Chapter Text
Why is everybody dying?
This week, cancer;
next week, age;
comas, seizures, rage;
friends’ mothers,
my mother’s friends -
pillars all crumbling down to the dust they were born in.
I look to God, I look to the universe,
tears heavy, heart heavy,
searching for answers I’m not sure are out there,
miracles I doubt the same.
I remain, left with the nothing I was born in.
