Chapter Text

You yawned sitting up in your bed and stretched your arms above your head. The sun shined in from your window, the sound of birds tweeting filled the air and you felt well rested… Wait… Weren’t you in the library a second ago? Your eyes snapped open as you scanned the room hurriedly.

You seemed to be in a nice, quaint bedroom. It wasn’t yours though. You looked out the window in hopes of seeing the town you lived in, but was met instead with a huge forest. What lay within it, you had no idea. You stood up and hurriedly slipped on some shoes, before making your way downstairs.

You walked down the excellently carved, wooden stairs, when the sounds of voices reached your ears. You peeked around the corner and was surprised to see three familiar girls. Except you usually saw them as guys, not girls. They were also familiarly known as the Bad Touch Trio. They seemed to be talking about dresses, as you carefully stepped in.

“So… what are you three up to?” You asked softly, being cautious of how you approached them. For all you knew, they kidnapped you. They jumped at the sound of your voice and quickly turned to face you, giving nervous smiles.

“Up to?” Prussia asked nervously.

“Up to?” Spain repeated.

“Up to?” France laughed nervously, playing with her hair. “Eh, we… well, we-“

“Want you to pick some berries.” Prussia quickly added.

“That's it, berries!” France seemed relieved with the answer.

“Berries?” You raised an eyebrow, folding your arms.

“Lots of berries.” Spain smiled.

“Are you sure we don’t have enough?” You asked.

“We need more, dear.” France waved off your question.

“Lots, lots more.” Spain concluded.

“Right!” France stood up and pushed you over to the door. “Now don't hurry back, dear.”

“And don't go to far.” Prussia added, shoving a woven basket into you arms.

“And don't speak to strangers.” France pushed you out the door, as you were a bit surprised on how fast they got rid of you.

“Goodbye, dear!” Spain waved to you, as you slowly began to make your way into the forest. You followed a trail that seemed to be there.

“Goodbye!” The other two called.

“Goodbye!” You waved back at them, as you watched them get back inside and closed the door. They were up to something, but you could find out later. You could use a bit of exploring.

You walked through the forest and began to follow a stream you came across while exploring. Noting that you were alone, you began to hum softly. That humming turned to singing and you began to notice that birds began to sing along with you. Before you knew it chipmunks, rabbits and even an adorable all began to follow, listening to your singing.

You smiled, picking a few berries you knew weren’t poisonous from a bush. the animals watched, as a song came to mind to sing.

“I wonder, I wonder, I wonder why each little bird has a someone to sing to, sweet things to a good little love melody. I wonder, I wonder, if my heart keeps singing will my song go wing-ing? To someone who'll find me and bring back a love song to me!” You sighed, as you walked up a little hill. In the distance, you could see the outline of a castle and you stood there gaping in amazement at it. Suddenly the owl that was following you, landed on a branch in front of you, fluttering his wings cutely. You smiled and spoke to him (though it was more to yourself).

“Why do they treat me like a child?” You sighed, leaning against the tree.

“Who?” The owl asked (or he was hooting, but let’s disregard that).

"Why, Marianne and Isabel and Julchen. They never want me to meet anyone.” You answered, using the three countries’ female, human names. You looked to the animals with a small smile. You were about to quote Sleeping Beauty on this one. “But you know something? I fooled them. I have met someone!”

“Who? Who? Who?” The owl hooted, as him and the other animals grew excited.

“A prince. Well, he's tall and handsome and... and so romantic. We walked together, and talked together, and just before we say goodbye, he takes me in his arms, and then ... I wake up.” The animals heads sunk in realization. “Yes, it's only in my dreams. But they say if you dream a thing more than once, It's sure to come true. And I've seen him so many times!”

You hummed a bit, picking some more berries, when you heard some frantic tweeting. You looked over to find the owl wearing a hat and cape, while being carried by two birds. Two rabbits, each in a different boot follow from below.

“Why, it's my dream prince!” You chuckle and play along. “Your highness! No, I'm really not supposed to speak to strangers. But we've met before!”

You smiled, beginning to dance with them and also began to sing.

“I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.” You smiled, spinning around happily. “And I know it's true, that visions are seldom all they seem, but if I know you I know what you'll do. You’ll love me at once the way you did once upon a dream.”

You danced around for a moment by yourself, with your back turned… coincidentally. You spun back and they caught your wrists with their hands.

“But if I know you I know what you'll do. You’ll love me at once-“

“The way you did-“ Realization slapped you in the face, when someone began to sing with you and that someone had caught you with human hands.

“Once upon a dream…” They ended singing. You turned around to see the stranger and you felt your face heat up. Greece was standing there holding onto one of your hands and gave you a soft smile. Surprised you tried to pull your hand back halfheartedly. He quickly took it, again, looking into your eyes with his own.
