“Mama? Do you love me?” 4-year-old Izuku asked. He had just received the news that he was Quirkless. He just wanted his Mama to say that she did love him, no matter what, but Inko just stared at him blank-faced.
Izuku wanted her to say she did. He needed her to. She often ignored him and didn’t show she loved him, but it was his mama. Of course, she would love him!
“Izuku, honey, of course, I don’t love you. You’re Quirkless.” Inko’s voice was sickeningly sweet, but her face held no expression.
Izuku looked at her, shocked. “Mama, if I get a quirk, will you love me?” Poor, young, naïve Izuku asked, just wanting his mother’s love, hoping if he had a Quirk she would love him.
Izuku needed a Quirk. It would make everything better. He just wanted to make his mama love him; having a Quirk could do that, right? He’d just have to work hard to get one! He had once read that late-bloomers could get their Quirk up until they were 10! Maybe he was one? Maybe he just had to wait until he was 10 so his mama would love him.?
“Oh, Izuku. I never have and never will love you,” she said in her same sickeningly sweet voice.
Izuku looked at her, fighting off the tears he knew were coming. He nodded slowly; his mama didn’t love him and wouldn’t even if he had a Quirk… He had to ask her one more question: “Mama, would you like me to leave?”
Inko looked at him with a blank face till the whisper of a smile graced her face. “Oh, Izuku. It would make me so happy if you left!”
This was the first time little Izuku had ever seen his mama show emotion. He felt determined now. He was gonna make his mama happy.
He’ll still try and get a quirk. Once he gets one maybe he can come back and his mama will love him, he just has to hold off until then! He’s gonna do his best to get a quirk and make his mama love him! It’ll be the best quirk out there she’ll love him them!

Izuku packed his bag. Packing what a little 4-year-old would think would be useful. He grabbed his All Might plushy, his toothbrush and toothpaste, his All Might onesie, and his notebook. Luckily, it all fit into his All Might backpack. He was leaving; his mama was going to be so happy!
“Mama! I’m leaving. I love you!” Izuku left. His mom didn’t reply – not that he expected her to. He felt content with this. His mama was going to be happy now.

Izuku wandered the streets. His stomach was starting to make grumbling noises. He wanted food. He walked around, hoping to find something. It was getting late and he was getting sleepy.
He soon found an alley behind a restaurant with a trash can. He found a half-eaten burger and started scarfing it down. He wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings, and so didn’t notice a person crawl up behind him. They were hungry, too. And they had a knife. They stabbed poor little Izuku and took his food.
Izuku felt his body growing cold. He felt weak and tired. But it was okay! His mama was happy because he wasn’t around.
Izuku closed his eyes slowly, feeling sleepy. Suddenly, he heard something.
“Hello, child. Would you like me to patch you up?” Izuku was too tired to speak but slowly nodded. The man used his Quirk. Izuku began to feel better. He was still hungry, but not as cold or tired anymore.
Izuku looked at the man now. He was really big and had white hair. “Thank you, mister! Can I do something for you, now?”
Izuku wanted to replay the kind man. He had saved him like a hero! The man must be a hero! He does whatever the hero asks to repay him.
The man seemed to ponder for a moment. “Well… You can help me by letting me give you a Quirk.” Izuku looked at the man in awe. That wasn’t possible. But the man said it was, and he had saved Izuku, so he had to at least let the man try to repay him.

A portal opened up in front of the man and Izuku. The man took him through it. For a second, he felt like he was floating. Then they landed on the ground again.
Izuku was wobbly, but the man steadied him. He looked around. They were in a messy apartment, and there was another boy there: he had messy, light blue hair and red eyes; he had scars on his neck and eyes. “This is Tomura Shigaraki, he will be your master from now on. Once I give you a Quirk, you will serve him.”
The two boys looked at each other. The blue-haired boy seemed skeptical. Izuku was starting to feel scared, What did he mean, master? Didn’t the man just wanna give him a Quirk? He wanted to go home back to his mama. He was scared.1
Izuku felt a hand on his shoulder. “You’re mumbling,” said the man.
Izuku looked up to him, rubbing the tears away. “Sorry, sir. It’s a bad habit.”
“It’s alright, Izuku. Just work on it,” the man said. e used Izuku’s name? Did he give his name? If he knew it, then he must have.’ “Okay, sir.”
Izuku’s stomach growled “Ah. Seems we should get some food. Follow me, Izuku.” They went to the kitchen, grabbing the leftover spaghetti. Izuku ate it greedily. not noticing the man getting up and getting him water. not noticed the man put a placate into the water. “Here you are izuku. it may taste a bit bitter but it’ll help you with getting your quirk tomorrow.”
Izuku drank it. ‘it was bitter but if it meant getting a quirk he was gonna do it. a quirk will make his mama love him.’ after he drank it he yawned.
“Seems it’s time you should sleep. Tomura showed him to the guest room he will have his quirk by the time he wakes up.” The haired boy looks at him nodding his head for izuku to follow. Izuku followed struggling to keep his eyes open. they got to the guest room izuku immediately went to the bed and fell asleep.

The man was right, the next time izuku woke up he had a quirk. He has a few quirks, actually. He felt like he wasn’t quite himself anymore. The doctor – the same one who said he was quirkless – and the man now known as All For One both called him a Nomu. He didn’t know what that meant, but they told him to do things, and he did. He couldn’t stop himself even if he didn’t want to do what they asked.
Like when they made him hurt his mama. She couldn’t breathe anymore. It was scary. But he got his mama’s quirk, so it felt like she was always with him. Even if she didn’t love him, he loved her!
