There you are, there you are, there you are!!
Nothing against the young human who had fed her the nicest things and sniffled into her fur at night; nothing against the gruff human who pretended not to care but would still play with her when nobody was looking.
They were nice.
But this was her human! Hers!
He stood between water and land, looking down at her, and showed his teeth like happy humans do.
“Huli-jing!”
The other’s footsteps hurried closer. "Li Lianhua!"
Those poor humans lacked tails to wag, so only Huli-jing could truly show how happy she was.
