Work Text:

Wayne had been feeling sick all day. He had fought to keep his emotions in check after Priya's body had been found. He tried to be surprised like he wasn't the one that chopped her up. He hated feeling like this...He hated having to play dumb...he wanted this to end. He had to reason with Emma and fast.

Emma was in one of the empty cabins alone. She was hiding the hoodie in her mattress. Wayne opened the door and Emma whirled around, her eyes wide. "Oh! Oh its just you..." She gasped, relief flooding her features. She quickly finished stuffing the hoodie, then fixed the mattress. "Can you help me?" She asked sweetly. Wayne complied, helping Emma pull the sheet back on.

"Em...I need to talk to you..." Wayne said, trying to keep his expression neutral. Emma glanced at him curiously and stepped up to him.

"What's up?" She asked, leaning to peck his cheek. "You can talk to me while I go grab a drink." She said, moving to leave the cabin.

"Emma, this is serious..." Wayne said, following her. "I need your attention, eh?" He sighed. Emma hummed and stepped onto the porch.

"Then you've got it. Talk to me baby." She replied, going down the steps.

"I wanna tell the others what we've done." Wayne said, feeling his stomach drop further when Emma froze.

"What...?" She asked pausing on the side of the cabin. Wayne followed after her, taking one of her hands.

"I can't keep living like this Emma...I can't keep killing people off...it isn't fair..." Wayne said softly. "But I also know I couldn't live with myself if I didn't say something..." He continued. Emma's face scrunched up and she narrowed her eyes.

"Are you fucking serious right now?!" She asked. Wayne frowned and nodded. "Wayne, are you stupid?! We could get killed!"

"I mean...we've been killing people, so I guess it's only fair, eh?" Wayne said, glancing off to the side.

"Who did you tell?" Emma asked, glaring intensely. Wayne looked at her in surprise.

"N-Nobody! I haven't told anyone!" He exclaimed. Emma grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him down to her level.

"You better not have. You know what happens when you cross me." Emma hissed. Wayne shuddered and nodded.

"I know I know...I didn't tell anyone...I just don't think what we're doing is okay! Murders bad, Em!"

"Not if they deserve it!" Emma retorted.

"How did any of them deserve it?!" Wayne yelled in a hushed whisper. Emma rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest.

"They know what they did. Chase was awful and a scumbag, Lauren was nosey, and Priya was too slow to get away." Emma explained. Wayne looked at her with disgust. "Look, if you know what's good for you, you'll listen to me." Emma continued, a forced smile on her face, her hands moving onto her hips.

"I just don't wanna keep doing this anymore!" Wayne said solemnly. "Promise me this will be the last one! We can't keep doing this, it isn't right..."

"They had it coming, and you know it." Emma scoffed and Wayne looked at her blankly.

"What did they do?" He asked. "Tell me..." She looks at him with narrowed eyes. "They're our friends...I want out."

"Were." Emma corrected. "They were our friends." Emma reached out and took his chin in her hands, pulling Wayne's face close. "And if you back out, I go back on my word."

"You wouldn't!" He gasped.

"Try me." Emma reply, a devious smirk growing proudly across her face. Wayne looked at her mortified. She bared her teeth and Wayne looked away spotting Zee. His eyes widened and Emma peered around him. "Shit..." She said softly.

Zee just sipped his soda. "Sup dudes." He says cooly.

"How much of that did you hear?" Emma asked nervously.

"All of it." Zee says casually.

"Y-You're not shocked...?" She asked, stepping around Wayne.

"You know you can tell people you're dating; nobody'll care." Zee said. Emma and Wayne exchanged a look.

"Yeah, cause that's what we're talking about." Emma deadpanned. Wayne shot her a glare.

"Wait...were you talking about something else?" Zee asked. Wayne looked at him nervously. Emma glared at him intensely, eyes bearing a hole in his head. She silently prayed Wayne would keep his mouth shut, but the way his face twitched for a moment told her everything.

"We're the ones killing people!" Wayne abruptly spat, then slapped a hand over his mouth. Emma whacked his arm, horrified. Zee let out a nervous laugh and sipped his soda.

"Thats not funny dude..." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. Wayne kept his hand pressed against his face, terror in his eyes. Emma laughed nervously, patting Wayne on the shoulder before gripping it tightly.

"Sorry, it's been a long day, and tensions are high...now's not the time to joke...even if it's probably just to cope with all that's been going on..." Emma said hesitantly. "Just don't go telling anyone yeah? We don't want any false accusations going around..."

Zee nodded, sipping his soda. "Right...I'm gonna go back to the cabin then..." He said, turning to retreat back inside. Emma turned to Wayne with a fierce, piercing glare.

"You know he has to die now after that, right?" She asked coldly. Wayne looked at the grass, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. "You could have just ruined everything!"

"I didn't ask to be roped into this! I agreed to Chase, I didn't agree to Lauren and I sure as hell didn't agree to Priya! You're insane!" Wayne hissed. Emma's face flushed a little, looking up at Wayne and biting her lip.

"Wow...that was never a tone I thought you'd use..." She murmured shyly, smirking at Wayne. "Kinda hot." She added, moving to wrap her arms around his shoulders. Wayne chewed on his bottom lip and wrapped his arms around Emma's waist. She leaned in to kiss him, smiling against his lips. Wayne kissed back, feeling sick to his stomach.

They kissed for a moment, Emma hummed against his lips and Wayne squeezed his eyes shut tighter. They pulled back and Emma grinned up at Wayne.

"I love you..." She said softly. Her face was flushed, and her eyes sparkled as she stared up at him. Wayne stared down at her, miserable tears rolling down his cheeks.

"I love you too..." He said, voice wavering. Emma reached a hand up to wipe his tears with her thumb.

"Don't cry baby...it's for the best...he's gonna tell on us and we don't want that do we?" She asked sweetly. Wayne shook his head no and sniffled. "It's okay baby, I promise..." She soothed, moving to hug him.

"I'm a horrible person..." He whispered. "We're horrible people..."

"But we're together and that's all I care about." Emma said sweetly. Wayne let out a broken sob. "So...now's the fun part...how are we killing Zee?" She asked. Wayne pulled back from the hug with disgust. "What?" Emma asked.

"I don't wanna plan a freaking murder right now!" Wayne snapped. Emma let out a small chuckle and got up in Wayne's face.

"I don't care what you want." She said with sugary sweet malice. Wayne stepped away from her and glared intensely.

"I'm not planning a murder right now. I'm upset." Wayne grumbled. "I'm going to bed eh." Wayne muttered, starting to walk back to the cabins.

"Wayne, you come back here right now." Emma hissed. Wayne kept walking and Emma scoffed, moving to grab Wayne's arm and yank him back to her. Wayne yelped and looked at Emma in alarm. "I am talking to you. Don't you dare walk away from me."

Wayne shivered and nodded, tears forming in his eyes again. "Okay..."

"Thank you." Emma huffed. "We are planning this right now." She said sternly. Wayne nodded, his stomach contents threatening to bubble up. "I was thinking an axe?" She suggested.

"If that's what you want." Wayne replied stalely.

"If you're gonna be a pain in the ass I'll walk in there right now and kill Raj." Emma said flatly. Wayne's head snapped towards her. "Thats what I thought."

"Okay, an axe works...where are you gonna kill him?"

"I was thinking, he usually gets a soda from the dining hall in the morning. We could get him then. Kill him in the freezer?"

Wayne nodded, tapping his finger to his chin, trying to look as if he was truly invested in this conversation. "That could work...You take him out and I'll stand guard."

"Oooo yeah, we'd definitely need a lookout, we don't need anyone coming in and seeing us." Emma replied. Wayne nodded. "Me in the walk in with the axe." Emma repeated. "Got it?"

"Yeah..." Wayne affirmed.

"Excellent. We meet at dawn." She said, leaning to kiss Wayne. "Now get some rest babe, we have a big day tomorrow!" Emma said cheerfully, giving Wayne a final kiss then retreating up the stairs and into the girls cabin.

The second she was out of sight; Wayne turned and finally released the contents of his stomach. He wiped his mouth and hesitantly went up the cabin steps. He lingered in the doorway a moment, eyeing the door to the girls cabin. "I'm going to hell..." He sighed before going inside.
