Work Text:

In the bustling chaos of the airport, Xu Minghao, the bright and charismatic but sassy and savage member of SEVENTEEN, found himself surrounded by a sea of flashing cameras and eager fans. His heart pounded erratically as the crowd pressed in, their voices a deafening roar that threatened to drown out his thoughts.

"Stay close, Myungho-ah!" Joshua's voice cut through the commotion, his hand gripping Minghao's wrist tightly as he attempted to navigate through the throng of people.

Minghao tried to stay calm, but his anxiety spiraled out of control as the crowd closed in on him, their hands reaching out to touch him, their cameras blinding him with their flashes. He felt suffocated, trapped in a nightmare he couldn't wake up from.

"Hyung, I can't... I need to get out of here," Minghao choked out, his voice trembling with panic.

Joshua's heart clenched at the desperation in Minghao's voice. "Hang in there, darling. We'll get you out of this."

But before they could make any progress, Minghao stumbled, his breath coming in short, ragged gasps. The weight of the situation crashed down on him, and he felt like he was suffocating under the pressure.

Suddenly, a pair of strong arms wrapped around him, pulling him out of the crowd. Minghao blinked in confusion, his vision blurry from tears and camera flashes. When his eyes cleared, he found himself staring into the worried gaze of Jun.

"You're safe now, baobei ," Jun whispered, his voice a soothing balm to Minghao's frazzled nerves.

As Minghao clung to Jun, the rest of SEVENTEEN quickly formed a protective barrier around them, shielding Minghao from the prying eyes of the crowd.

"We need to get out of here," Jeonghan said, his voice urgent as he surveyed the chaotic scene around them.

With Minghao safely tucked under their wing, SEVENTEEN made a hasty retreat, their hearts heavy with worry for their friend.

Once they were safely away from the airport, Minghao sank to the ground, his breaths coming in shaky gasps as he tried to regain control of his racing heart.

"Are you okay, Hao?" Mingyu asked, his voice laced with concern as he knelt down beside him.

Minghao nodded weakly, his body still trembling from the adrenaline coursing through his veins. "I'm sorry... I couldn't handle it."

"Don't apologize, Minghao. We're just glad you're safe," Wonwoo said, his voice gentle as he placed a comforting hand on Minghao's shoulder.

Minghao felt tears pricking at the corners of his eyes as he looked around at his bandmates, their faces etched with worry and compassion.

"I don't know what I would do without you guys," Minghao whispered, his voice choked with emotion.

"We're always here for you, Hyung," Seungkwan said, his voice unwavering in its sincerity.

As Minghao continued to lean against Jun for support, the rest of SEVENTEEN surrounded him, forming a protective circle. Their expressions ranged from concern to anger, their eyes darting around to ensure there were no lingering threats.

"We need to be more careful from now on," Vernon said, his voice tinged with frustration. "This shouldn't have happened."

Seungcheol nodded in agreement, his jaw clenched with determination. "We'll make sure it doesn't happen again. Eisa's safety is our top priority."

Minghao felt a rush of gratitude towards his bandmates, overwhelmed by their unwavering support. "Thank you, everyone," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.

"You don't have to thank us, Eisa," Seungcheol said, his tone firm. "We're family, and family looks out for each other."

Minghao's heart swelled with warmth at Seungcheol's words, his eyes misting with tears. He had always felt like an outsider, a foreigner in a foreign land, but with SEVENTEEN, he had found a home.

As they made their way to the exit, Minghao couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the pit of his stomach. The events at the airport had shaken him to his core, leaving him feeling vulnerable and exposed.

"Are you sure you're okay, Eisa?" Jeonghan asked, his voice filled with concern.

Minghao forced a smile, though it felt more like a grimace. "I'll be fine, hyung. Just give me a moment to collect myself."

Jeonghan nodded understandingly, though Minghao could see the worry still lingering in his eyes. He knew he couldn't hide his true feelings from his bandmates, no matter how hard he tried.

As they finally emerged from the airport, Minghao felt a wave of relief wash over him. The cool evening air felt like a balm to his frazzled nerves, calming the turmoil that still raged within him.

"We should head back to the dorm," Seungcheol said, his voice breaking through the silence. "We need to debrief and come up with a plan to ensure this doesn't happen again."

The rest of SEVENTEEN nodded in agreement, their expressions grim as they piled into the van. Minghao sank into his seat, feeling drained both physically and emotionally.

As they drove back to the dorm, Minghao couldn't help but replay the events of the day in his mind, each moment more terrifying than the last. He felt a shiver run down his spine as he remembered the feeling of being engulfed by the crowd, their hands reaching out to grab him, their voices a cacophony of noise.

"Hey, Myungho-ah, you're shaking," DK said, his voice laced with concern.

Minghao glanced down at his hands, surprised to see them trembling uncontrollably. He clenched them into fists, willing them to stop, but the trembling only seemed to intensify.

"I can't stop," Minghao whispered, his voice barely audible over the roar of the engine.

Hoshi reached out, placing a comforting hand on Minghao's shoulder. "It's okay, HaoHao, you're okay. You're safe now. We won't let anything happen to you."

Minghao leaned into Hoshi's touch, grateful for the warmth and reassurance it provided. He closed his eyes, willing himself to calm down, though the memories of the airport still haunted him.

As they pulled into the driveway of the dorm, Minghao felt a sense of relief wash over him. The familiar surroundings offered him a sense of security that he desperately needed, a safe haven away from the chaos of the outside world.

"We're here, Eisa" Seungcheol said, his voice gentle as he helped Minghao out of the van.

Minghao took a deep breath, steeling himself for the debriefing that awaited them inside. He knew they needed to come up with a plan to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future, but all he wanted in that moment was to crawl into bed and forget the events of the day.

As they filed into the living room, Minghao sank onto the couch, feeling the exhaustion wash over him like a tidal wave. He leaned his head back against the cushions, closing his eyes as he listened to the voices of his bandmates swirling around him.

"We need to increase security measures for future events," Seungcheol said, his voice firm with determination. "We can't afford to take any chances with Eisa and our safety."

The rest of SEVENTEEN nodded in agreement, their expressions serious as they discussed potential solutions to the problem. Minghao listened intently, grateful for their dedication to keeping him safe.

"Is there anything else we need to discuss?" Seungcheol asked, his gaze sweeping across the room.

Minghao hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should speak up. But then he remembered the overwhelming sense of panic he had felt at the airport, the feeling of being trapped and helpless.

"I think... I think we need to talk about how I'm feeling," Minghao said, his voice barely above a whisper.

The room fell silent as his bandmates turned to look at him, their expressions filled with concern.

"What do you mean, love?" Jeonghan asked, his voice gentle as he reached out to grasp Minghao's hand.

Minghao took a deep breath, steeling himself for the flood of emotions that threatened to overwhelm him.

"I've been struggling with my anxiety lately," Minghao admitted, his voice trembling with vulnerability. "And today... today was just too much."

A chorus of understanding murmurs filled the room as Minghao's bandmates surrounded him, offering words of comfort and support.

"We're here for you, Hyung" Dino said, his voice filled with sincerity. "You don't have to go through this alone."

Minghao felt tears pricking at the corners of his eyes as he looked around at his bandmates, their faces a blur of love and compassion.

"Thank you," Minghao whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "Thank you for always being there for me."

As Minghao leaned into the warmth of his bandmates' embrace, he felt a sense of peace wash over him. No matter what challenges lay ahead, he knew that as long as he had SEVENTEEN by his side, he would never have to face them alone.
