MARAUDERS BY THE LAKE

Spring had arrived, complete with fields of flowers surrounding the castle. Still a chill in the air but not as bitter as a month or two ago. Mid semester exams had just finished, and the Marauders decided to take a peaceful Saturday walk down to the lake.
Peter and James were in charge of food so managed to sneak into the kitchens using the invisibility cloak and got enough snacks to last at least a week; whilst Remus oversaw blankets and Sirius…
Well Sirius was in detention. Again.
This time for changing an ingredient in potions class, it looked similar to what the original would have, but drastically different reactions. This was his second week in a row spent cleaning out cauldrons and no one knew how many more weekends he would be stuck in the dungeon’s potions classroom.
Feeling he had served enough time and feeling brave enough to sweet talk McGonagall that evening, there was no way he was going to miss out on relaxing at the lake with the rest of his friends. Sirius snuck out of the dungeons, retrieved his broom from behind a nearby statue and flew as fast as he could away from the castle and towards the lake.
