Work Text:
“Hey, Ollie.”
“Hey Molly, I saw your text.”
“Yeah, I was told about what happened earlier today and thought we needed to talk about it.”
“Needless to say, I’m gonna need a pretty good explanation for you jumping from a power line and kissing me repeatedly, that was very sudden and uncomfortable.”
“That’s totally reasonable. Bear with me because this will probably sound crazy, but I was cursed.”
“A curse?”
“Yes, Scratch put a rare curse on me that caused me to have no fear for 24 hours and because that part of my brain was shut off I decided to conquer my fears in some… very extreme ways let’s just say.”
“What fear do you have that caused you to do that?”
…
“I feared that I hadn’t shown you how much I care about you. I’ve been so busy since we became boyfriend and girlfriend that we haven’t been able to spend much time together, I mean we haven’t even gone on our official first date yet! I just felt so terrible about that and I guess that translated to me doing that to you. I’m so sorry, Ollie. I hope you can forgive me.”
…
“I forgive you. If you weren’t fully in control of your actions, then that’s not something I can hold against you. To tell the truth, I’ve had the same fear for some time. I’ve never met anyone who understands me like you do, Molly.”
“Ollie, I feel the exact same way. Tell you what, I’m going to look through my schedule this month and make sure I can block out a time and day for us to go on our official first date. How does that sound?”
“I think that sounds great!”
“Thank goodness. At least one good thing came out of this I suppose. I’m just so glad you aren’t mad at me, I was scared out of my mind as soon as I learned that I did that.”
“Don’t worry about it, I was more confused than anything. Let’s exchange schedules soon and figure something out.”
“Sounds like a plan. Well, I better get ready for bed. See you tomorrow?”
“Of course. Goodnight, Molly!”
“Goodnight, Ollie!”

Ollie re-entered June’s bedroom, where she was sitting at her desk waiting for him. “So, what was the deal with Molly?” June asked.
“Okay, so it turns out that Molly was under some kind of rare curse from Scratch that made her fearless for 24 hours, and one of her biggest fears was that she hadn’t shown me how much she cares about me, so that's why she jumped from a power line and kissed me repeatedly,” Ollie explained to June.
“I see. Did you forgive her?” she asked.
“Of course. She’d apparently been tackling a lot of her fears in equally extreme ways, so if she wasn’t in control of her actions, then that's no reason to cut off our relationship. Besides, we haven’t even gone on a real date yet,” Ollie lamented.
“Oh yeah, did you two figure that out at least?” June asked.
“Actually, we did! We’re going to try and schedule a date before the end of the month,” Ollie replied.
“That’s nice. I’m glad I could help you deal with this whole situation,” June said.
“Me too. I need some rest, this day has been emotionally draining,” Ollie said.
“I can only imagine. Want a hug before you go?” June asked.
“Sure!” Ollie replied as the two siblings embraced. “Well, I’m heading back to my room now. Sleep well, June!”
“Goodnight Ollie!” June said.
Having successfully helped her brother navigate the mysteries of the human heart, June decided to call it a night as well, but not before writing in her journal. She began with the following lines:
January 9th, 2023
Dear Journal,
Ollie came to me with a very interesting problem today, one that is definitely not within my area of expertise.
