Chapter Text
Peter Parker had just turned 17 and was in his 3rd year of high school. As the story goes, he’s not much more than a loser nerd who devotes all of his time to studying and has only had one girlfriend (that blonde chick who died in some freak Spider-Man-related accident), but you already know that. You also know that that’s not the whole truth, you know he’s the infamous web-slinger by night. He’d been Spider-Man for a little over a year, but he wasn’t counting. He kept it a secret, after Gwen. He didn’t want to risk that. Not again. But there are two main characters in this story!
The other one was a delinquent, forced to be in those special classes they only send the asshole kids. But it was justified, as Wade Wilson sure was an asshole kid. Although, if you said that to him, he’d fight you on the kid part. He was halfway into his 18th year of being alive and had no fears. Skipping classes, beating up anyone willing, and basically having zero survival skills. However, he somehow managed to get his own apartment and scrape by with his grades so he could graduate when the school year ended. Despite being the two opposite people you could ever meet, Wade set his sights on Peter. He was the perfect kid to mess with. So during lunch, Wade decided to sit next to Peter. Peter didn’t mind, he was too busy reading and eating to care. Wade slowly scooted closer and closer until Peter had no choice but to look up.
“Can I help you?”
He asked. Wade smiled.
“I think you’re cute. We should go out sometime.”
Peter pressed his lips together into an awkward smile.
“Thanks, but no thanks. I have things to do.”
“Oh come on!”
Wade rolled his eyes.
“One date can’t hurt! I don’t bite! Unless you want me to, of course.”
Peter’s face remained the same.
“I’m still not interested. Thanks.”
Wade frowned and protested, but that was all he was getting out of Peter. After a few more minutes of nagging, he finally backed off, scooting away. But of course, that wasn’t the end of it. The next day, he came back. Sitting uncomfortably close to Peter.
“Hey sweet cheeks, can I put a name to that face?”
He asked as Peter looked up at him, seemingly unbothered by the lack of personal space.
“Peter. Peter Parker.”
Wade smiled, maybe he was getting somewhere.
“I’m Wade Wilson, a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
Peter just nodded, and that was the end of their conversation. That cycle continued, Wade getting close, Peter not caring, Wade asking a question, Peter giving a short answer, end of interaction. Until, over time, his answers became more detailed. And the questions got more specific. They became friends. Then one day, they were both at Peter’s house upstairs studying, and Wade asked a question Peter did not expect.
“Pete?”
Called Wade. Peter hummed in response.
“Do you wanna go out with me? Like, be boyfriends?”
Peter’s eyebrows furrowed as he looked at Wade, and he was dead serious. He wasn’t expecting a question like that, but it sure wasn’t unwelcome. After thinking for a few seconds, he spoke.
“Honestly? Yeah. I wanna do that.”
Wade pumped his fists in the air, and swept his hair back, trying to act cool. It wasn’t working though, and they both ended up giggling like little girls. From there, they were boyfriend and boyfriend. Peter wasn’t expecting to date again after what happened to Gwen, and Wade didn’t expect to end up with the nerdy kid he just wanted to make fun of, but there they were. Peter and Wade. High school sweethearts.
