Work Text:

Damn it. Damn it. Damn It!

At this point Timaeus was grabbing anything that could be used to help cover and keep pressure on Dolcetto's wound. To some relief Timaeus had discovered a hidden emergency kit with bandages, gauze and verity of other useful things someone (Doc?) had obviously put together but it still wasn't a lot. Any blood quickly soaking everything up, covering his hands red as he pressed while trying to change the dressings.

How he'd survived something so severe, and definitely infected from being down there in the filthy water, was baffling and at present the only thought was that it had been done one purpose. To let him suffer slowly and witness what happened down in the sewers. That or he'd gotten lucky. What kind of luck was up for debate.

Not that he was out of the woods, far from it. Timeaus worked tirelessly trying think and do anything that might help. Unfortunately what he really needed was a proper doctor and a hospital, that's where his best chance would be. Not in the hands of two under qualified people, who's only experience was either self taught injury care or while having a little more experience, someone who's memory refused to work properly. Despite having grown up watching his dad, helping at the clinic, learning from him there was still so much he didn't know, or otherwise couldn't remember

Why? He could play most pieces of music just from hearing it once, could name any number of constellations, their stories even name some of the stars themselves. So why, oh why couldn't he remember important information when he needed it.

Bloody hands shook finishing up doing his best to redress the wound, using his coat to keep things held firmly in place.

What he did know was he desperately needed fluids and blood and they had no way to give them to him.

Dol's breathing was so quiet and heart so low, would he even survive? Slumping down with a heavy exhale his whole body trembling, an arm draped across bent knees and placed his forehead to it. Unkempt bangs falling over tired eyes. There had to be more, something else he could do, there had to be. But all he felt was useless, so useless.

"He needs a real doctor,"

Timaeus was at the end of his rope, stretched beyond the breaking point. Their home, no longer held the same feeling of safety it once did. Friends, family, all gone - either dead or missing with no knowing when or if they'd return

Leaving him, Bido, Dol and Roa as the only ones to remain. Both Dolcetto and Roa were in critical condition, however Roa was arguably a bit more stable compared to Dol's major organ damage. Yet there was no guarantee either would survive even with Timaeus' attempted treatment And he knew that, the thought eating away at him that everything he was doing may as well be hopeless.

But he couldn't.. he couldn't give up...

"I can't..." His voice barely a hoarse whisper, his whole body now trembling as everything started to overflow, feeling himself breaking down in front of his friend, tears falling for the first time since everything went hell. Since losing his home for a second time, losing his family. "I can't lose my family, again."

Tim's age may have put him as an adult but never had he felt more like child.

His chest felt so tight it was hard to breath, and the tears kept rolling out of his right eye. The screams and howls that occaisionally gave rise felt louder then ever in his mind, unable to block them out.

Useless

Coward

Instead of fighting he'd given in to instinct, fled and hid while everyone else fought to defend themselves.. their home. Would he have made any difference in the fight?

Probably not but maybe.. just maybe, if he'd been there maybe someone else could've survive
