The Swan's Symphony Companion Guide

Summary:

A guide to new aliases and major original characters in "The Swan's Symphony" by blorbosexterminator (nharidy). The guide will update alongside "The Swan's Symphony" as new developments and/or characters appear.

Notes:

Exactly as the summary says- this is a guide to the original characters in blorbosexterminator's complex and thrilling epic serial, "The Swan's Symphony."

If anything is inaccurate here, please correct me, dearest Nada! And I hope this little guide does your work justice- you put so much effort and creativity into writing these OCs' and aliases that they're as good as canon characters to me! Thanks for giving me permission to post this, and can't wait for the rest of the story~

This guide is for those of us Swan Symphony readers who want to keep track of the fic's original characters as the storylines progress.

**The guide divides everyone into organization and only includes characters with some impact on the heist or the "hospital."**

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

CANON CHARACTER ALIASES:

Case #563 - Andrés' codename at the medical facility

Phoenix - Rafael

Bologna - Tatiana

Victoria - Alicia's baby 👶

ORIGINAL CHARACTERS

MYSTERY MEDICAL FACILITY:
(Revealed to be a Soviet Bunker under the remains of a Russian hospital)

Dr. Igor Milchwich - a high-end neurologist in charge of case 563; was once expelled from his workplace and has his medical practice license suspended; has a damaged left end due to a past accident; credits the bunker facility for putting meaning back into his life; currently conducts medical experiments on captive criminals handed over to his facility by European authorities (AKA legally illegal operations)

Ekaterina/Katya  - nurse/aid to Igor and case 563; a sad, self-absorbed woman madly in love with Igor; lives with her ailing grandmother (who has yet to die)

Galya/Galina - another aid at the facility, an older middle-aged woman

Anya - a beautiful young nurse/aid at the facility; Katya's frenemy and the object of her envy

LA MONCLOA PALACE, THE PRIME MINISTER'S SEAT:

The Residential Palace - the Prime Minister's home

Victor Esquivel - the Prime Minister ("El Presidente")

Sra. Esquivel - el Presidente's wife

Elisa - 7 years old, El Presidente's youngest daughter, nicknamed Muñequita by la banda

Carmen - 10 years old, El Presidente's eldest daughter

Alfonso Martinez - Chief of Staff; owes Prieto a favor after Prieto got him out of jail

NEW BANDA MEMBERS:

Muscat - a Serbian ex-soldier; the oldest new member; an amiable and formidable man who quickly befriends Helsinki. Described as: "A wise man with wisp hair barely covering his scalp. He liked history and spoke often; he was a good storyteller, who night after night, weaved stories around the dinner table that had everyone hanging on his every word."

Cádiz - another Serbian ex-soldier; a very serious woman

Zagreb - a wanted Sudanese criminal who once deserted his country's Civil War; close to Helsinki in age; a witty and humorous man who takes everything in stride

Bern - a young Georgian ex-soldier. Described described as very unfriendly and cold, and: "short and bulky, with eyes the exact color of ashes, and a big, faded scar running across the left side of his face."

Brasilia - an outgoing but secretive young woman; although good at jokes and small talk, she generally keeps to herself and sticks to Kyiv. Described as: "plump and olive-skinned with wide green eyes that were speckled with golden spots. But none of this was noticeable next to the large scar on her neck."

Kyiv - a doctor in his late 40s (referred to as "Doctor" by the rest of la banda); hard to read; speaks with a heavy Spanish accent; Brasilia's steadfast companion. Described as: "with elegant silver-grey hair always sleeked back and icy grey eyes, and spoke with a heavy Spanish accent that Mirko couldn’t place. Despite the grey hair and beard, he had a youthful look about him. And often dressed in the sort of cheap suits of a civil clerk."

Dublin - a hitman brought in by Marsella; generally quiet, but can be smug and insightful. Described as: "Handsome, with everything about him indicating he knew it. Fair-skinned with light, sharp green eyes and gold-ish hair that reached the nape of his skin in smooth curls. His face was sharp-lined and he stood as tall as Marsella, muscularly lean. He was often as quiet as Marsella, but with a constant playful smirk dancing on his lips and a hint of perpetual laughter in his eyes."

Pristina - a hitwoman brought in by Marsella; sharp and organized; very close to Dublin and possibly his sister. Described as: "tall and broad, towering over most, especially with how she walked and handled herself. She had cleanly blonde hair that was growing white at the roots, which she wore in an impeccable high tail at the top of her head. And most often she dressed in dress pants and crisp white shirts, as though she was always on her way to attend a business meeting in some high-profile skyscraper. She slightly resembled Dublín in appearance, with similar-looking hazel eyes."

Athens - Bogotá’s eldest daughter; enjoys flirting with Brasilia; only dresses in leather jackets and ripped jeans; has dyed her hair a striking red

Caracas - Bogotá’s eldest son and Athens' older brother; around Rio's age; a serious and grumpy individual with no patience for Athens' behavior; complete opposite of Bogota in temperament

NEW AUTHORITIES:

Pedro Borquez - a hostage negotiator; Raquel and Alicia's past professor; former professor of Hostage Negotiations and Crisis Intervention at the police academy who went into early retirement after leaving his wife for a 19-year-old girl

Ricardo, Adrian, Roger, Nacho - Alberto Vicuna's companions on the police force

Catalina Casares - Director of CNI and Policia; General-Director of the Civil Guard

Salvador Fuentes - Co-Director of CNI and Policia

Natalia Sancho - former General-Director of the Civil Guard, Catalina's predecessor; she quit after her political scandals and financial corruption came to light

Vicente Ferrer - leader of the Civil Guard, Minister of the Interior

Joaquin Rodriguez - a Colonel in the Civil Guard, reports to Vicente

Julio Mazerno - member of the Civil Guard, reports to Rodriguez

Ernesto - member of the Civil Guard, reports to Rodriguez

Isabel Corazon - a young Minister of Defense

UNAFFILIATED:

"Young Woman" - a former gang member with a prominent tattoo, currently working for the police as hired muscle; presumably has a history of being arrested by Raquel; name and role yet to be revealed

Notes:

This will update alongside "The Swan's Symphony" as new developments and/or characters appear (and there might be another chapter for background OCs in the future). Hope this was helpful and again, highly recommend "The Swan's Symphony" for anyone missing the thrill of LCDP (with bonus berlermo and serquel peppered in)!
