Work Text:
It was a simple date, long past the point of meaning anything in their lives as idols, letting those things become memories of their short school days.
However, as usual, they had to keep STAY entertained and couldn't let the day go unnoticed, so they had agreed to record a series of videos in addition to the previous photoshoot sessions for their Japanese account.
"Hyung, should we film together?"
The question took him by surprise; they didn't film together very often, and he knew that he preferred doing those kinds of things with Felix. However, he couldn't refuse his request, and as soon as he looked at him, his eyes sparkled with hope.
"My I.N wants to partner with me~?"
He quickly moved to wrap his arm around his shoulder, seeking the closeness that was usually not allowed. Indeed, the younger one reacted by trying to push him away.
"Eish, I'll go ask someone else then..."
"No, no, wait, let's do it together~"
He immediately pleaded; he really didn't want to miss his chance.
A month ago, he had decided to give meaning to his feelings.
It didn't matter that Valentine's Day was exclusive to girls; he wanted to give chocolates to the youngest member of the group as a symbol of his confession.
He even asked Felix for help to make homemade chocolates in the shape of hearts, making a couple more with a deformed shape of bread and a fox in honor of Yang. He carefully arranged them in a small transparent bag and used a pink ribbon to seal it.
That day, everyone would be available, and most importantly, at home. So as soon as he woke up, he took the chocolates to the younger one's room and placed them on the nightstand with a note that read "Happy Valentine's Day ♡" next to a poorly made but adorable Quokka.
"What are you doing, Jisung hyung?"
The orange-haired one rubbed his eyes sleepily, stretching in bed, trying to adjust to the faint light filtering through the white curtains.
"Oh, this... it's... it's a gift~ chocolates."
"Uh? I don't like chocolate, hyung..."
He replied, sitting up in bed, admiring the downcast expression on the brunette's face.
Small detail, he had forgotten that indeed, Jeongin didn't like sweets and preferred to avoid them.
He felt stupid. How could he say that he liked him if he didn't remember that?
He hesitated to take the bag, and when he did, he was immediately stopped.
"It's okay! Leave them, thanks, I'll eat them later..."
He shouted a bit at first, making him startle, and he immediately let the small gift be.
He didn't hide that he was pleased, so he smiled widely as he tried to pull his little love onto the bed with a hug.
"Stop it, get off, you're crushing me!"
"I promise I'll make you bitter chocolates next time!"
It might have been wishful thinking, but that gesture could be interpreted as acceptance. He had accepted his feelings, and maybe, just maybe, he would get an answer the following month.
That day had arrived, but he hadn't received any chocolates.
Perhaps he should be more honest with his feelings, explicitly say it instead of using a silly way to confess discreetly. After all, he didn't even know if he had tried his chocolates since he never saw the bag in the trash, and he never caught him eating them.
That's why wanting to film with him meant so much. His heart swelled with excitement.
"Well... last time you mentioned an idea... but no one wanted to film it. What was it?"
Jeongin's voice snapped him out of his daydream, and he nodded instantly.
"Oh, it was a... a kissing trend, look."
As soon as he said "kissing," he saw the younger one becoming less convinced. However, he agreed to watch the examples of videos with that audio.
There were all kinds of videos; they could easily do the trend without actually kissing.
It wasn't his favorite option, but he still agreed when the other assured him that he had an idea.
They set up where they usually filmed, and to his pleasant surprise, his cheeks were captured by Jeongin's hands.
He felt his legs being flanked, but he still looked at the phone screen, which displayed a small countdown before starting the recording.
Indeed, he didn't receive any kisses no matter how much he pouted, and as if to tease him, the younger one imitated his plump lips, making kissing sounds every time he approached.
"Uh? You look very red and disheartened, hyung, maybe with a little more inspiration."
They repeated the takes a coupleof times, each time with Jeongin getting closer and closer to his face, teasing him with the prospect of a kiss. It was both thrilling and nerve-wracking, and he could feel his heart racing with anticipation.
The surprise on the maknae's face was such that he immediately looked at the phone that lay turned off, without having had the opportunity to capture the brief encounter of their lips.
Now that he thought about it, what should he say now? He had started with the worst way of confessing, all backwards, starting with kisses instead of words.
He couldn't even ask himself more questions about it when again the soft and fine lips of the fox crashed into his own with more determination and dominance.
His cheeks were still held by that large, strong hand, the delicious taste of chocolate staining their encounter, letting out a sigh when there was space between them.
"You had to wait for me to give you chocolates too..." The taller one gasped, taking a box of chocolates or rather, truffles, out of the wide pockets of his pants.
"You...?"
"Happy White Day, hyung ~" Oh, of course, he was happy. This time he decided to hug him, and for the first time, instead of being quickly pushed away, he was enveloped in the same way.
"Is that a yes?"
"If you ask, it will be a no."
"Let's just say it's a yes."
Finally, he would get all those kisses that had never been reciprocated due to embarrassment. Until now, of course.
