count,” I grabbed Izuku by the back of his shirt. "Come on!"
The three ran after the fugitive, running along the main street, crossing the courtyard and the statues until they reached the main building and ironically they reached the place where Ace was supposed to have been hours ago, but there was no sign of Grim there.
"Shit! "He ran all over the place!" Ace got frustrated, looking around.
“They can't catch me! So… Catch me if you can, you know!”, the mocking voice came from the ceiling, the three of them looked up only to find the kitten high above.
“Grim! How did you get up there?!”, the freckled man shouted in alarm.
“Climbing on the chandelier is unfair. "We have not yet learned the magic of flying," the one with the pike began to mutter, trying to clear his mind, searching for some spell of his knowledge. “We need something to get up there andalso catch him,” Deuce looked at his companions for a moment, until an idea came to mind when he saw the orange-haired man. "I know!"
“I have to think of a good idea…” Ace muttered, trying to do the same as his partner. But as soon as he looked up his eyes widened in alarm and he began to back away. “Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey… Wait a second!… Why are you pointing your magic pen at me?”
“I’m going to throw you in there!”
Izuku turned to look at them alarmed, knowing that whatever Deuce was planning was not going to turn out well. He backed up until he reached the other side of the table, trying not to be within reach of the candlestick, which he was more than sure was going to fall.
“You're kidding, right?” Ace asked, already levitating. “Whoaa… Don't make me float! Are you seriously going to throw me?!”, all the bravery and arrogance that he always brought with him disappeared as soon as Deuce made him float higher and higher, he seemed terrified. STOP! OH REALLY!"
“Make sure you catch it!”, with great effort the blue-haired man pointed his feather towards Grim. “Aim well… Here I come!”
And with that Ace was no longer between the two boys.
When Izuku tried to look back to where Grim was, he was already on the ground with Trappola, both of them covered in dust and dizzy due to the blow, in addition to the fact that the chandelier was shattered on the ground. Dust filled the place causing the four of them to cough. “Ahhhh! The… The candelabra!
"....... I can't believe it….."
“SH-SHIT!” Deuce cursed. “I didn't think about landing after you caught it!”
“......You... Are you an idiot?!” Ace yelled at his classmate, he was beyond furious and then changed to a more alarmed one. “We caught Grim, but if the director finds out that we broke the chandelier…”
"...If I find out... What happens?", now Izuku felt like he was going to die. The principal was more upset than in the morning and would surely end up expelling him from school.
“Ah… Director.”
"ALL! YOU! REALLY! WHAT EXACTLY DID THEY DO?!
"...I'm dizzy, you know..."
“They are not satisfied with damaging the statue! So you destroyed a chandelier?! This is already unforgivable!” I look at the three of them. “Everyone will be expelled!”
The scream that everyone let out was so loud that even the ghosts who ran the kitchen stuck their heads out the window, the portraits looked at them accusatively and the birds flew away in terror.
"Not that! Anything but that, please,” Deuce said pleadingly. “I have a lot to do at this school.”
“You have nothing to blame but your own stupidity.”
“I ask you, I will pay all the damages if I have to.”
“This chandelier is not a normal chandelier. This is a magical candlestick that uses candles that burn for all eternity. It was entrusted to the school because its function would never end. Taking into account its historical value, it would cost no less than a billion madol,” he concluded. “Can you pay for that damage?”
“B-Billion madol?!” Deuce looked so alarmed that Izuku wondered how much that sum of money was worth.
“B-But, Director, can't you fix it with your magic?” Even Ace seemed very nervous about the cost.
“Magic is not powerful enough to fix everything,” Crowley seemed to be scolding him for such a question. “More importantly, what we call the heart of any tool was shattered. “No two magic crystals are the same,” he looked at the object on the ground. “And this chandelier will never again light its beautiful, shining light.”
“That's it…” The three of them were sorry for what had happened. Especially Izuku, not seeing anyone trying to stop the duo, knew that despite everything they tried, it was more than obvious that they were already added to the blacklist and he would probably kick them out tomorrow morning, so he tried to stay calm. and try to plan his next steps. It would be very difficult for him to find a place to live, as well as a school, he would not abandon his studies for anything, and also look for a registry office so that he could prove his existence in that world and of course investigate how to return to his world.
Although he wasn't so sure he wanted that last one.
He looked down and saw his feet. In the little he had seen of Twisted Wonderland, his world and this one were no different, people will continue to discriminate just because of his lack of Quirk or Magic but even so, he saw that this place was a little less obvious with his situation, he could Note with the teachers and the beings that lived there like the ghosts and portraits that they had heard about his situation, they had offered their help and had not ignored him or treated him badly, at least they were decent, a lot compared to what he had to face. for a decade.
If not, I definitely wouldn't go back there.
“Shit… What am I doing? What am I going to tell my mother?” Spade muttered.
“True… there is only one thing… that can fix the chandelier and make it return to normal,” when he said that the three teenagers were stunned and looked at him attentively. “The magic crystal of this chandelier was extracted from the Dwarf Mine. If we obtain a magic crystal of the same type as the original manufacture, it might be possible to function.”
Deuce did not hesitate and took a step forward. “I'll go look for that magic crystal! Please let me go!"
“However, I have no guarantee that a piece was left in the mine. It has been closed for a long time and it is very possible that it is out of crystals.”
"I will do anything to avoid expulsion!" Spade's look made something inside Midoriya, he knew that look, he had it for a long time, that look bright and full of life, nothing like now that his eyes are already. They did not reflect that brightness.
"Very good. But I'll give you just one night to get it. Come to me with the magic crystal tomorrow morning otherwise…I will have to expel you without exception,” he said, looking at the green-haired boy who shrugged his shoulders when he felt the director's golden gaze on him.
"Yes, thank you very much!"
“There's no other way, let's get the magic crystal and end this,” Ace seemed to have given up on Spade's optimism although Izuku could find a touch of resignation.
“Use the door in the mirror chamber to go directly to the Dwarf Mine,” Crowley told them, at least he wasn't going to send them on foot.
"Yes!" Deuce shouted and left the cafeteria ready to find that stone and not be expelled, Izuku followed him holding Grim in his arms, if they had this chance to stay in that place until they found a way to get papers in that place.
"What happened?" Grim asked, waking up. “What exactly did I do?”
“I would be happy if you remain unconscious,” Izuku said, a little angry at the animal. He really disliked Grim and Ace's attitude, reminding him of Bakugou Katsuki and he was really trying to forget him. The four of them headed to the ceremony room, everything was the same as the previous night except that it was not full of people, it almost seemed to be the perfect place to hide if any of the bullies from the students dared to bother him again.
Deuce approached the mirror in the middle of the room followed by Ace. “Why did it become so difficult like this? Today is not my day, really,” Izuku sent him a dirty look he had never used before.
“This is not the time to chatter! Come on,” he looked at the mirror and said, “Mirror of shadows! Light our way to the dwarf mine!”, at those words, the mirror of shadows began to emit a shine that reminded Izuku of a star and a memory that he had not thought of in a long time, that light now I knew her, but I didn't really know where I had seen her before.
He closed his eyes for a moment against the brightness that was beginning to damage his retina and when he opened them he saw that he was no longer in the mirror room. The place where he was was surrounded by trees, the night did not reveal much more than a small bridge and a small house in the distance hidden among the trees.
“So this is the dwarf mine… It used to be prosperous thanks to the mining of magic crystals, but,” Deuce began to explain when he saw her confused face.
“It seems like something is going to suddenly appear…” Grim screamed, Izuku could feel himself shaking, but he was no one to talk to, he was almost crying with fear.
Ace looked around the place until he found the cabin between the trees. “There is a cabin back there, let's ask them about the mine.”
"I don't think anyone lived there for long," Izuku said, from a distance he could see how abandoned it was, perhaps it was in worse condition than Ramshackle Dorm, but Ace ignored him like he had all day and headed to the cabin despite Deuce's yelling at him. How I hate being right, the place was falling apart, cobwebs filled the place giving it a terrifying atmosphere that made him get chills.
“Good night…” Deuce knocked on the door, Izuku rolled his eyes at such nonsense, it was more than obvious that no one was there. “I guess it's abandoned, it's a mess here,” he said, looking around the place.
“I have a web on my face,” Grim coughed.
“Not everything, the very small tables and chairs? “Are they for children?” I ask, looking at the furniture. “One, two, three, four… Seven?! There are many."
“I don't think they were children who lived here,” the rest looked at him. “The dwarves must have lived here, their size matched the furniture, plus the mine is nearby, right?”
“It was probably a lively house when the dwarf mine flourished.”
“Over time, possibly they no longer found stones and left or simply… passed away.”
Die, that word gives you a bad taste in your mouth.
“They did what they had to do, after all, the magic crystals are found inside the coal,” Trappola downplayed the freckled man's words. “For now, let's take a look.”
Izuku nodded and the four of them left the cabin and followed the dirt path that led to a cave not far from there. They walked for a while until they finally saw the abandoned mine that, like the house, was full of moss and some cobwebs.
“Are we-are we going to enter that dark cave?” Grim asked with his hair standing on end.
"Are you scared? Pathetic,” and Ace didn't miss the opportunity to be an idiot.
"That?! No-No-It's not that I'm afraid! You know, get ahead of yourself!”
And so Grim became a torch, Izuku had to be thankful that the raccoon's ears and fire illuminated the path because he felt like he was tripping over some lane. But not everything is easy, it really seemed very peaceful and the calm in a place like that was not free and Izuku knew it well when Deuce stopped walking while looking at the dark cave.
"¡!... ¡Wait!"
“What?” Ae asked in a bad mood.
“Something… is here.”
“Ghiheehee! Our first guests after ten years,” a voice coming from the darkness made them shiver.
“You can feel at home… for all eternity,” a second voice continued revealing its whitish transparent form along with those recognizable hoods that Midoriya managed to identify.
“Oh no, more ghosts,” the freckled man lamented before hearing the coming screams.
Notes:
The first day and Grim is already causing problems for Izuku. At first I thought Ace was a bully being rude, but it's not something our broccoli can't handle.

Chapter Text
Prologue: The Ghost of the Mine
To his surprise, no one shouted.
That made everything more creepy but I couldn't help but notice how his companions were trembling while pretending to be calm.
“This place is also full of ghosts,” Ace resigned when he saw the two figures.
“We don't have time to deal with them one by one, leave them behind,” Deuce seemed to be acting brave but his look told Izuku the opposite.
"Hey you! Let's get out of here! At this rate he will beat us all!” Ace yelled at his partner who turned to look at him indignantly. “To begin with, if you hadn't done something so idiotic, we wouldn't be in this mess.”
“Do you want to talk about who started it all? It was all because you didn't clean anything!” Deuce went from being scared to being angry.
“It all started when the furball burned the statue of the Queen of Hearts.”
And now it was Grim's turn to growl at the orange haired man. “Fuñagh? That’s what you get for making fun of me!”
“H-Hey, t-this is not the time to fight,” he tried to stop them, the two had approached each other, really wanting to fight with each other.
"You! Do you understand the situation at this moment? "We'll all be expelled if we don't return with the magic crystal tomorrow morning!"could be more than debt with the argument of Deuce not wanting to be belying of the institution and end up as a vagabond in a world that does not know.
“That's why… Stop looking at us, it really bothers me.”
“T-Calm down, all three of you,” the presence of those in front of him was undoubtedly terrifying, he had never felt such terror in his life, not even with the mud villain! The freckled man assumed it was due to the magic that came from them since he had felt something similar when Crowley got angry.
The three continued arguing as if there were no tomorrow, their screams echoed in the mine bouncing off the few crystals and diamonds that were in the place, due to the darkness they could hardly be seen but Midoriya was almost sure that if it weren't for It was night, the place was full of colors. He moved as if from his place, he didn't like seeing how they yelled at each other but he couldn't help but walk away, and he cursed himself when he realized that he was doing the same thing as always, walking away from the problems that the students had with each other. , he knew he wouldn't have much luck because he couldn't face them without magic.
For a moment he considered the idea of going to look for the stone alone, but since it was dark and the only source of light was Grim, he had no choice but to stay with the three brawlers in order not to slip and fall. But he had to hold his breath when he felt something out of the ordinary, a presence that didn't let him breathe, his body tensed as he felt all that negative energy coming from the depths of the mine.
“...No... I WILL GIVE... I WILL NOT GIVE THEM TO YOU…”, that distorted voice caused the four to remain silent, shuddering because of that grotesque voice that made the students' hair stand on end.
“That voice?” Ace muttered when he realized they weren't alone.
“STOP… IT'S MINE”
“I think… it's getting closer,” both the duo and the inhabitants of Ramshackle Dorm backed away.
"..... This is mine!"shouted the creature that was seen at the entrance to the nearest cave, causing the four of them to end up screaming in fear and run as quickly as possible to the exit.
"T-THERE IT IS!", everyone shouted as they ran out, Deuce had to hold Izuku's hand so that he wouldn't end up getting lost among the caves that were scattered all over the place, Midoriya wasn't good at sports so Running so fast ended up making him tired quickly but he wouldn't stop because he didn't want to be close to that thing. “What the hell is that thing?” Deuce asked when they stopped a cave away from the exit.
“No one said anything about this!” Grim yelled. “Quickly, let's get out of here!”
“It's so disgusting!” Ace followed but his eyes widened when he realized something. “But that… Didn't he mention a stone?!”
“STONE… one… no… I will give”, the four were more scared when they saw the monster appear again, the four hid among some of the things that were there in the hope that they would not be seen, even Grim had reduced the flames in their ears so that they would not be found.
“Then there really are magic crystals left,” Deuce rejoiced hopefully. The other two teenagers looked at him in disbelief, wondering if he didn't realize the situation they were in.
“I-I-I-Im-impossible, Impossible! I'm a genius, dog I can't beat that thing, you know."
"But we will be expelled without the crystal...I WILL GO!" He tried to leave the hiding place but Midoriya and Trappola pulled him back.
“YOU'RE JOKE, RIGHT?!” Ace yelled in a whisper.
I-It's impossible if you do it alone!” the freckled man tried to stop him.
“I cannot, under any circumstances, be expelled!”
"What would be the point of trying if you ended up hurt or even dead?!" Midoriya asked the blue-haired boy who looked at him in shock. “And I'm telling you once and for all that the death that awaits you will not be as beautiful as mine!”
If he had talked too much. But the situation kept him in a stage of stress that not even his mind was processing what he said or how he acted, and he knew it well when those words came out of his mouth and seeing the pale faces of his companions confirmed that he had said it out loud. high and not in his head. Deuce looked at him with a horror that he had never imagined seeing again in his life, that look reminded him of how Bakugou looked at him for the last time and he certainly didn't like that at all.
"I don't care, I'll do everything I can to get that stone, I don't care if I have to end up hurt to do it, I'll get it!" Izzuku saw the determination in his eyes and sighed, turning to look at Ace who was also leaving. recovering from what the minor had said and then nodded, but his look reflected how distressed he was by the information provided, he knew that at the end of all that he would have to tell them the truth behind his words and about himself.
If they came out alive.
“Good,” he said, sighing. "What is your plan?"
The unknown creature ended up finding them before they knew it, Izuku managed to hold Grim before she ended up crashing into one of the pillars that supported the stones, the last thing they wanted was to be crushed to death. Izuku tried with all his might to prevent that thing from reaching them, he had managed to see the pike it brought with it and that only one blow was enough to kill it.
“Be careful, you have a weapon with you!” he warned his companions. “Try to avoid it, if it hits you we are lost!”
Even if they were at a complete disadvantage, they tried to look for the stone in the surrounding area while the others distracted the monster, although of course, the little magician experience they had was not enough to defeat or scare it away.
“....VaYanSe… LarGuenSE… LaRgO!..”, the creature swung its pike and hit Deuce with all its force, causing him to end up hitting his head on one of the stone walls.
"Spade-Kun!" Midoriya shouted excitedly as he saw some blood falling from the named man's head.
“If you don't have control, it's of no use, serious sir!” Ace reprimanded him, turned to look at the unknown beast and prepared his pen. “And I will stop him!”
And with that he sent a large wave of air that caused both Izuku and Grim to hold on to the pillars so as not to fly away. But that only seemed to make the creature more angry, repeating the same thing he had done with Deuce, then he turned towards the two shelves and began to address them. Grim let out a screech of fear and threw a large fireball at the unknown enemy.
“That didn't work at all!” the two members of the cleaning service were alarmed. Suddenly, behind the monster they managed to see a faint white light that caused Izuku to squint for a moment.
“Something Shiny?”
“Behind that thing… At the end of the tunnel, something is…” Ace continued, although they knew it hadn't been an illusion.
“That light… Is it a magic crystal?”
“...I DON'T KNOW THEM I WILL GIVE THEM…”
“Hey you! Let's get out of here! At this rate he'll beat us all!”
Midoriya turned to the Heartsbuyl Dorm students. “You two… let's run away from here!”
He didn't wait for them to respond, he just took them by the elbows and ran to the exit of the mine, but he still didn't stop, he continued running until his legs couldn't take it anymore. The four of them were catching their breath when they realized they had returned to the cabin.
“We're this far away,” Grim said, catching his breath.
“It hurt!...What the hell was that?” Ace complained. “No one said anything about it!”
“Possibly because they didn't know,” Izuku replied.
“He didn't look like a ghost,” Deuce joined in.
“Seriously, let's give up and get out of here,” Ace suggested, causing the other two teens to look at him. "I'd rather be expelled than fight that thing."
"Wh-...?!... Don't fuck with me...", Deuce no longer seemed like that kind boy he had met hours ago, his posture, his look and even his voice had changed, but there was something in him which made Izzuku retreat until he hid behind one of the trees. He knew that look, it could have been a different color but it was the same, how could he forget the look Katsuki had given him during the last decade of his life? “...I'd rather die than be expelled...There's a magic crystal in front of us, and you want to give up and go home!”
“You talk too much for someone worse at magic than me. If you want to go alone, then go, because I won't,” and clearly Ace was too reckless to not notice the signs that he had a possible bully in front of him.
"Really?", his scream ended up scaring Grim who did not hesitate to float into Midoriya's arms and hide along with the "Then stay there cowering like a damn coward!"
“Me coward? Who exactly are you talking about?”
"He-Hey... Deuce... your character changed a little you know," Grim dared to say, drawing the attention of the blue-haired man who realized that the two missing in the discussion were a little far away watching everything that was happening, but it was Midoriya's look that made his expression change.
“S-Sorry…I lost my composure a little.”
Izuku gulped when he saw that the two were warming up and moved a little closer, although not until he reached her side because he could still feel the tension between the pair. “Can you help me with your magic?”
“As the principal said before, magic is not all-powerful,” Deuce began to explain in a softer voice, the last thing he wanted was for the shortest of the boys to end up running away. “If you can't imagine it, the magic doesn't materialize. “Large-scale agy is complicated and requires a lot of training to use.”
“That's why we have magic schools,” Ace continued. “You have to practice a lot to use magic the way it comes to your mind. Bluntly, you will be wrong if you lose your cool.”
“Everyone has used it anyway,” the freckled man tries to understand in a whisper.
“The things you are good at come instinctively.”
“Anyway, I'll figure out how to beat that thing and come back with the magic crystal.”
"That's why, judging by the incident with the chandelier, you're a complete idiot. You got hit before but now you're going to solve it?" he asked, mockingly, from the bottom of his heart. “You're going to end up the same.”
"What did you say?! You too!"
“They're going to start again, you know…” Grim murmured, exhausted, even as he was getting tired of so many fights. The screams began again causing Izuku to begin to get tired of their fighting and Grim knew it well when he began to shake and frown, for a moment he trembled at the image before him.
“YOU BOTH SHUT UP!” he shouted with all his might, making the other three stop.
"You raised your voice too much all of a sudden. What's wrong?" Grim asked him, somewhat fearful of the freckled man's reaction.
“None of you could do anything right!”
“B-But what exactly do we have to do?” Deuce asked.
“We have to come up with an appropriate strategy,” he crossed his arms, letting the other three understand that his decision had been made and there was no turning back.
"Strategy? "You mean get along and work together?" Ace asked with his typical arrogant smile. “Ha! What's that? What a fool you have no problem saying stupid things with a serious face..."
“I agree,” Deuce accepted more calmly. “There is no way I will be working together with a loser.”
"But...I feel like it's silly to be expelled on the first day of school," Grim couldn't contain his comment, causing Ace to become alarmed.
"That's not cool at all," he shook his head, Izuku didn't want to be expelled either, in fact this would be the first time something like that would happen to him, although the threat was already known to no institution that had expelled him but now they don't know. He found himself in his world and everything in that place was different and Crowley wouldn't mind doing it even knowing that he had nothing and no one to turn to.
"I understand. We just have to do it, right? We will do it,” Ace gave up and turned to look at the green-haired man. "So what's your plan?"
And with that a wave of murmurs came out of Izuku's mouth and surprised the others, with how little they had lived with him they had never seen him talk so much, especially very fast to the point that they didn't understand what he was talking about, until now. He had been very quiet. After a few moments, Midoriya approached the other two closer and began to explain the plan. They were very surprised that the youngest would take into account the advantages and disadvantages of his opponent as well as his magic in a quick way, something that only some prodigies can do. they could do it.
For a moment they wondered if Izuku really didn't have magic.
The four headed back towards the mine, their faces were full of determination but nervousness still ran through their bodies.
“Hey…” Grim called. “Do you really think it will go as planned? I-I'm scared-...just nervous, you know.”
“I'm not sure,” Midoriya admitted. “We just have to accept our fate.”
“You're too rigid, just go with the flow,” Ace told him. “Okay, let's get this over with!”
The four of them got into position. Grim looked at the entrance of the mine with some fear and then turned to see the freckled man who nodded, giving him the confidence he needed. “Hey, monster! W-This way you know!”
Just as Izuku had predicted, the monster came out of the mine in search of him. Everyone held their breath when they saw him thanks to the moonlight, he was dressed in old red clothes, brown pants and he had no feet; Instead of having a head, it had what appeared to be a circular bottle containing a thick dark liquid that fell through the crack in the glass. “...GET AWAY!...”
“Gha! Here it comes!”
Izuku came out of his hiding place for a moment, looking at the creature. “This way, monster!”
The named one turned in his direction.“...THERE IS... A THIEF HERE... I WILL NOT GIVE IT... MINE... IT'S MINE!..”
He raised his pike and in a single movement tried to hit the freckled man, but he moved causing the pike to hit the ground, leaving a large crack.
“That blow is a knockout if it hits you!”
“Take him as far away from the cave!” Izuku told him, getting up and running with Grim towards where the second phase of the plan was supposed to begin.
"...GO... LEAVE..."
“It's quite far from the cave now,” Grim warned. Izuku nodded and turned to see the remaining two who were hiding, giving them the sign.
“Ok, leave it to me,” Ace replied. “Come on, extra big storm!”
As its name indicated, that storm removed all the trees in that area, the wind surrounded the creature, disorienting it for a moment but it was still not enough.
“Also the special fire of the incredible Grim!”, and with that a large ball of fire came out of his jaws. The ink monstrosity, as Izuku was beginning to call it, let out a loud scream of agony.
"What about that? He can even fan Grim’s sleazy flames with that of an inferno!”
And there was never a lack of Ace's bad comment.
“It's not bad quality! Seriously, every word that comes out of your mouth bothers me!”
“The monster was trapped in the fire!”
On the other hand, Deuce was hiding behind one of the large stones that surrounded the mine, his magic pen pointing above the ink monster. Izuku had trusted him enough to entrust him with such an action, knowing that it might not turn out as expected. It was planned.
"...Calm down... Aim well... The biggest thing... the most state... what I know... Come out, cauldron!", the last thing he heard after his own scream was the tremendous blow he gave to the creature that ended up crashing. against the floor.
"Did! “They did everything well!” Grim celebrated. Hey look! The monster looks flat as a pancake just like Ace before!”
“You don't have to mention that again,” the one mentioned was quick to shut him up. “God, today is not my day.”
“Let's go look for the magic crystal while that thing can't move.” And with that the four of them entered the mine in search of the crystal without realizing what was happening behind their backs. They went through several of the tunnels but did not find the light that almost blinded them a few hours ago. It wasn't until Deuce managed to find the path he had previously taken that they found him.
"There is! A magic crystal!”
Outside the mine the beast did not seem very happy that its crystal was stolen so it stirred vigorously.“... GET YOUR HANDS OFF... OFF!...”
"Shit! “That thing is lifting the fishing ground!”
“Hey, Deuce! Throw something heavier!”
“Anything heavier? Come out, cauldron!", and that's how three more cauldrons crushed the creature. Izuku didn't know whether to laugh or cry because his companion didn't know what else to throw at him besides cauldrons.
“You…don't you have anything but cauldrons in your repertoire?” Ace asked, bewildered.
"Be quiet! I’m pretty nervous already!”
Girl continued with her thing by launching a burst of fire at the rock that prevented the magic stone from being removed. “We have the magic crystal. Let's go at once, you know.”
"Understood."
And with that they ran to the exit, avoiding signs and railroad tracks. When they left the mine they headed towards the cabin and took a break before going to the portal that would take them back. But a noise alerted them, when they turned around they saw an image that made their blood run cold.
"Are you kidding! He took off all those things and is coming for us?!” Ace couldn't believe his eyes.
“...-SELL IT... GIVE IT BACK!..."
"Curse! At this rate he will catch up with us!”
"This week! Now is the time,” the freckled man told them, looking at the monster, his movements were no longer as coordinated as at first, he seemed to be disoriented and even hurt.
“Okay! Let's finish it! Don't disappoint me, serious sir!"
"You too!"
“I will show my true power, you know!”
And with that the three attacked at the same time. It was difficult, there was no doubt, but between the three of them, using their magic and Izuku's little physical resistance, they managed to defeat the mine monster. But even so, the four of them ended up collapsing on the floor from exhaustion, it had been a very long night and with those last attacks they had used up their magical energy.
“Did we?” Ace asked in surprise.
"We won! “We really won, you know!” Grim cheered breathlessly.
“Very good!” Spade dropped onto the grass of happiness followed by Ace and Grim.
“Our victory! High five, you know!”
Izuku couldn't help but look at them in surprise, showing a small smile. “They're getting along!”
“No… it's nothing like that!” Deuce tried to deny but to Midoriya it was more than clear that those three had already become friends without knowing it.
“That's right, that's right. Can you stop saying weird things?” Ace told him. “I guess making excuses is pretty silly. I hate to admit it, but…we won thanks to your plan, I think…”
“True,” Spade admitted. “We got the magic crystal because you didn't give sensible instructions. “We will be able to avoid our expulsion with this,” he said, showing the stone. “I am so relieved.”
“I'm glad everyone is okay.”
“Yes, yes, we are all relieved. I’m seriously worn out and battered, let’s go home already.”
“I'm starving from using so much magic,” Grim used to say although Izuku knew he was a glutton. "...?... What's that?"
There among the grass was a black stone, its color and essence did not agree with Izuku, which is why he had not approached it at all. “The remains of that monster, I think?” Deuce replied. “A magic crystal? No, but… I have never seen a pitch black like coal.”
Grim began to sniff the object with great curiosity. “Somehow, this…smells really good…”
“Are you kidding?!” Ace looked disgusted at the idea.
“It has to be candy that the monster was hiding! Uhhhhhh, I can't contain myself, Thanks for the food!~”, and with that he swallowed it.
“Did you really eat it?!” Midoriya asked in disbelief.
“Hey, are you okay?” Deuce asked when Grim seemed to choke.
“That's why you shouldn't eat things off the ground.”
“Delicious!” the raccoon shouted, disconcerting everyone. “He has a lot of time but he is also very rich. With an aromatic sweetness that blooms inside my mouth Like an entire field of flowers in my mouth!"
“Grim, I don't think that's true,” said the freckled man, making a face of displeasure.
Ace almost couldn't contain the urge to vomit. “Real monsters have different tastes than ours.”
"It's possible... but before that... Most people wouldn't even put a suspicious thing in their mouth without thinking about it."
“Monsters are omnivores…” Izuku commented, causing his companions to look at him in bewilderment.
“Ahahahah! Tasty, tasty,” the cat celebrated.
“Grim, are you really okay?” Izuku asked, not entirely okay with Grim eating things off the ground without really knowing what it was.
“Don't worry my stomach is weak like yours.”
“Seriously… Don't come dragging and crying when you get sick further late”, I tell you Mapache trap.
“Now, let's change course, let's take the magic crystal to the director,” Deuce followed.
“I don't know what time it is but…, I guess it's almost dawn,” Midoriya murmured, looking at the sky, the moon had moved quite a bit since the last time he looked up.
“Eh!?” the adult exclaimed when he saw them appear in the shadow mirror room. He could see how unkempt, abused and dirty they were. Their faces were full of dirt and some blood stains were found on some parts of their body. “Did they really go to the dwarf mine to find the magic crystal?” His disbelief was so great that the quartet looked at him in bewilderment. “Well… I never really thought they would go for it… And also that they would come back with the magic crystal in hand,” he said, looking at Deuce who was holding the object very tightly as if he was afraid it would disappear. “Just when you complete the paperwork for your expulsion.”
"That?! What an unhappy guy!” Grim mentioned, each and every one of the youths looked at him with a frown. “While we were fighting a crazed monster!”
"A monster?"
“A monster appeared in the mine,” Ace confirmed. “It was disgusting and crazy, it was horrible!”
“Could you explain to me in more detail?” Crowley asked them. Izuku nodded and the older man motioned for them to follow him. They walked through several hallways and climbed several stairs to what seemed to be one of the large towers of the school, all to reach a room with floating portraits of very recognizable characters. The office was very spacious and the color purple seemed to be my favorite. of Crowley since everything there was that color in different tones. The director allowed them to sit in the chairs in front of his desk, the four of them ended up telling him everything that had happened, from their trip to the mine and what they had found in the cabin, as well as joining forces to overthrow the monster. “A mysterious monster that lived in the coal mine and the four of you worked together to defeat it and bring back a magic crystal?”
"And."
“No… It's not like we work together… like he said,” Ace tried to excuse himself, it was still difficult for him to accept reality.
“It was more that our goals were similar.”
“Work as a team,” Izuku told them as he saw how the two students tried to make excuses to avoid damaging their pride. A sound made them stop talking, they looked at the cause of that unfortunate sound, the director was hunched over his desk while holding his head with his eyes closed, sobs were coming out of his mouth and tears were visible even with the mask on.
“What's wrong with this one? "Why does an adult burst into tears?" Grim asked when he saw the human cry.
“In all these years that I have been principal… students of Night Raven College… So that, on their first day, they go hand in hand to face and defeat an enemy!”
"That?! "Don't hold hands with them!" Deuce yelled at him.
“It's a saying Spade-Kun,” Izuku couldn't help but let out a small chuckle in his face.
“I would never do that, what a pig! By the way, director, how old are you?” Ace asked him, puzzled when he mentioned the above.
“I am overwhelmed with emotion! This incident confirms it,” the man seemed as overwhelmed as his students a few hours ago when Izuku blurted out his death. “Your Izuku, you certainly have talent as a beast tamer!”
“Beast tamer?” asked the freckled man. “That's what I was talking about last night, right?”
“The students of Night Raven College are budding wizards named here by the mirror of shadows. However, when they are of a higher class, it makes them proud and selfish people who do not even have the slightest idea of working with others, making many of them selfish and self-centered.
“It's really not saying anything good, you know.”
“You can't use magic,” that phrase hurt the green-haired man. “But… Maybe… precisely because you can't use magic means that you could give instructions to the magicians and make them cooperate. Maybe that mediocrity is exactly what this school needs right now!” Izuku really didn't know whether to be flattered or offended. .
“He's not saying anything good, is he?” Ace was in the same circumstances as Grim.
“Izuku, I have no doubt… that your existence is essential to the future of this academy. "That's what my senses as an educator say," the aforementioned now knew that all of this was an exaggeration or a joke in very bad taste. “Young Trappola, young Spade along with rescinding your expulsion,” he said to the two from Heartsbyul and then turned to the freckled man. “...You... You have the requirements to attend Night Raven College as a student!”
“...EHHHH?!...”, everyone shouted in surp rise, the freckled man couldn't believe what the adult on the other side of the desk had said, was he being serious? Would you let him study at school? But he didn't have magic! That was supposed to be against the rules and that's why they wanted to kick him out in the first place. “Even though I don't use magic?!” He had to be sure of what he had heard wrong.
“Yes, because I am extremely kind. But there is a condition,” Izuku almost fell to the floor in disappointment, but he must have imagined something like that, there was always a condition. “You can't use magic, becoming a magician is out of the question. You probably won't be able to complete all your lessons because of that… young Grim,” at his appointment the creature looked at the teacher intrigued. “You have shown me that you have enough talent to become a magician. Therefore, I will allow you two to enroll together, as a single student at Night Raven College,” Can that be done? the four now students asked themselves.
“Me too…” Grim seemed about to burst into tears, the thick tears he held in his eyes confirmed it to Izuku. “Not maintenance, but as a student?”
“Yes~...But!...Never let an incident like yesterday happen! We have a deal?"
Grim was still in a state of shock, processing all the information he had been given in less than a rooster's crow; Midoriya knew that it would be difficult to control it from now on, but that threat from Crowley seemed to have an effect because the small animal only nodded in agreement with the instruction.
“That's great Grim! "Now you're a student like you wanted," Izuku congratulated him with a small smile that looked more like a grimace, he was still getting used to showing his emotions more although he wasn't quite ready to do it naturally. For his part, Grim was celebrating the great victory he had obtained.
"Well then... The status symbol as a student at Night Raven College is a magical crystal," the eldest took out a small navy blue crystal from one of the drawers, it looked very similar to the feathers that Ace and Deuce used to do magic. . "I'll give it to you, Grim-kun."
“A magic crystal?!”
“It's the norm for students to have magic crystals in the shape of a magic pen, but... you wouldn't be able to grab it with your paws, right? It's a special custom, pay attention to even the smallest details! “Aren’t I too kind?!”
But his students ignored him, they were more focused watching Grim celebrate. He jumped between the desk and flew above the other three while singing a little song that Izuku didn't understand at all.
“You're not listening to what we discussed, are you?” the older man asked the freckled man, who only shook his head. “Did you understand?”
"Yes sir."
“As you can see, Grim-kun is not used to human society, it is up to you to take the reins and supervise to avoid causing more problems!” Izuku had no idea how someone like him could tame someone like Grim but I would have to try to avoid being expelled.
“Ahahaha! Incredible!” Ace did not hold back in congratulating him. "Look at you! You just started school, and… Are you perfect already?”
"I see. It’s just the two of you in your dorm… So if you were tasked with supervising Grim, that makes you a dorm prefect,” Deuce commented.
"Prefect? From Ramshackle Dorm?” the freckled man asked incredulously. That place was anything but a bedroom, it looked more like a warehouse where they were going to throw away all the trash that no one wanted.
“Isn't that unheard of? So there is a student prefect who cannot use magic.”
“Alright, that's great, a prefect who can't use magic!”
“W-Well, then I will give my all to be worthy of that position.”
“Do your best, perfect,” Trappola ruffled the shorter man's uncontrollable green hair.
“I see a prefect…heh,” Crowley seemed to think a lot about the position in which the minor now found himself. "I have a job application and having a title like that makes it more convenient... Wonderful!" He took another object from one of the drawers of his desk, it was similar to those old cameras that they used before during the pre-Quirk era, it had different colors but what stood out the most was the mouse shape around the lens. “Young prefect… I trust you with this!”
"A camera?"
“This is a ghost chamber.”
"Ghost?"
“I think my grandmother told me about it. “It’s a super ancient magic tool right?”
"Isn't he super old...!", the adult seemed very offended by what the boy with the heart said. "It's true. This may have been invented during the time of your grandmother or great-grandmother. There is a very special spell about this camera. It captures not only the objects, but also a part of their soul.”
“A part of his soul?” Spade asked, bewildered.
“We call this, Memory: A fragment of memory. Also, the most interesting part of this magical camera is that the souls of the photographer and the photographed connect deeply, and the memory of the photo comes jumping to you!”
“Are they coming jumping?”
“It depends on how close the subject and t he photographer are. The image could move like a video or it can give the photo memory a life of its own. Very interesting, right?”, Midoriya couldn't deny how amazing that sounded.
“Give life to the photo? It's like ghost photography!” Deuce still didn't understand the meaning of the camera's name.
“Yes… That's why it's called a ghost camera,” and the director wasn't all that surprised by his oversight. “They say it was made before the era of videos for when people wanted to leave vivid memories. Young Spade is right. In the past, people screamed in terror: “ghosts!” Surprised when the memory surfaced. “They were paralyzed with fear at the thought of taking a photo with this camera.”
Crowley seemed amused at the memory.
“A camera to drive people crazy,” Ace admitted without imagining that his grandmother was one of those people who panicked.
“Young prefect. Please take photos of Grim-kun and the other students to leave many memories of their lives in this academy.
“He takes a lot of great photos of me, you know!” I definitely wouldn't give him the luxury of taking photos of him all the time.
“Especially, make sure you get memories when someone steps out of line,” that made Izuku stop smiling, he looked at the older man carefully, those golden eyes told him more than words, as if Dire Crowley knew perfectly well what had happened to him. to Midoriya before arriving at Twisted Wonderland and that scared him a lot. “It's the most appropriate way to inform me, right?”
"S-Si"
“Keep an eye on your surroundings and take souvenirs as a prefect. To generously give you a rare item that can be used by non-mages… My kindness knows no bounds! "Right?!", the older man exclaimed, but Izuku knew that this was more than fake for some reason.
"Thank you so much!"
“Now, it's so late. Let's save the detailed conversation for tomorrow," he said, looking at the clock, it was early morning, it was past twelve at night and they were still awake knowing that in a few hours they would have classes. “Everyone go back to your dorms.”
“Then excuse our intrusion,” the four of them got up from their seats and headed for the exit, then disappeared through the hallways.
Crowley smiled until he could no longer see them, his calculating eyes staring at the spot where the freckled man had previously sat. He didn't know for sure how much he had understood him but it was clear that the young man was something more than what was seen, he could see the potential he had, but Midoriya himself seemed to lock himself inside a cage and didn't let his true colors come out. .
Colors that could possibly be wonderful as well as dangerous.
The quartet was walking through the hallways trying to get to the main street to go to their bedrooms, fatigue was taking its toll on them as their movements became slower and slower.
"...Expulsion rescinded...", the one with the pike sighed in relief.
“Oh, my, my.”
Grim seemed to be the only one with energy in the group. “Starting tomorrow I will start as a student of Night Raven College, you know, I will leave you all in the dust and take first place, you know!”
“You talk big for someone who is only half a student…”
“I already want to see it in the written exams,” Midoriya said almost mockingly.
“Well anyway, it's okay right?”
“We will be classmates tomorrow. Prefect and Grim”
“I wonder if it will go well…I hope we get along!”
“Saying that again… It's embarrassing, can you not say it?” Ace seemed embarrassed at the minor's small bow.
“It's true, even if we don't want to, we'll see each other every day,” Deuce said. “I'm even in Heartsbyul with this idiot.”
“Thinking about seeing your serious face every day …no, thank you…”
“That's also my absent line Ace.”
“Yes, yes, Deuce almost crying,” he walked past Midoriya away from the group. “Well, see you tomorrow, prefect.”
“Those two… are going to be a big problem,” Izuku whispered.
“Those guys can make a good combo, you know,” Gri said, looking at the pair that was walking away from them. “They're the type, they fight because they're so close, Now! "We better go back to the bedroom. Tomorrow we won't be cleaning anymore!" the raccoon reminded him. “Finally…finally… Our brilliant life at the Night Raven College academy begins, you know!”
The green-haired man sighed tiredly, knowing that his stay in that world would turn his life upside down...
Notes:
Sorry for the delay, I missed a lot this weekend but the fourth part of the prologue is already published. I am very excited about what I am going to present in the next chapter to begin the next part of the story.
When I saw that part of Crowley I wanted to punch him. But Izuku has officially become a member of Night Raven College, I wonder what it will be like from now on, the truth is I find it a little difficult to give Izuku dialogues since in the game the MC doesn't speak only from time to time and I have to guide myself more by thoughts and the few dialogues that people have and he himself has from time to time but I will try to put more into it.
Chapter 5: Prologue: Welcome to Twisted Wonderland
Notes:
English is not my native language so if you see something that doesn't add up you can let me know.

Chapter Text
Prologue: Welcome to Twisted Wonderland
They are full of happy moments and goals that can be fulfilled in the future or the lives of all those who can appreciate them on track.
Although that is not your case.
Memories are a nightmare that has no end.
His first memories are happy.
He and his friends are playing in the park near their houses, playing investigative, catch, hide and seek, heroes and villains. Everyone having fun on their childhood adventures.
He then sees himself at home having dinner with his family and his friend while they talk about the heroes they had seen since the old meeting or on the way home.
The innocence of their souls.
Then he sees himself in kindergarten. Everyone is having fun while doing the activities that the teacher gave them, drawing what they want to be when they grow up. That was something easy for everyone. His hands start sweating and then sparks fly.
His Quirk appeared.
Everyone around him is surprised and celebrates that he got it, even his best friend gives him his best smile, congratulating him.
From there everything starts to collapse.
With each passing day, most of his companions are accessing their Quirks, all but one. At first he didn't care, he had always known that he wouldn't have a big quirk like the others because of his parents but there was also the option of some mutation. But still, everyone had fun in their games until the day came when everything changed.
Izuku Midoriya is a Quirkless.
He didn't find out until a few days later when the teacher explained that there were some people who didn't have a Quirk and that Izuku, his friend, didn't have one.
Everyone made fun of him, including him. The two had to bet who would be the most powerful and surpass All Might. But since Izuku didn't have a Quirk, he was disqualified. If only he had known that that insignificant and childish bet had long been forgotten by the green-haired man.
But there was something I would never forget about that day...
His face and gaze were unreadable as if his soul had been sucked out.
Not having a Quirk, everything changed around him, while he was praised for his quirk, Midoriya was punished and blamed for insignificant things as if he had no right to do them. At first he thought he deserved it, his teachers in elementary school had told them about the pre-Quirk era and what non-quirks, everyone knew, had done that on purpose to harm the freckled boy. Many closed-minded people like him took it very badly and the beatings and insults began.
But the freckled man stood firm in the face of all that.
But he still seemed affected...
When they turned ten, the physical attacks and discrimination increased, all the boys their age were aware of what Midoriya was and what he meant so they Deku He was the center of ridicule and abuse. He was strong, his quirk was strong and he deserved those praises, he was the best, he would be number one, but...
But it wasn't until that incident in the forest, when he fell from that log into the water that he realized something. Something that I couldn't overcome, not even by dying and being reborn...
Midoriya's heart...
For Izuku Midoriya it was almost impossible to hate someone, no matter how much they made his life hell, the freckled man would always call him by that nickname even though they had not spoken for years or shared things like in the past, he always considered him a friend. . The green-haired man would never hesitate to help anyone who needed help, despite how they were with him, like on that occasion...
He was the only one who came down from that great place to help him while the others extras They stayed upstairs making fun...
"Are you OK?", Midoriya had asked him that time.
He could be strong, he could always be right, he would always have a powerful Quirk… but he would never have the heroic heart that Izuku had. Anger overcame him.
He made his life hell, no matter how hard he tried, something about the green-haired man would remind him of All Might.
Always so friendly. Always so positive despite everything they put you through, always refusing to give up his dream of being a hero. Something inside him knew he would never beat him, no matter how hard he tried to be number one. Izuku would always be ahead of him.
Since the freckled man unknowingly had what Katsuki Bakugou lacked.
No one would feel that way with someone so arrogant and so bad-tempered, he just had to look at Endeavor to realize that he was only in the number two position only because of his achievements towards the community, not because he was kind-hearted. That's why he would never surpass All Might.
If only Izuku had a Quirk, he would beat him no matter what...
Katsuki had the strength and tenacity of a hero like Endeavor.
But Izuku shined and had the heart of a hero like All Might.
It was very obvious that if things had been different from the beginning, who would be the number one hero.
Maybe that's why she started hating him from the beginning.
Then there was the fact that the nerd turned out to be just that from the beginning… a nerd. He only had to look at his analysis notebooks to know that Izuku had a good head on his shoulders and that his low grades were only due to the discrimination he received from teachers. He could be sure that the freckled boy could take a certification exam and pass one hundred percent if he put his mind to it, but social differences had to be present at all times, it didn't matter if the green-haired boy's answers were the same as his own, the freckled boy always I would do poorly on exams and activities.
And now his memories were wrapped up in that particular day.
Classes passed very calmly in his opinion. The nerd had not murmured anything since he had arrived in the classroom besides the fact that his notebook had not been taken out of his backpack at any time. Katsuki turned to look at him with exasperation as he finished the activity they were doing, his face was paler than normal as if he were sick, the dark and very marked dark circles under his eyes gave him to understand that he had not slept in days possibly since They met that villain from the mud, his hair was more messy than usual and he had lost it as well as his eyes, which before shone as if they were emeralds, were now only a sad grayish-green color, the uniform was also misaligned. , Bakugou could see how old it was even if it was worn out, he could see the patches they used to repair the long cuts.
But what made him most impatient was his very obvious disappointment.
That wasn't the Deku who always smiled for no reason.
He seemed more like an imposter than anything else.
But he didn't care, as long as it didn't interfere with his change to being the best.
First error…
If only I had known what would happen at departure time.
In the last class Midoriya had stayed until last like every day. Everyone was eager to return home or go with their friends to different places, it was Friday and no one really wanted to do their homework at that time. Bakugou and his entourage left the room without immortals anything, as if they were the kings of the place without noticing how the green-haired boy was walking in the opposite direction to the exit.
Second error…
Most of the boys were at the entrance when something caught their attention. The terrified scream of his classmate followed by a dull and abnormal thud made the blonde turn around only to find that image that would haunt him until the end of his days. There in the middle of the front yard was the body of the freckled man, surrounded by that large stain of blood that was constantly draining from his head, his arms were extended and his bangs covered his eyes. The blood came out of his mouth in a trickle and ran down his cheek until it fell to the ground. He didn't know when or how but he was no longer at the entrance, all of his zero had gotten close enough to crouch next to him and try to keep him awake.
He felt so afraid.
A fear I had never experienced.
She still saw him breathing but each time it was so weak that panic took over her body.
“Hey! "Don't fall asleep!" the blonde shouted at him, desperate, he kept shaking him and shouting at him, he was terrified, never in his life did he expect to see something like that. He did not expect Izuku to actually follow his advice to jump off the roof, he knew that the minor was stubborn and faithful to his beliefs and dreams, so it was difficult for him to understand why the green-haired boy easily gave in to his words. “Hey, Deku! Izuku! Zuzu!”
Do you want a new opportunity?
But she didn't get any reaction from him at any time, she kept shaking him as best she could trying to wake him up when she saw his eyes close. “Don't die, we still have to become heroes together! Come on Zuzu! You can't do this to Auntie! Don't leave her! Do not leave Me!"
He had said it, after a decade he had said that nickname with which they began their friendship. The one I used before I learned to read Kanji and started calling it Deku, The sound of sirens was present as he desperately clung to the now corpse of his former friend.
For a moment he felt like all the air was leaving his lungs as the paramedics pulled him away from him and took him away. He was going to follow them until something made him stop, that familiar sound that made him nauseous. They were laughing.
The damn extras were laughing at their classmate's death. His blood boiled with anger.
"They saw that?! Deku will finally stop causing trouble!”
"It was time!"
“It was taking a while.”
And more things came to their ears that seemed to burn every time something new came out of those mouths. His body trembled at the audacity of his classmates and teachers, his anger, which he actually had a lot of, seemed ready to explode, literally, but his mind was still engrossed in Izuku bleeding to death on the floor. He got up from the floor and, ignoring the calls of the others, headed towards the nearest hospital, where, with luck, Midoriya would be treated.
He spent hours in the waiting room, since he was a minor he couldn't do much no matter how much he refuted and complained, his parents were busy and Izuku's mother, Inko, was on the way. The doctors just stared at him from the other hallway while whispering among themselves, that had given him a bad feeling when they let out a light giggle as if they were amused by the young blonde's concern.
But as soon as Midoriya's mother arrived, their faces changed to more professional ones, almost causing a snort from Katsuki who did not hesitate to approach to prevent him from falling to the ground when they began to give his son's diagnosis.
"Mrs. Midoriya, I'm sorry to tell you this news, but your son is dead..."
Those words stuck in the hearts of the two present. The short woman sank to her knees on the ground while thick tears fell like a waterfall from her eyes. His baby, his son, and his Izuku had died. “W-What happened?” she asked in a flood of tears, her voice was broken and her entire body was shaking.
“She committed suicide”, the doctor's attitude didn't help much in that situation either, it seemed as if he was tired of the mother's cries. “You shouldn't be surprised, ma'am. It was very likely that it would happen.”
“W-What do you mean by that?” the woman questioned between hiccups.
“Your son didn't have a Quirk, so according to surveys, he was at the age of redemption.”
“Redemption?” the teenager and the woman asked, the doctor just nodded his head as if it were very obvious.
"Already knows. "Quirkless people commit suicide between the ages of fourteen and sixteen because they have accepted their role in society: none," his cheeky smile reminded him of his own every time he opened his stupid mouth to insult the freckled man, something about him. he stirred. “ Thatkind of people don’t live long since they have nowhere to belong.”
Those words made him reason.
How many times had he said the same thing to Izuku?
There had been so many that I would have lost count the first week.
Guilt eats you up inside...
Something stirred inside him, something... uncomfortable. Was that what Izuku felt every time he said those words? It had to be that, because sadness and rejection ran through his entire body as if it were him to whom those words were dedicated. She watched as her aunt, if she could continue calling her that, was arguing with the doctor, the tears had been left behind at the moment the specialist had pronounced those words, now she was red with anger and her eyes did not show that kindness to the one. which I was used to since I was little.
It was completely different.
And Izuku had inherited that trait from her.
Undoubtedly.
On many occasions I saw him manifest that behavior that was so unpacifistic and not at all accommodating to others. Unlike what was mentioned previously, Midoriya rarely showed that dark side that he seemed to contain deep in his heart and that on several occasions ended up causing him a lot of problems because he did not know how to deal with that type of situation without being a member. from his family, he could tolerate his old lady, but even knowing how angry Mitsuki Bakugou was, what Midoriya showed was something out of hell itself.
Without a doubt, the Midoriyas were a box full of surprises.
I walk through the streets with my mind full of memories. In the end they had kicked him out of the hospital because he had nothing to do with the deceased. He clucked his mouth as he remembered the audacity of the nurses when they openly mocked the death of the green-haired teenager, the look on the faces of the doctors every time they mentioned him, as if the freckled man was worthless, but who was he to talk about who? Was he useless?
Izuku wasn't useless at all, that's for sure. In any case, he was useless for not having realized the reality in time.
He had been so blind that he forgot about his friend.
Do you want to see it?
It took ten years before he realized that Izuku Midoriya never put him down or would put him down, he just wanted his friend to know that he would be a great hero one day.
What a great hero he was going to be, he had made his childhood friend commit suicide.
Remorse would devour him until the end of his days.
You can do it if you want...
Maybe that's why he ended up skipping dinner and started to steal the photo album that his mother had on one of the shelves in the living room. She spent almost the entire night looking at all the photos she had with the freckled boy remembering those moments, how they met as babies, their birthdays, the Christmases they spent together, the first days of school and even when they went out to play in the park while being supervised. for their mothers, surprisingly there were also photos of their graduations, it always made it easier to take photos together.
Izuku smiling nervously at a grumpy Katsuki.
Like a child, cling to the hope of seeing him again...
Midoriya seemed to be as battered as usual even though he tried to hide the bruises under his uniform. His nervous smile was clearly fake but if it weren't for the fact that Bakugou knew him well he wouldn't know it from a real one, but his eyes, those shining emeralds that shone every time the sun touched them had faded, leaving a depressing and empty color.
He let out a sad smile along with a few tears, that had been the last photo in the album, the last one they took a table before all that happened. He snuggled up between his sheets hugging that photo album.
I can guide you to that happiness…
His eyelids became heavy, causing fatigue to gradually win the hard battle it had provoked during the day.
You'll find it…
He looked around, the large living room in which he had woken up was not his room at all, the walls were a light color and the decorations seemed to have come out of some tale of castles and dragons because of that shield that adorned above the fireplace. He looked at the large mirror in front of him, that hand was tentatively peeking out before him.
Take my hand and never let go...
His body moved on its own as if the threads controlled it. His hand took the opposite one without hesitation, not caring that it had gone through the glass that separated them. His eyes closed again, letting himself be carried away by that glow that left him almost blinded, waiting for that warm voice to guide him along the path to Izuku.
I will make sure that you two...
In this world...
And in the other...
Have a happy ending...
Welcome to the Villains’ World
Notes:
We reached the last part of the prologue, what did you think? Did I miss a bit?
I had been planning a lot to do this part to tell the truth, I wasn't entirely sure whether to do it or not.Having another point of view gave me confidence to do it. I think that both Katsuki and Izuku's characters are very complex considering that in MHA they paint bullying as something temporary, it is to a certain extent but they don't tell you much about it even though it is the protagonist, They just say that he was harassed and that's it.
With this part I want to understand how the different points of view of a victim and perpetrator can be, such as Izuku and Katsuki respectively.
