Work Text:
Lucy doesn’t hear the knock at first, she’s so comfortable in Tim’s bed that she has no concept of the outside world. However when the doorbell starts ringing and a pounding on the door starts, she is taken out of her cocoon of warmth. She slips out of bed, surprised that Tim hasn’t even flinched and pulls on his shirt and a clean pair of his boxers. Then she makes her way out to the front door. The banging continues and she sighs loudly before she’s unlocking it and pulling it open.
Her mouth falls open when she sees who it is because quite honestly it’s the last person she expects to see at Tim’s door this early in the morning.
Ashley.
Ashley stares at Lucy, her eyes going up and down her body. Lucy clutches the door and blocks the entrance so Ashley can’t push her way in. There’s a long silence and Lucy wonders who is going to break it first. She decides to because quite honestly she would rather be back in bed with Tim then squaring off with his ex girlfriend.
“Hi Ashley.” Lucy says. Ashley frowns at her, and steps forward. “What are you doing here?” Ashley doesn’t answer right away. Her eyes go to Tim’s shirt and then back to Lucy’s face.
“Is Tim here?” She asks her. “I want to talk to him.” Lucy glances behind her where the hallway to the bedroom is. Tim is asleep now but she knows if he wakes up and she’s not there he will come looking for her.
“He’s asleep.” She says simply. Ashley frowns and steps forward some more. “Maybe you could come back later or call him if it’s important.” It’s not like she wants Ashley to call Tim but that’s besides the point. She’s trying to get rid of her so she can go back to bed.
“I’m not coming back or calling him.” Ashley says rolling her eyes at Lucy. “I want to talk him now!”
Lucy stares at her, she never really liked Ashley when she was dating Tim. She found her a little… selfish. She wasn’t really that surprised that Ashley was so demanding.
“Well that’s not going to happen.” Lucy says. “He’s asleep and I’m not going to wake him up.” Ashley sighs loudly clearly annoyed at Lucy, “Why won’t you just wake him—”
“Luce?” Tim’s voice sounds behind her and Lucy spins around on her heels to see her boyfriend walking towards her. He is wearing her favorite sweatpants of his, the ones that are just a tad too big and are easy to get off and and a shirt. He rubs at his eyes as he approaches but smiles.
He still looks half asleep but she doesn’t mind, sleepy Tim is one of her favorites. It’s the small, lazy touches and kisses that he gives her that sends shivers up her spine.
“Hi.” She says and he gives her a quick kiss before he looks up and sees Ashley his smile leaving his face immediately.
“Ashley.” He says gruffly and he steps in next to Lucy, tapping his fingers on her leg. It’s a comfort move and she knows this. “What are you doing here?”
Ashley frowns at Tim, her eyes going from Lucy to Tim and back again finally standing back on Tim. She lifts her nose up in the air, “I wanted to talk to you.” She says. Tim looks over at Lucy who shrugs her shoulders, she has no idea what happened between Tim and Ashley. He didn’t like to talk about it and she didn’t blame him. She hadn’t exactly told him how upset Chris was when she broke up with him.
“Why do you want to talk to me?” Tim asks Ashley. The other woman glances at Lucy, and her eyes narrow.
“I want to talk with you in private.” She says her eyes still narrowed. She makes a move to go inside but Tim blocks her, his fingers brushing Lucy’s fingers.
“No.” Tim says drily. “Say what you need to say or leave.” Ashley sighs glaring at Lucy as if this her fault and then looks back at Tim.
“I wanted to get back together.” She says. “I made a mistake breaking up with you and—” She pauses.
“That’s not going to happen.” Tim says cooly. “You made your decision when you broke up with me. I moved on and you should too.” He moves to close the door but Ashley reaches out to stop it.
“You moved on with her?” She asks him pointing at Lucy. “It won’t last Tim. And when it does…end.” She winks at him and Lucy rolls her eyes.
Tim just shakes his head at her. “Actually it will last Ashley. Because unlike you Lucy isn’t a selfish person who just wants to change me. She actually cares about me. She is worth it.”He looks at Lucy when he says that and she smiles a little looking down at the ground. Ashley opens her mouth to argue or something.
But Tim holds up his hand before she can speak, “Leave Ashley.” He says firmly. “And leave me alone. We are done.” He steps back pulling Lucy with him and shuts the door. Lucy hears Ashley make a frustrated noise but she’s turning to Tim who takes her hand and leads her to the couch.
“I’m sorry.” He says. “She broke up with me I didn’t know she was still hanging on.” Lucy scoots closer to him. It’s not his fault his ex was obsessed and still holding onto him.
“It’s not your fault Tim.” She says running her fingers through his hair and then looping her arms around his neck. He still looks unsure so she kisses him once and then twice just so he knows how she feels about him and she’s not worried about an obsessed, jealous ex.
“I meant everything I said.” He says against her lips. “I know you care about me and you are worth it.”
Lucy smiles and kisses him again, her fingers scratching at the back of his head. She knows what Tim feels for her is true, she knows what Tim is it for her. She has known that from the beginning. From the minute he asked her out.
“I know.” She says.
Tim smiles again and kisses her again. “Good.” He says. He runs his fingers through her hair. “Now how about we go back to bed?” She nods and he stands up pulling her up with him. He takes her hand and leads her back to his bedroom. She giggles when his hands go to her ass and he nudges her so she can wrap her legs around him. He carries her into the bedroom and lays her down on the bed and hovers over. Ashley may have put a little damper on the morning but what was about happen would definitely make up for it.
